Overall a great place to hangout with friends. They have many tapas and drink options. We ordered tapas in set of four and the first set - chorizos with figs, pork belly, mushroom croquettes and gumbos/shrimp were all amazing. The second set of - beets, anchovies, crab cakes etc were all just okay. The drinks were flavorful. I tried their gin and tonics Valencian and Galician. They both were potent and refreshing. In dessert our server recommended olive cake. We did not like it as it was dense and had normal cake flavor

Been many times. Solid wine list at average prices for the area. Food can be hit or miss when busy but in general its a favorite spot when in the area.

I had amazing time, thanks to the manager Chris. Great atmosphere amazing food and the service was top-notch. I was honestly just trying to kill some time. I went there to just sit down and have a bite and I had a whole experience.

Consistently very good. Extensive wine selection though not everything is worth drinking. Food always top. Mangalica is amazing. The city recently rejuvenated Summer Street which has added al fresco dinning space. It's super nice now!

My favorite restaurant. I visited on a Friday night and the service, atmosphere, and food was amazing. Christopher greeted us and gave a friendly goodbye and Amanda was a great server. The Alebrijas and Guns and Roses cocktails are very good. We ordered 6 dishes and the best were the pickeled beet salad, patatas bravas, albondigas, and the bikini. I highly recommend this spot for a date night or sitting at the bar by yourself is just and pleasant. I also recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait as this place gets very busy.

Stopped for a quick bite while driving north on 95. Was amazing. Steak and eggs tapas incredible. Hummus and caponata both excellent. Our server knew we were in a hurry and gave us great and quick service

We came here while visiting Stamford based on a local recommendation. We mostly ordered from the tapas menu - the gambas al ajillo were the standout for me and my husband loved the squash blossoms so much we ended up ordering two of them. All in all a great place to have some delicious food in a cozy ambience, I am looking forward to our next time soon. A big shoutout to our server Madeline - sweetest ever with her awesome recommendations. Since it was our first time at Barcelona she made sure our dessert was on the house- the flan which was just the perfect amount of creamy and sweet

We recently celebrated my fiancé’s 50th birthday at Barcelona Stamford, and it was an unforgettable experience! We opted for the Chef’s Tasting Menu, which was an incredible value and a culinary delight. Each dish was expertly paired with wines that perfectly complemented the flavors, thanks to their knowledgeable staff. A special shoutout to Harold, Chris, Gerslyn, and Jane for their outstanding service; they truly made the evening special. We were also thrilled to meet Chef Maximino Rivera, who came out personally to greet us. His attention to detail and passion for his craft were evident in every bite. Last - the place is just a vibe in general. And if you haven't tried one of their uncorked wine tasting events - sign up immediately when they open them up! I absolutely recommend Barcelona Stamford to everyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!

Over all good place for tapas. The tapas is nothing like the one in Spain but still good. Service is good as well not server was knowledgeable and recommend good fishers and wine. The place has been in Stamford for many years and consistent.

July 23, 2024: I had visited the establishment a few times since the original review 2 years ago. The most recent visit was on Saturday, July 20. Everything was excellent. I think it deserves a 4 star rating. For most parts, it was enjoyable excepted for the steak was a bit tough. The biggest blunder was serving luke warm cappuccino and coffee with desserts.

Phenomenal food & hospitality will bring us back again & again. Great for intimate dinner or private party.

Loved the atmosphere and the service was amazing. Very friendly and the food was really good. I went to one in DC and this gave the same vibes

The only Barcelona we'd visited before was in New Haven; excited to be able to go to the Barcelona in Stamford and we were not disappointed. Wonderful wine selection -- loved our server's recommendation -- and the tapas are always scrumptious. Something for everyone's taste. Great ambience, great service.

