A little pricey, but the food was fabulous!

Don't be fooled by the outside shabby chic appearance. The inside is all white table cloths and elegant charm. There is an amazing outside covered dining area overlooking downtown Main St. We shared the baked brie and fruit appetizer and the cream of asparagus soup that paired perfectly with the wine. We also shared the spanish flan with fruit compote. The food was spectacular and delicious. Our server Amanda was very attentive and delivered superior service. I would highly recommend this dining establishment!

It was our first time here and the experience was perfect. Very good service, the food doesn’t take long to get to your table. The food was very very delicious; I got a Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was the best Buffalo Chicken Pizza I have ever had, with a very original recipe that I haven’t tried before, all the ingredientes are very well thought and the flavors complemented each other perfectly. To close, we ordered some nice dessert and delicious coffee. We are definitely coming back to try their brunch menu next time.

We visited this restaurant with a group of three people or Sunday brunch. It looks like there was only street parking, but we were able to park a short distance away. It does not appear to be wheelchair accessible as you have to ascend a moderate incline to reach the restaurant, then claim a flight of stairs to get to the dining area. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The indoor rooms are small, charming, and designed to be intimate and quaint. The outdoor seating is on a patio and overlooks the main street in Weston which is quite a nice view. On this particular day there were fans and the temperatures were perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious, and I appreciated the fact that the bacon was crisp and a serving consisted of four pieces, instead of just two as in many other places. The signature French toast was really nice with robust chunks of chewy baguette. My friend was very impressed that the eggs were scrambled soft as she had ordered. Evidently this is difficult to achieve. The roast potatoes happened to be slightly cool on the plate, but we’re still very tasty. The iced tea slightly flavored with peach, which might be offputting if you’re not expecting it. This is a lovely place to visit if you are looking for a casual, business, or romantic meal.

If I could’ve got four different items on the menu, I would’ve between wild boar elk stuffed pheasant and ostrich. It was hard to choose. I went with elk and was not disappointed.

Ordered appetizer soup which was amazing! Barely started soup and meal delivered. Thus, the lower rating on service.

What a unique place... romantic setting in an older building. The food choices...wow...a little bit of everything and even chef's specials! It really took a while to decide because the choices are so vast and varied. Once your food arrives, the diverse colors and flavors on the plate will stop conversation. Highly recommend this place!

I enjoyed the Ostrich with the gumbo to start and caramel cheese cake to finish with a Pinot noir that fit perfectly! Wonderful service and great atmosphere early on a Tuesday night.

Had a wonderful experience, the food quality is outstanding! Got the Trio Mixed Grill of Chicken, Beef Tenderloin and Fish of the Day (seared Ahi Tuna) which was amazing. Also sampled the Avalon Salad and Gumbo, both very good. Enjoyed the patio after dinner which was quite large. Appreciated the wine list was well. It’s not inexpensive by any stretch so I spend a chunk of change. Luckily because the food was really good I felt ok about the investment! My only negative was my sense they were under-staffed so the servers/bar didn’t seem very friendly, seemed more stressed and rushing around. I’m chalking that up and expect it must not usually be that way given how cute the restaurant is.

This place was really cool! The old house atmosphere is a unique take on an elegant restaurant. My wife has been wanting to try Ostrich for years. This is one of the only restaurants in the metro that serves it. It was extremely good! We will be back a few times a year.

A Weston gem!! Our first visit to Avalon and certainly not our last! The prices are so reasonable and the food was exceptional! I had the lunch salmon (generous portion and perfectly cooked) that included par boiled/fried potatoes with a cream sauce, wilted spinach, steamed broccoli and julienne candied carrots. My husband had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and loved it. The menu had so many awesome selections to choose from.

The food and atmosphere were great! Of course, Weston, in general, is cute but so was the atmosphere here, very homely.

Not much to share, this establishment is great! Sat down for an early lunch and so happy that we did! The service was fantastic and the food was great. No matter what dish you want to try, you won't be disappointed. 👍🏻

For the prices, we had high expectations. The service was GREAT. But they sat 3 of us at a table obviously meant for 2. We were on top of each other...very glad our 4th person couldn't make it. The food was good, not great, but with generous servings. I ordered an Apple Torte which was delicious, but unfortunately, the "fluffy" crust was like rubber. I couldn't even cut into it, and chewing it was rough. And it was SO WARM in there!

