Great food, and great service! The eggs Benedict is my favorite! Their biscuits and gravy, French toast, Waffles, literally any breakfast platter, are all delicious. This is our favorite breakfast place ❤️

Ate breakfast for lunch. Service was great. The food was very good. Prices were good. Will come back again. We want to try some of the other foods.

Awesome place to fly into for a meal. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. Food was ok... just ok. Sausage is pre-made patties. Gravy was edible but needs improvement. Would love to go back and try lunch or supper. Will definitely recommend something other than gravy the biscuits were good.

Go often. This time just not good. Uncooked cinnamon roll. Cottage cheese warm. Kids waffle grilled cheese hard. Very unfortunate.

Great food, enjoyed the planes, and the museum.

Sunday breakfast. Place was packed. Lots of people waiting in the lobby. Only took 15 minutes to get seated. The food was great. Priced competitively (welcome to 2024) Service was a little slow but hey! Its Sunday morning and this place is good, there's plenty going on outside to keep you entertained. The only thing bad about this place is its 2 1/2 hours from home or I'd be here frequently.

I have nothing good to say about the food, my wife had something floating in her water. But on top of those when we were being seated they asked if we wanted a high chair for our 2 little ones.. we said yes and then he proceeded to say they are not available or are broken… why ask then??? We then saw the table next to us with an open high chair our whole meal.. the only good part was the boys got to enjoy the planes and the waitress was friendly enough.

This place is the most inconsistent food establishment. Management has been quite rude in the past. Prices have gone through the roof. Is it not important to tell people they charge more for using a card? Seems like a bit of information a customer might want to know prior to ordering. It's always something at this place. If you are ordering a sandwich, don't expect a dill pickle. They only have butter pickles. Sick of this joint and won't be returning.

If you're in Columbus and looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot, this is a great spot! My kids love the pancakes and I love the Skyhawk breakfast. Fast and friendly service and good food!

Good place to have a meal and watch the planes take off.

Well...what do I say. The food is great but the service at the front desk is absolutely terrible. We called to let them know we had 10 coming, they said no problem we will make sure we plan for you. As soon as we got here, we got yelled at in front of everyone that they don't have space for us and we will just have to wait. I started to explain the phone conversation and she (the front desk lady and the register) started yelling again that it was too bad and it doesn't matter and that we need to just go sit down. This is the 3rd time the same person yelled at us in front of everyone. Last time she told us it would be 10-15 mins and then forgot about us, and we waited an hour. We come at least once a week. The food is good but the embarrassment and hassle is starting to not be worth it. The servers are great. If you could skip dealing with the, Red Haired Tyrant, you will be fine. Bs&Gs are awesome! It's unfortunate that a restaurant with good food treats their customers like this. It puts a bad taste in your mouth.if you are coming to the area Rhode's Family Diner is a better choice. Better service and good food.

Excellent food and very reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. Had the tenderloin sandwich and could only finish half! Meatloaf looks delicious and will be my next meal the next time I’m in town.

Well I forgot to take pictures but I will add some when I go back. We went for breakfast and it was great, I had the Chopper which is Layers include strips of country fried steak, mushrooms, and cheese Topped with sausage gravy Served with toast and a side of potatoes. The Staff was very friendly and prompt with the drinks and food.

My family’s go-to place for at least 20 years. You can watch planes come and go and enjoy scratch cooking. We were served little fried dough balls with cinnamon sugar today that were amazing—but I go there for one reason only, The Taildragger—their pork tenderloin. Crispy, fresh and ginormous. If you know, you know! This is a great version.

It's fun to go here for brunch on a Sunday especially when it's nice weather and the planes are coming in and out. They really need to hire more people to help. Food is okay. Mimosa flight NOT recommended for a Sunday brunch.

Always a great breakfast. They have many, many regular customers for a reason! I enjoy watching the planes land and take off. It reminds me of hanging out at the airport with my pilot father when I was a child.

Food was on par. Had a great meal with fast service. Will go again and I recommend. It was my first time eating here and I've lived here for 39 ỳears.

The chorizo biscuits and gravy was probably the best biscuits and gravy that I have ever had!!! Service was great as well. Thank you for lunch

An Excellent local busy location to get Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. Make sure to taste the new menu items. Smoke Salmon Avocado Toast. The new toppings for French Toast and Waffles is a great addition to the menu.

