Simply amazing ! Love this restaurant for Mediterranean options around Virginia Beach. the flavors were popping most certainly.

Hands down my favorite VB restaurant! I’m not a vegetarian but this place makes me want to become one. The food not only looks aesthetically pleasing, the flavors are so unique and everything tastes so fresh. Most of the time when I go out to eat, I stick to what I usually order but this is one of the few restaurants that I plan to try something new every time. I also love the beautiful interior of the restaurant. The decor makes you feel like you’re dining in a different country. The service is great as well. Staff is attentive and very friendly + welcoming! Save room for dessert, the Moroccan Chocolate cake is a nice sweet treat— surprisingly made without sugar.

In short: everything looked nice but tasted bad. In our party of 4, we had 2 different salads, fish and chips, and chicken and waffles. The fries were full of grease and on the verge of being burnt. The fish was more batter than fish. The chicken needs a spicy warning for the amount of pepper in it and also had NO warning that it was prepped in lime (which our party member can’t have). Waffle was fine, it was just a waffle from a hotel breakfast station. The grilled salmon salad was completely bland and really lacked any flavor at all. The balsamic chicken salad didn’t have any artichoke hearts, yet the menu said it would. To top it all off, when asking for a take out container (for the waffles…), IT WAS ALREADY USED! I expected much better for a Saturday night. 10/10 would not recommend and not coming back.

The food was fun. I enjoyed the appetizers I had and the fish dish I had was cooked to perfection. I also had the house tea and it was so tasty, herbaceous and with a perfect little side of honey. The staff was entertaining. My waiter was fantastic and I got to hear all kinds of little conversations since I was the only one there for over 30 minutes. I am actually excited to go back and try different items soon. NOTE: I had dinner by myself, early. I requested a cute booth seat and was declined because they are saved for reservations, but I was in and out in less than an hour and only one two top came in, so I would suggest the staff be a little more flexible there.

Little store for fresh cheeses, herbs, olives, etc. amazing food! I ordered a kids meal for 12$ and the chicken was cooked perfectly , the veggies were delicious! And the potatoes 🥔 were indulgent! Definitely going back to try more off the menu!

First time visit with coworkers. Food was very good along with service and atmosphere. Will certainly add this to my list of places to go.

Really good food. My only complaint about the food was the falafel wasn’t as crispy as I usually tend to like, and a little salty. But everything else was amazing. Best stuffed grape leaves I’ve ever had.

Service was sub par, the lamb shwarrma was underwhelming and the pita bread was tough and basically a step above canned biscuits.

My wife and I make it a point to eat here every time we are in Virginia Beach. Best Mediterranean food we’ve ever eaten. You will not regret going there.

Wow, such tasty food! We tried the spicy seafood wrap (nothing fried…just nice chunks of fish in yummy marinade and tabbouleh, not too spicy), and a salad topped with chicken schwarma….also full of flavor. Such a nice change from the usual offerings in this area!

The food was 10/10 and the service was amazing specially Adriano he was so good and he took care of whatever we wanted on the table. . 5 stars to the Halal chicken and lamb ☺️

I was traveling from Michigan, visiting with my daughter in Virginia and was wanting some good mediterranean food. I Google some restaurants and struck gold when we found this one. The server Denise was outstanding, and very attentive, the food was excellent, cudos to the cook, and the portion size was more than enough. The establishment was very clean, and I wish that all dinning experiences could be like this. You all are the best and I can't wait to visit again. Thank you for caring.

Local here - this is one of my favorite restaurants. Absolutely great food, very reasonable prices, and exceptional service. I try to make it there at least once a week. Try the lentil soup, YUMMO!

Eating at Baladi is my favorite restaurant as my taste buds are consistently satisfied by the highest quality of food along with a delicious blend of herbs and spices to tantalize my palate. I have been a customer since it first opened many years ago, is it no wonder I keep returning to sample their newest dishes while enjoying delicious Mediterranean themed meals. 😋

I love Baladi and make sure to eat here every time we're in VA Beach from NM! It's become a staple of our visit, and I find myself looking at their menu well before our trip because I can't wait to go there. It's usually the first place we hit while in town! All of the food is fresh and delicious, it's great place to sit down or if you're headed to the beach, their wraps make great beach food!

