They food was amazing and I've been trying different place around the polk county area. They had nice back ground music playing when I walked in, and they immediately noticed me and started helping me. They walked the food out to my table and checked on me to make sure I was satisfied.

The staff were beyond friendly and helpful when we asked questions. The food came out quick and was so good. I will absolutely return and recommend it to people I know.

Every week on Wednesdays my wife and our friends from across the road go out to eat. We decided to try this restaurant as something new. We were very pleased and will definitely be back. The food was definitely authentic and was made fresh to order. If you haven’t tried this place and like Jamaica food, this is a must try. The portions were large and would be enough for the largest of appetites. The owners were very nice and happily answered all our questions. Highly recommend!

I just tried this place today, and it was really good! The oxtails were delicious, and I loved the peas and rice. I really loved the cornbread, too. For a large plate, I wish I would’ve gotten an extra piece of cornbread because they are small, but the cornbread was amazing. I also wish I could’ve gotten more mac n cheese. The service was fast, and I didn’t have to wait long for my food. I will definitely be back, and I’m taking my fiancé too.

I love oxtail and was wary of a Jamaican place in bartow after living in Miami for so long. But let me tell you there food is AMAZING!!! I definitely will start to be a regular here.

Best Jamaican food in the Lakeland/Bartow area. Everything tastes great and the customer service is top notch.

This was our second time trying this place, and we enjoyed our meals both times. All meals are made fresh to order. Large dinners come with either rice or rice and peas, plus two sides. My wife and I ordered oxtails and brown stew chicken. We both really enjoy one of their sides; Jamaican coleslaw. We also ordered two beef paties. Everything came out excellent, and we will have to try the curry next time.

The food was delicious and great value for money. The menu wasn’t overly complicated and the staff were super friendly! Good wholesome home cooked food that really felt it was cooked from the heart. A welcome break from corporate chain food! Great place!

Best Ox Tails in town!! I’ve been eating at B&G for more than a year and I can’t get enough! I’ve referred numerous people and NOBODY has ever had a bad experience! I recommend them to anyone that’s looking for a great Jamaican Cuisine!!

I will like to say this is the best Jamaican Restaurant I ever tasted. The Brown Stew Chicken is a must try. The Brown Stew Chicken is made how it suppose to be made. This is my new Jamaican spot and will be a long term customer.

Ordered jerk chicken, mac and cheese and cornbread and all were outstanding! The staff was very kind and gracious. The service was superior. I definitely recommend eating here...you'll be glad you did!

The most authentic Jamaican food you can get within miles and miles. The food is great, and the portions are technically two meals. It's a small mom and pop business that is definitely bringing some Jamaican flavor to Bartow.

I haven’t tried all their side but every one I’ve tried is amazing no complaints here at all good portion sizes two can eat off a large plate for sure but you’re gonna want it all to yourself how good it is!! If you’re debating trying just go and try it out I promise tou won’t regret it a single bit

I’ve been searching for a good Jamaican place for quite awhile. This place hands down is the best/most authentic Jamaican food I’ve ever had. A husband and wife own it are extremely sweet!

My wife is hard to convince about any new food, but we feel like it's our home food for sure we'll be back. A great fair restaurant, delicious and a good price.

The outside strip mall restaurant with a big Jamaican Flag on it, you can't miss it. Walked in to nice ambient Jamaican music playing. The first thing to catch my eye was the writing on the wall, literally... It was a Jamaican proverb, it made me smile and made me interested in knowing the kind of person running the place. I walked up to the window, and a smiling elder woman of color greeted my friend and I. She was very polite and welcoming.. We ordered the curry chicken and curry goat both with rice and peas, one with Jamaican coleslaw and the other with cooked cabbage. Reasonably priced, portion was good enough to get full from. The flavor was delicious, it made my face happy. My friend enjoyed hers as well. There were a few wooden table and chairs there so we decided to eat there. The lady brought our food out to the table. We Grabbed a couple of the Jamaican sodas and had a great lunch. We then ordered 2 patties, not because we were still hungry, just because we wanted to try them... WARNING, If you don't like real spicy food, don't get the pattie. It felt like it melted my taste buds. Glad I ate the curry first or I wouldn't have been able to taste it. As we were getting up to leave, the lady thanked us and wished a quick return. That's when I found out that the lady was Gloria. Ms Gloria is the G in the B&G. Her and her husband run the place. I was truly blessed to have come across this place just because I wanted something different to eat. I could tell that Ms Gloria loves what she is doing. We asked her if she catered in Lake Wales since this place was located in Bartow, she said yes but she prefers to see her customers faces.. I love that. That just tells me she enjoys feeding people. When you enjoy feeding people the love shines through. Thanks B&G. I will visit again.

Just moved here and been missing my goat curry with rice and peas, I work right around the corner found this place and couldn’t stay away since that day. Attitude always on point service always great… keep it up guys…

I ordered a to-go small curry chicken with rice and peas and cornbread. For a small, the portion was huge! (Im not complaining lol) Everything was delicious and hot even when I got back to the office. Seasoning was on point and the cornbread was very moist. It was sweet and I love sweet cornbread . Service was fast and the young lady at the counter was very pleasant. 10/10 definitely recommend

We where on are way to Miami and spotted this plaza and found this restaurant... Now we take 35 minutes drives just to come and enjoy food., very nice and joyful friendly place...

Major disappointment, I Order a Oxtail the price for Small $17 and a large $20 I order a large to go. I get to my office and the portion was far from large. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip, When is it custom to tip on a to go order? It's not like I sat down to eat in the restaurant and a server took my order and clean up after me. This tipping on to go orders has to stop!! Will not return base on your portion control. Folks go to Jerk hut they serve with love, 2 CAN EAT for $18 DOLLARS!!

During my stay in Bartow, FL, I was fortunate enough to find the restaurant right next door to the laundromat I used. It was a treasure in disguised. At one point I ordered something from the menu for a week straight. Everything I ordered, I would highly recommend to everyone. I told family and friends and they became customers too. As I ordered my last plate of oxtails and big pulled jerk chicken sandwich, one of my co-workers who I had recommended the restaurant came in and ordered his meal for the third straight day. So after all the writing, here’s what I enjoyed: oxtails, turkey necks (served in pieces like oxtails), pulled jerk chicken sandwiches, fried jerk chicken sandwich, Jamaican patties, rice and peas, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and to finish off my last meal, they added a cornbread muffin. If I had known the cornbread was also good, I would have included it with each meal. Lastly, on multiple visits, the cook made exceptions for me by making the pulled jerk chicken sandwich, even though it was not available to the rest of the public. The cook and both cashiers were always friendly and always smiled or said hello. I gave them a 5 star recommendation, but they deserve a 10. If I’m assigned to work in the area again, they will have a loyal returning customer.

Came here thinking I was going to get an authentic freshly made beef patty. I received a warmed up Walmart frozen section beef patty. I asked the women working they acted as if it was freshly made! I know the difference between a real patty vs a frozen one! . DO NOT get a beefy patty from here waste of money! The first time I came here I got the curry goat and it was mostly bones. I came back to give it second chance with the oxtails they are mediocre. Places like Golden Crust and Caribbean Sunshine Bakery in Orlando taste better and they give you a lot of food for a $20.00 plate unlike here. If anyone gave a 5 star clearly has never tasted real Jamaican food because this is by far not it! This is ridiculous.
