Danielle was an excellent server, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

I'm not sure what has changed, but the food quality has gone downhill over the past several months.

Just average and they have no idea how to estimate your wait time.

Always great love this place even just sitting at a table and not Hibachi service is fast and good is always fresh and hot. We just ate sushi this day but we love there sushi options.

Very good food, Decent lunch prices. Entertaining hibachi chefs. *edit USUALLY entertaining chefs. Not sure why today's was different but he only did one anticipated trick. (the onion volcano). No spatula spins, no broccoli toss, no fake saki stream... Very deadpan. I guess it's hit or miss with that.

Had a great time here, the food was excellent the price was more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food you receive. Kids had a great time watching to the food be prepared. Will definitely be back.

We love ASUKA! This review is for what we’ve experienced the last 6/7 times at ASUKA at Brannon Crossing. We do prefer hibachi over dining room. For some reason, the food tastes better. It was very busy the night we went. There was a long wait for hibachi so we were offered the dining room which we gladly accepted and we were seated right away. However, it was 30 minutes before server came to our table. I think the poor girl was server for the entire dining room and she was going as fast as she could. The restaurant must have been shortstaffed that evening. This is one of my favorite restaurants and has been my restaurant of choice for my Birthday for the last 3 years! Early evening is the best time to go for the quickest seating.

I just wish I didn’t have to wait for my vegetables! Can they be steamed, then placed on the grill 🤷🏽‍♀️

We had a dozen people for our granddaughters birthday dinner and we we couldn't have been happier with the food, atmosphere and service at the hibachi grill. Our granddaughter and everyone else was impressed. Thank you for making her birthday special

Ordered the bourbon happy hour special based upon the pricing. Got charged regular price, which was a total of $8 more than the happy hour pricing for 2 drinks total. Noticed it on the bill and immediately notified our server who said he would take care of it. He comes back to the table and said he couldn’t, but already ran our card for the full price. He said he could call a manager, but there didn’t seem to be one readily available and we needed to leave. So we just paid it. That’s not acceptable service. As a former server myself, I would be mortified to ever do something like that.

The food was great the service was fine our Chef was super kind and really funny. I was disappointed with not being able to get refills on my drinks. But I think it's kind of all over the place there like I think that you all need a lot more structure. That way guests don't go without something to drink for 20 minutes

Went for our company Christmas party and it was amazing!

My fiancé and his family took me for my first Teppanyaki experience, and it was both fun and delicious! The atmosphere of this restaurant is top notch. It’s spacious, has beautiful decor, and the hibachi tables themselves are quite the spectacle. Our chef who cooked, performed and served us was super friendly and fun! He was the highlight of the whole experience for me, as he tried shooting broccoli pieces into our mouths and created a giant, fiery onion tower on the grill! The food he cooked was lovely was well. For our appetizers, we got miso soup, and I chose to have some salmon sashimi on the side, which was fresh and delicious! I got the chicken teriyaki dinner, and it was wonderfully seasoned! Seeing the chef prepare it with such skill and a large variety of ingredients also really whet my appetite. The portion was very generous! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and I’d love to come back for another delicious, dazzling hibachi performance!

This place is usually very good with no problems, but last time I ordered takeout I got insane stomach pain for a week and had to get checked out. The steak was very rare aka blue, which is most likely the culprit

First-time guests. We did the sushi at a table instead of hibachi. The food was good. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. Pricey. 4 adults with 2 bottles of wine and one Old fashioned was $250. I was really annoyed that they would not honor happy hour price for Old fashioned. I asked in advance to ensure happy hour price was in effect. They confirmed and asked what kind of bourbon. I chose Buffalo trace, which was listed on their website as included in happy hour. When i challenged them about not getting happy hour price on the bill, they insisted that the in-house printed menu did not have buffalo trace. With the long list of premium bourbon on the list and the discrepancy with the web site I thought this was poor customer service. I don't think I will be back. I prefer to patronize businesses who value my patronage.

Ordered takeout online for pickup at 5pm but the order wasn’t ready so I sat in the waiting area until about 5:45pm. The food was good but it wasn’t really hibachi style like when you eat in at the restaurant.

The Danville location seems to have better quality food (or the prep is just a little better, but the service here is far better than Danville. Either location, the Nikki roll and crab or cucumber salad is the way to go!

I am only writing a Google review, as my husband emailed Asuka with no reply. A couple of months ago, we went with our son. As you do with hibachi, we sat with a variety of people. My husband and I both ordered filet, while our son and the people across us ordered regular steak. The chef got them mixed up on the grill, and we got the steak while the other guests and our son got the filet. There is a HUGE difference in the cut of meat, and when I brought it up to the chef, he absolutely humiliated me. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about. All I asked is that we be charged the steak price rather than the filet price. I didn't ask for more, I wasn't rude. He literally reached over, picked up my plate, and dumped it all out. I was so embarrassed! We went on Sunday, and the same thing happened. The chef got the steak and filet mixed up, and my son got my order, while I got his. As a 13 year old, he also noticed how different the cuts of meat were. At the price we are paying for dinner, we would expect to be served what we are ordered. At the VERY least, we shouldn't be charged the premium price when the chef mixes them up. My husband emailed Asuka, letting them know of our experiences, and they couldn't be bothered with responding to him. Just make sure you get the cut of meat you ask for!

