I understand this is a small chain, so one may think authenticity may be somewhat compromised, however, I enjoyed one of the finest meals here recently with some friends. The service is fantastic as well. Unsure why this place isn't booming.

The atmosphere was exactly what you want in an Indian restaurant! The food is excellent! Very tasty and flavorful. The service was great. Especially the servers were AMAZING who take care of their customers. If you’re looking for some delicious Indian food in Fairfax, this is the place to go.

Our first time with family meeting a friend. It was great. Good food and very nice service.

The food here is amazing. So many good flavors and a variety of spice levels. The service is impeccable. Ask for Narayan. He is very friendly, can make great suggestions and treats you like family. We really enjoyed his personality and service.

The restaurant's setting and atmosphere were excellent. However, our experience today was disappointing. We arrived at 2:30 PM and agreed to the buffet after checking the menu. It was only after we sat down that we learned the buffet closed at 3 PM, and staff insisted on closing even earlier at 2:45 PM. We had to rush through our meal, finishing in just 15 minutes despite paying $25 per person. It was frustrating; they should have informed us of the closing time when we arrived.

Good place for Indian Food lovers

This place has a fantastic Chef, atmosphere seems to have improved, but still doesn’t feel like the upgrades are fully finished , service is good but not yet great, at times they don’t always know the nuances of customization requested.

They serve the same menu at lunch and’s dinner. They have lots of outdoor dining. They have a buffet at lunchtime on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The service was really good, and the food… MY OH MY, it was delicious.🙂‍↕️

Everything is great. Happy that they started lunch buffet again. Price is a bit more but every Indian restaurant has been price gouging since the inflation.

There are so many things to be said for this place. The food is absolutely amazing! The flavors are incredible and everything was made to perfection. Portion sizes were far for generous than we expected. Drinks were fabulous as well. Service was excellent. I can't wait to go back. My only regret was that we did not save room for dessert. Next time!

Awesome food, hands down winner of Indian buffet! My very picky son loves it and asked to return, which says a lot about the food!

Atmosphere and food was decent. The service was poor. The waitress had an attitude when we did not order a cocktail (medical issue). All the wait staff had scowls on their face when servicing us. When we left they disinfected the seats and floor (we didn’t make a mess). It definitely felt like discrimination against East Asian customers. No other customers were treated the same as us. Not sure if there are East Asian customers that posted reviews. Definitely feels the other reviews may be jaded.

I had the buffet today. Can't say I was overwhelmed. The butter chicken was good but the tandoori chicken was dry. I will say that the service was good and friendly and the place looks nice.

Excellent restaurants don't need lengthy good reviews. Just five stars and a concise description. Then, you have to go try it yourself. Service: agile, courteous, hot Naan and icy water always refilled. Decor: cozy, modern, and reflective of Bollywood sense. Cleanliness: Table cloths, utensils, floors, plates, everything is clean and emasculate. Food: cooked to perfection, an excellent variety of meats and vegetarian dishes. Management: The manager must be the (co)owner of the place because he's always there instructing waiters and paying attention to every detail. I once heard him telling the waiter "if the chair is a bit shaky, don't ever seat the customer on it". Price: I've always gone there for Lunch buffet only. Absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food. I keep taking more and more friends to this place because it's the best Indian buffet I've ever tried in Northern Virginia. Just go and see for yourself!

Decent food. Great ambience! Super soft naan!!

I usually don't write reviews on Google. But, Bollywood Bistro is by far the best Indian restaurant in the northern Virginia area. The food is amazing, basically the same taste as food in India. The service is amazing and the ambience is very nice. You need to try their Malai Kofta, it is simply perfect. The prices are so affordable as well. I order 3 starters, 2 mango lassi, 2 curries, garlic naan, and 2 desserts, and the total was only $100. Best place if you are looking for high quality Indian food.

Super excellent, place is amazing Great food. Great presentation, especially on the dessert Excellent service, it was empty, so it was a training day for new staff. However, I felt the service was very good. I was I impressed with the senior staff's training of new staff and the service in general was first-class. Got the lamb rogan josh, assorted pakora, goat masala, bread basket, and dessert. All excellent. It was so good, I want to go back and try everything.

