Such a great atmosphere and everyone is so nice! We love stopping in for a quick drink and app, to dining in with the whole family. A great place to visit if you like top notch bbq!

What a great place! This was our first time on Saturday and our server Emily was top notch! Super cheerful and kind. The atmosphere was awesome just like a chill place for some great BBQ brews and watching some sports. The food was phenomenal. The corn beef burnt ends were something beyond amazing and the tavern fries were covered and smothered in delicious! The bbq sauce was so good we bought one to go! Will certainly come back!

Update, August 2024. Tried again, food was dry and not very good. Son had the ribs, I had the brisket and pulled pork. Just nothing good to report. Not terrible, but for the cost and it is the "king" should have been better.

Didn't fine in so can't rate atmosphere, however the staff was friendly and attentive. Food was great. Will certainly come back for more...

Was seated pretty quickly at our table but no one bothered to take our drink orders. The table next to us was seated shortly after us and were able to order and got their food and no one even bothered to ask us if we wanted to order. We tried getting some employees attention but it was like we were invisible. After 20 mins of waiting, we walked out. The hostess told us to have a good night. I’m sure if we were white things would have gone differently.

The food was very good. I had the Nashville hot honey chicken it was very good. My wife had the burger. Had the devil egg potato salad. And the pretzel appetizer. Wish we lived closer. We would visit more.

Great brisket. Great pulled pork. 3 main varieties of BBQ sauce. We like them all. Great side dishes. I don't know what's in their potato bacon cheese onion and ? But it is total comfort food. We like the patio that is pet friendly. My husband likes the good beer varieties. Good prices.

As a foodie I endorse this establishment! Great food, great service, great management! My new favorite BBQ place. Ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, and smoked sausage were my favorite! Also, loved all the sides! Gluten free options were a plus too! In beautiful downtown Huntley

Food is great but the service is awful. Waited 20 minutes with only fldrinks and had to call the server over just to get our orders taken. The other waitress was ignoring all the other tables and only catering to a party for a good tip.

Beautiful location inside and out!! Another restaurant where "taking orders by memory" doesn't work. Both orders were wrong. Other than that, the server was kind and attentive. Some of the meats were delicious, others (brisket was 60%fat, 40%meat). The out of control child (screaming, crying, running around) capped off the otherwise peaceful meal...not any fault of BBK. I may try the Woodstock location, but this was our last attempt here.

Brisket was fatty, best part of the burger was the cheese, mac was dry, turkey club was half gristle. This place was so much better in the Woodstock location. As soon as they opened the Huntley location, they took items off the menu and the food quality tanked. Shame they closed the Woodstock location. Tried Huntley 3 times and was disappointed all 3 times. Would rather go across the street to Parkside for a Fish Fry.

Fancy beer taps and hot chicks.

My wife and I were really craving some BBQ after watching the new season of BBQ showdown on Netflix lol. So we were looking around for options and came across this place in our search. Reviews looked good and the menu seemed interesting so we decided to give it a shot. We are SO glad that we did! The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. I got a full rack of St Louis ribs and my wife got the mac n cheese with brisket. And if you love craft beer like I do then you will also love their versatile craft beer menu from local breweries here in the Northwest and Chicagoland area. Our first experience at BBQ King smokehouse was amazing and we are making plans to go back soon with friends.

One picture is ordering burnt ends portion in January and the other is today. I got the 2x2 combo with pulled pork, brisket, mac, and cornbread. Everything was dry. The Mac was gross. The brisket was so fatty I think about half was not eatable fat. Super disappointed for $72 after tip and won’t be back. Our server Zoe was great though!

The food was amazing and the service was great! Mango beer was one of the best beers I have ever had! A hidden gem!

Beautiful day to sit outside for lunch! The chairs aren't the most comfortable for wider hips 😉 We had the newer pretzel charcuterie board, all delicious and cheese sauce was the 💣 Highly recommend the pulled pork and fries; coleslaw meh. Dave, our server, was great 👍

To me, it was just oK. My friends' sweet potato fries were good, but they said they've had better elsewhere. I did not like the cornbread either. Overall, the food wasn't terrible. It just wasn't that good to me. The Patron Margarita was oK as well. I guess it's worth giving it a try.