They have some gluten free options. It seemed like our server didn't really know what gluten free was, which made us a little nervous to even order gluten free stuff. But we were able to get sushi and fried rice gluten free so it worked out. Not sure exactly how many things can be made gluten free, and they don't have a gluten free menu or say it specifically on their menu either. But if you're going here with family or friends, they at least have those options for you so you can join in. Hoping they will get better with this in the future!

The two of had sushi at the sushi bar. Great service by a great server. I forgot her name, it she was fantastic! The food was delicious! Nice and fresh!

I have been here before but not since Covid happened, and nice to know it is still just as good with great service and food. Always a good time with the hibachi chefs launching food and sake at your face. They have an awesome birthday presentation too, complete with singing, a drum, and dessert with a sparkler!

The food was decent but it was very difficult to get a refill on a drink. The service was not very attentive.

I’ve had Asuka multiple times, and it is always top notch! I had take out for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the large portions and cost. For less than $30 I got a full portion of teriyaki chicken with fried rice that tastes just like the hibachi style chicken and rice I’ve had while sitting at their grill before, a second side order of fried rice, a salad with their ginger dressing, and a large portion of their soup. It was absolutely delicious!!! I wasn’t sure how the taste or portion sizes would compare to eating in the restaurant, and I’m so happy I went ahead and ordered the take out because it’s just as tasty, if not better especially with the large portion size. This is going to be a new regular in my take out rotation each week for sure.

Celebrated a birthday at the restaurant. Our server Jiani was awesome. Checked on us in a timely manner! Very attentive to us crazy party of 7 and our servers spirit was so true and positive. Food was good we had lots and the. Atmosphere was open and tables were spaced nicely. Will comeback and ask for Jiani too! So fun.

I have been multiple times it is always a great time, and the food is always awesome.

This is my Mom's favorite restaurant. I try to take her here as often as she likes, and we've been very pleased with everything we've ordered. We usually get sashimi/sushi, cocktails, and the chicken and shrimp combo. If you like teppanyaki, give this place a try.

Asked for filet medium and got well done. The rice and scallops were fine but the cook had no personality and did not interact with his customers. All the other grill around me looked great.

I have lived abroad and in multiple US states since my first visit to Asuka, and I can still say without a doubt that this is the absolute best Japanese style restaurant I have been to. The food, service, and atmosphere are just impeccable. A great place for date night or family meals. 5 stars isn't enough!

Average hibachi experience but it was fun! Crab ragoon had real crab and their calamari was great.

Waiter neglected to tell the chef about shrimp allergies. Most of the orders were mixed up. The chef was new, and had absolutely no personality. As well, it was a bridal celebration, and there was no notice of that. Average teppanyaki.

Love this place. They all hustled and work so hard. We enjoy the food and service. They even know us by name but not sure that’s a good thing LOL! Great appetizers, chicken, steak, shrimp, salad and dressing, soup, rice, and oh my the YUM YUM sauce! Nothing store bought even comes close so don’t even waste your money!

Asuka Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar is located at 360 Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, Kentucky. It's only about 7 miles from downtown Lexington. This restaurant, like locally known Ginza and Kansai, offers a hibachi grill where chefs prepare your meal right in front of you. Although they are very similar, I've found that Asuka is a little bigger, has separate rooms for hibachi dining, and has more upscale decor. The service was outstanding, the best I'd experienced at any Kentucky restaurant. As for the food, another winner! Everything was prepared to perfection. The hibachi chefs take more time and care in ensuring a quality meal as compared to other area hibachi-style restaurants. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that won't break the bank and will leave you wanting to come back. If Asian cuisine is your thing and you enjoy hibachi, I highly recommend giving Asuka Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar a try. I think you'll love it!

The bento box is a staple in the weekly work lunch rotation. Just the right amount of everything and a very reasonable price.

I enjoy coming here. Service is always wonderful, the food is always stupendous & the cook most definitely puts on a show and participates with the people. Always a great place to go with the family, on a date or even just a hang out spot wit the crew to unwind after a hard day's work.

I like that Asuka takes reservations because they are especially busy on Friday nights. Even better was that we were seated immediately (we chose the dining area, not the hibachi side). However, it took a loooong time to see our server for the first time. She was actually working extremely hard; she just had way too many tables to keep up with. Our food was enjoyable enough. Two of us had sushi rolls and two of us had hibachi. We ordered an appetizer of Edamame that didn’t come out before the food. I asked about it and she said she’d check on it. It ended up coming to the table AFTER all of our entrees were eaten (and she acted like that was perfectly normal). So, I guess we had edamame for dessert. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Food is much better than the service....very slow. My first review was 7 years ago. I have dropped my rating to 2 stars. The food is still good. But the service is horrible. We had a party of 16 with reservation at 6 we were seated at 6:30. Half of our party was served by 7. The other half was served at 7:30 - after the others had completed their meal. We were celebrating a birthday. Not much of a celebration. On previous visits with reservations we waited over an hour to be seated. The owner apologized after our second complaint. He offered gift certificates . Our bill was nearly $600. Even with owner apology and gift certificate, it left a very bad taste in our mouth. Sorry. Too bad. I wish they could do better, but the poor service is pretty consistent.

This definitely my go to Hibachi and sushi place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the chefs are happy to comply with my oddball requests (not a fan of undercooked onions or the ginger panko). Love their type of Lobster Rolls 😃!

They were rude to us. Got one of our orders wrong and blamed and snapped at us. Also we never got refills and to go drinks that we asked about. We will not be back and it's sad because it's so close to our house!