We love Barcelona Stamford! The food is always great. Our favorite dishes are the paella, chicken pimento, prawns, octopus, pork belly. The staff makes the dining experience even better. Manager Christopher Flores is such a warm welcoming guy. He is personable, attentive and treats customers like family. He always makes sure you have the best experience there. We are new to Stamford and absolutely Loved Barcelona. Manager, Christopher was warm and welcoming as was our server Karen. We were hungry and ordered many items and each was better than the next. Recommend mushroom croquettes, empanadas, squash blossoms, meatballs, and my surprise stars, roasted cauliflower with Labneh and patatas bravas Will dine here again without a doubt. Stellar

Great vibe but came very short on service (Saturday night), our waiter was informative and kind but clearly short handed and too busy to check on us, bring us water or sell us more wine/cocktails. Definitely need to look into staffing during prime time. All the tables were looking for assistance, more bread, water, and drinks. Food was tasty, cooked well, paella especially tasty. I was expecting more, especially after being to the location in DC that was spot on. Disappointed to say the least.

Came to try out the vegetarian paella (asked for no aioli so it was vegan) and was so pleased with it, we were lucky to have it done realively quickly because it's made to order fresh and it was incredibly delicious with warm flavors that perfectly compliment the tapas and crisp starter bread we got! About half the tapas are vegan or vegetarian and most had such complex flavors especially the pickled olives and eggplant which were tangy and spicy I wish I could try every dish on the menu! Our waitress was also very helpful and nice, overall the best tapas experience

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere and outdoor decor were so “sceney”, cute, and inviting. That staff were quick, kind, and attentive. I ordered white sangria, roasted rainbow carrots, chicken pimientos, and chocolate cake with coconut ice cream.

Great place, a little bit expensive and always so busy to get a table but once you’re in is great! Food is amazing, drinks as well, I work in spain for a while and I always miss the type of culture they have around food and Barcelona Bar definitely has it. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stamford. I enjoy many of the tapas and the paella. My favorite dishes are the Pulpo, Pork Belly, Spinach & Chickpea Cazuela, and meatballs. I love the vibe of the restaurant, and the service is always great. It’s a perfect restaurant to sit outside in the summer or very cozy during the winter. Definitely recommend!

this was a very busy Sunday evening visit with no reservation. Ended up at the bar and service was very good and helpful. I went there with some friends on a Friday night. We ordered some drinks and some small plates to start. I wanted Paella, and they said it would be 30 minutes to get that. The various small plates were delicious, especially the beef. The paella was okay. I opted for the seafood version. And I don't think I would get that again. It just wasn't that flavorfull. But all in all we all had a good time and the service was fantastic!

Barcelona was an experience. Wines are priced low compared to other restaurants. The menu is primarily Tapas. We had the hummus, mushroom croquettes, and split a full seafood paella 🥘.

I can’t say enough about this place. The service is top notch, the food is incredible and the manager, Chris, fantastic! The menu is constantly changing, but you will never experience a bad dish. There are multiple locations, but Stamford is definitely the best!

I can’t give this Barcelona location enough stars!!! I have tried a few of their other locations, all of which were amazing in their own ways, but Stamford will always have my heart. The staff here is out of this world and their customer service is undefeated. Chris is such an amazing manager and always greets my party and I with the warmest greeting. Everything runs smoothly with him around. Alex is one of my favorite servers and I will never cease to be amazed by his excellent memory. He is always on top of everything and so accommodating and friendly. The food here is like none other! I can never get enough of this place! They offer free bread and olive oil - who doesn’t love that?! The menu staples and changes are never a disappointment, and are always so fresh. Don’t even get me started about the dessert. My experience is not complete without the olive oil cake! The ambiance here is unmatched and truly is a vibe. They stay open pretty late during the week too which is awesome! All that to say - this is hands down one of the best restaurants, not only every where, but especially in Stamford.

