I took of ratings basically cause the atmosphere could be so great, and then you see a couple little mini pride flags on the counter and it's just a total turn off, like when a musician takes a stance on politics and loses half his audience- I want music from you, not opinions, I want pizza from you, not this unprofessional flag non sense. And if you're gonna rep something then do it right and paint a pride flag on your interior walls, top to bottom, say it loud n proud - or put down the horn, cmon...

Best pizza in Missoula hands down. Missoula owned AND operated which is a huge plus for me - but pretty sure i've never had a bad experience there, dine-in or take-out (even the GF crust is amazing!) - thanks Bob, for this amazing Missoula staple!

Wrong order completely and brook the one that took our order started screening mine and my wife's calls after another employee offered to fix our order. Horrible service

I ordered a vesuvio which says it comes with Cherry peppers, salami, olives and Moz cheese I got peperoncini on my pizza my kids don't due spicy and I also ordered the one with portobello mushrooms which is priced as such and got button mushrooms only... not happy the female Brooke who took my order sounded stressed when I placed my order, I did ask her if it was busy right then, and let her know, I could call back. She said no, took my order and got it wrong, but they still got my order wrong

Birthday pizza with my grandson was excellent. We go there regularly love it.

Had problems with orders on 2 consecutive nights. Within 48 hours of leaving a poor review, the owner Bob Marshall personally took the time to call and make things right. No wonder this place has been successful for so many years!

Biga pizza lives up to all the hype and rave reviews. Don't waste a lot of time reading these reviews. If you like think crust Italian / NY style pizza, you will leave Biga feeling full and happy! My wife and I visited Missoula for a concert and were pleasantly surprised by the whole culinary, coffee, music, and art scenes there. But by far, Biga took the prize for the most impressive meal for the most reasonable price. We got a seasonal special salad with local tomatoes, greens, and dolmas. This salad had me craving it like it was a brownie! It was dressed with pine nuts, parmesan shavings, and an Italian dressing that should have its own Michelin star. The dressing had a perfect balance of acid to oil with a subtle sweetness. The pine nuts really shone and pulled the nutty and spicy greens together with the tangy sweet tomatoes. This was very close to the best salad I've ever eaten. The pizza also surpassed expectations. We kept it simple with the house pie; mozzarella, basil, garlic oil, and tomato sauce. The sauce tasted very fresh and like it was made from local ingredients. If it wasn't, it doesn't matter because it sure tasted like it. The crust was thin with a crispy exterior and a slightly chewy middle. This crust was as close as I've seen anyone get to the world famous Napoletano crust that I search for everywhere I travel. In my book, Biga ranks up there with Ray's in NYC, Tony's in San Fransisco, and Da Michele's in Napoli. When my wife and I travel, we seek out the best of the best pizza and coffee. I can't imagine there is a better pizza than Biga's any closer than San Fransisco. The service was also impressive and the atmosphere was great. BIGA is on Downtown Missoula's hip strip. It is a vibe worth catching!

Exceptional! We’ve enjoyed pizza across the globe and this rivals pizza we’ve had in Italy. We started with the heirloom & dolma salad and I don’t think I’ve ever had a salad more fresh and that I loved more than this one. One salad was plenty for the two of us. The House pie was also wonderful. If you have the chance to try this place you will be glad that you did.

Perfectly cromulent pizza joint.

The online ordering was made super easy. Delivery arrived right on time. But the chefs in the kitchen need to pay better attention to the toppings ordered. We did not have any olives or mushrooms which would of made the pizza all so much better. But the crust was delicious. Will give them another try next time we're in town.

Pizza was just alright. We really like the crust and sauce but holy was the pizza greaaasyyyy. I am not sure if it's the cheese or the meat but it wasn't the most pleasant experience. They were very busy so we understood that the service was wasn't going to be the best. Overall, not a place I would be rushing back to but will do fine enough for most.

We used Biga for two large catering events in July. The food was incredible, Bob and his crew were amazing as always, and pricing was very fair. I highly recommend popping in the restaurant for a great vibe or considering them for your next catering event!

