Food, service, and a room to ourselves. Outstanding. 3rd yr in a row celebrating our wedding anniversary here Ellie and Dennis took exceptional care of us. They really made the evening outstanding!

Food was good, service was lacking. Brought out the wrong salad, drinks took 15 mins to arrive, brought us the wrong drinks, etc. overall I expected more, especially when they automatically add a 20% tip.

Easy 5-Stars, definitely worth the drive. This spot puts any restaurant in Vegas (and San Diego for that matter) to task with the best hospitality and food. Also, just sayin', they produced the best Gin gimlet I've ever had. It would have made my 107 year old grammy so happy.

It was disappointing with the food. They changed almost everything. Our baked potatoe was baked too long. The incredible salad is gone. It was my favorite restaurant but now it is not. Now it is too expensive for meal and the experience.

My wife and I have been coming here for years, and they never disappoint. Star our server is shining example of consistent perfection, she always makes us feel at home. Chris the manager is amazing he never forgets us and I watch him work the room to make sure all his guests are happy. I highly recommend Black n Blue the hidden gem in Valley Center.

Have gone there many times in the past and had a great experience. I took my best friend this last weekend for her birthday thinking it would be a similar experience to all of the rest. The AC was broken and the thermostat read 82 degrees...and this was before the sizzling hot plate of steak hit our table. We had no forewarning about this issue, had we gotten one, we would have chosen somewhere else for the night. We ordered the steak medium and it came out grey. It was more than well done. When letting the server know we would like to leave and to have the check sooner than later since the food was not good and it was unbearably hot, she just comped a side dish. Expensive for no good reason. Awful experience and awful staff response.

This restaurant is my favorite place. They have a higher quality service, great atmosphere and delicious food. Unfortunately the last timeI felt disappointed, my bill came automatically with a generous tips in other words They charged the tips. I am generously with tips. But, this act encourage me never back to the restaurant.

This review is about the new menu that was rolled out after the remodel. Also, this is my humble opinion and may not reflect what others think. Starting off with the bread, They got rid of cheese bread which was by far the best of them all. It was replaced by a flat crunchy bread that has little flavor. The only remaining bread item is the flakey biscuit-style bread. Next, they changed the wedge salad from thick bacon and blue cheese to pastrami and gorgonzola. IMO the pastrami overpowers all other flavors and the gorgonzola just doesn't do it for me. Lastly, the price has gone up from 45 to 69 over the last few years. I understand that everything is more expensive but I can go to Ruth Chris and pay $65 for the same dinner deal and not drive from the OC. That being said it's still a destination with the casino and food credit helps the sting of price increases. The Staff is still the best especially Jess, Orion, and Caesar in the lounge which is where I choose to dine each time instead of in the main dining room.

Love this place. Hard to say what is better, the food or the service. Both excellent. If you are an Ice Tea drinker or a coffee drinker, it is a must order. Even something as simple as these two drinks are taken to the next level.

Great overall steakhouse! I go once a month and have never been disappointed.

The $59 pre fixe menu was amazing. The wedge salad was ice cold, the filet was cooked a perfect medium rare with a great crust and the peanut butter souffle was worth the 20 minute wait. Iced tea is served with ice cubes made out of tea and is served with two small carafes of simple syrup and lemon juice. Don't skip the coffee service (included). I won't spoil the surprise.

The food was delicious!! Complimentary rolls and olives cheese and nuts were an extra plus to a lovely evening.

Went here for the first time last night. I can’t rave enough about how amazing the customer service was. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I would go there again for the service alone. Food was just as great. My mom and I each had the 3 course meal. It was fairly priced, and everything from the Gouda cheese snacks to the main course was *chefs kiss*. Mom had the filter mignon and I had the pork chop (pictured). It was a comfortable atmosphere, I would feel at ease dressing casually or dressed up for a nice night out. Already looking forward to going back. Thank you for the amazing experience!

We had an amazing meal here, far exceeding our expectations❣️I got the 3 course meal (to try more things at a great price), w/filet mignon w/baked potato. The selections for just the salads were almost all they offered, and included a drink (non-alcoholic). So glad I chose the coffee to have with my dessert...that was an extra treat in itself. Super top notch service, and very accommodating. We look forward to go back!!!

We eat here often and this last visit was not well received. Half of my girlfriend's lobster was so raw, she could not eat it. The tomahawk, prime rib, and flaky rolls are really good, though. Drink service was unusually slow this last visit despite the restaurant being only at 50% capacity, but the servers are super polite. Our check had an overcharge of $40 plus a 20% gratuity automatically added on for two people. We had the $40 corrected and would've tipped more than 25% anyways.