When here for a late breakfast food was good good selection service was good and prices were good. Nice view of the runway to see planes coming in

Service was awful, and the waitress was not friendly at all. The food looked good but was partially cool like it had sat for a while and hassbrown casserole tasted like it was microwaved... probably won't return. Not all it's hyped up to be.

Have been repeating customers here for years. This morning though was not pleasing at all. Less than a dozen customers this morning when we arrived. The service was awful, the food was not at all that good. Very disappointing, makes me think twice about coming back. We had to wait on ourselves basically constantly asking for drink refills, coffee refills, the food wasn't cooked to order, biscuit and gravy were lukewarm, hash brown casserole tasted like it was microwaved for 5 minutes (hot on the outside, cold on the inside), eggs were not cooked to order. I was never offered creamer for the coffee, asked 3 times before our waitress got any. She told us to steal it from another table if we saw it. Didn't even finish half our meals due to food and service. Just wanted to pay and leave. Went to another place to eat after leaving here to feel our bellies. Hopefully next time it's better like it normally is. Writing this review because they didn't seem to take my comments seriously when I was paying. Like I didn't matter. We eat here 2 times a week. But today makes me rethink. Service was just awful.

I just want to put it out there that almost every single time I have came here to eat I have been seated in the same corner every time. No the reason for my one star is that I came in with my in-laws on Sunday. Do you have my birthday breakfast And we were greeted with a very rude server that has tattoos on her arm that are really dark and she’s got blonde hair. She everything about her was rude her tone of voice the way she was frustrated because we didn’t know what we wanted when she thought we should’ve. She brought us coffee and spilled coffee all over my son and didn’t even apologize or try to help clean any of it up , then my mother-in-law found a hair in her food and she was rude about that very bad experience all over and it was my mother-in-law and father-in-law‘s first time ever eating there. They’ve already said they’ll never come back and I don’t know if I will either, if that’s the kind of service that I’m going to have, it’s not worth it .

Hearty breakfast choices, and good coffee. Food was only warm by the time it was served. Gonna go back for the meatloaf. Oh, and got a discount when I paid cash.

Great food and jovial atmosphere. They're very busy around lunch time, so you'll want to fly in just before or after peak lunch hour.

Love this place! We got out here to have a family breakfast at least every other week. The staff is very friendly and inviting, and the good is always amazing.

If you have not ate here do it. This place is not fancy just comfortable with plenty of interesting charm and everything we have eaten here has been delicious and gratifying. You got to try it. We love there and maybe you will get to see a plane or two land or take off.

Made the drive over from Abe Martin Lodge vs eating in Nashville and was pleasantly surprised! Food came our super quick and everything we ordered was soooo good. Their breakfast quiche was delicious and highly recommended. Why an airport in the middle of Indiana has such a great restaurant is beyond me 🙂

We stopped in for breakfast with the in-laws. There is a wide variety of breakfast items from the standard bacon and eggs to cinnamon rolls to biscuits and gravy. The food and service were great!

What a hidden gem if I’ve ever seen one! A great brunch restaurant inside a municipal airport. Did you ever say “let’s go to the airport for brunch”? If not, you should! The food is great, the staff is superb and the the ambience at the airport makes it even better with the planes moving around outside. I can highly recommend this place, try it out if you haven’t!

We have eaten here for years. Today it was absolutely disgusting. My burger was raw when I requested well done so it had to go back. Took about 30 minutes to get my food.Spouses food was dry and bland. The older couple sitting next to us had been waiting on their food for a very long time. Their server which was ours told them that they were working on. I felt so bad for them. All they got was breakfast. I doubt we will be back.

We really loved this place!! The potatoes were super soft and not super greasy like most places have it. The tomato jam on the smoked chicken bowl was amazing and the grits were wonderful as well and had a nice large texture.

The serving sizes are smaller than I expected; I should have ordered a second entree. It is very standard diner food, nothing special. However, Columbus has very few restaurants open on a Sunday morning, so it has that going for it.