After living in Missoula for years we finally decided to try the "meme pizza joint" that everyone acts obsessed with. We got two pizzas, one split pizza with two special flavors and one plainer split pizza with the cheese and basil and plain pepperoni to try out. Well, firstly, the pizzas are extremely overpriced. It was nearly 50$ for these two pizzas. I know it's a "specialty" place with unique pies, which I can appreciate, but I still think the prices are ridiculously high. The ingredients seemed fresh, and I could tell the dough was most likely made that morning. The dough was fresh and tasty. However, I thought the specialty pizzas were a little over the top, and too busy, the ingredients got lost on me and I feel as if the plainer pizza was much more delicious, simply letting the basil and mozzarella shine instead of slathering tons of random ingredients on top. The pepperoni was kind of mid and forgettable. I enjoyed it enough, although feeling it was overpriced and being a little disappointed with the speciality flavors (as not only were they significantly more expensive than the simpler pizza but they didn't taste as good). My husband enjoyed it as well, however, the food actually made him sick. I did not get any food poisoning, but he got it BAD. His stomach immediately began to hurt after we finished eating, and he had to go throw up, and was totally out of commission the next two days, bedridden and puking while randomly passing out and waking up again. I must have gotten lucky and dodged the food poisoned pieces. There were some uncooked ingredients on top, which I assume is where he got the food poisoning from, but who knows how it got contaminated. Incredibly disappointed, and I was sad I had to throw away the leftover slices as I was scared to get sick as well. All in all I would NEVER go back again for fear of one of us getting sick like the first time.

The Sicilian is really tasty and the other pizzas are worth experiencing. Expensive, but worth it.

I always get the sicilian— it literally can’t be beat. It’s even good the day after, straight out of the fridge. It’s not the cheapest pizza in town, but it’s certainly worth the price!

Great pizza! The 4 cheese and hot honey pizza was out of this world good, perfect balance of flavors and the crust was a great mix of soft and crunchy all at once. Service was fast and attentive and the place had good vibes all over. Highly recommended!

The customer service was top notch!!! Everyone was great! I just had cheese pizza, and it was very good. Next time I will try the specialty pizza. Atmosphere was also incredible. Overall a very good pizza joint!

Stopped in for a road trip break and felt like a local. This place was so casual and fun. The host let me sit down even though I was taking my pizza to go. The pizzq was amazing and delicious- the cheese flavor was incredible and unique. I even had some for breakfast the next day. Would highly recommend!

Literally the best calzone I have ever had.

I came here with my family while passing thru town. We were seated right away. Our servers were amazing and friendly. We had a mixed green salad which wa great and a peperoni pizza. The pizza was delicious! Don't skip this pizzeria if you're in-town and in the mood for good food.

Absolutely delicious, the chefs special was ingenious.

First was seated by a guy that seems like he doesn't want to be there or wants to be bothered. Pizzas that were ordered had no flavoring. I ordered a Sicilian and it needs to be called west coast Sicilian because as someone that lived near NYC it definitely wasn't a Sicilian. After driving for an hour after eating here everyone had to stop for a bathroom break and was sick. Since it was the only place we ate at for that day it was the only place it could have came from. On the plus side my 4 year old loved the kids plate.

I’ve been wanting to try Biga for a number of years but whenever I’ve been driving through Missoula- something else comes up. Well the opportunity arose on Friday night and I’m so glad I didn’t pass it up! We got two pies - The Sicilian and The Home Pie, along with a large Caesar for four of us to share. Everything was absolutely divine - next time I’m through Zootown, it’s not even a question of if I’ll be going back, the question will be which pie will I try next!

Visiting from out of town for work and this location was recommended to us by our local Missoula office for a dinner after arriving in Missoula mid afternoon (party of 2). We arrived at the restaurant on a Monday evening and sent the text to put our name on the wait list at 6:14pm. We were told about a 30 min wait, no worries there. We got the text at 6:45pm that they had a table ready. We were seated and given menus and waters. This is where it fell apart. Subsequent parties of 8, 2, 2, and 3 were seated after us. All but the party of 3 received their food before we did and we had to flag down a server just to take our order. Once we were served at just shy of 1 hour after being seated, we scarfed it down but really didn't enjoy it as we were extremely tired from traveling that day. It was 8:12pm by the time we left, two hours including our initial arrival and a 30 minute wait. Recall this was a party of two. Although the food was good, I can't give it anymore then the 2 star rating (and being a bit generous) due to extremely poor service and having to ask someone to take our order and absolutely no follow up after the food was served. We also had to ask for the bill. Visit at your own risk. Our experience was awful.

