Delicious food and awesome service!!

Honestly, some of the best food I've had in the south. Incredible ribs! And it was fantastic to meet Betty herself! 12/10 would come back in a heartbeat.

We were told about this place when we asked the young woman at the BB KIng Museum for lunch spots and are so happy she suggested Betty's. From the warm welcome by the man at the register to the fabulous food pumped out of the kitchen, this was a great find. I enjoyed the catfish plate while my husband feasted on BBQ ribs. We were too full to try dessert, but I'm sure it is yummy.

Easily the best ribs i had on our holiday in the south and I tried a lot. Fabulous atmosphere and really friendly people. Next time I’m in Mississippi I’ll be making sure to go back for more.

An impromptu stop with 31 people! The staff were brilliant accommodating us. The service was slow but excusable as we were such a large group. You can write on the walls, decor not my thing but the staff were friendly. I had the banana pudding, which was tiny, and disappointing. It came out in a little round tub and was very sweet. Others had the Catfish which was delicious apparently and some meals looked a decent size.

I love Betty Place ! Good food good service always greated with a smile. Rib Tips with extra pepers and onions in my sauce I'm good to go! Highly recommend.

Ms. Betty, Rev Campbell and Ms. Linda were gracious hosts when our Afro American Genealogical and Historical Society of Chicago arrived for dinner. The best Soul Food we have had in years.

Everyone was friendly. Our meals were good. I had fried catfish, salad and fried okra. The serving of fish was very generous! My husband had the fish, green beans, rice & gravy - all good!

1st time to go to Betty's. Friends told me about great the food. Didn't disappoint and great food and service. My husband loved the banana pudding.Will return.

In town for one day and we were traveling with our dogs. Found this place online and was not disappointed. Best home-cooking I've ever had from a restaurant. Smoked ribs, hamburgers, pulled pork sandwich, fried okra and homemade brown gravy just like my grandma use to make. The price of the food is more than worth it!

Some of the biggest Mideast ribs I’ve ever received in any restaurant. Good flavor. Two sides and a sweet tea came in under $15! Two blocks from the bb king museum!

I took a day-trip to the Delta this weekend, visiting some old familiar spots. Was getting hungry, and after looking through a few places where I might eat, I settled on "Betty's Place." I'm so glad I did! The food was delicious, the service was both fast and friendly, and it really was a pleasant atmosphere to be in while taking a food break on a mini-road trip. Highly recommended and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

We planned our route between Natchez and Memphis to specifically stop at this place for food during our trip after reading some of the reviews online, and we weren’t disappointed. The owner was really friendly and welcomed us into the place when we walked in. We had the ribs and pulled pork sandwich, which were both delicious! The owner chatted to us after we’d eaten and told us about the different people who’d signed the wall, covering most of the world! A definite place to visit if in the area or planning a trip through here. The bill for food and drinks for 2 of us was less than $20. We stopped on our cross country trip, after seeing that it likely was the best food spot in a 2 hour radius. The food was fantastic, my husband’s rib tips were so unbelievably smoky and delicious (shoutout to the gentleman working the smokers outside!), the catfish was melt-in-your mouth delicious, the breading was light, crispy and well seasoned. Our 4 year old ate half of my catfish plate, that’s how good it was!

Posto incredibile, super autentico, vale quanto il museo di bb king e ti cala immensamente nell’atmosfera. E volendo si riesce anche a farsi fare un piatto vegan :) Imperdibile.

I tried every thing i came all the way from texas to try it . It was a 10/10 and i highly recommend the best food i ever tasted .

Mary and I both had Rib plates. Our ribs were SPECTACULAR! We each received 2 sides, mine was fried okra, and rice and gravy. Mary's were corn, and broccoli and I cheese. A little more salt for the rice and gravy would have been better for me, but for most folks it would be spit on. Thank you Betty and staff. A great experience.

