Decent brunch place! They have good selection of brunch!

We had a nice dinner out on the terrace overlooking the river. All the staff from the person who took our reservations to the waitstaff were very pleasant. The food was good and the brussel sprouts were fantastic. We split a bbq dinner for 2 amongst 3 of us and still had food to bring home. The prices were higher than I would expect and I would suggest having reservations. We were there when they opened and it was full very quickly.

This place was ok. A bit expensive. And definitely american taste (cheese overload). Guess i really need to cook to satisfy my dietary needs.

We arrived late and sat at the bar. Not a lot of tables but that was fine. I ordered the turkey ,mash potatoes and Mac n cheese. My son ordered the pulled pork. Both were very good and plenty of leftovers.

Great vinegar based BBQ, top 2 or 3 on the east coast, not just great BBQ for Vermont, great BBQ period! Loved the sides as well, charred broccoli was amazing, the greens were delicious, and awesome Cabot Mac n cheese.

What an amazing find!!! We stopped in for dinner during our vacation and loved Bluebird! Beautiful building, wonderful decor, friendly staff and the BEST BBQ!! We loved that they even offer a vegan choice for the non meat eaters! What our table got: The meat eater: Brisket plate - the meat was cooked perfectly & flavored Great! Generous portion! Charred broccoli- fresh & cooked perfect! Mac n cheese- cheese was super dense, cheesy & delicious! The Vegan : Seitan /mushrooms- delicious!!!! I have had lots of seitan dishes but this was perfect! Flavored amazing with the BBQ sauce, grilled onions & fresh oyster mushrooms! Vegan baked beans- was excited to find their beans are meat free! Super delicious with maple & generous serving! Most of the BBQ places we have dined in always skimps on portions but this place gives TONS! We each had plenty of left overs after eating. Bluebird is a high end, high quality, local sourced BBQ place you do not want to miss out on! You can really tell the quality, taste & care that goes into the food here!

Bluebird is an utter delight. My friends and I met up for Sunday brunch. It is located in the Portage Park neighbourhood. The menu is succinct but has a wide variety of options from fried chicken and waffles to loco moco to a breakfast burrito. I was deciding between the chicken & waffles and the breakfast burrito but settled on the waffles in the end. The chicken thighs and the maple butter sold me on the idea. We ordered the challah French toast to share as a group. I also ordered a pomegranate mimosa to pair with my meal. I was extremely pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere of Bluebird and would definitely plan to come back.

Went here for the first time last week and really enjoyed it! All of the food was excellent and service was great. I was there for my birthday and they gave us a free slice of the best chocolate cake. I will definitely be back.

Just ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and duck fat fries from here. The shrimp had NO flavor. All I could taste was the breading it was fried in. MESSAGE TO THE COOKS AT BLUEBIRD: Please season the shrimp before you fry it! Then it will have flavor! The Po Boy tastes like some greasy sandwich you would get at a restaurant in a mall food court. The slaw in the po boy was sweet, which was unlike any po boy I've had before. I did not like the sweetness of the slaw with the taste of shrimp together. The duck fat fries are WAY to greasy for me. I will not order from here again.

Went for dinner with my wife and baby and had an excellent experience. Intimate indoor dining with a full bar and a beautiful gazebo for outdoor dining. A hidden gem. Our server Connor was very attentive and provided fantastic service. I ordered the Steak Frittes and my wife had the Bacon Jam Burger. We also enjoyed some appetizers and cocktails. All of the food was prepared by Chef Nick who cooked everything to perfection. The steak was delicious and tender, cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mushroom puree was an excellent addition to the dish. I had to take a bite of my wife's burger and it blew me away. The caramelized onions and Bacon Jam really took it to another level. I will definitely be back and couldn't recommend this place more. Cocktails were also amazing, really enjoyed the Oaxacan and my wife loved the margaritas.