Food and service are amazing. Highly highly recommend. I always end up tipping 40% because of how great the service is throughout. Lunch buffet is back = great price and options if you work in/around city of Fairfax. It’s my favorite spot downtown.

Bollywood Bistro is one of the best all-around dining experiences in Fairfax. The atmosphere, service, quality, taste, value...everything is exemplary. TBH, Indian cuisine is not my first choice. But dining here is so enjoyable and the food so good that we dine here at least once a month (there is a lot of top quality competition in this area). Do not skip the Bombay Shrimp appetizer. I love the Mojito cocktail. For entree, go with what you like or try something new. Highly recommended!

I ordered with Uber eats. I ordered one mild and one medium they made no notation which was which and both seems to be mild. I also ordered three orders of garlic nan for $15. I got 3 pieces of garlic nan. $15 for three pieces of bread?!? I'm surprised I didn't get one piece of rice.

Bollywood Bistro Assistant Manager Saves Dog's Life. My dog got overheated on the patio. I had some water for him, but their quick thinking Assistant Manager, Narayan immediately went and refilled my gallon jug. He saved my dog's life. We have to support restaurants like this where the waitstaff/management is completely keyed in on the customers and everyone at their table. Because of his quick response, the day did not end tragically for my precious senior dog. I had the salmon. It was phenomenal. Thank you Bollywood Bistro! I'll be a lifetime customer.

We ordered catering from Bollywood Bistro for my brother’s wedding. The food was excellent. Ready on time. Very reliable communication with catering manager Kartik Sharma. Was reasonably priced too! Highly recommend for catering or dine in.

Best Indian food I've had anywhere!

From the very professional and attentive service to the delicious food, our experience at Bollywood Bistro was very satisfying. Our server Sushin made some very good suggestions in the palak Mango chaat and the kulfi with Mango Chocolate syrup...glad we tried them. Both are very well prepared and we enjoyed them. The Paneer Tikka and Dal Makhani were excellent and hit the right spot! We had come in wanting to eat good dal roti and were not disappointed. The portion sizes on the entrees are very good, too. We came back home with plenty of leftovers ! We shall definitely be back to try some more of their unique dishes !

I’ve been coming here for the past year and have brought many folks with me (I think the staff knows who I am just from reading this comment haha!) and I felt the need to leave this review/message. Of course the food is amazing. The atmosphere is comfortable. Location is great. The most important and satisfying thing, however is their customer service. The staff works so hard and do their complete best to attend to everyone and ensure they are happy. Sometimes they get so busy and may get understaffed, but they always do everything they can. From the 20 or so times I have been here so far, they have been amazing and the hospitality is second to none. They are genuine and accommodating. I hope they continue this business and service for years to come.

The food here was delicious. We have tried aam palak chat which is very unique and a should try dish! The service and ambiance is decent. Overall felt like have been to a good Indian restaurant with very good food after so long!

This restaurant’s food is ultimately delicious! Every dish was beautifully dished and was as pleasant on the eye as it was delectable on the palate! The service was top notch and the decor was grand. I would highly suggest this restaurant to anyone for any occasion- and they also accommodate children of any size!

Our visit to Bollywood Bistro was exceptional! Every staff member was so kind and attentive, the ambiance was relaxing, the place was clean, they cleaned in between courses!!, packaged our food for us, and the food itself was amazing!! Food was good as I expected it 😋. Customer service was unpleasant. They seem so miserable and were rude. Every 2 minutes different person comes and ask same question. It started getting annoying. They speak and take orders with such an annoyance, they made us feel unwelcomed

Bollywood Bistro catered our wedding for ~210 people and did an excellent job. Easy to work with for menu, planning, bar setup, etc. Highly recommend for both a dinner at their restaurant or for their catering options.

While the quality of the food is somehow not bad, but the lady on the cashier usually tries to charge the customers more than what they have to pay. That happened (with me and my friends), then they apologized and promised to return the difference within couple days. Now, I'm still waiting for 2 months to get my money back. Means, the honesty is ZERO in this restaurant.

