Best Chinese food in all of Middletown!!!

Great choice of Thai or Chinese. Great people.

I’ve been going to the Asian restaurant for many years. Their food is not like a lot of other fast food, Asian restaurants. The food is very fresh and flavorful, not greasy or heavy as some Asian food can be. Being Vegan I order Mapo tofu with hibachi rice. The tofu is so flavorful you can get it mild to spicy.. The portion is big enough for two people to split. Off street parking. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Inside seating only.

Easily the best Asian food in Essex county. The ingredients are high quality, and very fresh and the portions are generous. The person who greeted me was so accommodating and friendly. Don’t judge a book by its cover because the curb appeal just doesn’t do it justice. The Thai Basil chicken has some heat to it and the wonton soup is exactly what we needed while getting over a cold. I highly recommend this establishment!

My favorite takeout, the owner is the nicest.

Check your receipts. I've been noticing the orientation she swipes and the price that comes on my card a day later are 7 - 10 dollars more than what I agreed SIGNED to pay. Today I caught her. WONT GO BACK AND I LOVED her SO KIND SMILE IN YOUR FACE and be stealing my pennies yup I want them back. See you at open.

I decided to finally try the Pad Thai, it wasn't that great, didn't taste like authentic Pad Thai :( Also the portion was very small. The lady at the front desk was very nice though and made sure I was taken care of quickly that's why I gave the 3 stars. Maybe I will try the Chinese dishes next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Great family owns this place. We have been in twice and loved it both times. We ordered 4 different things and they were all great.

We love this place. We have been going to The Asian Restaurant for years and it it is still one of our favorites. The staff is lovely and the food never disappoints. The soups are really good as are the fried dumplings and the seaweed salad. Honestly, we have enjoyed everything on the menu. They package their takeout perfectly too.

Very disappointed it was my first time trying I ordered Lo Mein and it was dry had no flavor and then I ask for dry noodles for the wonton soup and I was told they don’t have that never in my life have I ever heard of a Chinese restaurant not having dry noodles for the soup. that’s just weird Never going to come here again and order. from them I don’t recommend this place

Ordered here twice so far and both times the food was very good. Got the sesame chicken (white meat) with white rice. Everything tasted hot and fresh and not overly salty like any other Chinese. Go to spot now ☺️

Ordered on Doordash, excellent food. Their vegan General Tso's chicken was perfect, and the shumai was amazing. A new go-to for us!

Delicious! So many good vegan options. I had the sesame vegan beef, it tastes so similar to the real thing!

Lunch on Thursday. I specialize my meals, NO mushrooms and I add snow peas / celery. I order online through their website for pick up, usually within the first hour they open. The veggies are always good, fresh and they still have a crunch to them - so they are not overcooked. A big plus. This order was a lunch special - Szechuan shrimp with white rice, wonton soup and I ordered an appetizer of fried Japanese dumplings, which I have fried on all sides. My spice level is medium and it is spicy enough to get the spice, but not too spicy. The restaurant is clean, it is easy to park if you are doing a pickup or if you choose to eat inside there are metered spots. The service is always great! I tip cash. They definitely have it coming 💲 I go there every couple of weeks for a lunch pick up. So I may do an update with another dish at another time. Lastly, I took a picture with my receipt, so you can see the price. Prices may change, but this is what I paid for my lunch. Enjoy!

This has been a family favorite since they opened around 10 years ago. Always friendly, always the best ingredients, me always delicious. The green Thai curry is to die for.

Our go-to Chinese takeaway spot! Everything is delicious, everyone’s friendly, and things are reasonably priced and usually ready quickly. Definitely recommend! Wouldn’t get Chinese anywhere else around town.

Absolutely delicious. My coworkers & I love to order lunch from here. Lots of different dietary options. Big portions for a reasonable price. The inside is quiet & spacious. Took one star away because I was 7 minutes too late for the lunch special.

Just wasn't good orange chicken. Sauce was way too watery with overcooked salted broccoli.

New to the area, first Asian restaurant I tried and I was up sick if you catch my drift. They have a great options for vegans and vegetarians but I will not be eating here again due to falling ill in lieu of.

The steamed dumplings are great. Still no indoor dining only take out but it's always fast and fresh. .

Food and service always excellent! We've tried curries,lo meins, gen tso chk,orange chk etc... Everything has been Well prepared and tasty. A twice a month or so treat our family gives ourselves- out of all the Chinese food places we could go, this is a place we prefer Consistently

Tried Asian Fusion because it's close and am very glad we did! It has everything from Vegan to Seafood to Meat dishes. We've been back several times and always get something different. Quality food and generous portions from a variety of Asian origins. Five Stars is an understatement!!!

It’s the best Asian restaurant in town! The food is delicious and always fresh. I’m vegetarian and I love the options they have for me! I tried the vegetable fried rice and it’s one of the best fried rice I have had in the past. I tried the vegetable Lo Mein and the Vegetarian General Tsos chicken are DELICIOUS!

