Good service and delicious food. The dessert offerings are tasty too. Wine by the glass section seemed a bit small but what they did have was good. Will definitely return when back in town.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience at The Bottega. This was our first experience and it was truly divine. As soon as we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by the beautiful hostess and she seated us. Next, our waiter came to the table and introduced himself and explained the menu very amazingly. We received two starters and two entrees. Lastly, I asked one of our other waiters what was his favorite dessert he stated the Peach Sorbet and so we chose that for our dessert and it was delicious! We ate the entire dessert and on the dessert plate it had “Happy Birthday” for my husband :) He was excited lol. Finally, as we were leaving everyone was so polite and told us bye and have a great evening and was telling my husband happy birthday :) 10/10 and will be back !

Lovely restaurant, one of the nicest in the city. We started with the Focaccia with Bottega olive oil. Very light bread with just a touch of sea salt on the top. Then the Snows Bend Sauteed Escarole. This was a warm plate of caramelized greens, with garlic, salt, and a dried chile de arbol on top. Delicious twist on a pre-dinner salad. Then a cocktail, The Highland Park. This reminded me of my favorite way to make an Old Fashioned using Rye, Amaro, and Vermouth, along with a Bada Bing Cherry to garnish. Next, the classic Parmesan Souffle that they have been making here for the past 40 years. It did not disappoint. Then the Filet with bearnaise. The sweet potatoes, herbs, and smoked Broccoli were delicious as well. Then the Bait and Switch cocktail, this was a good way to use pineapple - put it in a spicy margarita. Next, the Lancaster Golden Chicken Risotto, which has delectable Morel Mushrooms, and some Fava Beans, which were a fun touch. Really well made dish as well. We finished the night with the Dark Chocolate Semifreddo, which comes sitting atop a Chocolate Sable (French Butter Cookie), then has crisp chocolate pearls, and candied salted hazelnuts on top. We almost cried when we ate that dessert. All in all, it was a lovely night. Highly recommended.

We started off with the bread service and it was so good. The Parmesan soufflé was next and I could have eaten 2 more of them, it was simply amazing. I got a fish dish and my wife got a risotto and they were both so delicious. We also got their famous “Orange Thing” and the “Bail and Switch” and they’re such a refreshing treat!

We decided to stop by on a whim last Saturday evening, fully expecting not to get a table without reservations. To our amazement, we were seated outside in just 25 minutes! The ambiance was beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were equally impressive. Our waiter was incredibly professional and helpful, patiently answering all our questions about the menu. I can't wait to come back and enjoy another meal here. Highly recommended!!

Highly overrated restaurant. I asked for a recommendation of a dry red bottle. Received something super sweet. Waiter was ultra attentive though. The atmosphere was reduced for me because I reserved a table for 4 at the main dining room on lower level. The hostess pushed us to go upstairs, when tables were clearly available. Didn't want to argue with the guests we invited there present. So, we just did it. We were a younger bipoc crew, and she was just disrespectful. Ordered pasta of various sorts, and all were done very well. pork dish was a bit over cooked, but flavorful. Miss the desserts from the Highlands restaurant, but these were craftfully done traditional Italian tiramisu

This is probably(?) the most upscale Italian restaurant in Birmingham. I ordered shrimp risotto as an appetizer, and for mains I ordered basic pasta and New York strip steak. As you can see, the risotto has a small amount of rice and is very salty, but not to the point of being inedible. The pasta and steak were really delicious. I cooked the steak medium and it was just perfect. Although the quantity was a little small, the quality was acceptable. Oh, that's right, the other customers were dressed up in dresses or suits, but I was the only one dressed casually, which was a bit embarrassing. Please refer to this before your visit.

I don't go as much as this place merits, I guess because it's a tough table to get sometimes. At any rate, this is a typical Stitt restaurant. Pricey but worth it. I can't imagine how they manage to find and develop such superb staff. There isn't a bad choice on the menu, and it doesn't have to be an expensive tab although it certainly can be. If you need a home run meal for a special time, or just need reassurance that the world isn't completely off the rails, make a reservation.

We ate at Bottega dining room a couple of weeks ago and I’m still dreaming about it. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wine, and seem to genuinely care that guests enjoy their experience. At our table, we tried the Parmesan grits, the steak, a roasted chicken dish and fish coated in marcona almonds. All were superb. A bottle of wine we ordered turned out to be corked and our waitress swapped it out promptly and with a smile. I truly believe that was the best meal we've had in Birmingham. thank you Pardis and Frank for all you do!