Visited hear as a date with my wife as she loves their shrimp appetizer. They got a good collection of drinks in the bar. Very impressed with Narayana’s service so welcoming and attentive for his customers. We had a small disappointment with chicken entry that was ordered and he fixed it with multiple options. Finally happy Wife so happy me 😄

I have visited this restaurant twice now. Once was in the late-afternoon and the second was in the evening. I enjoyed the ambiance, decor, lighting, and, of course, the food and alcoholic beverages are good. Their prices are also very reasonable.

This place is amazing. Went here once for a work lunch and I couldn’t stop thinking about the food. Introduced it to three other people and they all loved it. My fiancé and I are regular patrons now. The food is amazing, the portions are LARGE (we always take leftovers home), and the service is top notch. They are very attentive and offer/provide things we need before we even ask. I have nothing bad to say about this place and I hope they stay open forever. Only thing to note though if youve been to many other Indian restaurants, the thing that is different is that naan is not included with any of the dishes. But the naan you pay for is amazing!!

I have been twice and enjoyed my dining experience both times. I have only sat outside, so I can't comment on the interior dining, but the outdoor seating is nice, especially with cooler weather at night. The service was quick and we felt well attended to. The food was yummy and just what I needed to end the day. If you like it spicy, be sure to ask for it as I found it was on the mild side but still flavorful.

Was kind of disappointed. Picture shows over $50 worth of food, but both were small and the butter chicken only had like 6 or 7 small peices of chicken. Lamb was tender and generally flavor was decent but overall considering the main dishes were over $20 each, I kind of expected to at least be full after finishing everything.

They're always great and fast, and the food is SO GOOD. We love the butter chicken and lamb Rogan Josh, but we've literally never had a bad dish here. The spicy fried cauliflower is incredible.

We catered from bollywood bistro for our wedding. We appreciate the service although the biriyani during dinner time was rotten/stale and almost every guest complaint about it. We are really unhappy about the fact that no one has checked the food before sending it out to be catered at someone's very special occasion. I'm very disheartened about the stale biriyani served on our wedding. We appreciate the gujarati food served during lunch time & the guest found it very delicious.

My family enjoyed our meal at Bollywood Bistro. Yellow Crab Curry was the highlight of our dinner. It was full of flavor and had lots of crab meats. Aam Palak Chaat, Malabari chicken and Paneer dish in tomato sauce were all delicious and attentively prepared. They came out with rice but no naan so I am recommending that you order naan breads for the best experience. We wanted mango kulfi but they didn't have it frozen, instead they offered pistachio Kulfi and they were delicious almost like ganache. I had mango lassi as my dessert and again, it was delicious refreshing and so creamy. I want to try the jumbo prawns and chicken Biryani next time!

Authentic Indian food. The service is excellent. The vegetarian dishes are wonderful. The appetizers are varied. The bread basket is a value.

Good taste and quality is very good

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. I had the crab in yellow curry and my daughter had the paneer kadai. Delicious! We shared the mango kulfi but they should have softened it, cut it up, or given us a knife (still delicious), but all in all I felt that was just an oversight so they still deserved 5 stars.

I have been a customer and going to Bollywood bistro for almost 10+ years. And hands down, I can tell that it is hard to find a better Indian food in entire DMV area. The ambience, food quality, food preparation, and overall atmosphere gives you the Indian vibes and true Indian/Desi food tasting. They do catering and I don’t know how many times we have catered food from them. We weren’t disappointed even once, and Kartik and his team always surpasses our expectations. If anyone is looking for true authentic Indian food, look nowhere else and visit Bollywood Bistro. Thanks for giving us a taste of india here.

