Burgers were good but not as good as Tommy's Burger Stop. Fries and homemade onion pieces were good. I was really disappointed in the Blackberry shake (which cost $1 extra even) because it barely had any flavor. Like, not even a faint vanilla flavor. It just tasted generically sweet with a hint of berry. They also only take cash which is a bummer. Nice view out to the creek though, and the outdoor seating seemed like a nice place to enjoy dinner if the weather was nice.

I don't know why I had high expectations for this burger place, maybe because everyone says is a good burger place. Went with my family the atmosphere is nice for sure. But the food was not. Little fries, burgers were dry and small for the price. And flavorless. You're better off making your own burgers. Won't be returning.

Bring cash or use atm. Cash only. Great burgers, love the onion pieces. Usually also get the French fires. Original owner pasted away around 2020 area, but the new owners are keeping things petty much the same so that's great! In the summer you can sit outside near the creek and watch the birds.

Some of the best food around for a really good deal the atmosphere makes you feel real connected to Alaska. I remember when I was younger my mother worked there and it kind of just has an at home feel to it.

We ordered a halibut sandwich and a grilled cheese with bacon. The fish was tender and moist- best fish sandwich I have ever eaten. The only reason we didn’t five a 5 out of 5 review is because we found no signs saying cash only, and the initial reviews for the place didn’t say cash only and we had use and atm to get cash. The atmosphere and stories on the walls are inspiring. There is a little creek outside that you sit at nice tables by the creek and watch the seagulls and ducks play. I would highly recommend the food and let you know it is cash only

Arctic Roadrunner is an Alaskan Landmark. Located on The Old Seward highway on the beautiful bank of Campbell Creek. There is plenty of outdoor eating to enjoy thar beautiful 65 degree weather. Indoor is iconic with picture and replica scatter throughout. This place is a fast food joint, there's no other way to describe it. But it's a great fast food restaurant. They cook your food while you wait so it take a little time. And the food is really good. Sorry no food pics or table was rarher crowded and our friend and use were playing a card game. This place moves the people through because a lot of people come here. It's an Anchorage icon. Do yourself a favor and enjoy it. Will I go back? Hell yes and you will too.

After some online research on places we should eat at while in Anchorage one restaurant kept popping up. Artic Roadrunner was a "must try" place. Wow, we were glad we did. It's a really busy place so don't be surprised at a little crowd. You order at the counter where they give you a number while the food is cooked. It's a "hopping" place, sometimes a bit chaotic, but it's worth the wait. The burgers are amazing. But the best part, the Onion Pieces (not the standard, food service onion rings). These are a food group until themselves. They are AMAZING. The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating. If you're in Anchorage, join the locals and try the Artic Roadrunner.

An Alaskan institution with a great burger at a price that won't blow your budget. Inside is covered with pictures and small biographies of customers dating back to 1964. It's practically a history of Anchorage and its citizens. The burgers are large and delicious and the sides are well portioned. I went there with my dad as a kid growing up in Alaska. And 30 years after leaving the state, I got a chance to go back and introduce my wife from the deep south to the Arctic Roadrunner. It didn't disappoint. The family approved.

Great location, my boyfriend and our pup were playing in the water while waiting for our to go order. Saw so many kayakers and rafters float by...but aren't their butt's cold?! Anyway.. Great burger. Great shake. Homemade onion rings are a trip and a half but dang they're good- just get ranch! Pickles make my heart happy and they had regular AND SPICY! I would definetely go here again!

I went in to Arctic Roadrunner a little after 6 o’clock this afternoon or this evening and I ordered a cod sandwich. Long story short they always have to have cash that I go to the bank to get cash so I could go get us a hamburger or sandwich there I walked in. I ordered the sandwich and then I said I’ll be right back. I said I forgot my cash so I’m crippled and it took me more than a minute. Probably to run out to my car get the cash out. It was parked in a handicap parking spot and ran back in, and there is just that quick less than a minute, they had canceled my order so I had to wait in line and then when I ordered it and about 10 more people came and it was I waited a good 15 minutes and when I asked about it, it hadn’t even started. They said it’ll be a couple minutes and that was after I’ve been there for 10 minutes waiting because I ate a whole bunch of pickles waiting because I was hungry And then when the manager egg got angry and I said you know forget the sandwich I just want my money back and Manager so awful this courteous you know that thing about the customers always right she was rude and she said these are just 15-year-old how look at how rude you’re been to them and I thought you know what I’m 76 years old I’m handicapped all I did was go get my money and then I had to wait because I couldn’t wait for me to bring my cash back in and so I had to wait behind other people and then to wait another 10 minutes and it still wasn’t ready and all these other people who both in front of me and behind me I got served there was nobody waiting in line when I asked where was my sandwich and they said well, they had that it was still be a couple more minutes. I could not believe it and then she came out there and she said what a horrible person I was I’m 76 years old. I’m not a horrible person. I’m a kind, generous woman who donates to grandparents raising grandchildren because I feel for kids and I appreciate those young girls. I wasn’t angry with them and I wasn’t pissy with them. She was pissy with me whoever she was rude and and told me take it up with Richard I said he’s dead and he would never behave like that him or Annie. They were the nicest couple running that company. If something would’ve happened he would’ve said. I’m sorry that happened to you. We’ll see what we can do to get the order ready instead of oh you know here we give you all your money back. I didn’t want it . I took that $8.80 change there. I already left $1.20 tip so I’m a good customer. She said go away goodbye. It’s like you know what there’s a saying this is if you don’t think the customers right just tell one Del tell 100 and I’m going to that should not be any rudeness I’ve been in there many many times I’ve never had to wait for a halibut sandwich or a cod sandwich 15 minutes. It was rude, rude rude .

