Small upstairs bar, reminiscent of a classic Boston bar. Awesome decor, good beer selection, and a jukebox you can control via phone app.

food was great (I mean it was AMAZING. impeccable.) but the overall experience was a little weird dive bar vibes without dive bar prices none of the menus were updated and there was a growth in the vinegar bottle I scooped up to try to put on my fries none of that was to discredit the tavern, just to have you understand the atmosphere. I had a great time and will be going back soon.

We wanted to get a last drink and we’re very sober. The bartender and bouncer were immediately very rude. Extremely rude. I have never left a review before but this was over the top. It was 20min to closing so I’m assuming that was the push to get people out of the bar. They told us we were too drunk although we had had one beer each and forced us to leave. When I asked why the bouncer threatened to fight me. I called the cops. Do not go here. Ever.

Absolutely the best clam chowder in Boston! Great little “hole in the wall” bar. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. (It’s not very big, and it can be a little slow if they are busy, but definitely worth the wait!) We were only in Boston a few short days, but we made time to go back before we headed home.

Great place to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes football. Food is good and drinks are reasonably priced

Good luck if you're coming in from north of the border. They won't let you in unless you have your passport. Only place I've been to in America that doesn't accept your driver's license.

The fish-and-chips are made with fresh haddock and it was fantastic! We stayed across the street at the hotel and are glad we found this place! A lot of history. The owner is quite the character!

The rudest staff ever. 6 people in the bar and we can’t get served. Barmaid with major attitude problem. We could’t even get our bill to get out. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else.

Decent bar. No straight liquor, but lots of cocktail options and beers and Ciders. Food is good. Some usual bar fare with house specials as well. I had the Conch fritters and chowder- which were prepared in house. Barracuda's was a lot less crowded on the night we landed there. There are at least 2 other pubs in same neighborhood.

Cozy local bar with a great draft list of new england brews and a small, but delicious menu. We got the conch fritters, clam chowder and disco fries and they all hit the spot. Our server Shayla was super cool, very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend stopping in!

Amazing food on Taco Tuesday! Only $2 each and all delectable. The service was a bit below par, however, and had a bad encounter with a hostess. But that did not ruin the perfect night full of delicious bites. A bit steep in price for all other menu items. Definitely worth visiting!

Great spot for after work drinks. They do a taco special on Tuesdays. Cold beer, tasty food and a relaxed casual atmosphere.

Great local feel without the tourist trappings. The beer menu was impressive, however more in bottles than draft. The menu isn't huge but the food was delicious with generous portions. The 'Cuda roll' was amazing!!! We will definitely return.

Barracuda used to have a great staff and good food. The staff has become so rude and lazy I feel like an inconvenience there now. Had the blackened chicken sandwich the other night and, not only was it cold, it was so overcooked and hard I almost cut my mouth on the meat. The bartender didn't care much about it and left it on the bill. It's very sad to see a great spot start to crumble. I write this not because of the one bad sandwich, or the one bad night. It has continued and constantly been losing quality in their food, but more so service. I used to enjoy coming here but will not be back. Hopefully they start to care again

I just happened upon this place while just meandering the streets and looking for a place to eat. Seating is VERY LIMITED, but I was able to find a seat at the bar. I ordered a burger, and it was cooked perfectly ! The beer selection was top-notch, the food selection is limited, but a perfect variety. It's definitely a place to just grab a quick bite with friends, catch up after work or shopping or , like me, enjoy people watching !! The restaurant is child-friendly, however, this place is, as I said before,very very small and I would not suggest bringing young children if they are not capable of remaining in their seats or are overly rambunctious wonderful kids that love to explore. This is not to say the tavern doesn't allow children, but the space is very very limited and and probably not an ideal choice for families or large parties !!

Amazing specials, great food and drinks, awesome deal on oysters, and awesome hospitality. Got recommended this place by the folk at Harpoon brewery and was one of the best recommendations I ever got. 10/10

I love all of the specials like 75 cent oysters Sunday and Monday, Taco Tuesday, 25 cent Wing Wednesday and all of the tapas along with the great choices of beer's makes Barracuda Tavern one of my favorites restaurants in Boston. Its perfect to go to before and or after a Boston Bruins and or Boston Celtics.

Simple pub setup in a great location with a not so great menu. Food selection is light, beers on tap and bottles/cans

We (my 44 year-old husband, 6 year-old daughter and myself, 37) attempted to have dinner here only to be turned away because your front door guy has a strange understanding of the law. He stopped us and asked for I.D. I presented mine. My husband, who has a gray beard, is clearly over 21 but left his wallet at the hotel. Regardless, my husband doesn’t drink and had no intention to drink. We were there for dinner. We even had a photo of my husband’s I.D. On his phone and the guy refused to seat him. Apparently the I.D.-less 6 year-old was cool. Where in the law does it state that restaurant patrons capable of possessing picture I.D, must present said I.D. In order to purchase food? We found dinner, elsewhere. The best part; when we told this story to the concierge at our hotel; he described your front door guy (heavyset, Mohawk). When we confirmed it was the same man, our concierge said he was an ... and we weren’t the first people to have trouble with him. Consider taking the time to properly train him. He was polite but was convinced that he’d be breaking the law if he served dinner to an adult who didn’t present I.D.

Came here for taco Tuesday! It's $2 a taco but you have to spend $10 on regular priced food per person first. Got the clam chowder, cajun fries, and 2 fish tacos. The two sides were very tasty but the fish in the fish taco was the smallest piece of fish and was mostly breading. Probably wouldn't come here again if not for the specials or beers.

Lol always great to keep adding to your table, laughs and conversation with very accommodating staff!!

averns aren't really my thing. But if you name your tavern after a voracious ocean predator, then hey, why not. I'll give it a shot. It was a Monday. Lunchtime. Apparently, it was Mac and Cheese day so they had several specials pertaining to the dish. Appetizing options were abundant on the menu. However, I was often distracted by the authentic nautical design of the restaurant. Trust me, I know a good knot when I see one. Ultimately, I ordered the fish tacos, which were amazing. This definitely settles the debate between my favorite ways to eat haddock (raw or cooked). And three mid-sized tacos for $10 isn't bad for Downtown Boston standards. Great tacos, great atmosphere. I'll be back.

This is one of my favorite places to go for drinks or food in all of Boston. A true hole-in-the-wall, down-to-earth, bar. The staff is very polite, drinks are potent and reasonable, and the food will have you asking for more. The atmosphere is wonderful, all the crazies usually stay away from this place, mostly because it can be hard to find, similar to a speakeasy. If you can find this place, check it out!

Pretty good food, good beer selection, and quick service

$1 oysters, slider Monday's, taco Tuesday's, and $.25 wing Wednesday's make this place a solid stop most of the week! Then you get to their beer selection. They always have local beer on tap, and a great diversity of bottles and cans.

Good food, great prices for lunch. They serve food late and the place can get pretty energetic late at night. A great little joke in the wall in a hidden alley at the heart of the downtown area.

The service was absolutely amazing despite the bar being packed on St. Paddy’s day. Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive and checked in on us frequently even though she was the only one there and the bar was super busy.