The food and service were really good. But of a fine dining experience under budget. I tried the lamb biryani and bengali macchi, and both were really fragrant and tasty. The only complaint is that the bengali macchi wasn't even close to bengali food lol

We've had takeout from Bollywood bistro and now got to experience their dine in. For takeout we got their goat biryani which was delicious with tender pieces and a good amount of spice. Today we ordered the Kerala fish fry for a starter, mango lassi, chicken kadai, goat masala, garlic naan, and mango kulfi for dessert. Fish fry wasn't bad and a good start to our meal. The mango lassi was amazing and so refreshing, I do wish it was a little colder, it came closer to room temperature. The chicken kadai and goat masala were really good, the portions are big enough that there will be leftovers to take home too. Each curry had a lot of pieces and good flavor. The garlic naan was good too, we ordered one for 2 people which we felt was enough. To finish our meal we got the mango kulfi. The kulfi itself was so good, but the sauce that's at the bottom is ok. We couldn't figure out the flavor but it was very tart. Overall it was a great experience. Good service with people coming to fill our waters and clear our plates, good food and we got lucky with weather and got to eat outside.

The food was amazing. The lady was extremely rude, I gave her 15% tip from my total but she pulled me to the side and was demanding me for more “we don’t get paid a salary, and depend on tip”. I would just love if the owner paid them more. Just ruined the whole vibe…

I ate here for the first time recently with my mom. We went for lunch on a week day and were very impressed by the service and food! I can’t remember the name of the appetizer we ordered, but it had a yogurt drizzle and pomegranates I believe and was amazing. My mom and I also shared the crab curry which was PHENOMENAL. The service was top-notch too. They were kind, attentive, and fast. I will definitely be going back!

LOVE this place! The food is great, the staff is great, ambiance is great. Everything what we ordered were so delicious 😋 I liked their welcoming atmosphere. Staff were polite and working hard to make guests happy. The Naan (bread) was great. If you dine-in, you can get multiple small portions of the entree to try out different menu options, which is what we did.

Generally very picky about Indian restaurants so this was overall a good experience. Tried the pakoras and shrimp appetizers both of which were good. For the main course the tandoori chicken , biryani and goat masala were also quite good. I would say good food overall. Service was very attentive and fast. The ambience is also nice and modern.

Unfortunately this place refused to offer services to a family with a service dog (which is against the law) even when we offered to eat outside away from other diners.

We celebrated my nieces birthday here and Narayan (our server) made us feel like we are in a specially organized party and he was the perfect event organizer ☺️. Food was delicious and he helped us pick the dishes and even made sure the items were delivered exactly how you would expect them to arrive in a planned Indian dinner. Food was as good as Rasika’s , service was better and we felt more at home!! Thank you!! We came back a second time just as a couple, again excellent experience, delicious food , Narayan recommended lamb shank and garlic naan and pudina paratha. Delicious bread and shank was just so so good. This dish was so fairly priced and so well prepared, would have been paid about double in Rasika (sorry about the comparison, as before this trip almost everytime we visited Indian restaurant we went there). Overall a very satisfying dining experience

Great service .. attentive but not intrusive. Excellent food with generous portions

A truly great experience. The restaurant is large and open with plenty of seating. The staff was excellent, very helpful with suggestions and explanations of the menu. They have a full bar and are able to make most drinks. We had 4 adults in our party, started with Bombay shrimp and kebab for two. The shrimp were on the small side, but perfect for sharing and delicious. The kebab had assorted meats, all were equally delicious. For dinner we ordered the bread basket (a must)... Shrimp biryani, yellow curry crab and chicken marabali. These 3 dishes were perfect for sharing and we had leftovers. It is great you can adjust the spicy level to your taste. The flavors were excellent and the spice level was spot on. We will be back again and again!!

Loved the food, enjoyed the ambiance!! Super fresh ingredients. Fresh ginger and fenugreek sprigs to add to the already fantastic dishes make this a little place worth the visit. If you are looking for a contemporary Indian restaurant, give this one a go.

The restaurant is clean and well appointed. The service was great. I liked the way they served the water in a jar-like bottle and kept it filled. We ordered the lunch sampler. All good except I was sorry I didn’t choose another meat instead of lamb. The lamb was actually lamb hamburger. Next time I’ll choose chicken or vegetarian.

