Wonderful French bistro with great staff and French style food all in very pleasant dining room.

Love this restaurant and I would give it 5 stars all around except that they seem to refuse to serve you their burger for dinner. It’s a delicious burger but you can only get it at lunch - which is weird. Why take your award-winning, probably high-selling item off the menu? I don’t get it.

The food was so delicious. And the service was wonderful.

A commendable 4.2-star performance overall. The leg duck confit and burrata were exceptional, showcasing the kitchen’s strengths. However, the cheese plate fell short of expectations. While the cheese selection was admirable, the accompanying toasted bread lacked the refinement one would anticipate from a French establishment. The presentation of the cheese course could also benefit from a more elegant touch

Our first time here and it was phenomenal! Will definitely be back the next chance we get.

Deliciousness! We sat on the inner patio… easy to carryon a conversation-… onion soup was outstanding!

I was disappointed by everything. The restaurant is dark and it hasn’t been updated in years. My brunch meal was very mediocre. My Caesar salad was small for $10.50, the dressing was barely there, the croutons were teeny store bought kind, there were no Parmesan shavings (as the menu described), and I had to ask for the anchovies (that were listed in the ingredients on the menu). Worse, I received two skimpy anchovies. My Croque Madam sandwich was very disappointing—- barely any ham, small open-face portion and it tasted just ok. For a French restaurant the Croque Madam was 4.5 out of 10 and the accompanying frits were 5 out of 10. Overall, brunch was just ok. Not memorable, nor do I have any desire to go back.

We're habituees of Bistronomic! This last visit was a bad surprise: rude waiter, drinks waiter was very unexperienced, and...at reservation online we were asked if event was special, we said YES . We were asked which event it was, we wrote SON'S BIRTHDAY , still Bistronomic completely ignored it... what's the point, then? We will get back because we love the food, but service standard had a major drop

We hadn't been to Bistronomic for a long time and were delighted with our evening there. Both apps--homemade country pate and heirloom tomato salad, which had an unusual presentation--were both excellent. The Lake Superior Whitefish fish of the day was excellent; the duck breast was good, though a touch over-sauced. And the profiteroles were a nice way to cap the meal. The service was outstanding and very helpful. We definitely will add Bistronomic to our regular rota of Chicago restos.

Over a week of Paris Olympics had us seeking bistro food for our early Sunday dinner. Escargot was good, but the preparation was not the expected traditional butter,garlic and herbs. An heirloom tomato salad was spectacular. Coq au vin in a red wine/mushroom sauce was perfectly cooked and presented in a cast iron server. (5*) The all-French by the glass wine list is a carefully chosen limited offering. The menu is loaded with tempting food options, the 3 course prix fixe is a bargain.

The food was good, but the service not. Two of the dishes for brunch arrived much before the third, and we never received the side order of bacon one of our party ordered (although we paid for it. We discovered that fact only after we arrived home.) The bill came before we had a chance to order coffee; when we did, it was lukewarm. And the waiter messed up the bill the first time around.

This is one of the best meals we have ever had. Food was outstanding, service was amazing. The chef even checked in with us to see if we enjoyed our meal. We can’t wait to go back!

Bistronomic is currently my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Everything about it is how I would run it if it were my own. Hospitality, Value, Comfort, and Deliciousness - just fantastic. 5 stars or 3 macaroons depending on your rating system.

Always excellent. We go at least once a week because the service is always excellent, the food is always perfectly prepared and served beautifully. Delightful place to enjoy an incredible dinner! Also great outside options.

We experienced the special Indian and French wine paired dinner last night and it was wonderful! The two restaurants, Bistronomic and Vermilion, teamed up to create a fabulous evening with a creative mix of the two cuisines and appropriate cocktails and wines accented the food perfectly. We are so happy we went. Bistronomic is always a winner and so was last night!

As a regular diner at Bistronomic, I know I can count on delicious food and on-point service. That is why my wife and I took two out-of-town friends to dinner there. I selected the special dining experience (an Indian/French fusion prix fixe menu), while the others in my party ordered from the regular menu. Each of us enjoyed our meals, and Frank's service was impeccable. Kudos to the rest of the staff who were welcoming as always.