We had Biga Pizza cater our wedding and we could not be happier about how it turned out. Bob showed up and was incredibly helpful trying to get it organized. He helped facilitate a very smooth buffet line. And finally, as always, the pizza was sensational. Definitely recommend the Sicilian.

Will give this another try, but was not impressed on our first time there. Our cheese pizza was extremely overdone. I like the fired taste, but when it's too much, the burnt overtakes the flavor and it ends up like cardboard. Ordered a small side caprese salad...it was about the size of my fist. We did pickup, otherwise I would have asked the make another pizza. Off-nights happen sometimes, so we will try once more and update the rating if better.

Great pizzas, great staff, especially Michael (we think...) the manager who was welcoming, helpful and generally all round good guy. Went out of his way to make two English tourists really welcome, even though it was incredibly busy. It was so good we stopped on our way from Yellowstone to Glacier to get a take out pizza! Loved the fennel marmalade pizza!

Yummy pizza! I got mine to go. 1/2 Sicilian 1/2 prosciutto & arugula. A little heavy on the cheese for me but would definitely get again! And probably dine in. I only met staff on the to-go side but he was very friendly!

Carry out pizza is always hot and ready for pickup at the specified time. All of the pizzas are great, but the Meatball Verde is my favorite.

We were traveling through Missoula and happened upon this restaurant. How lucky for our tastebuds! We were in the mood for pizza and we were delighted with our choices. The location was also really pleasant.

Visiting Missoula and stopped here for dinner. Always a good sign when a restaurant is packed and no wonder, pizza (house pie) was excellent and worth waiting for. Highly recommend and attached photo of what you should expect to see after about 15 minutes…

The food was great but our server was so weird. We had 4 people at our table and she completely ignored the other couple. Didn’t check in on is either. The guy bussing was nice though!

Perfect crust! It is crispy, chewy goodness with every bite! The Meatball Verde and Sicilian pizzas are delicious picks! I highly recommend both. The service was on par with the pizza. They were very helpful and kept our drinks full too! This is definitely my go-to pizza joint in Zootown.

After a trip to Missoula and dinner at Biga Pizza, we decided to have them cater our wedding. Bob was so accommodating and helpful throughout the process, even allowing us to add one of their previous specials to our menu. Our guests loved the pizzas! We'd like to send a special thanks to Biga, Bob, and the whole team for all their hard work on our big day!

Awesome pizza! We had 1/2 Sicilian and 1/2 pricuitto and arugula it was really good. The place is quite small we had to leave are number and got a text about 45 minutes later, worth the wait. We will be back.

Not only was I blown away by the amount of vegetarian options, but the food was amazing (I got the focaccia sandwich + basil lemonade). The atmosphere was comfortable and clean, and my server was wonderful, friendly and just generally fantastic. Absolutely recommend and will eat here again!

Excellent take out pizza! We always sit in the restaurant and enjoy the pizza, but it was just as good at home. Toppings are always fresh.

We showed up (9 of us) at around 7:30 PM. We were warned that the wait time would be up to 45 minutes. Rather than wander around a town we weren't familiar with for half an hour probably finding little better, we stuck it out. The outdoor seating was quite convenient to wait on a pleasant spring evening. 35 minutes later, we were seated, and they took our order VERY quickly. Four pizzas were out maybe 15 minutes after that. It was very well cooked and delicious. We loved all of them. The daily special was a beef adobo, and we got the House Pizza, Hot Honey, and a Vesuvio. All of them were exactly as described, and I can't tell you how great the crust tasted. Would strongly recommend giving them a try.

Stopped for some pizza and salad. The salad was large and definitely sharable for the two of us. The ceasar could have used just a bit more dressing, but tasty. The pizza was excellent. Our server was wonderful and attentive and gave good local recommendations. The place was packed but service was quick so only a few had to wait for a bit.