The food was amazing and the server was lovely. Brisket was very flavorful and the street corn might have been the best I've ever had. They lose a star for insisting on an extra charge for sharing?! Why am I paying more for food I'm already paying for, merely because my daughter is having some? If they added more food to make it more sharable I wouldn't mind, but charging MORE simply based on how many people are eating is a stupid policy. There are lots of other good BBQ places that don't charge you for anything but the food, no matter what you decide to do with it.

I have had Broasted chicken in many fine diners but, this was hands down the best ever. We were a party of 5 and no one was disappointed with any of the meals. It's worth the trip. We will be back.

Came here because of a recommendation - I will say the waitress was very nice & helpful. But they said that sharing food at the table was not allowed & we would be charged an extra $8 per plate for sharing. Totally insane! My girlfriend and I are always allowed to split at other restaurants and literally have never experienced this.

Been going to BBQ king for years always good service and food!

The smells as soon as you are in the area overwhelm your senses. We had tried a bit over everything. The nachos were not what i had expected. There is a hint of sweet in there. Brisket, you cant go wrong. It melts. No sauce is needed, that is how you know it is done right!

$$ It was okay and portions were a decent size but a little pricey for a BBQ place. Food tasted ok but flavor a bit bland. As far as we could find, no option for sides of fruit to counterbalance the heaviness of the main course. The facility has a main floor and an upper floor for seating. (Upper floor was closed when we were there.) Parking is available on street out front and in small public lot in back but we found if any other event is happening in the area, parking is at a premium and you might find yourself parking down a side street a block or so away. 06/08/24 Not much changed from original review. Prices still a bit high for BBQ place but portions good. Prices in restaurant are a bit more than shown on website. Staff was pleasant and overall atmosphere good.

They charge a $6 fee to split a plate of subpar food at a BBQ place where portions are enormous. Might as well post a sign that says $20 minimum per patron.

This is by far, the absolute best BBQ I have had from a restaurant!!! We got a little of everything and we were really impressed with the quality of everything!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it all!!! Highly recommend this place!!! Located right in cozy downtown Huntley.

Simply Great Food. It's been a little while since we've been back to BBQ Kings, but yes, the Pig Out and the smoked wings are sooo good. My wife and I enjoyed the wings bone-in smoked to perfection and the smoked sausage wow 👌. The brisket was amazing, super juicy fell apart so nicely. Also, the pulled pork, cornbread and sweet potato fries are excellent.

I tried the BBQ pork Cuban sandwich with sweet potatoes fries. I have to admit it was far more food than I should have eaten. Very good, great service.

Came here for the Mother's Day brunch and left super disappointed. We had confirmed reservations for a large group and they were not ready for us when we arrived (they were not busy at all). We waited as they scrambled to put some tables together for us and then they left us sitting there awkwardly with no communication. When we were finally able to go up and get our food, most of the stations were already empty or had very little food left that did not look at all appetizing. The biscuits were rock hard even covered in gravy, pancakes tasted like a strange cornbread, waffles were not good, pasta was not cooked all the way and was not edible. They ran out chicken tenders and fries. They did not have ham as advertised. We asked for a pitcher of iced tea since that was what most of us were drinking, they gave us a half full pitcher of luke warm tea and we finished it we were told they ran out of that too. The only thing I enjoyed was the turkey and brisket. To top it off they started sweeping under our table as we were still eating. We almost always go to brunch for Mother's Day and have never had an experience like this before. I have no idea how they can justify the high price they charge for this "brunch", but I was embarrassed bringing my guests here and do not feel like any of us got our moneys worth. I was really excited to enjoy my break from cooking on Mother's Day but ended up feeling completely ripped off.

One of the most disrespectful places I’ve been to. The most disgusting chilly I ever had the displeasure of enduring. Who makes chili with Italian sausage… fing gross. Never again and will advise anyone to stay away!

Had the We be jamming burger again tonight. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Can't wait to come back for a different one. Great food, great service. Picked up the smoked turkey for Thanksgiving it was awesome. The dark meat was the best I have ever had.

What a lovely day to have dinner outside at BBQ King!! The food was delicious - bang bang cauliflower, chicken tenders and a bison burger. The sangria and Kona beer were tasty too! Service was great. Adam is always prompt and ready to serve. Thanks BBQ king!

Good smoked meat 🍖 brisket and pulled pork are what I got, and I'm very happy with their smoked meats. bbq sauce is good, and more of a vinegar base is not my favorite style but still was very tasty sauce. Our waitres was sweet and prompt, and food came out very quickly at maybe 3pm ish. But I will definitely return for the pulled pork and brisket. I need to try the chicken out. It looked amazing??

