Place is nice, service was great, very nice people. I got takeout. But in my opinion the food was sub par. Hot and sour soup is not hot in the slightest. Orange chicken Was soggy and falling apart. Chicken fried rice is good. Wasn't for me but please form your own opinion, this was just my experience.

Went to Big Buddha for friday dinner. i have ordered Mongolian Beef(Salty), Curry Chicken(good), Sesame Chicken(good), Yang Chow Fries rices(Salty) and Egg drop is okay. We like Service and Atmosphere.

This is my go to place for Chinese. My favorite is twice cooked pork but all the dishes are super good. The lunch menu could not be better. Lots of choices and super reasonable. Same with dinner. Try it, you'll like it.

It wasn't bad. That's more than I can say for most restaurants

I like the orange chicken and combination fried rice. The orange chicken is a lightly breaded chicken breast, cut into strips. I can't vouch for much else because I don't eat here often. Staff is nice, service is good. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. 👍

I totally love this place I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese food because when it’s not authentic it will hurt my stomach and this restaurant let me tell you it is very authentic I absolutely love there food I enjoy it every time I go there. The prices are very fair and the servers are very nice service is pretty quick for the most part the only problem I had the last time I ate there is they brought my wife’s and my friends wife their meal and me and my friend waited quite a bit for our meal, that was a bummer but I did not complain. I hope that does not happen again. Next time I will address it to the manager on staff.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go for a good meal at a good price. The other evening I ordered some barbecue pork as an appetizer and what I got was some mini chips of dried up pork. The shrimp and lobster sauce was just as bad. No taste and swimming in brown water... I think that was supposed to be the lobster sauce. Never again.!

I cannot stress enough… GO TRY THE RESTAURANT!! From the atmosphere, to the impeccable service, to the DELICIOUS food. I cannot say enough about this place. We’ve been 4 times in a month (1 Uber eats delivery and even then the presentation was awesome!) because all the things previously mentioned. We try at least one new thing every time we go and it hasn’t disappointed once! Melissa, Uncle, and Sam are amazing! However, everyone who works there all have been so incredibly nice but I don’t remember everyone’s names YET. The WONTON SOUP was described as a warm hug to me and i couldn’t agree more! The ORANGE PEEL CHICKEN is the best I’ve ever had. The SINGAPORE RICE NOODLE is one of my personal faves! I will list everything we’ve tried and loved! Twice Cooked Pork, Taiwanese style beef, Egg foo young, Vegetable Lo Mein, Kung Pao Delight, Mongolian Beef. You can not go wrong! Hope you love it as much as we do ❤️

My boyfriend and I used to love this place, every once in awhile we would come over to the other side of town to eat here. Tonight after a long shift at the restaurant he worked at, we were hungry and came here. I saw last seating on the door was 8:30 and it was 8:20 at the time. We hurried in and we’re told due to slowness they were closing early. Ok they made a business decision and that’s fair but honestly we won’t be coming back. Bye Buddha 👋

Since I moved up into the Surprise area, I've attended this restaurant a lot more that I used to. I thought a revision upon my original review was warranted. The best Chinese food in the area! Hands down! The food is excellent. My faves are the Spicy Boiled Wontons. You get 10 wontons in a spicy garlic peanut sauce. It's basically a soup but not listed as a soup. OUT OF THIS WORLD!! If you're looking for your basic Chinese restaurant dishes, this place will not be for you. Some dishes of interest: The Orange Peel Chicken is great. Totally different from the usual Orange Chicken you get from regular Chinese restaurants. I'm not saying that other restaurants make this badly. Just saying that Big Buddha does it a bit differently and the flavors are awesome!! Other faves of mine are Mongolian Beef or Hunan Beef. Both great choices. House Lo Mein is always a go to for me as well. The service in the restaurant is always top notch. Very nice employees do a great job from greeting you, service, refilling your drinks.....ect. The interior of the place is very hospitable as well. If it's not too warm, you can choose to eat out on the patio which has misters. If you go during dinner hours, expect to wait to be seated. In my opinion, the wait is well worth it. Also, the lunch menu is out of this world. The portions are great plus you get an egg roll, fried rice and a crab puff with your main course at a reasonable price. They are closed on Tuesday. And close from 3pm - 4pm daily. Give Big Buddha a crack! You will NOT be disappointed.

Everything about this place is my style. The food, the atmosphere etc. The service was phenomenal, I'm pretty sure they all share tips because there was no 1 person serving our table. It was a "all hands on deck" type of situation. The food is really good and I'll definitely be going back for more, I just wish they all wore hairnets in the kitchen. We had found quite a few hairs in our orange chicken unfortunately.

Quality of staff and food is consistently good. I have no interest in looking elsewhere.

I ordered the sesame chicken lunch special "to go." WOW! It was a lot of food (more than I could eat) and was delicious. I'm sure it's not always this fast, but I was a 'walk-in'. I ordered from the cashier, and she brought my food ready to go within 2 (two) minutes!

