This is a small, family run restaurant that has an interesting mix of traditional diner/Coney Island offerings, and Korean food. Our recent visit included someone having blueberry pancakes, another a breakfast sandwich on sourdough, and a third with beef bulgogi, which can be ordered as part of a stirfry with vegetables, or a sliced bulgogi option that is just slices of seasoned beef on a bed of white or brown rice and a side of kimchi. Plenty of parking on the side of the building, interior features homey decorations and an atmosphere that really brought me back to family restaurants from the last century. Start with mandoo dumplings and go from there.

Great food and friendly service

The service was horrible. She seemed mad at us from the get-go, for no reason. I had to raise my voice to get her attention after saying excuse me several times because my son poked his straw through the styrofoam cup and lemonade was pouring all over the table. However she really was already rude to us. We waited and waited for her to pick up our card to pay. I finally had to stand up and ask to pay. I don’t know what her problem was but even though the food was really good, we won’t be going back.

Have been in Ann Arbor for four years now — I WISH I’d known about this place sooner. I had the bulgogi omelet and it was the perfect “hangover” meal.

Why pay 8.75 for eggs, hash browns, and toast when you can get the same for 6.35 at Uptown? Also, corn muffins when you order biscuits and gravy? Really?

The Ramen was good but hot(caliente)

Wonderful. Always wanted to try this little diner next to Stadium Hardware. Today stopped by with a friend. We ordered coffee and Ramen soup. One chicken, one tofu. Oh my!! So delicious. Awesome. Will definitely come back because the sandwiches look scrumptious!! Thank you

Had a Chicago dog. Not like any Chicago dog I've had. Wasn't good. Not sure they know what a Chicago dog is. The waitress was great. Did a good job. Basic diner

Amazing restaurant! Love the bulgogi and everything is fried perfectly!

I love how quiet this place is during the afternoon - you can actually have conversations with your family unlike so many other restaurants. Bulgogi is outstanding, and the fresh veggies are delicious. Sometime soon, do yourself a favor and try their Bulgogi Burger. You don’t have to have it with Swiss cheese like the menu says. I get it with no cheese or else with cheddar, and it never disappoints. Love this place. Let’s keep it going!

Looks like a diner, but has some awesome Korean food, the bulgogi was amazing, the sliced bulgogi was amazing, and the mandoo (dumplings) were really good too, also served with a side of cucumber kimchi, which tasted great, I cannot wait to go back!

Overrated. Food is mid. Generally pretty bland. Bulgogi is really the only thing worth ordering on the menu. Avoid the bento box. The head server is very rude and cannot hide her disdain for children. Go somewhere else if you have kids. My family used to love this place but the food and attitude both need adjustment as of late. We don't go here anymore.

Great food! Service is attentive and friendly. Their Korean fare is delicious. Not in to bi-bim-bap? Their burgers are made fresh. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by Knights market. Hard to go wrong here.

Disappointed in the older lady that served me today on my carryout order. I just asked a nice simple question, and her response was rude and very non customer service oriented. Will continue to go their as their food is a 10/10, hopefully I will be treated nicer next time as a customer.

Always great food and friendly, fast service. They serve standard breakfast food and Korean. Recommend the bibimbap, and spicy chicken!

Walked in and felt like I was walking into a library it was so quiet. With small children I felt like we should’ve went somewhere else more lively. The diner is small, maybe less than 10 tables though 2 were for larger parties. High chairs are available (2). I ordered the beef ramen for “brunch”. It lacked flavour, beef and noodles were chewy, wasn’t very tasty. My family ordered regular breakfast and said it was good, though pricey for the amount and quality of food. A single toilet bathroom is located through the kitchen. Not enough space to walk through. We won’t revisit.

My adult kids and I have eaten here twice. Both times were delicious! It's a small space, so there is awkward low talking among the diners, but the kitchen and single wait staff are moving fast and our food was served within a few minutes. They have a lot of takeout being picked up. I have to assume people who gave low reviews due to rude service didn't understand that they are hopping. Friendly, but busy. No chitchat but whatever. We'll be back.

