Really enjoyed the lunch Shashimi Bento. I've had it several times and it is always good.

Sushi was disgusting. Very disappointed!

Why are the prices on your website menu not reflective of the actual price you charge in the restaurant?

Amazing food, but my favorite is the sashimi. When I eat sashimi I like it cold, it has a better flavor when it is colder than a warmer refridgerator and the do an excellent job. Very good!

My second visit to this establishment, and it's just as good the second time around! If your party has mixed budget needs, the smaller dishes and specialty sushi roll entrees can be as inexpensive as 10 dollars with larger dinners ranging up in the 20's to 30's. The portion sizes are well worth whatever price you pay. Everyone at my table needed a takeout box! The furnishings are simple yet elegant, and the semi-secluded room where the booth tables are is a cozy space for an evening with friends.

Well worth the stop!! So much food for ur money! I wish I had grabbed picks before we dug in but it was really delicious. Fast friendly service was a plus!!

Received piss poor service from the waiter tonight while I was out eating dinner with my coworkers. He had a really bad attitude after we made adjustments to our meals.

The tube sushi bento box is two rolls of tuna, one traditional and one spicy, and three pieces of sashimi along with seaweed salad. Excellent for the price. However the rice isn't as flavorful as expected and seems a bit stale . Thoroughly enjoyed the seaweed salad. Spicy tuna isn't what I normally expect but good otherwise

The food is so delicious! I had a shrimp hibachi plate with a side of scallops and a chicken stick. The 5 spice seasoning on the chicken stick was amazing.

Visited Atami to celebrate my great work day! Ordered the King Tempura Roll (cooked) & Miso soup. The roll was bland & the center was mushy and not as hot as it should've been, unfortunately. My server was pleasant, but it took longer than expected for the roll to come out even though there were only 3 tables seated. Miso soup tasted as if it were a powder base mix. I wasn't impressed, but at least I gave it a shot! Price of the roll was $15 & miso $3.

My food came out cold,my steak was tough like leather,the soup was pleasant and the salad was ok, all and all I was severely disappointed..... we were traveling through and pulled them up on Google maps and decided to give them a chance and for what I paid for that trash called food, I would have been better off going to the dump. Waitress did a good job on her part so I don't hold any negative grudges on her part...

Ordered food over the phone …. I was told it would be ready in 15 min .. which it was .. but had to wait an additional 20 min once I got there to receive my food because the lady was constantly taking orders over the phone while I was just standing there …Better customer service please ..

An embarrassment for Japanese cuisine

Our favorite place to eat on weeknights. The ocean roll is my go to and we always start with edamame. We’ve always had good service.

I'm in Vicksburg for a few days. Today is Atami's turn. I love sushi and hibachi places so this one is s no-brainer. Ordered octopus as an appetizer and the Poke Bowl for the entree. Service was fast, prices were reasonable and flavor was great. I will add this restaurant to my list of restaurants to return to.

Everything was good, but they left off my miso soup for the to go order portion of my order and I didn't not unstable all the bags to check it until I was home. Not the end of the world, but disappointing.

First time. Had tuna sushi. Horrible. No taste. No masago on it. Not sure it was even tuna. Looked odd. Just unedible. Had chicken hibachi. Rubber chewy chicken. Soggy vegetables. Threw away. Spent $30 for food that was trash. Don’t know how they stay open. Fire the cook. If I could give zero stars I would.

The flavor of the sushi is amazing! The staff is amazing and the food tastes amazing! 100% would recommend this if you’re at Vicksburg for visiting.

Best sushi I’ve had in the delta

I used to like Atame but they have gone downhill. I ordered a sashimi bento box. The waiter brought a sushi bento instead. I tried to get his attention but he never glanced my way so I flagged down the busboy and told him about the mistake. He said he would pass it on but no one came to the table to correct the mistake. As time was running on I decided to go ahead and eat the sushi as it was apparent that I would not have time to wait for them to correct the mistake. The fish was not at the freshness level that was appropriate to be eaten raw. It was dry and obviously not freshly sliced as it should have been. I did eventually speak to the waiter who admitted the mistake but refused to make any gesture of compensation for his mistake. I was very disappointed in the service and quality of the food. I used to be impressed with Atame but will not eat there again. On the bright side my friend had a hibachi bento and said it was quite good. In closing I guess there are some positives but stay away from the raw offerings.

I've had sushi in various parts of the state of Mississippi and this was hands down the best sushi I personally have ever had. The quality was such that you could taste the individual parts of the sushi including the toasted sesame seeds. Service was without issue. Food arrived promptly with larger than average portions. Each roll was 8 pieces and left me more than satisfied. I highly recommend a visit.

Keep away, this staff will blatantly disregard any health requests made at atami. I have a gluten allergy known as celiac. I make it very clear my condition when ordering because it’s a script I’ve rehearsed a thousand times at this point due to my condition. I ask for no bread crumbs or soy sauce on my sushi. The server comes back with the sushi and it has both on it. I let the server know and she took it back and told me that they weren’t making another one. She offered to pay for the sushi and the chef refused to serve me. Ego is more important than customer requests and health. Left hungry and with a total waste of my time. Heading to Japanese express where I know they rattle the pot.

