Take it from me- this Chinese food is maybe the best in south FL. Fair prices and I love how it’s family owned. We walked in order two meals and they were done within 15 mins- this will be our new go to spot!

The three people working there could not handle the phone calls, food prep and order hand off to customers. Disorganized. I wouldn't go there.

Have been to West Boca location numerous times over the years, with consistently good experiences. Went to the West Boynton location for the first time and was equally pleased. Great food, friendly service, and 100% accommodation of special dietary requests. Big thumbs-up!

I had no idea it was possible to get Chinese food so wrong. Let's start with the "hot and sour" soup, which is completely wrong: no bamboo shoots, not enough vinegar (not sour), not enough chilli (not hot), and not enough corn starch (too thin). The fried rice was very bland, needs a lot of sesame oil at minimum, and maybe a little Liquid Smoke. The boneless pork ribs were super tough; should have tenderized them with baking soda, and the sauce was all wrong; just buy char siu sauce from the Asian store and use that. The broccoli beef was okay, but needed more corn starch. The duck sauce packets were tasteless, not sweet but salty...wrong. The owners really should subscribe to the "Cooking with Lau" YouTube channel, and actually learn how to cook Chinese food. This place is a complete failure.

Have been here a few times it was fresh and good. Last night picked up an order for 2 people (55$) and it was simply inedible. We ordered VEGETABLE mai fun and VEGETABLE fried rice. We got about 5 slimy snow peas and 2 pieces of broccoli from 2 dishes. Obviously they forgot the vegetables or thought it was acceptable. Place is dirty, not customer friendly and I am furious on the price to throw out! Do not waste your $$.

they have a 10 year old answering phones and taking orders wrong. I had to go back 20 minutes.Drive to get the Order Right and Then They Send me home With the Wrong Egg.Food young.I ordered shrimp and never got it.I will never go back to this place and unless you want the wrong order and a bad attitude.I'd suggest you don't go there either

lunch should be fairly easy for a restaurant to do during the week. Not so here. we asked for two combo meals and they were messed up. Asked for one kind of soup and both got a different soup. Asked to take these back and change them said that this is what we had ordered. I said let me see the order pad. No look they said.Ok i said we leave.You pay.they said. No pay. did not give us what we wanted. we walked out. They yelled at us as we left. Did not even turn around,we just walked.

I spent 55 dollars on bland food tasteless. The Roast Pork Eggfoo young was all egg. Spare Ribs were dry and tough and the Shrimp Lomein was just ok

This is your typical (or at least typical for up in the Northeast where I live) hole-in-the-wall Chinese. Great food, wonderful service. The only issue I actually had was with the clientele. When I was waiting for my food, a gentleman grabbed his food from the woman at the front desk and proceeded to inspect every item in it, before finding a pint of soup he deemed "not full enough" and shaking it in front of them demanding more. Not sure where he learned (or forgot) his manners, but definitely needs a refresher!

This is the 2nd and last time I order delivery from this restaurant. Last time I ordered egg drop/wonton soup received plain Wonton. Recently order soup did not receive any noodles. Also ordered chicken and shrimp with mixed vegetables in white sauce but received in a thick brown sauce instead. It’s very frustrating but next time I will pick up instead and check my order before I leave the restaurant. I think it’s going to be quite a while before I order from Bamboo Wok again.

Very cheap tasting ugggg chicken was mushy, fortune cookies taste 100 yrs old

The lady at the counter was so rude. I paid for the food and threw it right into the trash. After my interaction, I was honestly afraid to eat the food. It was the strangest experience. It all started when I called to order. She kept yelling at me when I asked questions about the menu. She abruptly hung up, and I had to call back to add an item to the order. Then I showed up. She was clearly annoyed that I ordered food 🤷‍♂️. When I went to pay, She complained that I was using a credit card and didn’t want to pay her in cash. She saw that I had cash in my wallet and demanded it. It was just a horrible day experience…

Our first time getting takeout from Bamboo Wok. We were very impressed with the great service and great food, especially for the reasonable prices. We will be back!

Food is very good for Chinese takeout in Florida. I second that it reminds me of takeout places in New York. Though we are not in New York and this place could use a serious makeover on the inside. I got the sesame chicken and substituted lo main for the rice that came with the dinner special. That was $3 extra charge. The meals are really big and you can split them. But they don’t heat up well the next day. I liked how the chicken was all white meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork egg roll was crispy and had a great flavor. I learned you must put your order in on the phone before you come. And also like all other reviews you end up waiting 20min once you get there. It’s a long line and one woman at the counter. You can take as many fortune cookies as you want but the humidity makes them super stale and they are not good. The flavor of my dish was really on the sweet side. The noodles were even sweet. I had horrible indigestion the next morning. When I’m in Florida and my family want Chinese this is the place to go to though, I tried some others and no place in the area has better American Chinese takeout. Dinner special is a great deal.

