I rarely leave reviews. This establishment is not as good as it was some years ago.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Flavorless chicken shawarma with old lettuce that tasted like bad Indian food. Lentil soup was as watery and flavorless as dishwater. Throwing it all out. What a waste. Shame on them for passing this slop off as edible food. Used to be good. Not anymore

Good, eat there all the time. I AM CHANGING MY REVIEW! I want to give no stars!!!! I GOT SICK SICK SICK FROM EATING THE CHICKEN!!!!!! IT WAS FOOD POISONING BECAUSE I HAD SEVERE STOMACH PAIINS AND UNCONTROLLABLE DIARRHEA WITHIN 15-30 MINUTES AFTER EATING THE CHICKEN FOR OVER 12 HOURS!!!! THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO PAY THEM A VISIT!!! WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT EAT HERE!!! READ THE REVIEWS PLEASE!!! SO IF ANYONE ATE HERE ON JULY 28, 2024 (SUNDAY) AND GOT SICK, REPORT IT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT ASAP SO THEY CAN BE INVESTIGATED!!!! I don't like to report small businesses, but this had to be done.

I've never had a bad experience. Service is always above average.

I love their chix sharwma! Their soups are delicious. Be sure to bring ca$$h. There is convinient parking right next to their store.

Tried this spot upon recommendation from a friend. Very disappointed. As I was leaving I noticed the bald gentleman was handling food without gloves. Food came out very soggy. They only take cash and charge for every little thing ketchup, hot sauce etc. as I was charged $3 for 2 small containers of hot sauce that they forgot to put in my bag. You’re better off going to Main Street, Paterson and spending your money there for some actual authentic Middle Eastern food.

I used to come here often and introduced my adult daughter to it a couple of years ago. She had a really disappointing chicken kebab pita sandwich recently. The chicken wasn't marinated as it usually is. It had no flavor. The quality was also a little grizzly. She was really put off by it and ended up throwing it away. I'm hoping someone there sees this and make a point of returning this dish to the previous quality that I've always known and loved.

Absolutely love this place. Highly recommend the steak platter with hummus and baba ganoush.

The best chicken Shawarma pita sandwich that I've had in a long time. An awesome find and don't let tiny hole in the way setting keep you from trying their cuisine! I'm a fan!

One of the best places in Downtown Montclair for falafel. I like falafel sandwiches and this place never disappoints. It’s at a walking distance from my apartment. I have tried Falafel sandwich and the Galilea platter - both are tasty. Highly recommend this place. P.s - they don’t accept cards, cash only.

We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the vegetarian platter. The grilled chicken sandwich was so delicious, loads of fresh mozzarella on top of a nice and soft marinated chicken breast piece. They can customize the sauce if you want. I chose their green sauce instead of the honey mustard or mayo. Galilea is their main vegetarian platter that contains hummus, tabouleh, grape leaves and falafel. They also have a separate vegetarian menu. Quaint little family owned restaurant with wonderful people!

Always a good time going to beyond Pita. I’ve been going there for a few years now. My favorite is the falafel and pita!

Unauthentic, make the trip to Paterson for real Middle Eastern food.

First and last time, pure slop. You really need to go through reviews. I ordered a falafel and lamb gyro everything was cold and soggy. It is also not lamb it's meat mashed together. It was purchased for me as a treat had I been at the restaurant no way I would have purchased. Lamb gyro is layered on the gyro machine not mashed.

Been going there for years. Best Mediterranean takeout around. The owners and staff are friendly and they know who you are. Take out or you can eat at the few tables outside. No frills just great food and friendly people.

They put soooo much sauce on their sandwiches, More like soup at times. No credit cards accepted. Don’t wear gloves at times. Not sure if it’s law to use? Otherwise good food!

Nice small place, I ordered the falafel. When I tell you that falafel was packed, it was packed, and it amazingly delicious. By far the best falafel in the area that I have experienced.

I challenge anyone to find better Mediterranean food in the area. Jerry is the best! And although there is no seating other than the tables outside, this is a spot you have to go to if you enjoy anything, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. The lamb kebab is unbelievable the Kibeh is amazing. Falafel - same. Baba Ganoush super creamy and just loaded with flavor. Everything is so fresh. Get over there and say hello to Jerry.