Nice cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent. The mixed fruit juice was special.

To whom it may concern We was told by Seville this afternoon There will be a 10 minutes to 15 minutes wait Which we was fine with that but up to 5 different tables that’s empty and not to let us sit down me and my family till they service after the 15 minute which was ok I’m really disappointed. Hop You wouldn’t treat everybody the same way I got treated!

I liked it. Palestinian versions of Mediterranean Cuisine - delicious but different than other Mediterranean countries and styles of food. Absolutely excellent service and portions are huge. You won't be disappointed. It also has a deli style counter that sells ingredients they use for home use and cooking. They also have an outside seating area which can be pleasant depending on the weather and time of day.

Really good. Vegan options are like smorgasbord style portions i would have gotten for myself. It is really a nice treat. They do not seat you unless they can help you. There was a waiting period to be seated but worth every second until we ordered. The satisfaction is a guarantee.

Such a wonderful little gem in Virginia Beach, Va in Hilltop West Shopping Center. The restaurant had a variety of Mediterranean Food. We loved the ambience and the service was top notch. Definitely will return and share with family and friends.

This food was so good! I got the beef kabob platter and this is easily 2 meals. Inside is kind of fancy so I would dress up if you plan to dine in. I ate outside and it was lovely :)

It’s incredible. We left VB 4 months ago and we still talk about how amazing it is. If I could have it flown to our new home, I’d do it.

I didn’t like the food here at all, but I loved the atmosphere. I had the grouper with the tahini sauce. My boyfriend had the salmon entree. The sauces didn’t mesh well with the fish at all in Our opinion. I also had the Moroccan cake. There’s too many nuts in it in my opinion. I could barely taste the cake part.. The waitress could tell I didn’t like the food, but she never asked me about it. The service was very underwhelming from our waitress (she was very dry) but the hostess who had on a mask was super welcoming. I thought a chef was making the dessert, but I saw the waitress put the dessert in the microwave and put a mint leave and strawberries on it. That was strange. I was under the impression a chef was putting it together. Of course this doesn’t mean that all their dishes aren’t tasty. There may be other dishes that we enjoy. We just didn’t like what we had, but I’m way too nervous to spend our money here again. I love the atmosphere of The restaraunt itself, but we just didn’t like the food….

Oh my gosh! We were exploring around Virginia Beach when we saw this place and decided to check out the menu. We thought it seemed good, so we gave it a try. My family and I actually loved the Mediterranean food. It's so hard to find the best Mediterranean cuisine, but this place nailed it. I especially loved their hummus and chicken shawarma roll. We ordered a few meals, and the service was really good—very welcoming and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. BEST MESITERRANEAN FOOOD!

The food's a bit pricey, but man, is it good. Impeccable and personable service also.

One of my fav mediterranean spots in the area. Mainly because the lentil and quinoa patty is soo good! It's also so beautiful on the inside. Great place to come with a date or enjoy with family. They are very accommodating if you have food allergies. Vegan amd vegetarian friendly!

My go to spot, my favorite is their lentil soup, and always add the pita chips! Honestly everything tried is delicious. Friendly staff, fresh ingredients and cozy atmosphere.

I just had the most AMAZING experience! I picked up takeout from this place and it was out of this world. From the moment I placed my order on the phone to walking inside and being greeted by the most wonderful young woman, everything was just top notch. She was absolutely amazing, so pleasant and friendly - I haven't come across such great service in a long time! And the food, oh my goodness, it was so DELICIOUS! Every bite was bursting with flavor and the fattoush salad was just out of this world, with a dressing that was absolutely incredible. And the shawarma and rice? Simply amazing. We also got potatoes as a side and boy, were they YUM! The only downside was that the portions were a bit small for the cost, but it was a lunch portion after all. Overall, I enjoyed the food and this experience that I can't wait to go back!