A place that makes good food and has good atmosphere has lots of birds but I like birds. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and authentic Korean food

Today was my first and last day coming to Bell’s diner absolutely a horrible experience. The food was not that great. The lady who answers the phone and does the serving was very rude and very short. I don’t like pulling the race card but we’re into the new year 2024 and racism is still out there and I’ve dealt with it before in my life and I know what it feels like but, I don’t know if it was because I was the only black person in there But her tone of voice and her attitude when dealing with me was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Do not recommend will not come back. The only reason why I came to this place was because I work up the street and my coworkers have been saying how good their food is. I got in my car and open my food containers. My hashbrowns were burnt and so was my omelette. The feta cheese was not placed inside of the omelette like I had asked it was thrown on top, pictures are posted. SMH all I can say is God bless you never again will you receive my money

after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures of other people’s bibimbap orders im convinced that a major mistake was made with my bibimbap order because it was literally inedible. just nothing but black pepper, that’s it :( like the whole shaker got upended in the box. mandoo was yummy though

We had three people in for lunch. Two or got food. One of us got our order correctly and one of ate their food because it was decent tasting. Can't even describe how sad I was not to eat. Lucky McDonald's and Taco Bell were close.

Fantastic diner, with an awesome selection of traditional Korean dishes

It isn't a diner. It's a korean restaurant that serves what they think is american breakfast. We were served an overpriced and overcooked mess. Rock hard bacon. Hashbrowns bland and oily. The people next to us had amazing smelling and looking food off of the korean menu that's on the back of the "diner" menu. The location is great, and the interior decoration is quaint and inviting. I was lied too and that's why the rating is so low. If they just rebrand to something else that's not a diner, I'll re-review and give them another chance.

I had the biscuits and gravy. They serve it in a bowl of gravy with a homemade biscuit on the side. It was definitely all homemade. The gravy was all right at best, and the biscuit was way undercooked and very doughy. I did call the waiter over and she did take it away from me and take it off of my bill but did not offer or suggest anything else for me to eat and I left there hungry. The person I was with ordered a bacon cheeseburger and they did like it and everything was good with their food.

This is a well-known small, quiet restaurant perfect for a meal and a power meeting, always get good portions. We had the breakfast and asked for the Korean hot sauce— dry, mild, bright red. The server was very responsive to us and plus she was very cute.

I just moved to Ann Arbor and this place was highly recommended by locals. We went for breakfast and the food and service was really good. I highly recommend ordering the Korean bacon. (Korean-style bacon is thick cut and has no fat on it.) They even gave us free coffees to go! We highly recommend.

However, it's really a local hidden gem for their yummy limited Korean dishes on the menu, especially the bibimbap, spicy chicken and beef bulgogi! 😋 Family business that has been in Ann Arbor a very long time.

Tuna was excellent. While I was there, three (3) other people ordered it. The chicken soup was outstanding. My wife had the corned beef. It's just fantastic. It's just a little pricey for a diner. Furthermore, our waitresses JONNA was outstanding and the best server of the year.

First time here for a late brunch/lunch and we enjoyed the food we got. It is a conveniently located diner with a small town family feel. I think it’s unique they serve Korean food along with the standar American diner food you would expect. We didn’t order any Korean dishes, but will have to be back again to try those. My husband enjoyed the homemade biscuits and gravy. I loved my tuna melt, which was grilled to perfection with the best crispy crunch on the bread. The tuna salad was delicious and tasted homemade. Generous portions and attentive service!

Huge portion sizes. The bulgogi was amazing, as was the cucumber kimchi.

This is a great little place to eat. The food and service was great. We counted 38 seats, so it doesn't cater to a lot of people at one time. Well worth going.

This place is a cute little American/Korean diner. It has traditional American diner foods like burgers, grilled sandwiches, and breakfast. They also have a few Korean dishes, including ramen. I ordered the bulgogi hoagie. They give you 2 sandwiches with chips, pickle, and coleslaw for an amazing 12.99. Most of the menu items are similar or cheaper. Great food, great price, friendly service.

Nice little Korean diner, I thought that it was going to be more of a mom's and pops diner. The staff was really nice, but she misunderstood my order. She tried to say that that is how I ordered it. She ended up correcting it. The boiling lemon water was good. My fiance said that his breakfast food had a weird taste, like breakfast and lunch are cooked on the same grill without scraping them off. The waitress offered us a sample of spiced sliced cucumbers. They were nice and spicy, but she couldn't tell me what spice it was. I also ordered an omelet, cheese inside, not on top. It was covered with cheese.

