We found this restaurant by googling a better place to have a dinner while driving on interstate 95 in route to Boston. We are so glad that we made the choice to dine there! The food was excellent. The staff was super attentive and you can take they take it seriously with keeping the place clean and guests happy. Our freshly made pastry with cheese dessert topes with Turkish pistachio ice cream was recommended by the waiter and out of this world!✨ Saving this place on my google map and looking forward to dine there again on my next New York to Boston trip 🙌

First time eating Turkish food and it was delicious

I have been going and LOVING this place for many years. The food is just fantastic and fresh, service with a smile☺, and BAKLAVA !!!!!! If you must wait for an order you are served Turkish tea in a glass! Nice!! 👍😉 Large servings. You may pass it by because it is almost invisible it's so tiny, but that adds to the COZY CHARM OF THIS BRIDGEPORT TREASURE. !

Although it’s a small place behind a gas station, the food and service is par excellence.

The food very salty even though I ask for no salt. The giro wrap has very little meat, mostly bread. Prices has gone up and the quality really bad. Waste of money

Hidden gem, for sure . This establishment is on the side of a gas station. Family owned. Staff is so very sweet. There is a small dining area or take out is available too. I ordered the chicken Adana kabob. Alongside it came with rice and salad . So yummy, I tore that dish up. The flavors and savor was magnificent. I was full! Clean establishment too! I def love coming here when in town.

The was extremely salty. I feel sick from it. I don’t understand why it was so salty, even the salad. I will never return because it is dangerous to eat food that salty. Medically unsafe.

I used to frequent this restaurant when I lived on Woodmont Ave 17 years ago. It was always one of my favorite places to go. The food was always delicious and the older gentleman was always friendly. Being that I was in the area today, I decided to go give it a try after all this time. The food is still excellent, the employees are all extremely friendly and helpful, but the restaurant looks even better than before. They now have tables in a quaint dining room where you can be served and eat your meal like most restaurants. It used to be 5 stars, but I just wish I could have given the place a 6 star rating as everything that made this place so special is still there, but now with a dining room and what appears to be a larger menu. I'm the future, I'll make sure to take the half hour drive to come here more often. If you like Turkish food and you're in the area, come here! You won't be disappointed!

What an amazing place! I never knew this place existed until our friends brought us here. The food was simply amazing! The restaurant is a small nondescript place you probably wouldn’t even notice. Once you come inside and smell what is cooking you are hooked. Honestly, I do not know the names of what was ordered because our friend did all the ordering. It was so good! I know we had lamb, chicken and beef. We also had a delicious salad and a plate of different types of hummus. The food was insanely flavorful! We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

One of the best Turkish restaurants in Connecticut

We were passing by Connecticut and we decided to have Turkish food for lunch , the place was very small and looked dirty , we enjoyed the food ,the server was very nice but there was a lady waitress that was very rude and disrespectful!! She was talking very loudly with here family back in turkey even we were looking to have a rest and quit time after a long drive ,she even asked me rudely to clean my table ,what a service?! i would like to give her 0 star for this poor service

The food was average. There is a woman whose behavior is quite rude. She should behave more friendly & She must understand the benefits of the customers..

Found this place the other day for the first time. Had lunch with my family, and it was so good that we came back for dinner! Food and service was great! The owner and staff were so friendly! We found our new favorite spot! Make sure to get the mixed cold appetizer and mango juice!

A little gem hidden next to a gas station. Food was excellent and tasty. All food freshly prepared and cooked right in front of you. Only set back is they close early.

it's a small but cute restaurant. very cozy atmosphere. the service quality was good. but the taste of the food didn't leave much of an impression on me because I've had better food. of course it's not the restaurant's fault, as I said, I was looking for the taste of the meats I had at my favorite restaurant, so it didn't leave much of an impression on me, but I can still say that the food was average from my point of view. maybe it will be a super taste for someone else. as I said, the only reason I gave 3 stars is not because of the restaurant's food, but because of me.

The food was fresh and delicious, well seasoned. I called and it was ready when I arrived.I will return again.