We are new to the area so we have been trying new places. This is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants we came across. Appetizer, we recommend the Spicy Boiled Wonton. Mongolian beef is outstanding. House chicken is amazing, and so is the Orange chicken. Kung Poa Delight is full of assortment of veggies as well as meat with a subtle spice, and you can always add more. Everything is worth the visit. Hope you enjoy as much as we did♡

It's very upsetting when they make a mistake on their order by not putting the rice in there we asked him to credit us they won't do that we ask them can they deliver to us they don't want to do that neither so we had to go back we start time and gas again it's been extra money that we should have had to spend because they cannot check there order correctly definitely when I come back again with there attitude

I've never had any issues and I know times are tough, but first they didn't find my order, then when the "remade it" and we got it home is was HALF the portion as usual!!!! Looks like a 3000% markup! 8 piece of chicken foe the sweet and sour chicken for 13.50 and the Singapore noodle used to OVERFLOW the container and this time was less than HALF of the container for 14.50!! Very pissed for an order of 40+ bucks! So sad

Big Buddha is the place to go for Chinese food if you're in the Surprise area. Highly recommend egg foo young.

Maybe most of the people that love this food have been coming a long time or maybe I went on a bad day. I asked for extra sauce for my orange chicken, which I was very hopeful for from reviews. No extra sauce and it didn't meet the hype. The Singapore rice tasted like cheap chicken ramen, and very heavy on the tumeric. The portions were very small for my chicken dishes. Not only was I not impressed I was very irritated to spend so much money to be disappointed. The ambiance was nice, but that was it.

Had a short wait. Four of us had never eaten there. We were hoping for a good meal and Big Buddha did not disappoint.

Every single time I order take out from this place there super expensive and I never ever get any spoons or forks napkins I once ordered for 10+ people didn’t get any sauce or plates sometimes they give the small size of rice and most times they don’t

Absolutely awful, over priced food. ( So awful I wouldn’t even classify it as food ) The crispy orange beef was so over cooked it was inedible. My shrimp egg foo young had zero shrimp but had a terrible fishy taste that really turned my stomach. My 2 egg rolls were under cooked and cold inside. Just an absolute nightmare. And all this for nearly $80. I will never eat there again and suggest to all of you that read this to eat elsewhere .

I got food poisoning from eating here last night. Spent 72$ on dinner for my friend and 2 sisters and 3 out of 4 of us are sick this morning.

First time there...it won't be the last. Two lunch specials...sesame chicken and moo goo gai pan...enough left over to start another lunch. Including tip: $27.

This place can't be beat. Excellent Chinese food!! I would even go as far as to say, it's THE BEST we've ever had. Their orange chicken is AMAZING!! We will definitely be regular customers here. ***DELICIOUS***

Tried 5 dishes to go. Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Mongolian Beef were wonderful and spicy. Beef with Broccoli was good/average. The Chicken Lo Mein was overcooked...noodles were mushy. The food was packed perfectly to stay hot for the ride home. Would definitely return.

It has been a while since I. Ate there, but when I did. I did not enjoy it at all. In fact, I can't find a decent Chinese restaurant around here. I know we all have different taste. And that's a good thing, but I really wish we get a good Chinese restaurant around here.

After seeing reviews, and people recommending this Chinese Restaurant, my husband and I figured we would try it out. It was very disappointing. We moved from NY 3yrs ago so Chinese food is a staple for takeout there. Many said it is like NY Chinese food but it was not at all. We ordered pick up and when my husband went to go get the food he said it was packed so we really thought it was going to be good. Everything we had was overcooked, and both chicken dishes were swimming in the broth or juice they were cooked in, yet still somehow had no flavor. Our lo mein noodles were mush and the broccoli was also overcooked. We were really hoping to have found a new Chinese take out spot close to home, but we will most likely not be ordering from here again, especially given the prices.

Food was just OK. Pork chow mein was 85% bean sprouts and lacked flavor of any kind. Mongolian beef was also lacking in flavor. Everything looked great and arrived hot, but without flavor, the freshness didn't mean much.

Best chinese food in the west valley 100 percent reccomend one of my all time favorite places. And that orange peel chicken is to die for!

Good food at a reasonable price. My reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the egg rolls. I wish they were the bigger traditional egg rolls. These were small little spring rolls. Smaller than spring rolls actually. Real crunchy and not that tasty. But other than that nice friendly and clean place.

I live on Goodyear and I drive to Surprise just for them.

Good service... even when they are busy. Average Cantoneese food, quickly prepared and served. Very busy at lunchtime, with numerous take out patrons. Easy parking, fast service and good quantity dishes at reasonable prices.

My family has been going to this restaurant for over a decade. It is my favorite restaurant to go to. We have watched their business grow. They are such amazing humble people, from the owners down to the waiters and waitresses they are an amazing family business. The food Is delicious, I’ve tried every meal on the menu and I’ve never not loved any of them.