Come ho scritto sul muro, dopo una simpatica e spassosa chiacchierata con la persona che mi ha accolto, il cibo in questo posto è 'AUTENTICO', come lo è l'aria che si respira, il locale e i suoi muri, come lo sono le persone che lo gestiscono e quelle che lo frequentano. Una delle migliori esperienze fatte durante questo viaggio. Un caro saluto da Termoli e dall'Italia ad un uomo gentile e curioso di conoscere chi sta apprezzando la sua storia e la sua terra.

We popped in to get a snack before driving to Jackson after visiting the BB King museum. It was a good choice . Everything is cooked fresh so takes a little time longer but is well worth it . My husband had the catfish sandwich but The chilli burger with cheese i chose was simply the best one I have ever eaten . They don’t make them like that in the UK .

Great pulled pork served up with down home Southern hospitality. Ribs, chicken, and burgers, too. Just a short hop from the B.B. King Museum.

I was excited about this place. Now I'm disappointed. 1] Fried Buffalo fish was not de-boned. 2] Rice was undercooked. 3] Fried chicken was basted in the hot gravy, making the batter soggy. I suggest putting the gravy in a side container for to-go orders. 4] The gravy was very bland. Salt didn't help bring out flavor, so I'm assuming there is none. 5] The broccoli & cheese was the only tasty item. 6] Chicken & Rice is listed under Entrees, which are supposed to come with two sides according to your menu. We were told it does not come with two sides. Please update this misleading information on your menu.

Never visiting this fabulous restaurant the gentleman explained the menu, was very patient, very gracious. We ordered ribs and fried catfish. This is a family owned, family run and family great restaurant. My ribs were the best I’ve eaten, the catfish was fresh, lightly fried! Everything is made fresh. Our service was kind, making sure we had everything. Loved talking to all the staff as they are all related. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and your kindness.

The OWNER has the nastiest attitude EVER! She may or may but know it but just because you’re the owner doesn’t mean you don’t have to have customer service skills. I simply told her she didn’t tell the guy my order right she said (with an attitude), “well I wrote it down right”. She even fanned me off. I I had a job and not a career I would’ve tore HER PLACE up with HER!!

Just like a lot of people, when I travel I like to eat local. Find those little gems hidden away. That is what I got here! Ordered the catfish plate. Perfectly fried. (5 or 6 pieces) came with 2 sides, my choice, baked beans and green beans. Both amazing. The people were great, service spot on. Please stop in, you will not regret it!

Located in an old converted gas station, this place is all about the quality of the food, not the ambiance. On my recent visit to the nearby B.B. King museum, I stopped by during a very busy weekday lunch. I was clearly the only tourist in the place. Everyone welcomed me and was very friendly. There was a line of people waiting, but they managed to fill my carry out order in about 10 mins. Ribs were excellent. Catfish was outstanding…no fishy taste or smell, just perfectly crunchy on the outside and flakey and moist on the inside. If you are from out of town, don’t let the outside of the building sway your decision…this is where the locals get their BBQ.

Betty’s Place is a staple in the Delta for some certified BBQ! The entire order was demolished and left me with sticky finger tips! If it’s a southern style meal your in search of… Betty’s Place is worth checking out!

Don't pay attention to what it looks like from the outside. We were recommended to go there by a local and it did not disappoint. Really friendly service and great food!

We asked the staff at the BB King Museum where to eat and they recommended Betty's Place. Friendly people and the best home cooking outside of home. We had the catfish and it was fantastic. Large portions and reasonable prices. Lots of locals which means it has to be good. Authentic southern soul food for sure.

We were driving cross country on a Blues music vacation. Best "off the beaten path" places we have ever come across! I had ribs and my husband had the burger. We can't say enough about how good it was. Damn good down home southern cookin'. Fine friendly folks that left good memories for us. We went to the BB King museum a couple blocks away. The lady who was speaking with us said "you ate at Betty's" which made us laugh. Eat here!! If the local folks can tell where you have eaten by scent, you know you have done well!