Been to Black & Blue 3 different times now, and every time it is spot on in every aspect. Cleanliness, food, atmosphere is great. What really stands out is the meticulous service. Our visits are usually 6 to 8 months apart, yet Mel (our waiter) remembers our names and genuinely cares about our complete satisfaction and experience. Hands down best service I have had from a restaurant. Black & Blue is Top Notch!

This my favorite restaurant in San Diego County. The food and service is top notch, and matches the best restaurants in San Diego for a lot less money. They automatically bring you a tray of olives, cheese and roasted almonds and a selection of bread rolls. They offer a prix fix 4 course meal, with choice of salad (the fig and burrata is the best) and four entrees, including salmon and Brant beef filet minion that is to die for. Finally a choice of delicious deserts (baked alaska, crème brûlée and hot chocolate soufflé, among others), and great coffee Affective March 1, 2023 it’s going up to $69. It’s so much food we split the whole thing and are still full. It’s the best bang for your buck, so you can lose them in the casino.

This was our first time coming here, and it was for my b-day. It was so delicious and the service was fantastic. Tim was our server and he was attentive and made great recommendations. The surf and turf was so good and I would highly recommend. You have to order a coffee!!

My wife and I call eating at the "Black And Blue" the finest dining experience we have ever had!!! We each had the $59 three course dinner. The "appetizer" of marinated olives, gouda, and marcona almonds was unexpected and delicious!! My wife and I ordered salad, but before it came out, we had our choice of 5 types of dinner rolls/breads and 3 different butters (including truffle butter!!). They were all YUMMY!! The salad was amazing, accompanied with avocado toast on filo!!! Absolutely ridiculous!! We saved most of the entrees to take home because we were almost full when they were brought out!! She had the 6 Oz Filet, and I had the giant 14 Oz pork chop. Both were cooked to perfection!! My wife had the incredible Baked Alaska, while I had the blackberry Cheesecake. I also had decaffeinated coffee, which was its own showcase of 4 or 5 additives of sugar stick, chocolate spoon, and others!! We asked to have the chef come out, so that we could thank him for the best meal we had ever had. He was remarkably young, late 30s? Our Waitress was fabulous as well, very knowledgeable. We had eaten at Ruth Chris in the past, but it cannot compare to the variety and creativity of the Black and Blue It was a complete surprise!!❤️

This steakhouse is great. Really really great. A very unique combination of steak and seafood a drink list that is extensive and is balanced. I can tell that whoever sat down to think of how to run and present this restaurant to guests truly did spend a great deal of time creating each and every menu. From the apps to the desserts all very different and presented to the table wonderfully. My party of three had the lobster tower, crab cake. My wife and I shared the Tomahawk steak for two which all were amazing. The steak was very flavorful and chared in a true black and blue/Pittsburgh fashion. Thank you. My only recommended item here is to the casino. We sat in a booth. The place as a whole needs more space. Booths are ones found in a coffee shop dinner not in a steakhouse such as this. I will be back soon. I will ask for a table instead. All in all a fabulous place for a meal. Worth the drive if you are not close, very memorable.

Great food! They have a 3 course dinner special that offers a delicious filet mignon. My only downside to the place is the smoke going through the casino and the restaurant tends to get pretty loud. It can be hard to hear conversations at the table. I would definitely suggest this place for GREAT food and SERVICE!!!

I don't mind spending alot of money on great food. But this place was extremely overpriced for what you got. And it took 3 hours to get bread (which was the best part) salad & entrée, & it wasn't even busy (we had a reservation too) Would never go back. Oh, they do have really good iced tea thou...

Wow, I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything from the taste to the presentation to the service was top notch. The Chilean seabass was done perfectly, steak cooked exactly right, and every bite was delicious! Easily the best restaraunt in Valley Center.

My husband and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary with a wonderful dinner here. Our experience did not start out on the right foot; HOWEVER, the entire team worked FAST to make up for the delay (the folks did not want to leave, so our table wasn't ready and our reservation got delayed, which, after experiencing the food, I can see why folks didn't want to leave.). First off: Chris, the manager, was unbelievably gracious and accommodating. He recognized we weren't super stoked on the table that finally became available, and ended up moving us to a booth. What's more, he was everywhere! From front of house, to bussing tables, to checking on each tables' experience: the guy did not stop! Mystique and Luciano were fantastic stewards and maintained our table meticulously. Mel, our server, was a delight; he was warm and friendly and got everything right, down to the delivery of my salad last (I wanted my main first and my salad to come out with my husband's entrée). He also left us be to enjoy the meal and our time together. Now..... THE FOOD... it is simply TO DIE FOR. Everything was exquisite! Seafood Opulence: *chef's kiss* and was as fresh as could be; the Porterhouse was melt-in-your-mouth amazing (highly recommend getting the mushroom and brussels sides); Lobster Tower was light and refreshing, really, a perfect starter; and the Risotto... oh my, that Risotto! So full of flavor and comfort and all the feelings you get from having a really fantastic risotto. I'd give this experience 10 stars if I could. Great job, B&B Team!