After multiple server glitches, manager Michelle saved the day! Her response could not have been better and this woman exudes every quality a leader in the food service industry should have...well done, BBQ King!

We came for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. Justin, our waiter was very personable and gave us great service. Our food was cooked perfectly and very good. They even surprised the birthday girl with a robot that brought her birthday dessert to our table. The robot then sang the Happy birthday song. Such a fun night. We will definitely be back soon. Lot of food too!!8

Poor management, food is low class. Had the brisket a couple of times, it’s always over 50% fat. I won’t be back.

Wow, the food was absolutely amazing! I savored every single bite. The cauliflower was incredibly yummy and the brisket was bursting with flavor and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. And don't even get me started on the cornbread - it was moist, sweet, and absolutely delicious!

It was my first time going in and there was a slight mix up with my order. The server and management handled it amazingly. They accommodated me and went out of their way to make sure I had a good experience. The food was good but their service is even better!

Listen y'all...no joke, this place is the real BBQ experience. I couldn't believe the quality & flavor of this food. I challenge anyone to eat here and actually post a serious rebuttal claiming it's not all that.

100% worth it I live about 30 minutes away and I was recommended to this place and it was amazing!!! Steak burger was the best I’ve ever had and the price you couldn’t beat.

BBQ King has become one of our go to places for lunch or dinner. Everything I have ever ordered here has been excellent, as has been the service. Last night our server was Mary, who was very attentive to our table, stopping by frequently to check on us. Michelle, the manager, also stopped by several times. Another server, Zuri, who we have had previously also stopped by to say hello. A very friendly place, indeed! The 4 stars for atmosphere is because it can get pretty loud in there at times. You owe it to yourself to try this place if you're in the Huntley area.

First time here and very impressed with the waitstaff and food. We had the 5 1/2 Platter so we could sample lots of things and everything was so flavorful. The manager was very attentive and checked on us multiple times. We are already planning our next visit!!

Ate there for the first time over the Christmas Holiday. The food is amazingly good and I believe priced fair. The burnt ends and brisket are as good as it gets. Nice selection of sides but not a fan of the Mac and cheese at all. Top notch service as well. I will be a repeat customer!

My family and I made reservations with friends and our children. We had lots of little (energetic kids) and Michelle and Mary were not only super friendly, they were very accommodating and helpful. I’ve been there numerous times and they always ensure you’re feeling welcome. Despite it being a bar/ restaurant atmosphere, it’s not overly loud nor crowded. The food is delicious and always tastes fresh. The kids got the Mac and cheese and weren’t fans of the spices so they replaced it for us without any fuss and totally friendly. To the owners, thank you for having people who care about moms and their children being able to enjoy themselves as much as anyone else. PS bring back the bread and honey butter! 😆

Best BBQ I've ever had. The restaurant is super clean and staff is very professional. My family comes into town next month and this is definitely going to be the first place we go.

Service was extremely SLOW today!!! We love coming here, we very much enjoy the food, the burnt end beef tips are our favorite. The food is always good. But today the service was just unacceptable and super slow!!! We waited forever for our drinks, the appetizer came before our drinks. Then we waited FOREVER for our food, the food came BEFORE they even gave us our plates…and again we waited!!! It was just super slow and backwards…need to step up the game!! We always enjoy our food here, but was super disappointed in the service today!!! When we were given the bill (after paying $120) there wasn’t even “sorry for the slow service today”, again we enjoyed our food, but hope the service will be better next time!!

Found this on Google as we were looking for somewhere close to eat after visiting the local apple farm. Everything we ordered was great. Portions were big. From the ribs to brisket and appetizer sampler, everything was great. Will definitely be back sometime in the future.

Brisket was incredible! First time eating at this place and not the last. The brisket sandwich with fries is a great combo. I had it for takeout and waited no time for my food to be ready. Atmosphere inside was great with the music, friendly staff, clean bathrooms and a nice bar area! Service was good, quick, and friendly. Definitely recommend. Very good overall 5/5.