Honestly the best gyro spot in all of Montclair behind Bloomfield. Consistent everytime! (you gonna need cash to giddy up)

When Jerry is there the food gets done correctly. Good Falafel. Eating outside only but worth trying. Food was very good. Recently food has been inconsistent. Updated April 2023.

Food is always fresh n filled w great flavor. Service is quick along w great smiles. Atmosphere..is a quick pick up place for food !

Probably the best falafel pita I've ever had. Tiny hole-in-the-wall with only enough room for maybe 3 customers standing inside. A few tables outside for seating. The menu they have hanging is very confusing (why are "French fries" listed under "Hot Sandwiches"? Why are the normal pita sandwiches listened under "specials"? Etc) The older guy working there isn't the friendliest. That said, the prices are good, the service is fast, and the food itself is great. Highly recommended for takeout.

I had a falafel sandwich once I had a craving for falafel and it did the job. I didn’t like that they only accept cash so I had to use the ATM next door.

I'm a huge shawarma fan but not so easy to find them in NJ. We were in the neighborhood so we stopped by. Small place (which we love) no seating. We both ordered a shawarma, it was good - I ordered mine with everything which I think was too much in one pita. I usually get shawarma when I'm in Canada, I'm used to more pickled veggies, garlic sauce etc... The other menu items looked good.

The most amazing shawarma over hummus. Warm service. Every bite of what I’ve tried from the tabouli to the farmer’s cheese is thoughtful and full of flavor. The best post-workout meal in Montclair.

Food was amazing everytime i went . The ladies who work there are wonderful and polite but THE OWNER HAS THE NASTIEST ATTITUDE AND BECAUSE OF THAT I WILL NEVER SPEND A PENNY THERE AGAIN!! Very unfortunate

Hole in the wall place with no indoor seating but they have a few tables outside. The chicken kebab pita was tasty, but it’s not easy to eat. It would have been better if everything was chopped up smaller instead of big pieces. They give a lot of sauce, which I prefer than too little sauce, but it does make it messy to eat there. Great value for the price.

Cheese steak worth the hype - delicious. Great bread, love the potatoes in there. Solid.

A quirky little hole in the wall place that serves up some of the best street food around. People will line up for this middle eastern fair. It is take out only with a few tables outside. Don’t be distracted by its appearance, the food is so good.

Nobody does Hummus, Baba, and Felafel better than this small takeout place. So get some great, healthy food and take it home, or sit outside by the traffic circle and watch life go by.

My first time there. My sister comes here whenever she is in NJ. We will surely come again. The food was fresh and tasty. The baklava was delicious.

Haven't been here in probably a decade, but it's still here, so that says something. The place is small with no tables. There's no fancy electronic menu screen or ordering interface or Square terminal. The place doesn't even accept credit. All there is a kitchen and a counter. Because here, the food is the focus, and it always has been. My friend got the chicken shawarma and really liked it; I got the mujadara. It was super! I asked for no yogurt and they suggested tahini instead, informing that it is vegan. Beyond Pita has always been vegetarian and vegan-friendly as long as I can remember. Come try the falafel.

Uh oh! I have had dozens of BP grilled chicken on salad with amazing tahini...today, everything changed... The grilled chicken had no seasoning and the tahini recipe was different and not as flavorful. I was charged $16.80 for the salad and one dessert. waaay too expensive and very disappointing.

I love this place. I get the greek salad and chicken Sharma a few times a month. My goodness I LOVE the salad dressing! The owner and workers are always friendly and know me by name/face. I recommend ordering ahead if you do not want to wait around.

AMAZING AUTHENTIC FOOD!! Tastes just like how my grandma use to make it! So glad I found this place. Prices are very reasonable,hefty portions, and most importantly it’s DELICIOUS! Best schwarma in Montclair. 8$ You can get really good baklava too, to go for 4.50$ Sometimes the owner is rough around the edges but he's a really good guy. Im never disappointed and I eat here sometimes twice a week.

Always good food from here. I do wish that he accepted cards for payment. It's cash only or you can order on door dash. Staff is really friendly. My go to is the halas platter. It has a little bit of everything. The cheese steak is my number 2.