The food was decent, the service could've been better. They charged me a gratuity fee of 20% for 2 people. I didn't think this was ok. I would've left a 20% regardless.

Amazing dining experience. Wait staff was incredible, everyone is trained extremely well and they all know the menu and make recommendations. Server took our order, didn't write anything and repeated the entire order in reverse perfectly. We sat next to the cold dish and dessert prep areas and probably saw every dish on display.

I really enjoyed dinning at Black and Blue. The environment is a pleasant break from the slot music. The food is delicious. They have organic coffee, desserts, and a great menu. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious. We also had ribeye, jumbo shrimp, mashed potatoes, and sea bass. The service was great! Attentive hosts.

This place has the best 3 course dinner deal. The whole meal was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend for a date nights or when you just want enjoy some great food and drinks. The bartender made outstanding drinks

Definitely not worth the money. The waiter we had was a doll. But the chefs obviously don't know how to cook meat. I asked for a cowboy ribeye medium and it came out well done. When it was sent back, i asked for medium rare so it can be a bit faster, when the new steak came out and I cut through the middle to make sure it was the way I requested, it was RAW. Honestly, waiting for an hour an a half for a steak that was not worth the price, definitely will not be coming back. It was a legitimately a waste of $200 down the drain. You'd expect great quality but it was so disappointing. It got to the point where I was too full because I was eating so much bread and I lost my appetite, i just asked to take it to go. The third time it came out, it was still overdone. Chef's here are a joke, go back to culinary school, maybe then you can actually know how to cook such a simple dish. Save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse or Wood Ranch for HALF the price and GREAT quality.

Awesome had the filet mignon, and wife has the rack of lamb...great meal and service was soooooooooo much better than fiore that we will definitely be back to try the other offerings. Made special because they even had menus for wife's birthday laid out when we were seated

My wife and I went to dinner here, and we were absolutely amazed at this place! Wonderful service, always attentive to your table at any moment. We each got the cowboy ribeye and were blown away! The steak was bursting with flavor. My wife isn't even a big steak fan and was loving it! A must try restaurant at Valley view!

We went to Black & Blue for our 31st Wedding Anniversary and the FOOD was amazing. The steak melted in your mouth. The Ice Tea was a special treat. We will be going back for sure.

Warning to all patrons! When you sign up for loyalty program you are gifted a blue tooth set. When four of us received them, we had the guys bring them to parking garage to lock them up in the trunk of our vehicle so we wouldn't have to carry them around all night. Long story short our vehicle was broken into and all 4 Bluetooth sets along with our pricey prescription sunglasses, phone chargers and other items were stolen. Lots of shady people were lurking around in the parking garage. Be careful everyone!! PS in order to go to buffet, you eaxh need to be a blue card level which is at least $1500 in play points. Don't waste your time or safety here if you are not a local!!

I have had dinner here a few times,but nothing compares to the first! I could not say enough good things about it ! But like everything else it has never been as good as the 1st time! I will be going back . But have you noticed on here if you give a good review the management comments on what you said and says thank you! If you don't give a great review they just ignore it that tells you a lot about the restaurants management at valley view! Since day one my friends and I who have worked in the restaurant industry for years and some of our finner establishments would just laugh at how poorly managed from the snack shack to black and blue this place is ! And to think they have. A hotel with no food available unless you want some gross nachos at 6:30 am

Love it all the time, food is top quality, and the service is excellent, the taste of everything is the best, and the prices are the best, this place will rival any of those that are considered top of the line and will beat them in the price and quality. Going back again in mid March.

This is my second time here and it does not disappoint. Nice atmosphere. Fantastic staff. Food is over the top great. Cooked to perfection. Desserts are out of this world. Try the Tiramisu. Of course, I highly recommend this restaurant!

We love it there for our 25th wedding anniversary. ELLE AND EV, We're so WONDERFUL!! will be back. The food was amazing. The mexican roast coffee delicious. Oh and there cocktail prefect!!

The first time dining here and it was fantastic. Everything is an experience. From the butter and bread presentation to the coffee and dessert assortments. Everything was tasty and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very nice and knew everything about the menu. I highly recommend this steakhouse.

Outstanding service and fabulous food. Can't remember when I've tasted such tender and delicious steak. My surf and turf was star-studded with broiled shrimp scallop, an incredible lobster tail and king crab leg. My husband enjoyed the amazing Chilean sea bass that Black and Blue Steak House is noted for. A complimentary creme brulee was offered, tasted,.swooned over then wrapped up to take home.Attentive servers kept wine and water glasses full. Absolute perfection.except the air quality was overwhelmingly smoky. My eyes were watering and I felt as if You had oked a pack of cigarettes.