We walked in and the gentleman at the counter said before we even start all they had left was fish and pork chops. That alone speaks volumes!! The fish just melts in your mouth. I was so sad when I took the last bite. My buddy was near tears with how good the pork chops are. 15/10 definitely recommend!

We went to Betty’s after the B.B. King Museum. Lunch entrees come with two sides. We shared the fried catfish (four to five pieces), tater tots, and beans. Everything was delicious. The day we were there they had fried green tomatoes, which were very good. Betty’s has indoor seating as well as a few picnic tables outside.

I ordered cheese burgers and fries. A drink came with it. The burgers were hand patted patties and made to order. Everything was fresh and great. The only thing that I can say is that the fries were frozen crinkle cuts..... they were edible and like most everywhere.

Stopped in with the whole family on a road trip back to Illinois and Wisconsin from NOLA. It was 2PM on a Thursday- could have gone a lot of ways, but turned out to be a fantastic experience! Treated the grandkids like they were the most important customers in the place- and the rib tips were delicious! As were the pork chop and chicken sandwiches the kids had. If you're in Indianola and want great service and great food served with kind souls, Betty's can't be beat!

Couldn't get unloaded so was at Love's for the day. Heard about this place and checked it out. No doubt probably the best ribs I've ever had. Good people there with real small town hospitality. Definitely will be back.

Delicious! Simple, Traditional food at a great price. This restaurant is located next to the fire station. The people there are friendly and the restaurant is also traditional in its decoration. If you're looking for good southern food...this is a good start.

Stopped by and picked up several rib tip plates with potato salad and green beans for an evening meal. The potato salad, green beans were tasteful and the rib tips were tender, but were too difficult to eat because of the gristle and bone pieces that made up the bulk of the rib tips.

I am in Indianola to perform some work for the BB King Museum Expansion. I ask about the local BBQ. Several places where referred but everyone agreed on Betty's Place as a must have. I took a look online and found their menu very quickly. I called and placed my order ( Pulled Pork & Smoke Sausage Plate with fries & baked beans on the side). The lady on the phone (Betty) answered and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I know amazing right! I promptly travel over to shown & then packaged my food by her very polite grandson. I chit chatted a few minutes with Betty & family while looking around at all the people who have signed the walls in this establishment. Its amazing! So, I return to my hotel. I open the lid and take the first bite to the most delicious pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw & baked beans. When I finished it I was stuffed but I must continue! Definitely on a mission now! I lift this beautifully topped smoked sausage glazed with bbq sauce to experience a mindblowing unlike any other I have ever experienced. I was raised in the South and know my BBQ very well. I look forward to my next adventure with Betty!!! I will see you again in September & thank you for your generosity & hospitality!!!

Let me tell you about this gem.. not only do they have a wonderful staff/family that is full of life and heart, these people here know how to cook that food that speaks to your soul! I had perfectly cooked ribs covered in the best sauce I’ve eaten. Their catfish was beautifully breaded with a moist filet and had that freshly caught flavor. Their beans (we’ve all had beans, but not like this) had a hint of maple and heat but better than you can imagine. I also had fried green tomatoes and okra, mmm that breading with the freshness of the veggies made them melt in my mouth. So needless to say, I’d your coming through and you want some real fresh food, real flavors and amazing people with beautiful personalities, go see Betty. They won’t disappoint. Thanks so much for the laughs and fantastic food! 🙏🏻

Stopped just for a quick snack... Quirky little Cafe. Andrew(I think) greeted us with a very friendly attitude. Felt very welcomed. Basic decor where you are invited to write on the walls. Clean and tidy. We ordered a few small sandwich style snacks that were excellent. Could not fault the food or staff. Nice stop.

The menu is basic good home cooking! The menu, well the prices are from two decades ago. The food was good. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the wife had the backed chicken. The location of is only found by GPS. A short walk from BBKings museum. I don’t even remember if it had a sign on it. But a fun place to eat that takes me back to a simpler time.

Not only is it the best food in Indianola but might be throughout. The Whole Sunflower County go see Betty place in Indianola Mississippi you won't regret it!!!