Check on parking options, they do have valet parking. Although beside a busy road they have an excellent outdoor sitting area. Well stocked bar, the ambiance is great -high ceiling with acoustical tiles, huge windows - well done. The bar knows what they're doing The drinks were excellent. The service team appear to be well trained and knowledgeable, kudos to the management.

Tonight I took my sister here for dinner, on every occasion dining in this fine establishment the food and service has been impeccable. We arrived at 5 when the place was not busy at all. One star was given to atmosphere simply because Franks son was on hand and ventured to every table to check on satisfaction or offer water along with the waiters. I observed him for 2 hours and in that time he never checked our table which I found odd and quite distasteful, being we were the only seated brown patrons there it stung. Our waitress Carly was a gem just an absolute professional. She made our visit wonderful despite the noticeable difference made by the younger Stitt. Do better please.

DONT BOTHER GOING! Tried making a lunch reservation but turns out they only do walk-ins. We were asked to wait for 1+ hour or come back later because seemingly there was no table available when we could see multiple empty tables. The way the hostess looked at us was extremely demeaning and then we were shockingly turned away because of what..our ethnicity?! The discriminatory treatment we encountered left us super disappointed and and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!

The valet company is terrible. Don’t recommend you hand your keys over to them unless you want your car wrecked, stolen, or parked illegally… They regularly park cars in illegal ‘no parking’ spaces. They also do not take responsibility when this creates safety risks. For example, one of their cars was parked illegally, which blocked visibility when I was driving and resulted in my car accident. When I called them, someone named Felix said “I don’t know why you’re calling us” and refused to do anything to remedy or address the situation. Felix was also very rude. Additionally, I have seen them leave the key box open and unattended on multiple occasions. Once, I saw a random person who was walking through the downtown area start going inside the valet cars, which must have been unlocked. Who knows what else they were doing. Disgraceful.

My hunnie treated me to an amazing night out at Bottega for Valentine's Day. I was ecstatic since Bottega has been on my places to try for sometime now. When we walked in the door it was as of the staff had rolled out the red carpet, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. I went with a French 75 and my hunnie had an Old Fashion. Both of our drinks were delicious. We made our way to our table which was upstairs and was greeted by our server Savannah who was amazing. They had a prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day that offered 3 courses. I went with the Baked Oysters that were delicious, the Cioppino which is a seafood stew that was pretty good and the Bottega Sundae. My hunnie went with the Sunchoke soup that he loved, Veal tenderloin was so good, I ate a few bites of his tenderloin and wished I had of chose that instead. We both opted for the Bottega Sunday for our dessert which was really rich and decadent. All in all we had an amazing time and a wonderful Valentine's Day. Can't wait to visit again!

We hadn't been to Bottega since before pandemic, but were super excited to revisit - and we were NOT disappointed. The experience was top shelf, across the board. First off, the service is simply exceptional. I'm kicking myself, because I can't recall the servers name (she was young with reddish hair), but despite having multiple tables, she kept her eyes on us at all times, without being overbearing or intrusive. For example, at one point she began to walk toward us to (I presume) take our order; but then when she noticed my wife was still reading the menu, she literally pivoted and went in a different direction - just to give us time and space to process. Whenever a water glass even approached half full, it was refilled. And when our dining companion's drink arrived in a glass that was a bit sticky from simple syrup, she saw him wiping his fingers and immediately replaced the drink. A++ from start to finish. And the FOOD! Oh my goodness. We've been doing a "tour" of sorts, of various Birmingham restaurants over the past two years, and Bottega (along with Chez Fonfon) stand alone at the top. We revisited all of our favorites that still are on the menu (e.g., Parmesan souffle; crispy potato cakes), and also explored some newcomers (braised beef cheek). As I've mentioned before in other of my reviews, the mark of a truly exceptional restaurant is if you take that very first bite, and are so overwhelmed with the pleasure and deliciousness that you inadvertently groan - and then immediately turn to your dining mates and say, "You HAVE to try this!!!" Well, that was pretty much the story of the night, as we collectively shared each other's dishes, again and again. I had the risotto with lobster and shrimp, and it was piping hot and perfectly cooked. Not surprisingly, the desserts were all phenomenal as well (the apple cake is a particular standout). So yeah, after all this time, Bottega continues to stand alone at the top o' the heap, in terms of Birmingham fine dining - at least in OUR experience. And it bears noting that, in comparison to commensurate meals we've had around the globe at other city restaurants, the bang/buck ratio is high. Each of us had an appetizer, entre, and dessert, plus drinks, for under $100 (each). That puts the pricing on par with other highly-rated B'ham restaurants - but the food is BETTER, which makes it the bang/buck winner of the area. WELL DONE, Bottega - and to the server whose name I unforgivably can't remember, THANK YOU for making our evening so memorable! :-)