I will 100% be going back to this Barcelona location. The manager, Christopher, is incredible. He made sure that my boyfriend and I had an amazing experience Sunday night. The night before, we had tried to go there and didn’t end up staying to eat because it was a bit too loud for us and there was a delay turning over the table I reserved due to a lingering party. He gave us his card and told us to come back the next night and he would make sure we had a good time. The next night, the ambiance was perfect and Christopher was very attentive the whole night, making sure we had everything we needed and helping us find some delicious items on the menu based on our food preferences. (I mean, every bite I took from his suggestions was awesome if I’m being totally honest.) Our waitress, Amanda, was incredibly kind as well and took care to answer all of our questions, even if she had to ask kitchen staff and come back. If you like a lowkey vibe, go for a nice Sunday dinner — you won’t regret it!

My husband and I had the most perfect meal this week at Barcelona in Stamford. We have been here several times before and each time we are wowed with the deliciousness of the tapas. What takes the cake, so to say, is their impeccable service. With a full dining room, and several couples on deck waiting for a seat, we were promptly greeted kindly by the most incredible host named Christopher who made us feel taken care of every step of the way. He handled the crowd with ease as he frequently checked in with a positive attitude and smile, extending this courtesy throughout the meal by visiting and chatting us up, lovely as could be. Our waiter Alex met this kindness with his own, making jokes and handling his tables with promptness and care. Both of these gentlemen coupled with the atmosphere made for a truly wonderful experience. You can’t go wrong at this date-night-approved gem :)

The service was the best we’ve had in Stamford in 2 years- tremendous work by all staff. We both had Sangria and delicious bread to start, followed by tapas. The food was delicious and surprisingly well portioned for tapas- we particularly liked the calamari and the meatballs! We also loved the how the atmosphere blended rustic with industrial, and are excited to come back in the summer to sit on the patio!

Ordered the brunch board. Definitely recommend and easy to share if you're with a bunch of people who want to try different apps. Loved our server, forgot his name, but he definitely made sure we got our bottomless drinks worth before the 3pm cut off. Will be back.

We had an amazing time in Barcelona restaurant. Reservation is definitely recommended ahead of time. Restaurant is cozy and not too noisy, so easy to talk. Portion sizes are okay, and with bread it can be fulfilling. We took couple of tapas, main course, which is shareable and desert and was sufficient. Chicken Pimentos and chocolate cake is worth having. Our server Alex was very helpful and service was quick. Parking can be bit tricky, but there is garage nearby. It's definitely recommended and worth re-visiting

After waiting over 30 minutes for a reservation while others without were seated and then being squeezed into a seat where we were asked to move constantly so servers could maneuver around us. The food finally comes and it is wrong! The restaurant was incredible loud so much so that I could not hear the person next to me (and I don’t mind loud places). Save your frustration and go to one of the other excellent places.

I have been going to Barcelona for years and it never disappoints. It's one of those restaurants that you just have to go back every now and then. Get the Argentinian grill for two. Plus I love the chorizo and figs but everything on the menu is top notch. Don't forget to ask for the crusty bread with olive oil.

Highly recommend! We had an amazing night at Barcelona. The manager, Chris, made us feel so welcomed. The service and food were on point. We had the patatas bravas, the beef empanadas, the championes (mushrooms), fried calamari, meatballs and the Sangria. The place was packed so we’re clearly not the only ones who love this spot.

Really disappointed with service and food. Server was unattentive and dismissive. We had to ask for water twice. The food came out cold and over seasoned. When I mentioned it to the server he barely apologized and did nothing to rectify the situation. It’s a shame because I liked the atmosphere.

We used to go to the Boston locations all of the time. It’s a great spot and the food is always good! Our first time at the Stamford location though we had a 7pm reservation for 2 people and did not get seated until 7:30pm. They kept telling us to go next door (which was also extremely busy) to get a drink and they’d call us when a table was ready. What’s the point of making a reservation?

This place is such a vibe. The food and the drinks are amazing and the experience has been wonderful. I loved everything I ate!! We started the night with a bit of a wait but Chris made it so tolerable and so pleasant! He made the whole night worth the wait! He is kind and patient and he has the type of personality to run a great business! Brad brought us a drink on the house while we waited-so beyond generous!! Our waitress was Karen and she was also very sweet and helpful! I would highly recommend.