This restaurant was the highlight of my trip to Chicago. My friends and I picked this restaurant out at random, it was near our hotel and we were craving steak frites so Bistronomic was the perfect spot. We came in with zero expectations and ended up having the best evening! To start, we ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer. The wine was fantastic and the bread was delicious! We ordered another appetizer and notified the server of an allergy at the table and they took extreme care to ensure the food was safe to eat. The steak frites all came out perfectly and were all delicious. Throughout the entire night our glasses were full of wine and water and there was no point we needed to ask for anything. Everything we needed was taken care of before we could think of it. We ended up staying for dessert and an extra martini because we enjoyed our stay that much. It’s the coziest spot where the staff ensures you enjoy your experience to the fullest while leaving you be to spend time with your friends or family. I could not have had a better experience and will be back in Chicago just to visit Bistronomic again! À bientôt et merci!

The four of us -- family members with high standards and tummys that document experience eating out! -- enjoyed ourselves immensely at dinner last night. Choices ranged the gamut: seafood pasta, fish of the night, a huge pork chop, with starters to introduce this restaurants genuine French cuisine. The service was attentive, yet not hovering, just how it should be in a bistro. Confession. We are no longer unbiased. We've loved this place for years.

I had an amazing lunch experience for one. The onion soup is second to none, and the Le French burger is sublime. It was, perhaps, a bit too much food for one person for lunch but the food and the ambience can’t be argued. Definitely coming back, and thanks to the gentleman who waited on me — you’re awesome.

Safe to say nonetheless that the food was worth it. Although, reservation was for 630 and wasn’t seated for 45 minutes on a Tuesday. Is this a good thing ? Service was questionable as our waiter seemingly avoided our table. Very nice ambiance might consider in future for special occasion only.

Bistronomic is our go-to place for weekend brunch. On this occasion, my wife and I brought two of our grandchildren. We loved the way the staff welcomed and accommodated the two young diners. Our server, Mateo, was attentive and efficient. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience.

I have eaten here before which why I recommended it. We admittedly were all underwhelmed. We were hoping for traditional steak frites - the steak has gristle which left a portion uneaten and too thick. The other diners thought it was good, just not great. Appetizers were enjoyed as was the dessert. So good is all I can give it.

We truly appreciated the way the Bistronomic staff accommodated our two grandchildren (7 and 12). Our meals were delicious, and Sandra's service was top-notch.

A true French Bistro and 5 stars to: food, wait staff, and ambience!

The welcoming staff, excellent service and enticing menu brought us back to Bistronomic for a second time. We sat in the covered front porch area - very quiet - and enjoyed the seafood specials of the day. Nice to find a good restaurant where it is quiet enough to have a conversation with friends and not be rushed!

I've had Bistronomic on my list for a while and finally got to go last night. It was perfect! The $49, 3-course option was terrific. Wait staff had French backgrounds, which was delightful at a French restaurant. With the Olympics coming soon, I loved immersing myself in that food and language! Food was universally high quality and delicious. Ambiance was just a bit more upscale than you would find at a neighborhood bistro in Paris. Highly recommended.

Bistronomic is a great destination for authentic French food AND a favorite neighborhood spot. The menu changes often which makes return visits a special night out. The coq au vin is amazing; the chicken liver mouse pate amazing++. The wine program is excellent.

2024 Bastille Day Celebration @bistronomicfood. It's always a privilege and fun time dining at Bistronomic. It’s a fantastic place for a date night, friends or a family gathering. It's one of the best French restaurants in Chicago! The chef Martial and his wife Laurence are warm and very welcoming. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is spectacular, and for me, I find a little bit of home away from home here. Vraiment superbe.

Great big city mature feel. French staff is excellent. Gypsy Jazz was a bonus!

Bistronomic's Bastille Day celebration included Gypsy Jazz and drew a full house. I enjoyed the special appetizer, the Pate En Croute, and an excellent Rack of Lamb. The staff worked together to provide the restaurant's usual superior service. Thanks especially to Frank and Daria.

The food was very good. The service was a little indifferent. But Bistronomic gives Chicagoans an opportunity to experience culinary France in our own backyards. We really enjoyed it - and the Gypsy Jazz nights are a blast.

Disappointing… we had the duck liver pâté and foie gras and could not taste any foie gras in the pâté. We also had a steak frites with sauce on the side which came overcooked. They redid the steak with the sauce on top. The second piece of steak didn’t seem to be the same quality as it was nearly impossible to chew.