Food is great. Corn beef hash was so very good, like surprisingly. The sputhwesteen salad was nice+ The ordering process however is not streamlined. You can order on your phone and eventually the food comes to you, maybe. OR ask for a menu and get the human touch--recommend that. If you order from your phone and your stuff doesn't come there is no one checking in on any table. So you have to go inside and ask what happened. I enjoy talking with humans and interacting. Not digging the pick on your phone ordering. At least have a server come by a couple times to be sure your guests are good.

What a great place. Friendly welcome and service, lively atmosphere, wide choices of food and drink. We had the sharer for 2 featuring 3 meats chosen from 6 and 4 sides chosen from 6. The beef brisket was divine, with everything else coming a very close second. Who knew broccoli could be so moreish, chargrilled with lemon? If we did not live 3000 miles away we would return regularly

My husband and I went to the Bluebird BBQ on Sun Oct 1st. We had the BBQ for 2. For the meats we picked the brisket which was quite fatty, the ribs which were good and the chicken which was good. For our side dishes we picked the Braised Greens which were ok, the Cole Slaw which was loaded with too much mayo, the Mac and Cheese was ok, and the Smashed potatoes were terrible, it was smashed potatoes in a soupy/greasy mixture. The potatoes were absolutely horrible!!! Do NOT get those potatoes!! The service was very good, our waitress was really nice and efficient. My husband loved everything, I didn't, and it made me sick the next day. I don't recommend it, and if I were in the Burlington area again, I doubt I would go back.

Four stars because of many items in the main menu are not available. Order cheese steak and baguette bread still frozen needs to switch to different bread and I don't like margaritas here. Too sweet for my liking. Everything else here is very tasty. Cheese steak itself, which was very tasty. We're loved chicken wings. Small and robust flavor. Elote is very mellow taste, and grill asparagus are different. The drinks menu is full of different cocktails. Good fast services. Definitely come back for drinks and light snacks.

Delicious! We shared the sampler for 2 and they are not shy on portions - we had enough for leftovers the next day. Any restaurant that adds charred broccoli as a side option has my vote. We were visiting from out of town and didn’t realize we had picked college move in weekend so they were slammed and we didn’t have reservations, but kindly accommodated us at the bar.

Lovely polite genuine service. Excellent food. Great Bloody Mary! We were happy to eat inside but they have a very attractive outside area which is enclosed in the back of the restaurant. I would be back anytime I'm in that neighborhood I might even make a point of it. It's a small storefront so make sure you're looking

We had excellent service from top to bottom with patience and well worded explanations to any question we asked.

We like having cute sit-down spots in the neighborhood, but this place needs to figure out who they are. The food was good and it was pretty cute, but you order via a QR code like you’re at burger joint or brewery, but then there are servers kinda hanging around/running food? My advice for any brand is to know yourself and what you want to be. Is this place a cafe or a nice, casual restaurant? Also: - They were out of multiple menu items - They brought an adult-sized lemonade in a glass for my two year-old, much to her delight 😆 (here’s where having actual servers taking orders could help) - The duck fat fries didn’t taste like duck fat fries

We really enjoyed their burgers! Their signature Bluebird chicken burger is beyond delicious so juicy and tasty! My spouse had the Truffle burger which was also tasty.

I have seen some of the reviews of bad experiences and found my recent experience could not be more different. My wife and I went for a date and had a wonderful time on their hidden back patio. It felt cozy and secluded from the alley etc. Our server was great and the bar manager's reccomendations were excellent. I got the Pajaro Verde, which was great and not too spicy and my wife got the Kodachrome Greens, which she loved. The rotating drink menu was also excellent. My wife loved the classic and the Brazilian margarita. I liked every drink I had ( cant remember the first one but the second was lavender menace) and on the reccomendation of the bar manager got a rum espresso martini which turned out to be amazing. It was my first time trying one with rum and if I go back I would definitly get another. This truly is a neighborhood gem. Literally my only criticism is that the duck fat fries were a little soggy and could have been left cooking a little more to give them more crunch. We will be back.