My boyfriend had brought home a little bit of leftovers from his work lunch, and was SO adamant that we go here that same weekend. Typically he does not like Middle Eastern cuisine so I was really excited because if he liked it i know i will love it. and i did! Their chicken tiki masala was SO good. We also got the platter, and I am not fond of lamb, because, its lamb, but the plattered lamb was so delicious. Garlic naan is really good as well. I was very pleased. They give you large portions of the entrees so there is leftovers to take home. 10- out of 10. loved it.

We Went to the restaurant for lunch on Saturday. Ordered the following appetizers 1. Aloo Chat Papri It’s good, however tamarind is less. 2. Karla fish fry It’s very good, deep fried , crispy, with right amount of Indian spicy. 3. Gobi Manchurian It’s very good, deep fried , crispy and soggy with right amount of Indian spicy. Entrees 1. Goat Masala It’s ok, goat tastes like lamb as it was chewvy. Spice level is good. 2. Chicken tikka masala It’s good as it’s a typical dish. 3. Tandoori chicken It’s good , felt that it’s marinated less time as the masala is not penetrated well. Breads 1. Tandoor roti - looked like naan 2. Garlic naan - it’s very good 3. Butter Naan - it’s good Overall, food is very good. Service is very good. Ambience is very good. Must try place for North Indian food.

My vote for the best Indian place in Fairfax

I didn't think it would come to pass, but this place deserves full honors -- all the stars I can give. I only had one dish -- Goat Masala -- based on the waiter's recommendation; it was truly beyond words. Parking -- I'll talk about this, it was a pain point for me as I'm not local to Fairfax (though I've been many times before). I missed the turn for parking while driving on the main road, and spent close to half-hour trying to backtrack and get to the same turn -- rush-hour traffic didn't help. Long story short, there's free parking in the garage behind this place. If you're ever driving on the main road, and you see any sign that screams "free parking here" -- just don't freeze up and miss that turn; I'll leave it at that. How I ended up coming here -- bit of a funny story, but I'll bite. I was visiting a nearby event, the long drive and traffic was exhausting, and I also hadn't eaten lunch (I guess linner?). After parking, I headed to the Auld Shebeen -- a nearby Irish pub with gracious reviews. Well luck would have it, I came around 6pm, right at the time they were closing up shop. I accosted a greeter, he suggested the Bollywood Bistro as a favorite of theirs. Didn't have high hopes going in, but I was rather hungry and decided to check it out. Walked in, requested dine-in for one person, got a small table near the entrance rather quickly. Waiter -- who was also my greeter -- was nice. He took my order, gave splendid suggestions, and checked in on me afterwards. The ambiance was very good. Laid back, in a dim lit area. The overhead lights are not bright at all. Gives off a more casual, down to earth kinda vibe. I decided I liked it after all. What I had -- going off suggestion for non-vegetarian dishes, I had the Goat Masala, with Garlic Naan for bread. It comes with white rice for free, with green peas dotting the rice. The Masala has to be hands-down the best goat dish I have ever tasted. I honestly think it is one of *the* best Indian dishes I have ever eaten; and I eat homemade Indian food quite often, and have been to my fair share of Indian buffets -- so I know what good food is. The Goat Masala was, for lack of better terms, simply sublime. The spices and aroma, juiciness of underlying meat, the presentation of leaves and ginger, all of it was top-notch. The dish as a whole was flavorful and perfectly executed. I would have it every day if I could -- in an ideal world. The Garlic Naan is a staple bread in any Indian cuisine, and it went hand in hand with this dish. Rich and flavorful, and elevated the taste of the goat curry. Once I was done with the Naan, I switched over to the white rice, and mixed it with curry. There was an abundance of it, and even though I was liberal in its spooning, it was inevitably a too-large portion. I finished maybe two-thirds. I was full, near to overflowing, by the end. Overall, the Goat Masala was in a word, exceptional. Food was really good and filling. Silverware and napkin provided, and glassware well-designed. The ambiance was quiet and light-hearted. Service was good, and people were generous. Only minus point I had was the bill -- definitely on the more high-end side; but well worth it. Highly recommend checking out this spot. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in the area.