This is a five star dining experience with reasonable prices. I love to bring family and friends here for celebrations. They give special attention to all the details and the staff is fantastic. The food choices are numerous and the special 3 course dinner is delicious and remarkable for the price. This is my favorite dining steakhouse.

wait staff was very attentive did not have to ask for anything throughout the whole meal, silverware appeared out of nowhere. Seriously, didn't have a soup spoon in my original setting, upon ordering the soup and getting the soup looked down and BAM soup spoon was there .(came out of nowhere) . This was one fine dining experience and the food was amazing! 2 snaps and a twist for sure!!!!!!!

You have got to try the Tomahawk ribeye steak for two! Incredible! And order a cup of coffee! It's a desert in itself!

We had a wonderful experience here. The dinner specials for 49.99 filled us up. We had salads, salmon and souffles.The service was over the top good. We will be back. The lobster risotto was absolutely amazing. We spit it between 3 of us. Rich cheesy yummy risotto with lots of lobster pieces.

My husband and I love having dinner at Black and Blue. The food is delicious, the environment is welcoming and the customer service is superb. They start you off with your choice of bread accompanied with three different butters, absolutely delicious! We've had the Tomahawk for two in the past and it's a generous portion, the filet mignon is always cooked perfectly and the seafood is very tasty. We have celebrated our anniversaries here and have enjoyed weekend dinners as well, just because. We will continue to be patrons of this establishment.

Great ribeye! The morrow was a great addition. Also recommend the brussel sprouts. The prime rib was also spectacular! Well worth the price.

Hands down has always been the best value for the food quality you'll receive in entire San Diego, we've been going here for years. Love their ice tea, they even freeze cubes of iced tea so that your tea doesn't get watered down. It was quite crowded though... more crowded than its ever been pre-pandemic so the prices went up about $10 but that's still not bad considering what you'll receive. Please don't take kids here casinos are not kids friendly😅

Top rate steakhouse. Everything is good but they have a 3 course special for $50 that is a must try. It comes with starter entree and dessert. All the sweets are good but I have to give a shout out to the baked Alaska. It is enough for 4 ppl to share absolutely delish. If you are looking for an upscale romantic night that won't break the bank give Black and Blue a try!

It was.....good. I think for it being labeled a high end steakhouse and priced as if, the food could have been better. I had the Cowboy Ribeye rare, it was slightly over cooked, chard on the outside, and a bit salty. Wife had the Filet minion, she just complained that it tasted salty as will.

Just go you'll see and won't regret it either

The foods were great....host not so much and there’s a round booth next to the front with sunken padding that they can’t seem to fix, second time, had to ask for a different table even thou they knew. It’s a shame for such a nice restaurant.

This place has some amazing food... Got the filet mignon & my wife got the seafood pasta, and everything was absolutely perfect! Steak basically melts in your mouth, and the shrimp & scallops are huge and really tasty. Servers were extremely kind and generous, and the prices are worth it for what you get. The lighting inside and at the tables was darker than I would prefer, but other than it was a great experience.

We've been here several times and the Service and food has been excellent. But this time the Service wasn't good. Our Waiter forgot Our appetizer and We were served Our meals and We asked what happened to the appetizer? Well, He forgot it, but offered to give it to Us at no cost because it was his fault. Well, We have gotten the Oyster Rockefeller in the past and it was great, but not this time. The Oysters were so small and hardly any cheese or spinach and was a disappointment. Glad We didn't have to pay for it. I go for the Alaskan Crab and I love it! They are precut and thick and very tasty. The Filet Mignon was good, not great. We will return, but I hope this doesn't happen again or We won't be back. Prices are quite high and each additional side costs more than the main meal. For a dinner costing over $200 for 2 Adults, the Service and the food should be excellent.

Best Steakhouse in town. The seafood is also very good. Large scallops and shrimp. The farm to market salad changes each week and never disappoints. Great place for date night. Service is excellent.

This is the best meal I have had in a long time. Service was great and the selections of bread was amazing. I got the $45.00 full meal deal and it was an large amount of great food for the price. If you are at the casino and want a great meal stay and eat here at the casino.

My 3rd time here. Funny thing that I've been seated in the same booth everytime!! LOL!!! We made reservations earlier in the day. The service is great, food is great. I love Their Crab! Only thing I wasn't pleased with tonight was the Lobster Cocktail. It was so tough I didn't even finish it. Told Our Waitress and She said She would take the charge off the bill or We could order something else for Our appetizer. We choose to take the credit. And I believe that was very fair. I'd recommend this place to All. It's a bit more money but I feel it's worth it. Thanks for another momorable dinner B&B!