i thought this was a cute little place, they are indoor but also have a patio in the back. as far as the food goes i ordered a few items; the broccolini was not spicy but very well seasoned. the mediterranean salad was good but wish the onions weren’t chopped. also the pesto sandwich was also delicious ngl i thought the mozzarella was freshly made. overall good vibes 👍🏽

A nice and quaint neighborhood restaurant on Central with plenty of street parking on nearby streets. Menus are available via the QR code on the placard at each table, or you can order direct from the staff. You can order and pay online via an app or , again, do so directly. The beer was very good with my wife taking a craft pilsner and myself an American IPA. My wife had a large dish of fish and chips, and I had a beefsteak sandwich. Both were good. The waiters were clearly in a happy place and seemed to enjoy doing their jobs. The restaurant was clean. The establishment was not crowded, so there was no pressure to hurry up, eat, and leave. Plenty of time to relax. As such 4-stars. The "only" minor feedback is that after ordering via the app, we had to tell the staff that the order was placed. I'm not sure how they are notified an order has been made. Again, a minor point.

10/10 would definitely recommend. Blue bird was becoming my favorite restaurant due to the excellent tasting burgers. But when I ate there in their patio & I was able to pay & handle the tab from my phone it got solidified as my favorite.

I’ve only gotten delivery so far from here but the food is consistently delicious.

5 stars for everything. We were so surprised by how good the food was. It's gourmet meets patio bar. Perfectly crispy chicken sandwiches, buttery pretzel bread, creamy, smokey Gouda, duck fat fries, smooth refreshing drinks and a great spot to catch up with a neighbor.

Order the cheesesteak sandwich, it was less than impressive. It was less a cheese steak and more cheese sauce and bread sandwich. This was a complete miss by Bluebird. The only reason that I could give 2 stars was the tater tots which I ordered as a side. Service was ok, but I can not imagine returning to eat here again.

Really good drinks and great food. Stop by and enjoy the outdoor seating.

Tuesday night pub quiz Is fire.

Chicken sandwiches here are good but the fries are the star. Drinks are affordable so it makes the place great for meeting friends or a starting point in portage park. If anything comes with pretzel buns, swap em for brioche instead, much better in my opinion.

Had their smoked cheddar risotto w/ pork belly tonight (might have been a special) and it was out of this world good. An elegant take on comfort mac and cheese. I love this place. It’s a staple for elevated good comfort food in the portage area.

This place is tiny! People are fantastic and food is superb! I only had takeout order but I'm guessing this place is doing it right!

Happened to catch a trivia night (Tuesdays!) and was an absolute blast. food was amazing, staff was nice and wasn't too loud. For a random night out it was a great lil surprise.

At this original restaurant, the food, the decor, the ambiance and the service (thank you Emma!, and also all the other very nice members of the collective-service-staff who took good care of us) are very, very good. Excellent. Go for the "Family Reunion" item on the menu. It is quite an experience... This huge, diversified, fantastic share-meal is enough for 6 adults, with large appetites. You can take the rest - if any ! - with you, in the convenient boxes they provide, to your home or hotel suite. Two days later, I am still licking my fingers... YUM!

I really enjoyed the Habanero Parmesan Burger! So good! My one daughter loved her Cheeseburger and the fries were just right. My other daughter loved the Chicken Pesto sandwich. I'd definitely go back there again.

The food was GOOD. We had food left over. It was even better the next day.

So glad this place is in the neighborhood. As a first timer, I was initially thrown off by the online ordering system, but it was somewhat preferable. Someone still came by to pour water and take verbal orders, if needed. Our drinks and food came out about 5 mins after ordering; everything tasted great and was reasonably priced. We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the string lights. The overhead music came on around 830pm, which totally elevated the experience. Thanks, Bluebird, for coming to Portage Park! Your lavender menace cocktail was delish! Can't wait to come back for brunch.

Wow. We had pesto chicken sandwich and southwest salad, and it was just so fresh and flavorful, and clearly made with care. We ordered for carry-out but this place looks cozy and fun with a cool drink list. We'll dine in next time. At the moment the block it's on is closed to they traffic, but we just drove past the signs.

