Food was great and there was very little wait to get it. Beef ribs recommend.

Luso used to be my favorite Portuguese restaurant, but now the rice, the ribs, the chicken taste different. The hot sauce taste like water . After the original Portuguese owner sold the restaurant to a Dominican, the food taste terrible. Sorry because I’m Dominican.

The service was outstanding and very pleasurable, however, the food was not what I expected at all. The way the food smells when you’re driving or walking down the block is completely different than the non flavorful taste that I wasn’t even expecting. Meaning I expected the food to be flavorful. The rice was hella bland, just regular white rice. And it had a very weird taste. There was absolutely nothing special about this food. I was completely & utterly disappointed because the way these people lied about how amazing this food tasted. I spent $50 dollars for something my 2 year old God son could have possibly made. Then they give you one long kielbasa sausage no peppers no onions nothing just a dried up coiled shaped piece of meat. It’s as if they grilled all of the succulent juices out of the sausage.

Excellent food to go, not much space to eat in and get quite warm with the grill going. Large portions and wonderful flavor. Highly recommend

Best BBq for your buck, seasoning is on point. Only only bad thing is if your dining in, since there is no ac you will be very uncomfortable and sweat while you eat which no one wants. Foods amazing, staff is great, just too hot to dine in the summer. In the spring, fall, and winter it's chill just don't recommend eating there in the summer. Please go thought and get take out.

The same taste same menu everywhere

I used to go here in the 90s when I lived in Jersey, and I went last week. The food is exactly the same. Food was so good and as always can feed four people with just one order. Brought it back home Syracuse, NY, to which my wife was happy as well being from Jersey herself.

The food is very good, only they have raised their prices a lot, and they charge an extra percentage for paying by credit card.

This place used to be great. But today I Picked up food and the fries were stale and tasted like they were fried in old oil. This was not the first time so I want to leave a review . The last time we ordered $200 worth of food for my moms birthday and the same thing happened. The fries were old , the chicken was stale and the ribs were all FAT. Gave them the benefit of the doubt but not anymore. I was a loyal customer before the new owners took over , unfortunately I will not be ordering from here anymore.

The quantity is pretty huge but the quality of the meat is questionable. The steak ribs I purchased were very fatty and the chicken was super dry.

I love this place it's kinda of small and gets really busy but the keep the place really clean and the speed of service is just funominal, food so very delicious, hot and fresh I was very happy I couldn't wait to eat it 😋!

Chicken and beef ribs were cooked very well and the rice too. Everything tasted fresh. This will become my new bbq spot.

I've ordered from here when I lived close.. now I was visiting someone in hospital and had no wallet on me but the owner Carlos and the sweet girl at the counter gave me a monster take home platters of the tastiest BBQ I've had in long time and he just outright gave me the meal without any money truly act of incredible kindness and class... Carlos thank you and God bless you and ur family... much appreciated and will always recommend and eat here forever... thank you my friend

The food was delicious and so reasonably priced! I ordered chicken rice beans and French fries which knocked my socks off! Going back for more! Food was outstanding, not greasy, seasoned too perfection but not at all salty! Amazing!

Best BBQ ribs i have tasted in a long time

Anytime I visit Perth Amboy I take the opportunity to stop by and purchase some food the other day I stop by on my way home had to catch three connecting buses but the store was not open for business I asked the owner can I sit down and wait for it to open and he was obliged to do so not knowing that he had his cook prepare my food for me and I was able to catch my connecting buses which consisted of three thanks again my man the food was delicious the conversation was good hope to see you in the future

The food is good and the prices are ok but the fries are always soggy. They should make them crispier

I've been ordering from BBQ Luso's over 20 years, our favorite spot. Authentic BBQ flavor and more importantly consistency in great taste every time. A must try for sure. I moved down the shore but when I'm in the neighborhood I always pick up a few dishes, don't forget the hot sauce!!

Don't get me wrong food is good but look at your receipts they charge you extra if you pay cash or card. and the prices on the website menu are not updated now a combo Chicken& Beef Rib is now 20.90 and they do not honor what's on the site. Never again PAID CASH

Chicken and rib combo was delicious!! Got salad as a side and it made a perfect low carb dinner. The meat was well seasoned and the portions were big enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day!! Will def be back here often!!

I ordered over $100 and the forgot 2 items. ordered shrimp and chicken mofongo. Horrible but the croquettes we're good and so was the chicharrón chicken. The tostones and the garlic dipping sauce was also pretty good.

Best pork ribs ever portions are huge most people can't finish one portion. Been there many times I was doing delivery at hospital and I smelled luso so I followed the smell is how I found this place.

My spot... love it there, the food is great and fresh, the guys do a good job at servicing the folks at the counter. Overall a 4.4 for me...

This place never fails. The fries and rice are always amazing. I get the pork cubes and shrimp.. not spicy.. and it is great. There are two small tables inside so not much of a place to sit. So this place is basically take out or delivery. It’s a must if you want good food and don’t mind having a food coma afterwards!

Their ribs are the best. So happy to have found this place!

This place has been bit by the shrink-flation bug. They have raises their menu prices twice and the portions decreased by 25 percent. They pack it in smaller containers and a reusable bag and passed the cost onto the customer. I have visited this place for over 15 years and the new owners management are just rude and employ young teens to interact with the public. Very unfortunate because the food is real good. But the service is poor and shrinking portions to make a buck isn't a good business practice.

The lady who took my order gave me the wrong thing. I ordered garlic chicken breast but was giving regular chicken breast with no garlic sauce. I explained to the lady she gave me the wrong thing but she said it was too late to change it because they were closing so they turned off the grill. The owner over heard me telling her that I would not have even ordered the food. I ordered with the intensions of getting garlic chicken breast. The owner Roberto insisted on remaking the order and also told me to keep the food that was incorrect. That was great customer service. Thank you Roberto. Will deff be back.

They have the best fries and rice! This is my favorite restaurant, I recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food.

My fiancee and I were frequent customers thru out my pregnancy this restaurant is conveniently located across from our baby doctor. The day after we delivered our son the employees sent over our entire order to the hospital and when we tried to pay he said it was on the house as our family dinner the steak and the garlic chicken is so delicious I highly recommend

This place! Nothing bad to say! I called and spoke with two guys and probably because they were really busy and that was on a Thursday. The food was very fresh and they were very generous with the portions. I ordered the combo ( pork ribs & half chicken) side of Garlic shrimp and it came to about $32.00. The owner was very nice and very attentive even when I came to pick up my food he knew who I was. This place is a hidden gem 💎 Give it a try I don't have pictures of the food because I was to hungry to wait! Excellent customer service! My garlic shrimp came undone due to how they wrapped it, I took it back and they wrapped it again for me. I will revisit!

This is the type of spot when you need something quick because it’s reliable and cheap..that being said food isn’t that tasteful but it’s fast and convenient so that’s the plus here this isn’t the type of place to go to for a night out or family dinner just a quick hr lunch type of spot..