When it’s done right it’s super good, but tonight was not great… we ordered double of each kind of cheese, and instead got one of cheese on one side. We also ordered pesto, and didn’t get pesto… also the tiramisu I bought didn’t have espresso in the ladyfingers. Edit: after seeing this review, the owner contacted me and made it right with me by making a wonderful pizza. I wish I had photos of it. Thank you so much for contacting me and making it right.

We tried two new flavors of pizza and we enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. We live in Montana and are from out of town. When we come back we will most likely order take out again.

The place was packed, with one table available when we arrived. The hostess met us at the door with a genuine, friendly smile within a minute of our entrance. Our waiter was also very friendly and had a happy, polite attitude. The food was delicious! I had a cheese canzone that was huge! Large enough for 2 people and absolutely made to perfection. A bargain for only $11.00

I live 80 miles from Biga Pizza, but I will make a special trip to Missoula just to dine there... The best calazone in Montana in my opinion, great pizza, and the Italian sub is to die for, great young folks working there and they have all been very nice and always give great service. The prices are still good and they don't try to take you to the bank for a great meal. Two thumbs up for Biga Pizza.

Love Biga. Been coming here for over a decade. The food is always on point and most of the service staff is warm and friendly. It's a bit pricey but not outrageous and always definitely worth it. Sounds simple but the goat cheese caramelized onions pizza is probably my favorite and is so rich and complex in flavor. My partner is obsessed with the Hungarian mushroom pizza. She's addicted to it. 😂 Can't go wrong with anything there really. Their antipasto options are great too. The wine and beer menu is varied and covers whatever you might have a hankering for. The atmosphere is bright and inviting with art work from locals on display. It can get extremely busy at times and with that comes a loud and hectic environment. The outdoor seating is nice but can get ruined quickly by smokers in the vacinity so something to keep in mind. They also will bring your food order to their next door neighbors drinking establishment which we've never done but seems like a plus.

We live about 115 miles away and every time we're in the vicinity we stop there for lunch. One of our normal wait staff has been there 14 years. Everything at Biga is top notch. We've never had a bad meal. Just look at all the awards hanging on their walls and that's confirmation.

Not cheap, but delicious. I had a winter squash (pumpkin, in this case) pizza with ricotta, scallions, and added fresh mozzarella. Small mixed green salad was scrumptious, with fresh sliced apple (pear, maybe?), pickled red onions, field greens, toasted whole pecans, gorgonzola crumbles, and a rich homemade dill ranch. Hog heaven. I'm not a vegetarian but this was a feast. It was delivered about 15 minutes later than the time provided on the online order, so order before you get hungry, is the takeaway there.

Visiting town with my sister and our mom. My sister used to live in Missoula and highly recommended we eat at Biga Pizza. My sister is gluten-free and her friend who joined us is vegetarian. We ordered one pizza with the gluten-free crust option, half caramelized goat and half four cheese and hot honey. The other pizza had regular crust and was half flathead cherry and half prosciutto and fig. We also ordered a large Mediterranean salad for the four of us to share (our waitress let us know it would be plenty and it was!) The salad was loaded with fresh veggies, the lemon-basil vinaigrette a delightful accompaniment. And the pizza? Absolutely incredible!! First up was the gluten free/vegetarian options with the caramelized goat cheese followed by the four cheese and hot honey. I easily could have declared myself a newly formed gluten-free vegetarian right there! Oh I'm so glad I didn't! The flathead cherry pizza was my mom's favorite and it was divine. But the prosciutto and fig.... no words are accurate enough to describe the experience.... Utterly magical doesn't even come close! We even drove back to the hotel the next day to rescue our leftovers from the mini fridge so we could have them for lunch. Biga Pizza is a MUST stop location when in Missoula.

Definitely a unique type of a Pizzaria. The menu has a decent enough of an array of unusual pies and sandwiches to at least curb the need for feed.

My experience honestly could have been a fluke. First time going, and I'm open to going again. The flavors were great, and the presentation was beautiful. Nice and attentive staff. Their red pepper flakes actually have good flavor. Most are bland and meant for cooking. I only had a couple of reasons to drop my rating, which could have just been my experience and are easily fixable! The first was that the pizza was really greasy, which led to a droopy softer pizza than I prefer. Secondly, the pizza wasn't cut the best. Otherwise, it was great!

