The food was delicious and they have a great atmosphere with a live band.

So we took a little trip down energy lane today. We didn't have to look very far. It was 7 to 10 minutes from Brandywine and Trolley Square. Lots of options in either of those places but we were in search of something more personal, something with just the right energry. We arrived and were greeted by Monique who treated us like we were guests in her home- so inviting and such a positive vibe. She let us know there were 2 new owners and they took over about 3 months ago. This just built up our expectations. Would they survive us? Lol When we pulled up to this cozy cafe and we started to explore, we realized it spans larger than you may think if you don't venture beyond the sidewalk. If you don't - then I must tell you in full certainty, you are missing out. You are missing out on an amazing Nacho Zito (shh can not tell you all the yummy stuff in the yummy stuff) I would spoil your fun taking in all the things that are THE THINGS. The Classic Ceaser with crabcake was so beautifully chopped and arranged that I thought it might end there but as I lifted my fork to my mouth and felt the warm salad hit my tonue, the crab cake literally fished the happiness right from my center! This was the most amazing crab cake ceaser. Chefs Kiss! Don't leave without ending this steller experience with an herbal tea and dessert. The peanut butter banana chocolate cheesecake was bliss! Love the fact that all the ingredients are fresh and local, even down to the honey for your teas! Apparently this lil hidden gem hosts LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT! Brunch on Sundays with live music, book clubs, among other entertainment. We did the late lunch experience today. Sunday we will try the brunch but will wait till 12 for live music. Next week we will try Dinner. Stay tuned for the Brunch and dinner review.....we are becoming huge fans of this place with the postively perfect vibe!

Great food and excellent atmosphere. Live music every day and Sunday brunch with great music. It is not for those who watch TV and sports, because there is no TV set. It is perfect for great conversation and small groups. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely terrible first time experience! we had a reservation for 7:00 pm, we waited to be seated & was told to grab two menus & sit outside, it was 40 minutes before anyone came out to start service with no explanation it was not that crowded, the seating was in the path of customers back & forth right on top of us, it was another 35 min for just one appetizer, I tried the smashburger that was tasteless, dry with burnt bacon on a crumbling old roll. Very unwelcoming staff & atmosphere. They do paint a pretty picture though until you experience it for yourself 😢

This quaint little restaurant exudes charm with its cozy and intimate indoor decor. Soft lighting and tasteful vintage accents, such an inviting atmosphere. The outdoor seating, complete with a delightful patiofor al fresco dining, surrounded by lush greenery and twinkling fairy lights. The menu is a culinary delight, the specials included a mouthwatering smashed burger then my husband devoured and I enjoyed salmon marinated in lemon and herbs over Jazmine rice and black beans This gem of a restaurant is ideal for date nights, celebrations, and private parties. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

We were visiting from out of town and were seeking a restaurant with vegan options. Cafe Bellafonte did not disappoint! The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! We were a large group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our dinners!

If you have been here before you might not realize there are new proprietors when arriving. It still has the familiar, friendly vibe along with live music and that unique eclectic appeal so rare in Wilmington. After a few visits they started their first menu. It has a full page of teas! And thoughtful selections of salads, sandwiches et al. I got takeout, pulled pork sandwich which included the house soup, and the Mediterranean platter. All were something I would order again which is a cardial rule for judging any restaurant meal. I love good soup; think it was called calde Verde. It was a meal alone. Me and my family enjoyed it all. They are now open longer during the week (lunch in belefonte!) And live music most if not all days. If this reads like a plug you are right to a degree. But who doesn't want a wonderful food music ambiance oasis walking distance from home? Looking forward to exploring their menu and hearing more music.

The nacho appetizer tasted good despite an unusual presentation - it was served with all the toppings in one dish and the tortilla chips in a bowl. Ordered the special, rockfish, asked for it to be moist. It was overcooked and tough; diced potatoes served with it were greasy and dried out. I'll stick with more basic offerings, soup or sandwich, in the future.

This past September my fiancé and I decided to finally head over to this cute quaint cafe around the corner from our new home. We hear the live music often, and see people having a great time and decided to give it a go for my 35th birthday. Food was great, band was playing decent music, it did not disappoint. The only issue was our server wasn’t as attentive as they could have been. Not sure if they thought we weren’t going to spend much or tip well or what. We would have stayed longer had the service been a little better. Overall nice atmosphere, seasonal fresh menu, live music. It was a nice birthday dinner. Only giving 4 stars as I felt we wouldn’t have had to flag down their not busy server for a drink or anything else we needed. This is also why we haven’t back as it made us feel very out of place. I hope to check out their current menu soon though and reporting back. I work in the service industry and not every day am I 100%. So I’ll give it another go. 😃

We had been meaning to stop in here for a while and we finally got the chance to. The atmosphere is really cozy. We ate upstairs. The service was slow the night we were there but they were undermanned so I am sure it's faster most other nights. The food was decent. I really enjoyed The Rachel Sandwich. It's a nice little neighborhood place.

Driving home from Ocean City MD we wanted to stop for lunch. Looking for places to eat on my GPS the Bellefonte Cafe popped up so off we go. I LOVE the vibe of this place. It’s so eclectic. Our server was so nice. We decided on the Cubanos. The pork was so tender and I love that they used procuitto instead of ham. The poblano bisque was amazing!!!!! We didn’t get a chance to check out the backyard but the pictures looked awesome. The outdoor seating on the porch looked so inviting. You have got to try this place.

Stopped here on a Sunday, after making a reservation days before. Loved the colorful vibe and the seemingly interesting menu. My waitress was prompt and welcoming. Also I was pleased to enjoy some live music. Obviously this place gets credit for being alluring to customers. That’s where my visit started going downhill. I ordered shrimp tacos with the day’s special soup, carrot bisque. The cup of soup was warm and tasty. The shrimp tacos barely had any shrimp on them, & were soggy & cold because of the pineapple salsa (nicely spiced) and sour cream-based sauce. Three small & soggy tacos should have been a bad signal. But I went ahead and decided to order a piece of red velvet cake for dessert. Sucker. It was so mediocre that I left half of it. (On my way out, I saw that another diner had done the same.) Imagine my incredulity when I saw on my bill that they charged $10 for that lousy piece of cake! I felt taken, but paid my bill and left. I did tip the waitress generously as she was helpful & the unsuccessful food was not her fault. I will not return. It was a learning experience for me: ask for prices when considering desserts that are not listed on a printed menu.
