The torta de milanesa was DELICIOUS! We stopped on our way back home from Minneapolis. 100% worth the stop if you’re on the road passing by or live here locally.

I walked in and stood there for awhile, no staff around. Finally a small child gave me a menu and sat me. Eventually, someone came out and took my order. I got the pork tacos and there was a lot of grizzle/fat that I had to spit out. Flavor was good. Chips were stale. They dropped the food off and never checked on me; never got a beverage refill. I had to ask to pay so I could leave agyer 15 mins of sitting there. Very poor service. Did I mention I was the only one there? Another couple came in as I was leaving but they obviously had the time to check on me and chose not to.

I have been going here since I was a little girl. My fiance & I came up from Florida to visit family - couldn't wait for him to try the true authentic Mexican food in the area, & best he has ever tried. Will always be my favorite place to stop in. 5/5 stars. Worth every penny . Highly recommend

The waiters was outstanding. The food was down home echatic Mexican food was great.the restaurant was clean and quiet. I live in Rochelle Illinois and this is the only Mexican restaurant I come to eat at. Best drinks and food, hands down. You'll love it there!!

So I live near the city of Chicago. I know good Mexican food since I am Mexican and have tried numerous places. Today I came to this location, since I was visiting family. The place is old and it smells musty. The bathroom were at least clean. The food was not good at all. It was very disfuncional, as if they cannot handle big groups. The steak tacos were not good at all. They also ran out of horchata within the hour and half they opened up. Would I be coming back ?? NO!! Im not sure where all these good reviews are coming from. Because of the reviews we decided to visit this place but it was just a waste of money.

Their torta Cubana is delicious, the only thing missing is a tasty margarita to go with it but sadly they're not currently serving alcohol. (They're serving alcohol again)

The food and service was really good. I had the goat birria and it was very authentic. The waitress was always checking on us to see if we were good or needed anything. I did notice cobwebs and dust around the restaurant.

Such sweet staff! Food is always delicious. They even gave us complementary churros that were absolutely devine!

The best caldo in town! I recommend 100%. and gorditas huaraches barbecue tacos and yummy tongue 😋

Service was slow. Food needs a little more flavor

Ordered delivery, horchata was overly sweet, chips and queso were horrible, queso was thick and pasty, horribly salty and my enchiladas were soggy and overly cheesy including the toppings being soggy, rice & beans flavorless and overcooked-old. I paid a 7$ delivery fee, plus a 6$ tip and a service fee for horrible food. I will be ordering from El Sol or El Senor de los tacos, supporting their local business, fresh food, 1/3 of the cost and they offer delivery without all the extra fees. Will not be supporting this business, I had them years ago but they have gone horribly in the wrong direction.

I've only been there 1 time. Were the only people in there. Placed our order then all of a sudden the whole place filled up. They all got served we didn't they all spoke Spanish we feel like we were discriminated against. Will never go there again took 2 hours to get our food with no apologies. Also ordered from there but we would pick up. Again 2 hour wait. Never again will I give them my business! My roommate likes their food I have had way better.

This place has seriously gone to trash. I’ve tried to give them so many chances, but they have messed up so many orders, and now won’t even switch to flour shells for me instead of corn I was told. I’ve ordered the same thing all the time there. The salsa is never consistent. The only thing consistent about this place is the rude owner and the customer service is non existent. I would give a zero if I could. I’m never stepping foot in here again, do not go here. It is a waste of your time, and I promise you will be disappointed.

Great food. I mean really great and authentic food. The goat stew is amazing but the more gringo friendly food is also spectacular. The service is horrible. Learn to carry a tray - what is with this one plate at a time for a table of six?! Server always disappears before the check arrives. And the place is dusty and the blankets are torn. Just nasty.

Delicious food! The server was inattentive as we never saw her again after food was delivered. So we had No refills on drinks. We eventually went up to another person and said we need our check. Food was good enough we will still be back, but maybe order and pick it up instead.

By far the best burrito I have had since Jimenez on Division, Chicago, IL in 1988! Very impressed and delicious!

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is cozy, the margaritas are PHENOMENAL, and the food is absolutely outstanding! I've tried several dishes and it is all delicious. Everything is homemade; soups, sauces, specials. If you are traveling thru the area, do yourself a favor and stop to dine in or takeout. If you live in the area, check out this gem if you haven't already! Tons of menu options, good prices, and excellent value! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable too!

Food was very disappointing. Seems over cooked and not fresh. Portion small and rice no flavor.

I do really like the food and the killer margarita is my favorite, but the service is awful. Every time I go in there the service is slower and slower. The last 2 times I couldn't get water even when I asked repeatedly.

Used to come here for good food. New ownership since. It was a slow afternoon and walked in. All of the tables were not clean, the floor was a mess. Looked like it might have been left that way from the night before. Food was priced higher and quality down. Very sad to give this place up.

Se me hace de muy mal gusto llamar para poner una orden, y que la persona que contesta cuando le dices buenos dias, te diga “que va a querer” despues cada que le dices algo diga “mmmhhmmm” y al final cuando terminas de ordenar y le dices muchas gracias te cuelgue sin decir nada. Ya van varias veces que pasa, lo menos que pueden hacer es saludar a sus clientes cuando llaman, y darles las gracias por consumir con ustedes.