Confusing with the two entrances to the same place. They should do a better job at explaining that they can't take your money on one side if your order was placed on the other side? ... Even though it's the same place...? Also, a little on the pricey side for just pizza and a salad. $41.00 for a pizza with cheese bread (thin and somewhat lacking) and a small salad. Missoula gives high stars for this place because they have no clue what good quality food is. To them, this pizza is quality, which is sad. I honestly don't think I'll be back.

I travel a lot and every time I come through Missoula I go here, this stuff is so good high quality and the owner(I believe) today I just was so great with staff and customers. I got a pizza that I called in and a salad that I added to the order once I arrived. They were so sweet on the phone and informed me of what did and didn’t have canola oil. Super presentable staff on both sides (walked in The restaurant side originally thinking I’d ordered there) they offered to get the pizza for me but I’d rather take a walk and assured them I’d get it. Love the atmosphere on both sides 👍🏻💛✨

The friendliest staff with the best pizza in town. One time I unknowingly ordered just before closing time, when I arrived I realized that an employee had stayed late just to allow me to pick up my order. These guys are the best!

I love their portobello mushroom melt, it was delicious in the restaurant and delicious as take out. The staff is so nice, friendly, and helpful. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

My wife remembered a great pizza experience from a visit to Montana four years previously, sought it out and the restaurant was closing but the “cafe-style” section was open for another hour so we dashed over and couldn’t have been more pleased to dine at the counter, plus my wife got a free T-shirt !! Great attentive staff, my favorite brewery Oskar Blues had an IPA on tap, wine was excellent and of course fabulous pizza ! We even had some for breakfast, too. We’re so lucky to have this little restaurant right here in Missoula. It’s cozy and the food is delicious and the service is the best. When you walk in you just know you’re gonna have a great meal. The best part is you’re never disappointed.

I absolutely loved the fact that we could order 1/2 pizzas to try many of the dishes offered ! The surprising and fancy flavor profile of these pizzas was the highlight of my trip. Definitely try an Italian soda while you're there !

BIGA PIZZA is outstanding! The dough is made by hand on location and thrown the old fashioned way then once the toppings are on, cooked in a fired oven. The results are stellar! The staff is super friendly too. It's a must try! The only way to truly experience it is to go and try the multitude of culinary offerings because they make more than pizza!

Ordered the vegan pesto veggie pizza that includes vegan cheese. AMAZING. Best I've had anywhere. Seriously impressive. Friendly staff and they where slammed with customers, still had my pizza in my hands within 30min. Highly recommend!

Had big expectations since it was rated 4.7 stars. The pizza we purchased was mediocre at best, certainly not the worst I've ever had, and definitely not the best. What honestly sealed the deal for me on the 1 star review was the customer service. I called and placed the order for the front street pick up, now to be fair the lady taking my order over the phone was very nice, but not once was it communicated to pick up on the main st side. We went in to the front st side for pick up as directed by the corresponding number you press on the phone tree. We’re standing there waiting for service (nobody around), a young teenager I assume, walks out, looks directly at us, puts something on a shelf and walks back from wherever he came. No, hi can i help you?, I'll get someone to help you, nothing. Close to 5 minutes goes by, I start to call the place, and another lady goes into the walk-in, she comes out and was about to go back from wherever she came from, so we grabbed her attention and asked for help and was told to go to the main st for pick up. I have no problem going to the other side, but that easily could have been communicated when the order was being placed, but it was not. So, if I could give zero stars for customer service I would. I will not purchase from here again. For the price of mediocre pizza I'll just order pizza hut or domino's, at least I know what I'll be getting, and will probably save a few bucks. Just a little tidbit to add, as we were leaving, three people walking out at the same time were complaining about the customer service also. Seems to me like a training session on how to treat customers is overdue.

My husband and I are from the east coast and love the thin crust style of pizza. I saw that the owner was from New Jersey, so we gave this place a try when in Missoula for business. It did not disappoint. We had an antipasto to start that easily could feed 4 to 5 adults followed by a 12-inch pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious, service was excellent! We will be back!

Best pizza in the world! Bob is a culinary school graduate and a superb chef. The restaurant has great service, is great value. I have been going there for years, used delivery, take-out, and catering services. I have always been happy with the food and service.