The Host Chris was fantastic. He was so accommodating to our large party on a Saturday Night. It was very busy but he remained calm and very courteous to not just us but every guest that walked in. The host in a restaurant is really the first impression and face of the restaurant and he definitely left a lasting great first impression. Aside from the fantastic host Chris our waitress Karen was very enthusiastic and friendly. She was so nice to the guests in our party. And made sure that we were aware of what we were ordering and answered any questions we had. I can not wait to come back in the future ! Thank you Karen and thank you Chris !!!

I dined with friends at Barcelona last night and what a great experience. We had to wait a bit for our table but they served complimentary sangria and tapas while we waited. Excellent touch! We had many of their tapas: shrimp, octopus, deviled eggs, steak, oysters, etc and everything Chef Max made was delicious! The seafood paella was so flavorful. The wine flights were so good too. Highly recommend!!

Good food , over dependent on the dish - can be overpriced. Staff is horrible, will make fun of people with disabilities in their face, ignore you at the bar to talk to coworkers about weekend plans, and regularly forget to put "your order in"

While walking around Manhattan, a stranger struck up a conversation. My fiance and I told her that we were on our way to Stamford and she adamantly recommended this wine bar saying that their tapas were life changing-she was not wrong. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with such friendly and kind staff. Chris, the manager introduced himself, and welcomed us to the restaurant. Chris was very helpful and came by a few times throughout the course of our meal to make sure we were enjoying everything. Since we did not have much experience with tapas, we asked our waiter Alonso what he recommended, and he made sure to get an idea of what we would like and our tastes, and made wonderful recommendations. Our favorites were the ham and cheese croquettes and the calamari! We look forward to coming back when we are next in Stamford, and we recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!

I went there to celebrate my birthday, and it was my very first time there. The service from the waiter and staff was exceptional, and he even sang for my birthday. The food portions, however, were frustratingly small, and in my opinion, not worth the money I paid. My venison tartare, unbeknownst to me, was supposed to be served raw and cold. Not very appetizing and complete opposite from what I had expected. My $12 cocktail drink consisted of a very large ice cube and maybe 4-5 sips of cocktail. The men’s room was also out of order, and I Was told that I needed to go outside the restaurant and over two doors to Buffalo wild wings to use their restroom. When I spoke to the manager, I didn’t even realize he was the manager, because he was dressed like a college student with his shirt untucked and ungroomed hair. Now I understand circumstances happen that can be out of their control. Everything just seemed a bit unorganized. Not a terrible experience overall, but I have my doubts about dining there again in the future.

Brandon was so rude and arrogant. He made me feel like I want worthy of dining here. I guess you have to look a certain way to dine with Brandon..we are in Connecticut not Spain…

Food not good. def a rip off. happy hour a joke. beers were TINY. fit for a munchkin! laughable. thats happy hour? def the WORST happy hour in stamford. The tapas were MEH. when i asked for a recommendation waitress said 'drunken goat' which- to my dismay- when delivered- was just a minuscule grilled cheese sandwich. For dinner? REALLY? Wont be back. This place must have been sold. I brought another couple and was so embarrassed that i recommended this place. Not the way it used to be. Plus- had to ASK for the bread (REALLY?) which was sliced in 1/8 inch slides! Not like the former Barcelona I knew. Yes has gone downhill.

This place was great!! Service was friendly and quick, ambience is warm, food is 4/5. We ordered probably around 10 apps but wh really loved the patatas bravas and the empanadas. Both were the stars of the show. We ordered a veggie paella and the seafood paella. I’ve definitely had better paella but these weren’t bad. They were a bit dry, but it didn’t take away from the great experience we had. I would certainly come again.

I’m usually not the biggest fan of Spanish food but will be having more of it since I’ve had this tapas place. The ambience of the place is incredible and they have a lovely staff too. It’s great for date night or just a meal with friends. We didn’t have a wait when we came in. Try the croquettes and the spiced beef empanadas!