Tried this place a few times and all times it has disappointed. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt and try again but I have tried enough. Food has absolutely no flavor! Save your money and your palette. Will not be back again.

As in previous times, ordered take-out food. Sadly this is the second time the order has been wrong. Lately. Ordered combo meal and an extra small dish and added on a spring roll to the order. The combo meal was missing the egg roll which is supposed to be included, and missing the container of rice but did have the soup! The small pint of lo menu was ok. The main dish with the combo meal was missing rice and had hardly any chicken in it. The attached photo shows the missing chicken ( maybe there were a few pieces) and a full container of undercooked hard vegetables which will not eat!. Probably will not order from there again. Not sure if there had been a change of staff but definitely not up to par.

They are very rude and mean. People come and support your business and you treat different races very mean. The lady never speaks she's very unfriendly and slams food on the counter. I wouldn't eat at this place. Life is about good energy. Mean spirit people preparing your food are transferring their energy into your food. Eat where the energy is kind, nice and loving! Transferring of Energy is real. These people are living in a dark space. …So they can keep their bad energy and low vibrational food. I’ll go where the happy cooks are.If were you I would bypass this place.

The food was sub par and lacked flavor. We will not go back

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The krab rangons were so over fried they cut our mouths. The house fried rice has no taste and the Singapore noodles is just chunks of curry powder on top of the dish. BBQ spare ribs were also bland. $100+ worth of food and I can’t even say one dish was good.

From the Boston Area and this is the closest to “home” style Chinese food in the area. Only take out. Been going for 6 years only once was the order not correct, mind you it was the wrong soup. Food is always fresh and hot. Staff is always quick and efficient. I am sometimes embarrassed how the public treats people and always leave a tip for the counter lady. I usually don’t review much but saw their ratings and felt compelled.

The best and most consistent quality Chinese food around the Boynton/Delray area. Prices are good, portions are large and orders are ready in a timely manner. I highly recommend the Bamboo Wok.

We chose bamboo wok because the place we usually go to was closed on the Fourth of July. We were pleasantly surprised to find the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place for local Chinese takeout

This is our first time at Bamboo Wok and honestly we love the food! My husband loves Chinese food and I`m a tiny bit less, depends of place. I was skeptical I will enjoy the food from the tiny place. And I surprised myself, I loved it! We placed the order via the phone and picked up the meals 20 minutes later as it was promised by the phone. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty: Gen South Chicken, Egg Rolls, Veg Lo Mein, My favorite dumplings and Crab Rangoon - all was really delicious. We definitely will be back here and not once.

Rude owners and staff, simply nasty, count your change she always rips you off, doesn’t give receipts and probably don’t pay her taxes , AVOID

The kid working the register was extremely rude. He even made comments thinking we couldn't hear him. I was going to let that go by if the food was good. Well the food was very bland. I ordered spicy meals and there was no heat at all. This was my first time trying this place and will not be returning and making sure everyone I know doesn't go either.

Stopped for lunch. This isn't a restaurant just a kitchen with pick up. Meal was just ok. Chicken & veggies. Chicken cooked nicely veggies a bit undercooked (but better than overcooked) fried rice is not fried rice at all. It's Yello rice with a bit of cut up ?pork? In it- is there fake pork? If you're a Chinese restaurant and say it's fried rice- then serve fried rice. Very rude woman. To everyone who entered. Kind of shocking, really to have customers waiting on their orders talking about how rude she is. I'm here from out of town. It's raining or I would've just walked out. Wouldn't support this business. Put a new person up front and serve fried rice (or write Yello rice on menu) and your rating goes up.

I tried to place an order for take-out. First, the person could barel communicate. Second, I requested certain items prepared a certain way. I don’t know what happened?? They were angry possibly and smacked the phone down on the call. First time I had a business not want to take an order. I spoke with my parents and they encountered a similar problem with this restaurant when they placed an order for a combination plate. They didn’t want to give them an egg roll?? Very disrespectful and I had to order from another restaurant which were friendly and accommodating. Shame on them!

One of the few Best Chinese food in FL. The Boynton Beach location is as great as NY Chinese food but the Boca Raton location is just plain nasty!

Not sure how they get 4 stars on Google. The food is not good. Service isn't good either. I ordered two dinner meals. I never got my egg rolls or soups. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Being a take out only place one would think the service would be better. Orders take upwards of 40 minutes after ordering upon arrival. The food is average or a little better. Vegetables are fresh, portions are generous, and the prices are very fair. The wait for your food brings us the most negative part, the clientele is probably the worst I've ever witnessed. Rude, obnoxious, and poorly dressed New Yorkers congregate to harass other customers and the cashier taking the orders with baseless complaints. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

They’re ok. Food is fine for the price. If you order on the phone, it’s usually done by the time you get there. The customer service is always bad. Everyone who works there acts is if you’re bothering them by ordering or picking up your food.