Came with very high expectations based on recommendations and they delivered at a high level! The staff was very kind and super helpful with some unique asks from some in our group. The food was delicious, timely, and met what the expectations were! The missing star is for a disappointing beverage selection. For a business lunch setting, the lack of anything other than alcohol, water, or tea (or bottled Mexican cola!) is lackluster. Definitely a place to visit again! The pizza was phenomenal.

We were traveling through Birmingham and stopped here for a birthday meal. We ate at the Cafe because we wanted something more casual without reservations. We got in right away but found out later that was only because we were there during the Iron Bowl (Alabama vs Auburn). Sure enough, once the game was over, people poured in. The artisan pizza was delicious, as was the risotto with scallops. The Bottega sundae and vanilla gelato were divine! And the Satsuma Sunset cocktail was terrific. Service was also top notch. Highly recommend!

Only heard great things about one of Birminghams finest restaurant staples, and boy did it live up to expectations. We ran through the menu on a Thursday night, with the app Bibb lettuce salad as the standout dish followed by the bone in brined pork chop. The coconut cake, for those not in the know is “the” dessert, was as expected - fabulous. If you can’t get a table at Highlands then you can’t go wrong with Bottega.

We dined here on a Wednesday around 5pm and were able to get seated right away. I loved the venue and the ambiance was lively and upbeat. I had a ‘new friend’ cocktail and it was excellent- not sweet, which is exactly how I like it. My entree was fish of the day and it, too was excellent- well plated and had an excellent synergy of flavors and textures. The only thing I didn’t care for was the wilted escarole and spinach. I felt it was a bit sad-looking, boring, uninspired, etc. However, the bottega bar we had for dessert was eccellente!

My husband had been wanting to take me to Bottega for a while and one night he surprised me! We had a great time. The service was impeccable and since we went I have been wanting to go back! Immediately upon viewing the menu I would have thought the restaurant must have changed hands. The dining experience in April was nothing like this past weekend. A very well maintained building from the outside, and clean all the way to the bathroom. Nice decor and smooth atmosphere. James the bartender was very friendly knowledgeable and engaging. The menu is inviting and the bar selection is well put together with wines, spirits and beer that complement their dishes. This is a great place for a casual upscale lunch or a very special celebratory occasion.

Visiting with friends that came in from CA and GA, we decided to make this our 1st stop to have dinner and relax. Getting seating at the cafe side that you do not need reservations for was pretty fast for a Saturday evening. The service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. My only complaint was the fan blowing on us. It was a tad aggressive, haha 😅. We will absolutely make a point to come here again!

I can find no faults with this establishment. Accordingly, I'm rating them with five stars. The staff is patient and highly professional. The space is very clean and pleasant. The food is (we had) is spectacular (lamb and rabbit dishes), with the exception of the choice of using a caper vinaigrette on the broccoli... (perhaps lemon and olive oil would pair better?). The deserts are inspired, especially the tiramisù. Note: One side is a Cafe (great for lunch). The other a formal dining room. I liked it so much we ate at both.