I ordered the Metterrian Salad with grilled portobello mushroom sandwich for lunch. The freshest ingredients, especially the goat cheese. The Brie soup was first class. Met Chef David,.truly a love for his crafts as a Master Chef was appreciated. This is Westons only well preserved fine dining experiences. The upper deck upgrades was a plus to the atmosphere. Quaint and cozy place from those visiting. It was my first day visiting Weston. We did wine tasting at Pirtle Winery and walked over to Avalon Cafe. The food was delicious and I would definitely visit again!

4/30/23 1pm Sunday reservation on a beautiful spring day. Loved the food, loved the atmosphere, superb service and drinks. Really Top Shelf all the way around. Make this a must dine when visiting lovely Weston... so happy I did. They closed at 2pm so I luckily was able to take pictures after the other diners left as to not interpret their meal.

Avalon Cafe is an absolute dumpster fire. The only reason they get two stars instead of one is that the food was actually okay. We called and made a reservation for Friday, 1/20/23. The woman who answered the phone said they had availability, and what time would we like? We said 7 pm and the woman said "you have a reservation for 7 pm, see you soon." When we arrived (shortly before 7pm) the people ahead of us had walked in w/o a reservation and were told it would be a 30 minute wait for a table. I then gave the guy my name, he found my reservation, crossed my name off the list, and informed us that "it would be a 30 minute wait for our table." The time was exactly 7pm. I said "I have a 7pm reservation, why do I have to wait 30 minutes for my table?" The kid said "it just is what it is, I don't know how to explain it" and walked away. The rest of the night was the same way. After a 45 minute wait we were finally seated. I've never seen a wait staff more disorganized or communicate more poorly. We didn't get waters until we had been seated for 10 minutes, we didn't get our bottle of wine for 10 minutes until after we ordered it, the wine wasn't uncorked at the table (was already open when brought), and the whole scene inside the restaurant was complete chaos. Disappointing. Staff was friendly and the place is beautiful. For the price point I expected better food. Mushroom ravioli tastes like what I buy at Costco. Well we went here for an anniversary dinner and were disappointed on several levels. Our waiter was busy so he basically blew us off the whole time we were there. Very little contact with him. The Avalon Cafe was recommended by a local couple for brunch, and it did not disappoint! The staff was excellent! Our waitress was at our table every few minutes, but didn't hover. The other staff members discreetly walked by to pour coffee and water if needed. We sat outside in the patio and it was just a perfect morning! My spouse and I split a crab cake appetizer. The crab was nice and flaky, and the sauce was marvelous. The cafe also provided bread with butter and jam, very tasty. My spouse ordered the sirloin with a Brie frittata. It was so good! The steak was cooked perfectly, and had a nice flavor of smoke and grill. The frittata was light and fluffy, the Brie was creamy, and the scallions added a nice bite. I ordered the brioche French toast, with potatoes and bacon. The French toast had that lovely crisp outer shell, and the middle melted in my mouth. The bacon was a tad over cooked, but still delicious. The potatoes were a little bland. Everything else was seasoned so well, I was surprised they didn't have a little fresh thyme or rosemary to perk them up(not a meal breaker though). This was, by far, the best place we ate in Weston! I would love to have another meal there!

We had a great lunch on their covered patio. The view of Weston and the valley was spectacular. The chef bakes his own bread, so do not pass it up. I had the BLT on a croissant for lunch. We stopped here on a Thursday evening for dinner. The atmosphere was quaint and classy and we were treated well by the staff. This was our first visit here and another customer we met coming in told us to try the flan or the bread pudding because they were both amazing. The service was fast. We had our drinks, salad and warm bread with whipped butter right away. I ordered the Chef's daily feature which was a cajun seasoned grouper with house vegetables and potatoes. I know Missouri is not exactly where you may expect to have fresh grouper on the menu, but my worries melted away after my first delicious fork full of the tender, moist and perfectly prepared fish!