Love this place! They have the best food it’s always fresh and delicious! I go here very often. Pro tip get the cold mixed appetizer with the different dips and an order of fries and dip the fries in the dips. So amazing ! 🤌🏼

Food is delicious , little bit oily and greasy

My husband and I are HUGE foodies ,and when a friend told us about this little spot, we were not disappointed! The chef is the real deal and the foods authentic and fresh, such a gem of a place and reasonably priced! We’re definitely making a habit of coming here! Highly recommend :)

I absolutely loved the small, yet charming dining experience at Bereket. I have an egg allergy and they were responsive and replaced the baked break with pita without any fuss. The woman serving us displayed excellent customer service. My girlfriend and I felt comfortable, safe, and well fed! The hummus was very good, the falafel sandwich was good enough to die for. Definitely an underrated restaurant, and it was still affordable.

A no frill, cozy, and a great turkish food place.

Was upbeat about trying this restaurant after seeing so many wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. So terribly disappointing. The meat tasted old, and at times I really couldn’t discern what it was that I was eating. It didn’t taste anything like lamb. Maybe it was a bad night, maybe not, but after this experience, I’ll have to take my business elsewhere. Extremely disappointed, and expected much better!

Love this place been going for years! Delicious food and desserts. My favorite is the ground lamb kebab with the rice and salad. Also the Shepard salad. Delicious.

Fresh. Nice selection. I've had many dishes here . We go in and sit down. We enjoy the Lamb shish and fatush salad .. and a. service in a timely manner. One waitress always has a chips on her shoulders. I can't imagine why everyone one else is nice people. We ignore it because of everything else that's excellent. However, you can't teach people to be something they aren't. These guys are far the best! For the area. Always fresh, and now they've open the location for more seating! Definitely worth it!

The waitress is absolutely revolting. Her attitude is beyond rude. I will never come here again because of her. If I was the boss I would fire her. She brings down the whole restaurant vibe. The food is excellent though!

People are mixing up this (original site) Bereket with the restaurant of the same name in Fairfield. What's more confusing is that the owner/chef in Fairfield used to have the original Bereket at this site. This "new Bereket" which has been around for a few years now is pretty good. The service is very good. I love the lentil soup. I have a little problem with meats sometimes and not sure about texture but overall flavor and portions very good. I ordered a "special" for lunch which was a stew. It was terrible. So oily and the meat seemed like leftover chicken that was just added to a sauce. They discounted the meal $2 but did not comp it. I only ate 2 bites. I will be careful what I order from now on....

We were so disappointed. This place is a dump and the food was nothing special. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 dinners, desert and tea and they had the nerve to charge us for extra bread. They did take it off the bill after we complained. Doesn’t come close to Saray in West Haven where the quantity and quality is so much better. If you want good hummus go to a Lebanese restaurant. Turkish hummus is very bland. We will never go back to this place.

Even with a GPS, this Turkish gem is hard to find. Look behind the gas station at the corner of Woodmont and Main and you'll see the hole-in-the-wall entrance. Terrific fresh mezes..we loved the ezme and labneh..and chicken kabob platter. The fresh bread is heavenly. Worth a stop in Bridgeport for sure!!

Came here for lunch even though there was construction making it hard to enter. So glad we did. Delicious and fresh and nice size portions. Will come back again.

Great corner place, it is five star place very delicious quality food,good service and reasonable prices, the owner himself is there as a cook, so everything home made and pass the inspection of an actual owner, I been there 5 times, I tried tripe soup which was very delicious, I tried Adana Kebap spicy ground meat on skewer , it was tasty and fresh,they always have fresh brewed Turkish Tea and homemade deserts

First time at Bereket. This small eating room was highly recommended to me by a Turkish-speaking Lebanese expat who frequents Bereket. I came for lunch and was not disappointed. Enjoyed the sigara borek appetizer, falafel dinner and black Turkish tea. 4 other tables of guests in addition to my table. The chef and waitress are very friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my next visit!

I got the chicken shish dish and it was absolutely great! We searched near me and we were skeptical when we saw this turkish place. But when we got the food we completely changed our minds. Excellent food!!! But about 20 feet away from us in this hidden little restaurant was a little visitor: A RAT!!! Not what you want to see but I would highly recommend the food.

