We love the place. It is our weekend breakfast cafe. Tasty empanadas, friendly staff.

I always had come here with my friend but today really upset me first, I get they might of forgotten my vanilla latte after they handed me my empanada… whatever on that but just had to point it out . Second , they were too busy chatting around with a costumer that once that costumer left .. they told me and my friend that they are CLOSED ! no 5 min warning ! Me on the other hand wasn’t even finished with my empanada had to rush out and finish it outside . Couldn’t waited at least till I was done ?!? While they were still inside picking stuff up . Very rude and uncalled for . I get you might have been there all day but at least warn me so I don’t have to rush outside with my food and drink . I’m never coming here again they lost a regular costumer .

Really great empanadas! I liked the traditional beef Peruvian empanadas the best. Highly recommend.

The cashier must ask... “Are you eating it now? 👀” If YES, give it on wax paper bag, and that's it. ✅ For ONE EMPANADA, they gave me: One paper bag Three napkins Too much wax paper as if I was going to give it as a present 🎁 Let's be more eco-friendly, people. ♻️ 💰💵💸 Plus, you're losing TONS of money and resources daily that you could be saving for your business 🙄🙄

Empanadas are amazing, the coffee is okay, but you really go there for three empanadas.

Coffee and food we're just okay. Got the raspberry and cream cheese, was expecting it to be higher quality and have real raspberries inside. More like something I could have gotten off the shelf at Safeway next door.

The empanadas are really good. The dough is soft with a little crunch and there are lots of savory filling options. Lots of hot sauce options too. Make sure to eat the empanadas warmed up. The owner and staff are friendly. A great neighborhood spot for a satisfying snack.

Really cute cafe with delicious tea drinks and empanadas. I got the tropical mango shaker that is mango syrup and black tea. Very delicious!

A casual place in a strip mall serving very tasty and a variety of empanadas. I tried their breakfast sausage empanadas and two of their sweet empanadas. Very tasty and filling. Their drip coffee and barista made coffee are also great. Warm and friendly service. Highly recommend BigE cafe.

We split four empanadas: the spinach & cheese, the Mediterranean, the chicken & mushrooms, and the traditional Peruvian. They were all great, but between two people, you'll wanna plan to order more. Would be nice if they offered some side dishes too, and apparently they don't have plates.

Kind of a let down but the empanadas were still OK, just not great. They are not made on site, saw the guy bringing them in from his van. They heat them up and serve but ours were not heated up in the middle. The salsa choices are terrible, nothing fresh just grocery store stuff, no lime and no chimichurri. Half the fun of eating empanadas is putting on the sauce. No bathroom. Took a surprising amount of time for them to not get our empanadas heated up. The Empanadas themselves are good, especially the traditional beef. Whoever is making them is doing her/their part but the people at the store are not serving them right.

Empanandas are always a treat for us ( hearty breakfast or lunch). The selection is good and includes a Mediterranean. I stop by, there's always a good selection. The wait is a few minutes while they are warmed, but you can take them cold and heat at home. Also has a good expresso drinks.

The coffee here is great! Best cappuccino I've had in San Jose. However, they should not call this place an Argentine Cafe. They are not real Argentine empanadas. They should call them hot pockets instead.

They are delicious. They taste how you would want an empanada to taste. The dough, the fillings, good stuff. I take them home and reheat. It's nice to have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

There empanadas are out of this world.

Large empanadas with a wide variety of fillings, and the coffee is really good too. What can be better? If you're looking for a cozy little coffee shop with generous portions of food and a chill atmosphere, I highly recommend this place!

Best empanadas in the area. Great selection of fillings as well - Breakfast options are always solid - but the traditional Peruvian and chicken cilantro are probably my all time faves.

This place has the best Empanadas in the South Bay. Their beef empanadas is most popular and also my favorite. It has olives, raisins, onions, and other things. So it's more flavorful and fun to eat than the ones at other restaurants. Other empanadas are good too. Try them out for yourselves. You won't be sappointed. I hope that the restaurant will continue to use better ingredients and make the empanadas taste good. Inflation is here. Whatever you(restaurant) do, raise the prices if you must, but do not cut back on the ingredients!

In general fairly good. Some of the empanadas seem more catered for the non-latino customers.

Not good I was there a good 10/ 12 minutes the y say they called my # the girl knew it was my order an didn’t say nothing then came the attitude they say we called the # several times I told them I must be hearing impaired and left

Todo bien ... Buena calidad en todo el servicio a cliente y limpieza pero .... Los rellenos de las empanadas no me gustaron. Tenían exceso de condimentos y exceso de aliños.... Compre pollo con cilantro no me gustó compré lomo tampoco me gustó compré pollo con hongos pollo con hongos si me gustó . Y también pedimos una que tiene carne pasas y aceitunas no me gusto No estoy diciendo que sea malo si no que para mí gusto personal. Los rellenos de las empanadas tenían demasiado aliños y condimentos en lo personal prefiero empanadas más simples y con variedad de salsas. Falta la clásica empanada con queso

We catered from here for my Tia's Celebration of Life. We are Chilean and usually make these a few times a year, but for this event was too much work. We ordered 75 empanadas, half beef and half chicken cilantro. They were a hit. The beef were very similar to how we make them at home. Everyone wanted to know if I made them. LOL. They were so good and individually wrapped so everyone just grabbed their own. We even ordered more to send home with our family that came from Hawaii. The staff was really nice. The empanadas are filling.

Empanadas are delicious but I think Milohas down the street is what I would recommend. I guess it depends on what your taste buds prefer. Otherwise I see lots of customers and pretty tempting empanadas. I ordered the Thai and gyro ones, they were okay 👌.

We come here at least once a week. Delicious ingredients stuffed into a pastry... what’s not to love. Our go to’s are the chorizo or the mushroom chicken. Finish it off with some fresh brewed light roast and that’s a good morning.

They have the best empanadas in town. I usually try something new. They have such a big variety to choose and i have tried 5 so far and i have not been dissappointed. It's hot, fulfilling and taste great.

This coffee shop is my favorite place to hang and do my work. I love this place because it was so quiet, cozy, and not too crowded. The coffees and pastries that they had were so delicious. I ordered a chicken empanada and a steak empanada. The chicken empanada was big in size, had great taste, and was filling. They're definitely was more meat than crust which was a surprise for me. As for the steak empanada, the taste was not what I expected. There is green olives, raisins, and onions with the steak. In my opinion the raisins and the olives were an off-putting taste for me but that is me. Again this empanada was filled with plenty of steak and on both of the empanadas the crust was very tasty and slightly buttery. Of course I only had the two for the savory empanadas but the dessert apple cranberry was an absolute must have again. The apples were largely diced, the filling was smooth but not too sugary, and once again it was the right amount of filling for the amount of crust. I do want to go back and try some other ones because the empanadas overall were very savory and filling. Big e Cafe has the feeling of a small coffee house but surprisingly has very filling foods. Definitely going to try again!