This was the first time I've been to Baladi's where I was disappointed with the food. I had the grouper dish for dinner and the fish was tough and the rice was dry. I told the waitress and I received 10% off a $29 meal. Not too happy especially since it was my birthday!

Delicious! Healthy! I took my mom there and she had not been to a Mediterranean restaurant before. She really enjoyed the fish of the day, Mahi. I enjoyed grilled veggies and the Vfalafel. This made for a pleasurable afternoon.

B/c we are vegan we went to this restaurant. They have vegan dishes but the problem is they just don’t taste good. A few years ago we ordered something and it was tasteless. Recently we went back and ordered the last thing on the vegan menu that was recommended by the waitress . It was passable but we won’t go back.

Amazing food, very nice ambiance, excellent service. As we prefer vegan and gluten free food, this place delighted us with many v-gf options in the menu. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and we enjoyed. They also got a small store with authentic Mediterranean things like olive oil, tea, coffee beans, salad dressings etc.

We came 2019 and visited again this year 2024. There is no compromise in taste. Food is excellent this time as well. Lot of gf and vegan and vegetarian options. Which rare to find in Mediterranean cuisine. Only thing is price is too high. But one time try kind of restaurant

We ordered one of their special dishes called Malfoof (lamb) and Shawermah platter with chicken from their general menu. Both dishes were good. However, my favorite is the Shawermah! The chicken was very juicy and delicious! The quantity was just the right amount (for me). We also tried their Halawa from dessert section and it was yummy!! The service was good, atmosphere was excellent!

My favorite vegan friendly restaurant in Hampton Roads. Everything I’ve eaten here over the years has been fantastic. And the staff is always top notch. The falafel encrusted tofu is my fave and you can’t go wrong with the Harrira soup. The Chocolate date pudding pie is so decadent. The lemonade is great…the Hibiscus iced tea is divine. Highly recommend!

Although our food was excellent and our service very very good... 43 dollars for 4 pieces of chicken on a single skewer some excellent veggies,with some rice on my plate, yup that's all there was, just left me feeling not happy about how expensive my plate was. Sadly I will not be returning. Very good tasting food!

Excellent Mediterranean food with a wide range of choices. Service is attentive. I have eaten there 3 times in the past several months and especially enjoyed the lentil soup, grilled vegetables, falafel, grape leaves, and not-so-sweet baklava. I hear that the moussaka is popular, but a friend found it overly-saucy. The renovated decor is wonderful. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The flavors and the freshness of the food here is simply outstanding! The vibe is very welcoming and traditional. The service was excellent. Will definitely visit again. The falafel and grape leaves were done perfectly and the beef shawarma was so tender and delicious. The lentil soup was the best I’ve ever tasted, the flavors were just perfect.

Very disappointing for the price. Got a take out shawarma plate. What little meat there was, was pretty meh, and it was served with what looked like a box salad and something closer to a roll than a pita.

It is a nice and friendly restaurant! The service was great. I had steak kabobs. They were good and it came with rice, grilled vegetables and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki sauce didn't taste like the sauce I have had at other Mediterranean restaurants or Greek restaurants. I was disappointed.

The food was everything we hoped for. So fresh. Wonderfully spiced. The portions are huge. Lunch tomorrow! The staff was very friendly. We will return.

We have visited Baladi’s 5 times now. Several in our family are gluten and dairy free. This place has served us delicious food each and every time while meeting our allergy restrictions. Their chicken potato soup is just perfect for these cold winter days with a side of their delicious falafels! Love the golden raisins in the rice too! And the delicious gluten free dessert is a must try!

I absolutely loved this place! I came here for the first time on a dinner date and was very impressed. The ambience is lovely and it is nicely decorated in there! Very chill atmosphere most certainly. I had the pleasure of being served by Sean and he was the best! Extremely polite, friendly, and made sure we had all that we needed. He was very knowledgeable on the many different menu items and was helpful in my decision making. I ordered the lamb kebab platter and also tried the potato soup. The potato soup was so good!! The flavors were popping most certainly! The lamb was cooked just like I like it and the veggies with the basmati rice were perfect. You get a lot of food too! I was only able to eat half of my food while I was there but I definitely finished the rest at home. I highly recommend this place!! You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful aroma to start an even better eating experience. Get a hot tea and save room for a shareable piece of Moroccan chocolate cake. Yum! Helpful staff, suggested great flavor combination for appetizer and entree. Looking forward to another experience! --- One year later and still fabulous! Happy to experience a larger, homey venue (congratulations). Mama's Khalta tea, falafel, snapper and Morrocan chocolate cake. Happiness, delivered. I should note...I was at Baladi around 3:30 in the afternoon. Reservations are a good idea from 5:00 pm forward.