The food is excellent. Ask for a paper menu if you don't like the online ordering. They will accommodate.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Cute cozy atmosphere and you can order with a QR code at your table. I had the California Chicken on a pita and it was ginormous and delicious! Sides are a La Carte so tried the elotes. My husband had the Cheesteak and onion rings, which were amazing.

We decided to stop in and were blown away by the burgers! We will definitely be coming back.

Walking in, the restaurant was packed. We had a 45 minute wait but it was definitely worth it. We would definitely recommend making a reservation. The host knew we had tickets to a show later that evening, so he made sure to tell our server we were in a hurry. This meant a lot to us and we greatly appreciated him helping us eat and leave on time. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the pulled pork and the brussels sprouts. They were excellent! Overall, this was the best meal we had in Vermont.

Wonderful experience! The service was so incredibly friendly and fast. We dined in on a whim for dinner; got some alcoholic drinks that were absolutely delicious, as well as some chicken sandwiches, fries and sweet potato tots (fries and tots were piping hot, for those wondering!). Food was so so so tasty! Will definitely make this a regular spot!

Went here to Bluebird in Portage Park on Central Ave about a week ago for a Birthday celebration. Had Meat Tortellini with Alfredo and Pork Belly. Delicious! Fudge Cake with Berry compote. Definitely a great new neighborhood spot.

Bluebird is the best! Went with a group of 9 friends for brunch - and we had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, drinks were great, and their ordering/payment system is ideal --- you scan a QR code, order through your browser, and then pay for only your items. Gone are the days of splitting a bill 9 ways (brutal!) --- this was SO convenient for a group our size! Even with the digital interface for ordering/paying - we still received excellent care and service from the staff. Will definitely be back!

Ordered before for delivery on an app and we liked it so much we had to come in person. Cute little place, I loved the framed Chicago attraction photos on the wall. The burgers were delicious. I also ordered the Practical Magic cocktail and loved it.

Ordered eggs benedict; they forgot the potatoes and then the hollandaise sauce so they had to come back twice. When I finally ate, it wasn't anything special. The pork bully was almost all fat and the sauce was tasteless. My group enjoyed their brunch. Is go back but won't get the eggs benedict.

My husband and I, along with our best friends, were looking forward to eating here based on all the reviews. Now, keep in mind, when I say "our best friends," that is another couple. So there were four of us. We each ordered our non-alcoholic drink (2 teas and 2 Arnold Palmers). The two guys wanted to try the pineapple soda, which we knew would be extra and no refills. The drink was delicious. Little did we know, we were being charged for every single refill on our "regular" drinks. Our drink total alone was $58!!!! It was quite shocking when we were given our bill. The only thing that kept us from making a scene was the absolutely wonderful meal. The 15 hour brisket was the best - very tasty, juicy, and tender. The sauces are excellent. It would be nice for patrons to know Bluebird isn't as generous as everyone else when it comes to refilling relatively inexpensive drinks. It definitely took away from the experience.

I really wanted to love this place but there was too much wrong to warrant a positive review. Starting off with the good things, the cheese steak I had was EXCELLENT. Absolutely delicious. Came out hot and fresh and I couldn’t be happier. The mac and cheese was also pretty solid. I would get it again and felt it was very competitively priced, albeit a little cold. Now for the bad… the tortellini pasta was awful, and it’s sad to say that because I know it could be delicious, but it had SO MUCH SALT. It had to have been a mistake, like did the salt cap fall off the shaker as they were pouring it on? All the other flavors were right but man the salt was comically bad. Sad because I know this is would have been a great dish without it. As others have also mentioned the fries came out cold.. very cold. Shame because they offer all these cool sauces as sides they’re just not as exciting with cold fries. Probably wouldn’t come back but if they made some slight changes to how they ran the kitchen this could be an awesome restaurant. Appreciate the response from the owner. Edited my review I was wrong about the ice.

Been here twice now. Once for dinner, and now brunch. Each time the food, and staff were both great.