This place is THE BEST, and I'm not kidding, the wait, depending on the time, isn't that bad, and the amount of seats is crazy, 🤯. Also, the food is da bomb 💣, a full family of 6 all enjoyed their time here and I'm the one to tell. The service ladies were very nice. 10/10 store, not to mention the very history of that place, very good, would go again 😁

I lived here forever went to the peanut farm 100 times but have never tried this place. My wife won 4 free burgers and sodas from a raffle at work. We went in the kids working there all looked busy but got me my order right away. Onion rings 10/10 burger reminded me of eating of the grill at a BBQ. On the way out I told the kids how good it was and he said the only thing better was a shake... He wasn't lying lol lrg oreo

They do the best they can. Popularity makes this place very busy at times and that's a good thing, always staffed to the max, clean, and great burgers. CASH only business, so come prepared or use their ATM. Oh nice days the creek side seating is a bonus!

This place is an absolute jewel!! I've been coming here my whole life and have feasted on the lord Baranof, the kenai whopper, ect..And today I just happened to stop in a grab the smallest cheeseburger which I believe was the Atu with cheese, it was under 5$ and filled me up!! This place has delicious juicy old fashion burgers that that have a signiture stamp that is in a class of there own!!! I experienced something absurd at this place 03/13/24 6pm.8 people ordered 7 Kenai burgers and 1 turkey sandwich. However, the turkey sandwich came as a salmon burger and 1 Kenai burger was said to be too dry to eat, so I was shocked to see them throw it in the trash right in front of me. And I was in the kitchen. I was irritated. Why did I have to receive this kind of service?

Born in raised in Alaska in 1975 and have been eating here most of my life. Service has always been great but has gone downhill a bit recently. If you Order a salad online, dressing is included. I ordered a salad in the restaurant and was charged for two sides of dressing. When I asked about it, was told that it was a glitch in the system. I asked if she could at least only charge me for one dressing instead of two, and the girl said the register wouldn’t let her. Hmmm… instead of the 15.75 my meal should have cost, I paid 16.95. I know it’s not much, but how unprofessional of this restaurant. Not even an apology or offer of a free soda to compensate. The cashier could have even not added the ranch through the register and just handed me a ranch cup, instead of making me (and everyone else ordering salad) pay for the glitch in the system.

This was my favorite spot in anchorage. We ordered the BLT because we saw someone’s and it looked fantastic…it was! We ordered carrot cake, artic cheeseburger, onion rings, chili cheese fries. All good! Restaurant inside is nice and we also ate our BLT outside by the water. Only accept cash. Such good food. Definitely go!

Had the bacon cheeseburger and home made onion pieces. The burger was super over cooked and I had to chew through a lot of bun and toppings before I got to the dry unseasoned meat. For the price and quality, I can think of a lot of other places I rather grab a burger. And this place is cash only. The only reasons this place got 3 stars and not 1 is the service was ok and the onion pieces were very good--think blooming onion without the spicy sauce.

The vibe here is just all wrong. They only take cash. But do doordash orders. Makes no sense. Food is overpriced for what they offer. The only thing not overpriced is their milk shakes. They need bigger straws cause them shakes thick.

Updated review This place has grown on me. For a fast food place they clearly take pride in the ingredients. This isn't some mom and pop set the bar low fast food place The meat is fresh and not frozen. The bread is always fresh and isn't stale. It's a comfortable place to sit and eat. Prices are good. For a touristy place to not become complacent and let their quality taper off over time is really refreshing and it shows in their food. Their simple bacon cheese burger is the best burger I've had in town, lots of competition. Highly recommend.

Fantastic, flavorful salmon burger.

I hadn't been to Arctic Roadrunner in more than a year. Are they under new ownership or management? I stopped there just before 11:00 a.m. (they open at 10:30). I get the impression they start the day by cooking a bunch of burger patties and just reheating them when the late morning rush starts. My burger wasn't just overcooked, it was crispy on the edges. My fries were mediocre, and the portion size seemed smaller than I remembered. The cashier was inexperienced and completely unmotivated. I asked her a question about a couple different burger options and her answer was "I don't know." I asked her if she could maybe ask someone who would know, and she just stared at me. This used to be the most reliable place for a great burger, but I think I'm done with it if this is what it's turned into. The many photos on the walls are an ironic reminder of times gone by in Alaska, and quality at the Roadrunner is one of those things that have been left in the past as well.

We got the salmon burger with coleslaw and it was absolutely delicious will definitely be back for it possibly once a week! The first time we walked in for pickup one person asked for a code for the pickup so my mom walked out to car to get phone to show code, went back in and showed a different person who was up front then and they said “what’s that? I just need your name” like they were confused. So it made my mother angry. Sorry for the cursing she did on her way out the door, I will be handling the pickups from now on. I think the person asking for a code must’ve been new. But the food was very delicious!!
