Husband wanted to try somewhere new and ran across a bunch of positive reviews about this place. It's only a 45 minute ride from home, so we chose to visit. Layout is a little confusing - there is a drive thru, we didn't see the sign, and it wasn't marked in any obvious way, so we ended up parking in the way. We were asked to move, so we did. Going in, we were surprised at how small the place is, but that's why these little places are so good. My husband and I thought it was cute that they let people sign the walls and put up dollar bills that were written on! Definitely lent to the laid back vibe. We ordered a 16 inch pepperoni pizza. The waitress asked my husband and I if we wanted anything to drink and explained we could go into one of their walk-in coolers and grab it for ourselves. I'll be honest, that made us feel a little uncomfortable. I'm not a "make yourself at home" person in a new environment. Thankfully, I think she recognized our discomfort, because when my husband said he wanted a Pepsi, she went and grabbed it for him. I declined a beverage. We got our pizza and let me tell you: it was fantastic! I'm not a huge fan of brickstone pizza, but this was sooo good. It was extra saucy (which is definitely up my alley) and very cheesy. It came out fresh and hot. Between my husband and I, there was only one piece left. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely drive thru and grab some delicious pizza!

Great place to eat at definitely hands-down the best pizza you’ll ever have. This place is a family run restaurant and you really don’t see that a whole lot anymore and that makes it even more cool. Great pizza Great service 5 star reviews. Highly recommend!

We just happened to ride by on the way home from a bike show we went to in Ashland....I knew I wanted pizza and i refuse to eat anywhere I can get back home when I travel. If you are reading this trying to decide whether or not to eat here... just go. And tell mama you want EXTRA garlic sauce.... I love pizza. Alot. And I eat alot of it. This is truly the best I've ever had... literally. Like for real. And you are treated so well, it's small. If you're looking for a fancy dining experience keep looking. But if you're looking for great pizza with amazing service you'll never forget... this is the place

Ordered there for the first time had heard great things about them, unfortunately our pizza and breadsticks were doughy. It wasn’t even remotely done other than around the edges. We had to put it in the oven at home to finish cooking it before we could eat it.

It was quick, friendly, not a big franchise. It was a family business and the oven brick pizza taste was outstanding!!

This is the best pizza I have had in a long time. This place is awesome.!! This was my first time going there and I will definitely be going back. I wish it was in maysville. This town could really use a good pizza place. I don't think the ones here could compete with Arty's. If you haven't tried it, your missing out. They have the best brick oven pizza, cheese bread and the garlic is the best!!!

The crust on the firebrick pizza was Delicious! Thierry in house garlic butter really brought out the taste!

One of the best pizza places I've been to. Made in a fire place, surprisingly fast, real doe, not too thin, not too thick, just right amount of chew, real tomato sauce, and not too much salt. Would go again. But they're only open 4 days of the week and only for 5 hours.

A couple of our friends told us about this joint so we decided to make the drive from Grayson to check it out and it did not disappoint! We will be back!

There's absolutely nothing bad I could ever say about Arty's Pizza in Vanceburg, KY. Their pizza is the absolute best I've ever had and there's a special someone there who always makes the 35 minute trip worth it. Her name is Phyllis and she is a hoot. She is always giving us a hard time, in a jokingly manner, and that definitely makes it a riot everytime we venture out for Arty's. I love their pizza, love the atmosphere and fun we have, and love their prices. I have, and always will, recommend Arty's to anybody looking for great pizza! Thank you Arty's and thank you Phyllis.

They have very good cheese-sticks, flatbreads, salads. They do carry out, drive through and dining in but seating is limited. Prices are fair and the owner is a very nice guy.

Incredible. Top tier. It feels much different from a typical pizza place. The owner sat and spoke with us while we were there and made our visit very pleasant. It was more then food, it was an experience. Pizza was great and the employees all seemed very happy and excited to work there. I'm just excited to bring some friends back.

Deep Dish Pizza was awesome. Employees were down home friendly and treated us like family..

Stopped here on way home from a min-vacation. We have been trying to get here for years and never seemed to have our plans work out....well we finally made it and we are glad we did! Huge beer selection, great food! I got a small pizza and it was awesome. We also shared some cheesy bread sticks and they were fantastic as well! Great prices too! Highly recommended!

I hold wood fired ovens to a different standard than traditional one's. I thought WIX pizza in Louisville was a 10 out of 10, when it comes to the type of setup? I was wrong! This is the best tasting of it's kind! If you're ready to really enjoy an old fashion crust that hasn't been the same with modern shops? Get ready for a ride down memory lane!!