Best New York style chinese food in Palm Beach county hands down.

We have been ordering food here for a few years. Most of the time the food is good. We ordered food Christmas Day. We were told 2 hours which we were okay with because we planned on having diner later. We ordered shrimp and lobster sauce. We seemed to have more lobster sauce than shrimp. To charge us for a shrimp dinner to put in so few shrimp is not right

This is the Chinese food equivalent of being "The nicest guy in prison". It is not a real accomplishment. Many covid precautions, including plexiglass, 2 customers at a time, but if one of the 3 chefs is unmasked it kind of means your precautions are window dressing. The brown rice was undercooked and hard, the schezuan beef was not spicy at all and not too tasty. The steamed chicken and veggies were fine as was the chicken and broccoli. The soup was salty. Better than almost all, but still, that isn't saying much.

I go out of my way to order from here. Other places are not as good as they used to be or just not good at all

If you want the WORST Chinese food, The Bamboo Wok is it. I was just there today. Not tables just take out. Service to order was very slow. I ordered Beer Szechuan @ $13.99 What I received was a gooey mess of standard chow mien with tough inedible beef slices thrown in. Very watery, NO spice and totally forgettable. I also ordered Gen Taso's Chicken @ $13.99 which was awful. It had a thick paste sauce that was excessively loaded with sugar Another loser. I also ordered an egg roll which was way over fried and tasted like dried paper with straw. This Bamboo Wok is TERRIBLE in every way. Go elsewhere or you will be sorry.

Surprisingly good. Much better than the one in coconut creek a few years ago. Glad we gave it another chance, we will be back.

Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in South Florida! As a New Yorker, I am spoiled when it comes to Chinese food and, unfortunately, wasn't able to find Chinese restaurants in Florida that tasted similar to the food back home....until this place! The food tasted amazing and you could feel how fresh and high quality the ingredients were! Because the ingredients were good to begin with, they didn't need to drown them in sauces to make the dishes taste decent, and so the food felt light and properly prepared. We ordered sesame chicken and seafood delight and both dishes were perfect and well balanced.

Little crazy with Coronavirus protection measures but an old community are most of the customer and they feel safe. Food is amazing.

We have tried many takeout Chinese places, and bamboo wok is 'the winner' for us. We love their sesame chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, wonton soup, beef with broccoli, and more. All delicious, cooked perfectly.

My second time buying a wonderful meal from Bamboo Wok on Jog Road in Boynton Beach, slightly north of Delray Beach in Palm Beach County, FL. A few friends recommended this small take out only restaurant and a few weeks ago I ordered garlic chicken and pork lo-mein with the dinner combination. We requested hot and sour soup and wonton soup. Egg rolls were included. I was very impressed that the food had a pleasant aroma. sort of a mild jasmine the food was not "heavy" or greasy. It is definitely more Mandarin and not at all like the greasy artery clogging Cantonese. My dinner combo Sunday night, December 27th, 2020 cost was $10.99. When I called in my order, they told me it would take 35 minutes since it was the dinner rush. My order was ready when I arrived. I like the food at Bamboo Wok better than Bird Nest Restaurant on Military Trail north of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach..where I found recent meals too greasy.

Sometimes there is a wait but that means its worth it and it sure is. The food is never disappointing.

Great Chinese Cuisine. Always Satisfying

I agree with the other bad reviews. When you get home to a waiting family and the order is wrong and missing food it is a pain. When everyone is ready to eat, you don't want to have to drive back and forth again, another 30 minutes. Most people just deal with this and don't do anything. What can you do? Write a bad review? Most people won't wite given my experience I can't imagine it doesn't happen to more people. The "rude" lady mentioned in other posts offered me $5, refused to refund for missing dishes, and told me to dispute it on my credit card. This review won't matter to anyone until it happens to you. You have no recourse for bad food or missing items here. It is a terrible feeling when a dinner is ruined and there is nothing you can do. Before you say I should have checked my order, you are right, I should have. This is the way the rude lady probably thinks also.

My first time ordering from this restaurant and by far has been the worst chinese food i had ever had. The lady that takes orders over the phone is super rude. I will never again order from this place ever again. Hope we dont get sick.

The food was cooked very well, the portions were plenty with out being over priced, eveey tasted fresh and delicious, and best of all they have clean and healthy menu options. The Buddha Delight came with large, beautiful shrimp, sea scallops, crab, and tons of fresh crunchy vegetables. The sesame chicken was well cooked so nothing tasted soggy or had to much sauce. The egg rolls were fried to perfection and did not drip oil like so many places serve. They have fried wantons with red sauce which is a real treat for those of us who miss authentic NY Chinese food. Best of all their pork and beef dishes are all lean meats so you do not get a bite of congealed fat or chewy bits. It's just over 20 min for us to drive there, but we will gladly make the effort and pass several other Chinese places to get to the delicious food that Bamboo Wok makes!!!