After two of my sons & I attended the Coastal Virginia Auto show this weekend, we chose to have lunch at Baladi Mediterranean Café. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn’t have to wait for a table and we we seated right after walking in the door. Our waitress was quick to arrive & responsive throughout our meal. The food is delectable! & a great assortment of Levantine “Mediterranean cuisine” A class act & the best middle eastern food in the region!

Dining at Baladi's is a Culinary Vacation. The only other way to get food this unique is to hop flight to "The Med"

The staff went above and beyond to make our time at Baladi really excellent. The food was delicious and there were so many unique vegan options which is always appreciated. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

The food is delicious, the staff are delightful, the environment is satisfying… In fact everything at Baladi is absolutely satisfying on so many levels! Everything Is flavorful and delicious: the tea, wine, appetizers, and dishes, not to mention the baklava! It’s our favorite place to eat out!!!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here. When we arrived, early on a Friday evening, there were reserved signs on several tables, but we had no trouble getting seated without a reservation. The service was attentive. When I looked over the menu, I was glad to see that I could get a "Create Your Own" salad. I put together a salad to my liking with chicken kebab and the Lemon-Olive Oil dressing. It was delicious! My husband enjoyed his kebab platter (I think it was lamb). The food filled us up so there was no room for dessert. I live some distance from Virginia Beach, but will keep this restaurant in mind for the next time I'm visiting.

My favorite restaurant in Hampton Roads! If you go here, you will not be disappointed! Firstly, they are 100% consistent. I always know my experience will be great here. Incredible fresh, healthy food. Nice staff who appears to truly enjoy their job. (We had Rachel the other night and she was very nice and knowledgeable). The ambience is excellent. They recently renovated and it's so nice inside and the music is great. It's very clean and smells amazing. There is plenty of parking and conveniently located in Hilltop. I'm so grateful this place exists!

Baladi’s, Virginia Beach, Va. Been wanting to try this place. I knew it was a little upscale in Hilltop. I actually went there once with a friend and it wasn’t his pricey cup of tea. We left and went to Bonchon. I went here with a different friend who wanted to try it as well. We’d started off with the grape leaves which weren’t too bad. If you have 2 people eating at this place, I think 6 grape leaves would’ve sufficed instead of 5. Symmetry, ladies and gents. Same kind of symmetry if you’d ever been to the Olive Jarden and got 3 bread sticks for a family of 4. I mean, family wars get started. Don’t get me started. Back to Baladi’s. I didn’t really know what to order from this place after watching videos on the You. I’d actually got this veggie patty meal with veggies. Eh, wasn’t my cup of anything really. Didn’t make me feel like I would have to come back and hope for something better. I’m better off at Cava and Mezeh eating something I’m more familiar with and actually like. Maybe I’d ordered the wrong thing. Whatever I’d ordered still should’ve been good. This is a doggie bag that my dog wouldn’t eat. Just sayin’. I’m sure I’d could ordered something better, but I think with this dude’s reputation with the food shouldn’t had some good flavors. Eh, I don’t have to go back.

Inside decor is nice, clean and comfortable. The food is overpriced for what you get. The seafood platter is not what I expected. It barely had any fish on it. It tasted alright but considering everything- I wouldn’t go back. I have to question if it was actually grouper. The texture was off. The kunufah was soggy and possibly old. I have had it plenty of times in other establishments. You can’t compare. Service wasn't the best, not many were in the restaurant so it wasn’t the excuse— but we tipped well, because I know they need it. Wouldn’t consider with this experience… I think this place has better potential, hope this helps !