I’ve been enjoying breakfasts in Korean food at the diner for 30 years. It was my first introduction to Korean food actually. Bells got me addicted to bi bim bab, which is a rice bowl with chicken/beef/tofu and piles of vegetables and an egg on top. You mix it with a slightly spicy chili sauce. The owner Ben and his wife are just lovely, good people and I’m happy to support their restaurant!

My favorite local diner for both American and Korean food. I always visit Bell’s on weekends before football games, at night for take out, or just to meet and chat with friends. Run and owned by an incredibly sweet family that takes pride in their food, service, and has a strong loyal customer base.

Very friendly service. Interesting combination of food choices. They don't make an attempt to create a beautiful atmosphere. My friends like the Korean food. The French toast was good.

Very family friendly! Wonderful staff, delish food. I ordered pancakes and spicy tofu. The pancakes were the best I’ve ever had. The spicy tofu was amazing as well. Their portions are huge too! I’m excited to go back :)

A great locally owned diner serving American and Korean cuisine. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Coke products served here as well as coffee and tea. Everything I've tried so far has been very well prepared and favorable. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.

Came here for breakfast. Was very good food and fast service! The omelette I ordered was very large and filling. I didn’t really like that it didn’t come with hashbrowns but the size of the omelette made up for the lack of hashbrowns. It’s pretty neat that they have Korean food as well and would love to come back to try that.

Great food and service. I have noticed many customers are ordering both traditional American breakfast and Korean dishes and I believe it's the only place I know you can enjoy a whole array of food from both cultures.

Be aware, they collaborate with UberEats to impose an unfair amount of hidden charges on you for unpriced add-on items and will not let you know about it until you have no option to cancel the order.

Loved this place and wish it were back home. American diner classics alongside Korean mainstays, with a few crossovers. I stuck with tofu bibimbap and it was exactly what I wanted. Next time I am in the area, I’ll have to try the bulgogi omelette.

My husband picks up takeout for us all the time from here. So delicious! Yes, prices have gone up like everywhere else, but their portions are still generous and their cucumber kimchi is amazing. 😋 The only thing I could wish for is crispier fries.

This vibe and food is fantastic. Little greasy spoon American diner with authentic Korean bulgogi, bibimbap. I love the booths and walking through the kitchen to use the restroom. I hope it doesn’t change for a hundred years.

Don’t know because I am Asian, but I did not find the service to be that terrible like others mentioned. Not particularly friendly , but I think I genuinely take as a good sign that they offer a good Korean food when server is not focused to pleasure us with service lol. (All places run by frown Korean guy/women I have been are so far serving the best authentic foods) of It’s really fairly authentic place for Korean. Got some bibimbap and it’s simple, and yummy. I wish the price point is more friendly, I’m happy to return here every single week if one serving is $11-13 instead of $15. Can’t speak for breakfast, but I personally think there’re probably better places. Don’t forget to ask for Cucumber Kimchi! Those are the best part of the meal.

Myself and my three children came to have lunch. However it took 7 minutes of the rude and disrespectful waitress to kill my appetite. My son was asking the server a question and she ignored him. I literally had to tell this woman My son is speaking to you. Please acknowledge him. I made a choice to use this horrible customer service as a teachable moment. I told my children to put on their coats and let's go and eat across the street. When my six year old ask why. I told him we do not financially support establishments that are rude and treat us poorly.

Food was good but the server was incredibly rude. I'm talking about eye rolling, glaring, walking away when I was talking level of rudeness to the point that the guy next to me even commented on it. Won't be going back😡

It is cheap. It is fast. It is good. It is American and Korean ... Really come hear for the Bimbimbap - it is jump perfect. The place is funny looking but the whole experience is great. The spicy plate can be really spicy, be aware! Update years later: price went up a notch still good quality food for cheap. Still an amazing place.

Attended a lunch with a group of various local businesspeople who meet weekly, the 1st since the pandemic. I had bi bim bop & it was wonderful.

Not impressed. Asked for very well done bacon, which obviously was not communicated the the kitchen staff, Coke tasted like a generic version, eggs were not great and the biscuit for the egg sandwich was horrible. Will not be back.

I got the chicken bibimbap and it was so fresh and the chicken had such amazing flavor! Not to mention the portions were great. The service was on point and the food came very quickly :) Will definitely be going back soon!