My coworker and I gave this place a try after another coworker recommended it. My GPS found it perfectly, but I would have never known it was there had I not been told about it. Located inside the little airport, it has no signs outside or inside. The only way we knew we were in the right spot was due to the diner scent that led us to its door that had a small name decal on it. We arrived around noon on a Thursday and this place was PACKED!! What a view!!! So cool how you can see all the planes coming and going! Parking was really easy, too, since it’s at the airport. We waited just a minute to be seated and the waitress greeted us promptly. Really the fastest service ever regardless of them being so busy. My coworker got the tenderloin and I opted for the breakfast all day option and got The Tomahawk. The chorizo was some of the best best I’ve ever had which was quite a surprise coming from a Columbus IN airport. I saw like 5 things on the menu I wanted to try so we’ll definitely be back. Plus the pics from everyone else look so good and the coffee smelled heavenly! ☕️

I was hesitant to eat at an airport but it was really good. People were friendly and quick. Food was good but could have used a little larger portion. Price was good. You are on the runway so you can watch planes while you eat. I'd definitely go back.

Best place to grab a bite to eat. My personal favorite is the chopper.....the gravy oh my.

I love eating breakfast. I go places just to eat breakfast and by far this was THE BEST I have ever had. The hashbrown casserole was the best I have ever had! Watching the big Jet and small planes was the highlight of my breakfast. We will be back!

Blackerby's Hanger 5 is a local gem in Columbus, IN. Enjoy dining while small aircraft come and go. The planes make great entertainment for all ages. Food is tasty diner fair. Serving breakfast and lunch (open until 2pm, no dinner hours) there is a good variety of food choices. Staff is friendly and pulls together in team fashion during staffing challenges. Restrooms are above average in cleanliness. Doors to the facility have touchless handicap sensors and germ free.

Where's the bacon? For a blt- there should be more than 3 pieces. This is a tomato and avocado sandwich with bacon as a side. But if it had an actual serving of bacon- it would be great Everything is fresh and delicious.

For the second time while looking for a good place to eat. The search has brought us to a local restaurant that is next to our in a local small airport. This time it happened to be blackerby's hangar 5. It seems like mostly locals in the know come here plus any pilot leaving or arriving stops by to have food since it did have a bit of wait. Once we were seating service was quick and friendly. My fiance and I read the menus and quick ordered we both had the chopper breakfast which was a country fried steak over potatoes, with eggs and gravy plus toast your choice of bread. Mine also came with mushrooms. Food came out super quick after order that it caught by surprise. Piping hot we ate our food while looking out at the view of the airport. We could watch smalls plane land and take off. It was a really awesome experience. We would definitely visit again while visiting Columbus IN.

Been out there a couple of times with the kids they love to see the planes but overall the food is just okay it does come in large portion so you can take some home.

Popular airport restaurant, great view of the airplanes, very popular fly to place, and popular local restaurant. Their food is good, portions have gotten smaller, but filling. When I'm in town I always stop here at least once, sometimes on a multi day trip I'm go here everyday sometimes both breakfast and lunch.

Very unique place. The food was great, but there is not a lot of room at the booths but if you can face out, it is fun to watch the planes land as you eat.

Flew in memorial Day. Had a great breakfast. Line boy directed me in and placed a rug down as I got out of my little Taylorcraft. With that kind of service, I went ahead and purchased 8 gallon of fuel. That filled it up. Great stop for any reason. Have a great breakfast or lunch at the restaurant on the field. Bob Snider

Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of what I ate but it was all delicious. I had fluffy pancakes The size of the plate along with two eggs prepared just as I expected and bacon. Their sweet tea is really good as well. Others in our group had the meatloaf which he said was excellent and was a generous portion, and chicken fried steak which was prepared just the right way with gravy on top. Also had mac & cheese which was tasty but it could’ve been a little cheesier. Certainly worth a stop to experience the food and enjoy watching the planes as a taxi in and fly out. Large windows overlook the tarmac so it’s easy to see all of the planes. Very relaxing with great service, and the prices were very reasonable.

Super nice place, great atmosphere and very clean. Service was my favorite of the whole experience. We had the Big Wing Burgers, well made and flavorful. We were going to go to a fast food, but had time to spare. Really glad we chose Blackerby's, recommend if in the area!

Super busy breakfast crowd, but the staff was really well organized. It's a local hot spot, not just for pilots... Although if your flying in, they have a good pilots lounge. Try the Combo with 1/2 order of French toast. It's yummy.