We had beet salad with goat cheese to start and mussels with frites for the main course, followed by a chocolate dessert. Everything was perfectly prepared.

Chef Martial has been one of my favorite chefs for some time. And indeed, this may be a second (third?) review that I have written for Bistronomic! The atmosphere is neighborly, promoted strongly by the Noquiers. Their often simple French cuisine is like its namesake, bistro, but with sophistication. The duck breast, the escargots, the mussels, the pate en croute, and gazpacho, were all delightful. Most important, how many restaurants remain where the executive chef wanders the floor throughout the evening to make sure that the diners are happy with their food; and even more, how many executive chefs come up to their customer and asks about his son? Chef Martial did for me - this is the community environment that he wants and seeks to capture! GO DINE AT BISTRONOMIC, you will not be disappointed.

I came for brunch last Sunday and had a great time. The hostess made an effort to pronounce my full name, which gave me a great first impression. She recommended that we enjoy the weather, so we decided to sit outside. The staff is very courteous, ensuring a delightful experience and great food. I indulged in their affordable and delicious bottomless mimosa. Excellent option for spending quality time with friends, celebrating special occasions, or enjoying a delightful brunch.

Great spot! We arrived prior to opening, but the gracious staff allowed us entry, and even sat us at our table and provided beverage service! Outstanding staff, and as per usual, delicious food! Raul our waiter was wonderful, and the hostess and all other staff were exceptional! Tres bien!

Bistronomic is my absolute favorite brunch spot in Chicago. The Smoked Salmon Club I enjoyed never fails to delight, and server Carlos kept the bottomless mimosas coming.

Had a reservation. We were given a choice of Seating. Chose porch area, very pleasant. Service was prompt, server was well informed And accommodating and attentive. I had the Whitefish, wonderful. Husband had Lamb shanks and was very happy. We split the Appetizer special, stuffed squash blossoms, amazing. Had the chocolate crème brûlée for dessert, loved it. Will go back and send friends. Felt it was a good value.

This is a classic French menu and delicious, not stuffy. We go there as often as we can to celebrate or just to revel in the menu choices, wines and great service.

My wife and I enjoyed a quiet brunch (with bottomless mimosas), as we often do. This occasion did not disappoint. I had one of my favorite dishes, the French Burger, which is tasty and filling. My wife chose the Wild Mushroom Omelette, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Sandra's effusive welcome as hostess and Daria's superior service added to the pleasure of our visit.

Food is fantastic here! We dined early on a Saturday evening and started by ordering an app, cheese trio and salad for a group of 3 followed by our main courses. Wine recommendations were all fantastic as well. Food was super fresh and portions were just right. Excellent ambiance, friendly staff and the chef makes the rounds checking in as well. An absolutely excellent dinner choice that rivals some of the cities Michelin-starred spots. We will be back for sure.

We went during lunch time, having a 2 course prefix of chicken liver mousse and leg of duck confit, and Croque Madame. Food are excellent and good value. The waitress is excellent of doing her job she is super busy but still make sure every table gets the right attention.

Bistronomic is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago, not least because of their excellent Saturday and Sunday brunch. During our recent visit, the food was tasty, and Daria's service was attentive and personal. I also tried one of bartender Sandra's innovative cocktails, the Blue Pride. Fantastic!

As usual, great food, great service. The owners are actively involved in the front of the house and the kitchen. Pleasantly quiet so you can talk with your guests at the table rather than having pounding music or too much ambient noise. The ambiance is upscale but casual. Never a bad time here.

It’s like dining in Paris. The beef bourguignon is life changing. The veal medallions made me a better man. The fromage course healed my soul.

We really enjoyed our visit to Bistronomic. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted in the most friendly way. We felt taken care of without it being over bearing. Our food was delicious and came out fast.

We started with a three cheese sample that was very good. We both had onion soup that was fantastic, I would bathe and gladly drown in that soup. We finished with Beef Bourguignon also great. The beef was very tasty and tender!

Our server was excellent - he suggested an amazing vegetarian option for us. We loved our meal.

Ordered off the "specials" menu and every course (soup, salad, entrees) was fabulous. Accompanying wine and service equally fabulous. And as someone with hearing aids, I truly appreciated the subtle jazz playing in the background rather than something loud that makes it hard to hear my spouse as we eat. Already planning to return for an anniversary dinner.