World of difference between this bereket and the one on fairfield ave also in bridgeport. I figured I'd give this one a try. Smaller portions, lower quality, seems more expensive too.

We had such a wonderful, delicious dinner!!! It's a very small place, not fancy, but very clean and the food is fantastic! Better than we had at a upscale restaurant! The waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! We will definitely be going back! The portions are large too! We had the Lamb shank and it was so tender it fell off the bone and the jasmine rice was so tasty! Everything was phenomenal ✨️ 🙌 ❤️ 😍 😌 You will not be disappointed!

The food is sooo good!!! Try it you won’t be disappointed! I ordered the chicken shish kebob entree to go and it was the perfect lunch. The jalapeño pepper is spicy and I wish I had room to eat the salad. This place never disappoints!

This place is one of the very few things I miss about Connecticut. Easily the best Turkish food I’ve ever had. I really miss going here and feasting. The owner is so so nice and treated me like family when I would walk in. We didn’t order they would just tell us to sit down and they would bring all kinds of delicious things to eat.

This place used to be good and responsible and now they don’t even wanna update their business hours. Every week it seems like they have different business hours. They close early if business is slow.

DELICIOUS!!! Their food is always delicious 5/5 times 5 stars from me so far. I always order their Adana sandwich with no onions. The taste of the gyro is amazing. Their French fries are even better! My kids loved it and so did I. Hint: Call for your order 20 mins before driving to pick it up.

We have a great memory from this cozy restaurant. Compared to other turkish restaurants, I liked this one better. The taste of Adena Kebab was so yummy since it’s inspired from an expert chef. Also the food portion was good too. We liked it so much both the food and its cleanliness. we highly recommend it!

Best Turkish in Fairfield / New Haven County area. Owners are the nicest most humble folk. Food is always delicious. Our go to catering spot as well for parties of 8 and above. The place is tiny and hidden behind a gas station it has some seating but we have always carried out. p.a. Not to be confused by another restaurant down the road with the same name! We have not tried the other but have been told they are not affiliated.

Terrific place to eat. Read about it here, and decided to try because of one location , and home-cooked family run restaurant. Like everyone says , not fancy dining inside , but this family knows what they are doing for authentic Turkish food. Took my in-laws and my wife for Dinner, owner and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The Branzino fish imported from Turkey , says the owner, is out of this world. We also ordered the combination Mixed Grill Kebobs , The Lamb and the Chicken , all on the plate Fantastic . I am going to be in this area again for the weekend, will be going back because I can't stop thinking about the food and experience. Hats off to a hard working family and serving great food. I dont review this way about places , but had to in this case.

I tried sauteed eggplants, they had the same taste as my mom's. Funny, I didn't know that my mom was cooking a Turkish dish.

I always get the best food when I come here and it really reminds me of my family in turkeys cooking. The wait can be a little long when dining in but it’s so worth it when the food tastes so delicious and authentic

Bereket is awesome! The food is so good! It’s hard to believe it is a tiny restaurant behind a gas station that you can barely see from the road, but don’t let that stop you! We’ve had the lamb and chicken kebabs, doner sandwich and entree, lamb shank special and lentil soup so far and everything is amazing!

The Turkish coffee is out of this world!

The digs are not fancy but the food is delicious! Wash it down with a fruit flavored Turkish juice (I tried cherry and peach and both were yummy). I recommend the beef kafte and lamb kabob.

I tried my first kebab here and it tasted so good. The vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, etc are juicy and fresh unlike other restaurants. The quantity is big but the price is fair to be honest. Every time if I crave a middle eastern food, this restaurant would be my first option.

I am glad I read the review before going to the restaurant. It is located at the back of the gas station. Only few table and parking spots. I had gyro sandwich and some falafel. My husband had a salad and my kids had chicken wings. Mine was good but I think my husband's salad was better, and I don't always love salads. And actually my kids chicken wings were excellent. They are grilled and were delicious. I had some baklava to go except I ate them all before I left. Good food for good price. If I am around the town I will stop by again.