Great spot, delicious and fresh food and large portions. Definitely a must try in Middletown and price is affordable. Pickup was easy as well In the pictures you will see sesame chicken, dragon and Phoenix and egg drop soup. If you are unsure what to get the General Tso is a good choice..

Very nice! We tried the vegetarian chicken and broccoli and the vegetarian orange chicken. Both outstanding . We are eating the vegetable fried rice now. Also very good. I would say the two vegetarian chicken dishes were the standouts. We tried ordering the vegetarian beef, but they did not have in stock. Maybe next week. We drive from New Haven and it was worth the trip. We will be back to try the beef.

I have to say that despite this place's hilariously generic name, it has some of the best General Tso's chicken I have eaten from a takeout restaurant. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce has the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. It has a little spice to it but nothing overwhelming. The portion is huge. I haven't really tried anything else from them but plan on doing so in the future.

I’ve driven past this place many times over the years, but I’ve never thought to try them out. It wasn’t until a Facebook group recommended them as the best local Asian food, dumpling location, etc. I tried their pad Thai and it felt very light and clean, yet delicious!!! I didn’t feel gross after eating it and I can definitely tell the chicken was fresh and the veggies were washed throughly. Thanks to the Middletown ppl for letting me know of this lil gem. I will definitely go back!!

So COVID has been a difficult time. Work has been a lot. The food we received was the best Chinese I’ve had in a while. I literally cried because I felt like I could taste the love in the flavor, it melted my stress and made me warm. The owner also gave us some homemade tea she had brewed fresh and it was sublime. Kung pao chicken to die for. Sichuan wontons sooooo spicy I loved it! General Tso’s was fresh and sumptuous. Wonton soup broth was light and flavorful, and the dumpling filling rich. AMAZING! Never ordering anywhere else.

Just the best Asian food in town! Clean food, fresh, flavorful, fast! Great service - will alter things to your liking. When they closed during COVID we were all heartbroken. When the reopened we rejoiced! If they added adult beverages to the menu it would be on a whole different level!

Their vegan options are incredible and are fully satisfying without making you feel gross after. We got the beef and broccoli and orange chicken, and we will DEFINITELY be going back again soon!

They recently put vegetarian and vegan entrees on their menu. This has completely changed the game for me; they have meatless chicken and beef, for all the classics like beef and broccoli or sesame chicken, except without meat. Honestly, I love going here after work when I'm too lazy to cook for myself; they know exactly what I like and serve it up just how I want. It's not too expensive, the food comes out quickly, and its fairly cozy inside.

This place is a hidden gem. The menu offers a variety of pan-Asian food. It's delicious, inexpensive, and really fast service too! The staff are very friendly. Inviting, no frills dining area. Highly recommended! Try the pad Thai.

The big bowl spicy beef soup was phenomenal, and made to my specifications (extra spicy). I'll be going back soon to try other items.

Sesame chicken and house lo mein were good but weirdly expensive for a chinese restaurant... the taste is just as good as any other place but the food is way more expensive. $12 for sesame chicken?! Every other place is like $7-8...

I hate to write a negative review when the staff were so friendly, but the food at Asian Restaurant was truly dreadful. Dumplings, noodles, tofu--almost everything was awful--and nothing was fresh. The only bright spot was the "vegetarian chicken" dish which was actually tasty. We couldn't finish anything else.

Absolutely delicious, freshly prepared cuisine, with a variety of Asian dishes, from Chinese to Japanese, and Thai. I come here at least twice a month to eat a good, healthy meal. Well worth it.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the food here is outstanding. I asked them to recommend something new that I haven’t tried before and they recommended the Singapore Mei Fun. It was amazing and I have gone back to order it several times. I have ordered many items from the menu and each one of them has been significantly better than the same items at other establishments. This place is great!

Very friendly and the food is excellent

The food here is really great and the people behind the counter have always been friendly, however my experience with the delivery system was another story. First of all, I used the online tool and selected the food to be delievered at a specific time instead of asap. About 15 minutes before that time I kept getting a call from someone from Atlanta Georgia, they left no message and just kept calling me. When I finally answered it turns out it was the delivery man, he yelled at me to hurry up despite the fact he was still 10 minutes before the time I requested. He didn’t speak very good English because he didn’t seem to understand when I explained he was early and I couldn’t have came earlier (I mean otherwise I would have selected the ASAP option). So yeah that was stressful so if they could honor their delivery requests that’d be cool, note I’m only a few minutes up the road anyways so it’s not like he had to leave 30 mins early to avoid traffic.

Never had a bad meal from this place. Food is always tasty. Staff is friendly as well.

Top tier delivery restaurant in Middletown. They have white and brown rice, and even have classic dishes in vegetarian format. The prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent.

Ping and Li Li run a casual plave that serves up a lighter, yet tasty, version of American-Chinese classics. Their Thai menu is not extensive but does offer a pretty good number of dishes.The food is pretty darn good, especially given the modest prices. I pop in for lunch about once a week or so spring through fall. Highly recommended.