Authentic Mexican Restaurant. The shaved beef in my Burrito melted in my mouth. Served with delicious house made Verde & red salsa. Service was friendly and fast.

They likely have good food. They were under staffed when I was there. It took forever for them to acknowledge I was there. They simply pointed to a seat rather than escort me. I did not get water or a menu for quite some time. I left. Everyone I saw was working hard. Therefore I say they care, but they are under staffed.

Good Mexican food. I wasn't a fan of their salsa. Too chunky for me. I'd go again if in the area.

We enjoyed our dinner here tonight. We came in with a group of eight, which can be a bit hectic. However, Angela did an excellent job. Everyone said their food was really good.

While traveling to play a festival in Iowa, one of the bands I play in (The Creswell Club) stopped and ate at Tecalitlan Restaurant. The food was amazing! There were plenty of vegetarian options and the food was fresh & delicious. Owner/waitress, Angelica was so warm and friendly. Great vibes and reasonable pricing! A+++ 4/5 stars all around!! Thank you!

This is my daughters favorite place for authentic Mexican dishes. It was my first time and the food was very hot and delish. There is a full bar and we had a private booth in the back. It's a family owned and operated restaurant. They seem to do a busy carry out business and many orders were picked up while we had lunch.

The carne asada was dry, the salsa was flavorless and the service was absolutely terrible

We love this restaurant! We come at least once a week and order various different menu items. Their Al pastor is amazing. The family that owns it is very kind and hard working.

This place has gone downhill since the other family that used to run things left. I ordered what they called the birria tacos and it was not what I was expecting. It didn’t come with the tortillas fried in the fat or any of the red juice you’re supposed to dip it in. It didn’t taste like anything. And the beans and rice also had no flavor at all. Paid $14 for trash.

Food was not very good. Salsa was very spicy and at least a week old. I ordered a steak meal, the steak was completely burned and chewy. The meat was grossly over salted. The rice and beans were flavorless and the rice looked as if it had been over cooked by about 2 days. Service was polite but not very attentive and seemed annoyed. Place was clean and well lit. Overall not a great experience and the food will not have me running back.

I'm glad this wasn't my first experience with Mexican food. Someone mentioned the portions were smaller. Heck I couldn't get down what they brought me. Sad part is I had to pay for it. Not sure what the problem is. Food was either blan or just hot. I guess the hot is to stun your taste buds so you can't taste how bland the rest of the food is.

Don't go, food no favor service was no service lunch no don't go must be new owners. Go at your risk not the same place. Food before drinks and no napkins beware!!

Food was amazing as always! Service was mediocre at best. It wasn't busy by any means and we got there sat down and immediately got handed menu and was asked what we wanted. We were unsure what we wanted for margaritas and the waitress kept rushing us and almost telling us what we wanted. Barely gave us min to look or think about what we wanted. Atmosphere was ok. They were playing music off of someone's phone and every time they got a text message it was ding, which was annoying!

Worst service. The waitress was rude from the start, continued to make rude comment about order etc. This place use to be friendly with great food. Definitely won't be going back, such a shame.

The food here is so good. The caldo de pescado is one of the best soups I've had in my life.

Great food! Management and staff always get it right, Oh and I can't forget the Killer Margarita's the best Margarita's around! That was the case until about 8-9 months ago the one lady who mostly ran the front retired, since then the service is poor its like they have something better to do or don't want to be there. Changing from 5 star to 3 at best

Not what it used to be. Only received 1 bowl of salsa and chips, never offered to replenish. No drinks until food was ordered. Food was good.

It's a shame that they don't deliver. Good traditional Mexican food is what you'll find here.

I don’t know where to start.. first time here. As we were entering the restaurant the kitchen door was open. My eyes couldn’t believe it of how disgusting it was, and I clearly over heard a cook saying, more fu$&en people as he kicked a pot. We proceeded to have a seat, we grabbed a high chair, as usual I always wipe it down before I sit my baby on there. The wipe was gross! It literally seemed as if I would have cleaned the floors . At this point I’m very disappointed, and disgusted. Waitress came by and she seemed bothered and annoyed because she was busy. My husband and kids order their meals, I decided to skip dinner just because nothing was going right. And top everything off, there was more than a few flys over our table! You might be wondering why we didn’t leave asap. We had drove 2 hours to meet my husband’s brother that was in town for a few hours and we really didn’t want to go anywhere else. I will be calling the health department to report the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Clean restaurant with nice outgoing staff. The table sauce was really good but the chips weren't as crispy as I like. Other people at the table really enjoyed their food. I decided to try something different and it wasn't to my liking but that's not their fault. The drinks are pricey and at the end of our meal we didn't actually get a ticket or receipt. We just went up and paid and were told what we owed. Not sure if this is the normal.

Queso solidified in 5 minutes, my taco salad was cold with congealed grease, they serve margaritas in a kiddy glass with a straw so small air can't even get thru 🙄 our waitress never checked on us, we had to flag her down and we were only the 2nd set of customers. Do not recommend

It was "okay" but honestly I've had better. The horchata was my favorite. But the guac tasted like they basically just thawed it from one of those frozen bags ya get at the store.