Really great Chinese food! Portions are big, taste is on point! Had the pu pu platter and was plenty for 3 people. Could definitely be shared with 4 people. The garlic chicken was delicious and a tad spicy. The twice fried pork was good but slices of pork are thin and small, not my favorite. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious and the breading was fluffy on the inside crispy on the outside. Fried rice was underwhelming, more like rice with soy sauce. The chicken lo mein was great! Staff are very quick, efficient and friendly. They really work as a team to make sure everyone is well taken care of! Will definitely be back.

It was good! I love a good lunch special. The lunch special includes a crab puff, soup, an egg roll, and fried rice on top of what you order. Service was fast and everything tasted good; I got the chicken lo main.

Our food came out at separate times, we had to ask twice to get our glasses refilled. The food is just alright. Nothing special.

I really hope with all the expansion of Surprise we can get a replacement for this place. Your food is great, but damn the service sucks so bad! If you order online and you have to WAIT until you get the text to pick up- but by the time you get it, the food has been sitting. Tonight, I go in right after getting the text and no one is available to hand me the food that I can see is sitting right there in the warmer. If you aren’t going to have someone at the counter for to-go orders, then just leave them on the counter.

Overall great food and service.. however, waiter kept making comments that made both me and husband uncomfortable. We ordered appetizer platter and dinner- we usually take leftovers for our adult children since they couldn't attend. I don't feel we should have to feel discriminated against- called my husband big guy and said oh that's a lot of food.. shouldn't they be happy we ordered more food? Not sure we will be back or if so takeout only.

The first time we tried this and it was a 3 star. However, dine in is a COMPLETELY different experience. Chef special Orange chicken Chef special General Tso PuPu Platter (yeah, the name gave me the giggles) ALL of it was perfection. The flavors were off the chart good. The only thing we didn't care for was the soy rice. It's a little heavy on the soy sauce. The egg rolls were hands down the BEST I've ever had in my life. I'd come back just to eat a plate of those alone.

Awesome locally owned restaurant

I recently dined at Big Buddha, and it was an absolute delight! The won ton soup is hands down the best I've ever had, and the spicy won ton soup is my personal favorite; it's the perfect balance of flavors and heat. Even though I'm not usually a fan of egg rolls, the ones here are unbelievably addicting – a must-try. The lunch specials are fantastic, offering great value for your money, and the Singapore noodles are incredibly delicious. Big Buddha has become my go-to spot for a satisfying and flavorful meal! If you choose to go tell Uncle, David says hi, if you don't know who Uncle is ask your server they may look at you funny and wonder where you heard that name, secret is, all the servers call the older server uncle. A very personal pleasant dining experience.

Good ambience and a great service. Loved their beef on skewers, crab puffs and Singapore fried Rice. Interesting was their Buddha bombers! Would surely be back again!

This is a regular stop for us. They are so friendly here, and the food comes out fast. And you don't leave here hungry, the portions are big.

Tried this place for the first time today. Loved it! Ordered the Orange chicken. It was super busy but we were served very quickly and food came quick too. Loved the mango ice tea yum! Will definitely be back.

Great place to eat and to celebrate!

They've been consistently good for the last three years. Service is quick even during peak hours. My favorites are the Mongolian Beef and Sesame Chicken. I've never had an issue here, but some people I've eaten with say the food is too saucy or oversaturated with sauce.

Used to be my fav, not anymore. The green beans in my dish were disgusting. So past their prime it’s unimaginable that anyone would use them in a dish.

This l place is Great for a casual night out. My wife and I decided to eat out last night (10/19/2023). My wife is vegan, me, not. She had a dish with Tofu and Vegetables and I had Pork Fried Rice and also Orange Chicken. We were seated quickly and given time to peruse the menu. Our waiter returned quickly and took our order. Both of us enjoyed our meal as the food was tasty and just the right temperature. This will be our go to Chinese Restaurant in the Future.

Remodeled a few years ago; the atmosphere is splendid. Great wood art pieces mixed with walls with depth and lighting. The food has been well thought out, even to the point of reheating at home. (I have never met a chef that considered reheating elements of their food). The whole order came out hot and fresh off the cooking line all at once. The fried tofu is the best I've had. The tofu kept its shape thanks to a coating that soaked up the addictive flavor of the sauce still maintaining a crunch. The Mongolian chicken was also the most delicious and flavorful dish. The onions and scallions complemented this dish perfectly. I highly recommend this dish. The honey walnut shrimp had very crispy walnuts which gives you the satisfying crunch and snap of walnut mix of flavor. In general, I'm not a fan of some strong Chinese spices but the Taiwanese crispy beef plays a very good balancing act that can make or break this dish. It was fantastically good! As someone who has cooked their own fried rice, I rarely get it right. The fried rice here has a light and delicate flavor, perfect to eat on its own or with other foods without compromising the flavor of other dishes. I highly HIGHLY recommend Big Buddha. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes.