Stopped here for lunch today with some friends, total table of 4 kids and 4 adults. The place was mostly empty as it was late lunch time. Service was a bit slow but good overall. Food was decent, the mac and cheese is mediocre, the bbq entrees were good. The main reason this place lost 2 stars overall was because of price and the nickel and diming of things like sodas and side substitutions. Every soda refill was tallied. Also they will charge you 0.75 per topping on a burger. Tomato? 0.75, lettuce? 0.75, etc.. I find this a bit petty and not something I have ever experienced at other restaurants. Overall, I will not go back and i recommend that if you visit this place, be ready to pay up.

Best BBQ around!! Hands down. I’ve lived out here for 20 years and have tried them all. I have never been disappointed with the food, the quality, the quantity or the service! I love the variety they offer and love that they always have something new on the menu! The restaurant is clean, the servers have great attitudes and the food is great! If you’re looking for a place to host your next party, they have a beautiful space upstairs. They cater too. I just used them for a family party and everyone loved the food!!

Awful food! I ordered a BBQ Cobb Salad with pulled chicken. The onions, celery and tomatoes were all partially thawed from being frozen. The chicken seemed a few days old. The chili that was also ordered wasn’t even hot all the way through. Definitely won’t be returning.

Burger was heavy so come with an appetite when visiting here for burger. Patties were good with the cheese melted to perfection covering the burger patty. Mac & cheese was cheesy and had an unique tangy flavor.

Ordered BBQ Sausage, dry as a bone, baked beans tasted just like the sausage. Disappointed once again. Will not be coming back.👎

While visiting Huntley we stopped here two years ago. We were impressed with the portion sizes and quality of the food. Now two years later we visited again and glad we did. Wife and I had the brisket, chicken and sausage " Pig out "plates while our son had the Pretzel bomb. For sides we enjoyed the fried potato salad, beans, creamy coleslaw cornbread and fries. Not disappointed one bit. Brisket was fall apart tender with a wonderful bark on the edges, the sausage was juicy and spicy. Chicken was excellent as well. This time we arrived late in the evening and they sold out of their pork for the day but our first experience here we loved the pork. Ordered online to go, food was ready in 25 minutes for pickup. Friendly staff, sitting right in the middle of downtown Huntley across from the park. Plenty of parking, seating indoors @ tables and large bar. Outdoor seating as well. If your in Huntley give them a try.

Manager came over and checked on our table and gave a complimentary sample of coleslaw to see which we liked better. Waitress Bri took care of us very well. Food was phenomenal and would definitely come back. Anytime we come back to Huntley I would love to stop here.

It was our first time here at this location and it was okay. It seemed as though the service was a little slow. The food was pretty good & tasty. My husband especially loved the wings! We have been to the Woodstock location and it seemed as though the service there was a little better.

The few times that I’ve been here has been great and loving the selection of the beer. Which what keeps me looking forward to coming here to try something else new with the food

Stopped in after MORE Brewing's beer fest. Ordered the nachos w/ brisket (a little pricey but absolutely excellent), 2 meat platter (brisket & pork) plus some sides and other apps. All the food was delivered fresh and plated nicely, drinks were well garnished too. Top notch servers is what I'll go back for -- very friendly, attentive, and since I was stupid enough to leave my credit card there, they sent it in the mail the next day to me and wouldn't let me throw an extra tip on my tab to cover the stamps. Little extras go a long way, and I will visit again when I'm in Huntley!

Updated: improved experience and food. Ribs were very tasty, corn bread was good. Sweet potato fries was a bit too salty though. Overall, much better than 4 years ago

The ribs here were average. Ended up getting a margarita while waiting for my Togo order and did not enjoy it (I’m very picky - it was average) The people working were very sweet though. The gentleman taking our order was great and checked on questions for my gluten allergy. They do have gluten free BBQ sauce. And the baked beans were also gluten free.

Owner threatened to send his lawyers after me for sharing my experience with him.

Finally gave this place a try. It wasn't terrible it just wasn't anything special. It was decently busy on a Friday at 7 but we got sat down quickly and was glad we were outside (inside was a little loud). Wife and I split the pick 3 meats and sides meal so we could try different things. Pulled pork was probably the best followed by the smoked sausage and then the brisket (brisket was pretty dry). For the sides we had fries, BBQ baked beans, and mac and cheese. Fries were ok and the beans were good just not my style (I think they are called cowboy beans). The Mac and cheese tasted wierd, almost like a plasticy taste to them. Prices weren't terrible either, think they were in line with others. Overall, it was ok but not great.

Ribs were delicious. But the nachos were lacking... I ordered 2 meats but there was hardly meat in the pile. Was delicious tho.