My wife and I went for lunch on Sunday. The place was busy, but not crowded. We were seated right away and given our drinks. The end... After our drinks, the servers never made contact with us again, never took our order. We tried to get her attention, no luck. After 20 minutes, we walked out. I can count on one hand the number of times, in my life, that I have ever walked out of a restaurant without eating. The food may be wonderful, but I'll never know.

Good food, good service. I had the shrimp hibachi entry for lunch. It came with two dumplings, two pieces of sushi, and soup. Everything was good. The vegetables in the hibachi were crisp and not over cooked. I’ll be back!

I was in town on business and stopped by here one night for dinner. The service was top-notch. The steak and scallop hibachi was excellent. The tempura roll tasted like it was fried in old oil. That was the only downside. I'd come here again.

Let my start by saying the Sushi was amazing! We really enjoyed the food with our visit. Our waitress was very nice, but you could tell she was over worked because they were short staffed. All in all a good experience, and would recommend the restaurant. My only detraction was that the kitchen and support staff seemed to be on their own schedule while the rest of the restaurant hustled around them.

Sparkling clean restaurant, super fun server and fabulous food. We are from New Orleans and just passing through. We are so glad to have found this jewel in Vicksburg. We will return our next time in the area. Please try this jewel if you have not. You will be glad that you did.

One of our favorites eateries. Only real sushi joint in town, and being closed on Monday vs Saturday like they used to is a big plus. Some days they phone it in and everything kind of looks slapped together, but typically everything on the menu is great. Sashimi is always fresh and tasty, never tastes or smells old. Dine-in service is usually top notch.

Atami has the best hibachi vegetables I've ever tasted. The veggies are never overcooked. The vibrant color and crispness is preserved during the cooking process. I usually order the shrimp or salmon hibachi, and it always takes me at least 2 servings to eat it all; that's how big the meal portion is. They also have the best cream cheese wontons I've ever eaten also. When I want a very desirable Asian dish, I always head to Atami Japanese Grill. You can't go wrong.

Great food with tons of options. I eat the same thing times when I visit but it's always nice to be able to try something new on the sushi menu. The place is always clean and I like that it's family run. The kids are there at times being kids but it doesn't bother me since I know what it's like to try to run a business with school-age kids. The staff is always kind and helpful and did I say the food is always great? It is.

Sushi was delicious! The price was absolutely right! The service wasn’t bad. I have to say though, the lights above the tables flashed the entire time. It was every booth not just ours. It can’t be on purpose but it’s definitely noticeable. I would hate to be under that light all day.

I have no idea how this place wasnt packed when I went! Some of the best sushi I've ever had and the menu had price options from low to a little higher. I splurged on something more expensive and it was very much worth it. Large portion and absolutely delicious. Plus, the staff were very nice. Pic is after I ate a few bites, couldn't resist.

The sweet and sour chicken with soup, salad, and rice for 11$ is an awesome deal and tasted great, but the sauce that comes with the chicken was not very great. It was a good thing I bought other sauce for it. The hurricane roll was alright, but not worth the price.

I visited for the first time on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. Love the ambience of the place. I felt confident about the service and food we were going to have and I was right -- Started with a California roll of sushi. Fantastic! For my main course, Hibachi steak and rice with a side salad and clear soup. I was so surprised at how much food came with the entree. An absurd amount of steak and rice. I was hungry and could only eat half. (they have boxes to take away your leftovers) It was so good! Our waiter was fantastic. The environment was wonderful for quiet conversation. Atami Japanese Grill is a treasure to Vicksburg and I will eat there again every chance I get!

Good place for sushi in Vicksburg MS. Love dining in because of good customer service. Recommend changing out the color lights above the tables. Colored lights can sometimes put people in a bad mood, hurt their eyes when they strain to read the menus. And put their company in a different light, sometimes not a good thing.

Went there for lunch after we ruled out a few other locations. The staff was friendly and place was clean. They serve you good portions of food in the main course. However the appetizers were quite small. The price was affordable. We would definitely go back.

It was pretty good. The server was nice as well. I had crab wontons. By the time I started eating them I began feeling like I no longer water the roll I order, but once it came I was glad I stuck with the sushi. It was better than I expected. It was a simple roll, but good!

I have gone here dozens of times, never had a bad dish not even once. Well done Asian Kitchen Classics from both Chinese and Japanese styles of cooking and interesting specials that are outside of the norm but are still delicious. Pair this with the fact that they always have fresh fish for sushi, and they are maybe the fastest kitchen to make any form of cooked dish I have ever seen for this style of cuisine. They also have the friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of dining with, they rival Chick-fil-A in terms of satisfaction and attention to their customers . I would give them SIX stars if I could.

About the only negative is a lack of atmosphere. The decor is like any other restaurant these days; big televisions hanging all around. Staff is attentive and the food is great. There are no Japanese employees in this "Japanese" restaurant, I asked.

I would normally never try a Japanese restaurant this far from the coast, having had too many bad experiences in the past, but I did try this one and was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, service was nice, people were friendly, decor was good and clean & prices were good. Free refills were good too.

I think this is the best Japanese food in Vicksburg. They have amazing sushi rolls, tempura, rice, noodles, everything is really good. The service is always really good and they are always helpful with orders and always want to make sure the that the order is correct and that the customer is satisfied. Awesome place to go out and eat for anyone and any family.

Decent food, decent atmosphere, decent service.. They are always very sweet to our children and keep our glasses full. Food is above average, especially for the area.