I had high expectations of this restaurant. Some parts were good, some parts were disappointing. The drinks we had (that weren’t pictured) were refreshing and tasty. I had the spicy pineapple margarita and it had the tajim rim which was the perfect amount of spice and sweet for this drink. For food, he got a cheesesteak which was delicious, warm and savory with the meat and cheese. Not too soggy either. Then we got a side of Mac n cheese, the cheese sauce was also flavorful with the smoky cheese and goopy sauce that covered all of the noodles in the perfect amount. Here’s where it starts to unfold. The fries were ordered were cold. The bottom of the portion was a little warmer than the top. My pasta. The pasta I ordered was the tortellini, and it was flavorful, with salt. Every bite was eating salt. The waitress had hyped up the portion & the dish, so I was excited. But when I started eating the dish it was just salt after salt bite. I do think the tortellini would’ve been amazing, if there wasn’t so much salt in the dish. I would love to try this place again, but I’m skeptical to try again because of this experience. Their other food looked good! Maybe try other food instead of the tortellini..

The ribs are fabulous but the sides are just so so. The bar is limited the tables are closer together than one would hope during covid.

Finally made it in, and can't wait to make it back. Bluebird is a much needed addition to the NW side. The food, cocktails, service, and patio vibes were all on point.

My husband and I rarely go out, especially without our offspring and when we do, tend to hit up old favorites in other neighborhoods. Wonderful addition to THIS neighborhood. Amazing food! Steak Frites cooked to perfection and the best fries I have ever had... crispy, still with that pop even after they cooled off. How is this possible??! Waiter and other staff were friendly, easy going...helped each other out. Definitely will be back, and a new go-to take-out spot. Highly recommend!

My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came on a pretzel bun; and, I had the Cobb salad. We shared a side of the elotes corn. Everything was delicious! The chicken breast was juicy with flavors that popped. The salad was a generous portion and fresh. We both enjoyed the elotes but the flavors would have been elevated if the corn was fresh roasted and cut off the Cobb. They have a paperless QR digital menu; and, you can order/pay for everything from your phone. If asked, they also have paper menus available. There is patio seating in the back which we will have to try next time. Overall, delicious and we will be back!

Great space, loved the onion rings and truffle fries. The chicken is delicious, although the breading for the chicken was a bit salty last night. Hope it was a fluke on the recipe. All fresh, beautifully cooked. Lots of potential.

Took my mom here for her Birthday, definitely coming back! You will not be disappointed! The food is fantastic! I’ve lived in Portage Park all my life, definitely loved having something new like this to enjoy and go to!

I’d been dying to try this place since they opened. We’d needed exciting new places to eat in the area. The place is cozy and we liked the atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and gave us some very good recommendations. They have a paper menu and a scannable one and they give you a choice of how you would prefer to order. You can give your order to the wait staff or order and pay through the scannable option. My hubs got the Truffle burger because who doesn’t love truffles? And I got the cheese steak and a side of regular fries. My husband was a little underwhelmed by his choice. He ordered the burger MR and it came out well done. The flavor was amazing but he thought it was dry due to being over cooked. My cheese steak was the absolute BEST that we have ever had. The bread was great as well. We both loved it, would get it again and we highly recommend it. The fries were cold although if they were hot they would have been really good. We will come back and try their chicken sandwiches which my son said are the best he’s ever had. It’s a new place in our area and it has so much going for it. We feel like it will improve with time. After all, the flavors are spot on and it may have just been an off day. They also share tips with the kitchen staff which is a nice touch. Over all, we enjoyed it and will be back!

Service was really lacking here. We were greeted and given waters quickly, but then it was quite a while before our waitress came back for our order. Food and drinks came out pretty quickly afterwards. Drinks were amazing 5/5 for those and the burger, but chicken sandwich could've been better (very fatty). Then I actually had to get up to go order another drink at the bar since the waitress was, again, M.I.A. Drinks were amazing, food was pretty good and we want to come back, but service definitely needs improving.