Chicken and broccoli tasted like paste. Was it really chicken? It was HORRIBLE. Never again! The only thing worth eating was the white rice!

The reviews are so mixed either people love or hate Bamboo Wok. When we first moved in our neighbors recommended it as the best takeout. Everybody here says it's the most like New York, not salty, not greasy with the crispiest wings around. I ordered a dinner combination with barbecued spareribs, Fried rice, an eggroll and wonton soup. My husband ordered orange beef with brown rice and an eggroll. We had to try the fried chicken wings as well. I was told to order early because if we want dinner around 6 o'clock we will end up waiting until after seven. I called in in our order at 4:35 my husband was home with our dinner by 5:15. The portions were very generous, our food was piping hot and we enjoyed it. There were lots of noodles, Fortune cookies and plastic containers filled with soy sauce, duck sauce and mustard. Food was well packed, the eggrolls were wrapped in paper so they were crispy and not soggy, the soup nor meals leaked. This wasn't the best Cantonese food we had but it was a treat and we enjoyed it. Portions was so large they were going to have it again for dinner tomorrow night.

WE only go to Bamboo Wok for take out. For the most part it is the only Chinese restaurant we go to. The food is consistently good. Service good. Portions very large. Tryit yo will love it.

Authentic Chinese cuisine. Good ingredients.

So, a friend and myself went on Christmas to place a take-out order. Friend wanted to order a dish and asked them to hold the scallions and I wanted my order with garlic sauce instead of brown sauce. Was advised " no special orders, it's Chrismas". So we left and went to nearby "China Town" restaurant on Hagen Ranch Road. They did do special orders and order was over $5 cheaper. We were thinking what the reason could have been for refusing special orders on Christmas and all we could come up with was that they must have been making larger portions to save time and not cooking each order separately as they normally do. In other words, greed. We will not be back to Bamboo Wok, after giving them business for over 9 years.

Great Chinese food. The closest I have found to my favorite place in NJ! Love their fried wontons, boneless spare ribs, beef and broccoli, all the usual! My new go to spot for Chinese! Fun fact, there are three Bamboo Wok locations. 3 siblings, each owns one. Boca, this place, and Coconut Creek.

The Boca location is excellent. This one rivaled NY. Szechuan beef was tender and spicy. The steamed Chicken and Broccoli was very fresh. Wonton soup a bit saly, but overall excellent.

Chinese food New York City Style is all it said it was. Had the Shrimp fried rice and the shrimp was popping and a lot of it.

My cousin who is originally from New York highly recommended this place, and ever since then my entire family has been in love with this place. All my local Chinese restaurants & takeout don't compare. The food here is quality and their meat is real, no filler added. Great soups and eggrolls. I've tried so much on their menu, not yet to be disappointed. Not the nicest decor inside, but it is always busy here, and super busy on the weekends! All my relatives & friends I have told about this place are hooked and go out of their way to get Chinese food from here. I was starting to lose hope on finding New York style, quality Chinese food in Florida until Bamboo Wok.

House Special Fried Rice made to order. Nice flavor, shrimp tender and sweet flavor. A little pricey for large order, about $1.50 more than others I've visited.

This is a very nice takeout place and the food is generally quite good Unfortunately they do not deliver so you do have to go out and get the food yourself the chicken chow fun was very very good as word steamed wontons soup is a little salty but the people are very nice not salty at all and I would recommend this place for takeout

Busy, small Chinese takeout in a strip shopping center. Some of their dishes are really pretty good-many are average,but the owners have been dubbed " Dragon Ladies " by some of my friends. They're not particularly courteous or friendly to the clientele-especially when they're busy! Sesame Chicken is quite good,as are many of their noodle dishes. Much of the rest is run-of-the-mill Cantonese-style takeout. You can enjoy a pretty good takeout dinner for not too much money, but--don't try to make small-talk when you arrive , and while waiting.

I order here everytime I'm in town. My grandfather is pricky but loves this place. It's no frills, good portions and fair prices. We're big fans of the sesame chicken combo.

There food is ACTUALLY fresh. Do not go to any other chinese food place, they all suck. This one is AMAZING! I hope they continue this quality and love with their food for years to come and I'll keep eating here twice a week!

Great veggie vegan options if you let them know they will work with you

We had previously gotten takeout food here, even though it was 25 minutes round trip from our house. Food had been much better than it is now. Food recently has become somewhat tasteless.

Best Chinese food in our area. We have been to a few restaurants and this is "by far" the best and consistent. They get a lot of orders in the evening so you may wait a little longer when you go to pick up but the food is well worth the wait. Food is fresh and has excellent flavor.