Best pizza I've had for a while

I am having to update this review. They still have decent bread but their toppings are less impressive and their pies are edging towards greasy rather than tasty. I have to wonder what happened to their chef. Let's also note that during the pandemic they are ignoring masks and allowing full crowds. It's really a shame. My prior review is below. I will admit to always being a pizza fan. My first real job was working for a pizza place and it taught me I love pizza as much as I hate working in the food service industry. While travelling the planet to defend the Constitution I spent some time in Italy and acquired a taste for wood fired pizza. We regularly travel out of our way to visit any place with wood or coal cooking as a result. Larger towns really have the edge for food options! Imagine my surprise when we decided to move out of the city and near a small town and I discovered a small wood fired pizza place! Now that I have had their food twice, once as take out and once dining in I have to post a review. Bread: Okay, this is critical for pizza and Arty's has it fairly well nailed. Chewy but not too chewy, tasty but not in a way that detracts from other tastes! Cheese: Fresh grated makes a difference, and they clearly mix provolone and mozzarella rather than than low end "pizza cheese" you see at the chains. Sauce: Can it be sweet and tangy? Why yes, yes it can! Toppings: Above par and selected to balance tastes! Decor: It's small town and the people are nicer than anywhere within 5 miles of I-75. This is the place you want to stop if you are travelling the AA highway across Northern Kentucky, and it is the place you want to swing up and visit when you are driving through on I-64.

Small home town charm, family friendly, pizzeria, with wonderful staff. Just off Double AA Hwy on the far end of town. Open Evenings Wed thru Sat it's definitely worth the short drive or walk from town. Normally it's eat in or takeout, not sure it dine in has reopened yet. The homemade beehive firebrick pizza oven makes for a mouth watering pizza. It what's for dinner.

I moved out here from Texas awhile back. I tried Giovanni's Pizza because it was right across the street from where I live. The crust was like rubber and the pepperoni was under the cheese. Wasn't very happy. Tried Arty's Pizza today and it was good. The crust is tender and the pepperoni is on top of the cheese like it should be. The staff was friendly and I will definitely be eating there more often. I ate my whole pizza and even ate the crust. I usually don't like the outer crust. Try it if u haven't yet. Have a good day.

Wood cooked pizza, and pizzones

We've eaten here a few times and we've never been disappointed. The owner's are super friendly and accommodating. We stopped once with a church group and they went out of their way to welcome us and fed us quickly by starting us out with "on the house" bread sticks. They let us watch them make the pizzas and even let us get a close look at the oven while posing for pictures. The pizzas are prepared in a wood fired brick oven and have a delicious crust, which is the base of the pizza. The sauce and toppings were pretty normal, nothing out of the ordinary, but it's that crust that gets you. Many in our group said it was the best pizza they had ever eaten. Just don't expect a fine dining experience. The location is basically a "hole in the wall", bathrooms are adequate but not great. Dining area is small and butts up to the kitchen so you can see a lot of what's going on. Seems that most of their customers call in and pick up their pizzas, so it wasn't crowded. I understand that they occasionally grill aged steaks that are to die for - practically fork tender, but they sell out quickly. Haven't been lucky enough to be passing through when that's going on. Still the pizza is worth stopping for and we always make room for it on our trips when we're anywhere near that area.

We got so lucky to pass this place on our way across the country! Fast, fresh, wood fired pizza, indoor and outdoor seating, super friendly staff. Extra cheese! We sat and chatted with the staff who were curious and welcoming. Great local business to support. Just note the unusual hours (Wed through Sat 4-8 or 9).

Fantastic pizza, like none we've ever had before....must be that huge stone oven!! Great people. Guitar standing in the corner also makes for a great temptation to spontaneously regale the clientele in an unplugged fashion! Can't wait to make it back ( it is 400+ miles away from us!)

Fuimos una vez y todo lo que puedo decir es que ir a otro lugar. Primero de todo, cuando fui a pedir nuestra pizza, la persona en la parte trasera haciendo que la comida tenía un cigarrillo en la boca con un empujón de cenizas cayendo por todo el lugar. Que debería haber sido la primera señal de que quizás deberíamos ir a otro lugar. Pero no, nos alojamos y pedir nuestra pizza. Dieron inicio y tengo que ser honesta, peor brutilly cosa que he puesto en mi boca. Ir a godfathers. Pueden ser un poco más caro pero vale la pena para salvarte a ti mismo de esta cosa que llaman comida. Lo siento, no un ventilador

Very nice "mom and pop" restaurant. Very small with only 4 or 5 tables inside but more seating outside. Food was really good and service was great as well.

Yo estaba un poco nervioso que comer allí primero porque es un lugar pequeño pero decidimos probar y nos guste, sino que me trataron como en casa la camarera dijo ir a la nevera y coger lo que quieras, y ella puso una orden de bastones de pan para nosotros. Pedí una pizza pequeña y mi hijo pidió un pan pizza personalizada. Los bastones y la pizza era todo fuego y horno de ladrillo que tenía una corteza muy crujiente y humeantes. Tengo pensado ir de nuevo y bien merece la pena el camino.

Our pizza was good but not really what you expect from a wood fired oven. Our pizza really was like one from Poppa John or Pizza Hut. Good but just not what you think of from a really great looking wood oven. The folks working here are super nice. Wish I could rate the pizza higher .