Situated on Highland Ave, Bottega reminded me why I love Birmingham. I love Bottega for the vibe. It always had a warm and welcoming atmosphere while serving the best focaccia and small dishes. Made countless valuable acquaintance sitting in there making conversation with random diners across our numerous visits. However, one thing always stood out to me and it struck harder tonight: most of their waiters and waitresses are stuck up middle/high-class family members who picked up a job just to have something to do and they treat some customers like it’s the guests’ honor to be served by them. Tonight, a lady served me and my girlfriend for our first date night in town after my 2 months of constant traveling. She gave us the worst side eyes and attitude, no refills that we asked for, kept urging us to finish our Orange Thing drinks when we like going at our own pace, and visited us once for every 3-4 times she visited other tables around us. She did the bare minimum and treated us like kids in high school. I tipped little as you can see how frustrating this type of service can be when we were trying to be nice. Then she chases my date out the door as I went to get my car from valet, demands that she gets a reason for why she was tipped so horribly, and didn’t even apologize when she was given the reasons. Sit at the bar if you visit or try their dining room instead of the cafe. Their food is good if you get the right thing - but if you’re actually looking for good food and you’re not from a suburban middle-high class family that seasons their food with only salt and pepper, look for other high end restaurants like Habitat Feed & Social or Cafe Dupont.

From the moment we stepped inside, everyone was extremely professional and spot on. The duck and triggerfish entrees were perfection!!! The Cullman fresh strawberry galette and affogato were divine desserts. Armani was our wait staff and exceptional. Perfect spot for an anniversary. My husband proposed here 29 years ago!

Shrimp and crawfish risotto was amazing! The Crawfish was better than any lobster I've had. Highly recommend this place. Awesome vibe and the bartender, Chris, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food menu 🤌🏽

The food was amazing. I started with the oxtail crostini. My friend had the agnolotti with crawfish stuffing. For our main course, she had the Halibut with crawfish (they ran out of lump crab) with a side of crispy potatoes and I had the lamb porterhouse chops with a side of spinach with pine nuts. I highly recommend the spinach, it was amazing. The entire meal was delicious. 9 out of 10, would recommend.

I just ate this restaurant on 2/2/23 between 11:45am-12:47pm. Literally still sitting in the parking lot. Everything was going well until I was interrupted while eating at the bar. The hostess asked me if I didn’t mind moving down a seat so a couple could sit together. I did, just to be nice, but for future reference it’s probably not appropriate to ask a guest to move down that’s ALREADY EATING. I could see if I was just sipping a drink but I was in the middle of my meal. I probably won’t go back AND SOLEY BECAUSE OF THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our server, Mark, said classist and catty things about my girlfriend and I to a mutual friend that he didn’t know knew us. He was awkward and slow as well. A different server could not tell us the ingredients in a signature cocktail either.

Service was outstanding and atmosphere was great. The took the lunch burger off the menu so I got the swordfish sandwich. The fish was over cooked and only covered half of the bun it was served on. It was very disappointing. The baked feta was great. The foccacia and house olive oil as well as the two pizzas that were ordered and the chicken soup of the day were fantastic. Just avoid the swordfish sandwich.

Celebrating NYE in Bottega was a real fabulous experience . A dinner of 4 impecable Italian courses made our celebration perfect . The menu is very interesting :fish courses perfectly executed ad well as gnocchi with truffles that were divine . A great selection of Californian wines completed it all. Highly recommend whenever you want a taste of Italy in the city .

This was my first time going on 12/3 and will not be going back. Wait time was ridiculous, a party around the same size was seated before us and we waited a for an hour and a half. Ordered a pizza and it came out burnt. They didn’t notify that a party of 6+ would only be on one check. Felt like customer service wasn’t the best. Also when the check came the waiters stood at the door and they did not do that all night until our party received the check. I noticed other people did not get seated in a timely manner but certain groups of people did. I will not be eating here again. Super disappointed.

Beautiful atmosphere inside and out. Great drinks . I tried a couple of different wines off their wine menu. They were all great . Our party had the salmon Flatbread and deviled eggs with caviar for appetizers, both were delicious. We had mac n cheese with chicken, Spaghetti carbonara, pesce del giorno and we all tasted eachothers. They were amazing. Ryan, our server was the best . We couldn't have asked for a better dinner . I highly recommend.

10/10 literally THE BEST food we've had in Birmingham, having had lived here for 1.5 years. The carpaccio appetizer (which we ordered another one for a salad course), lamb risotto, gulf crab and shrimp rigatoni, and lemon semifreddo were all so flavorful and unique. Service was great without being overbearing. I want to say her name was Danielle but that could very well be wrong. Our new favorite date night spot.

They don't take reservations, but our wait was less than 15 minutes. We had the beef carpaccio appetizer and gin and tonic cocktail. I had the hanger steak and my fiance had the mac and cheese. Both were delicious. I had to splurge on a cappacino and tiramisu for dessert. It was a little loud when we first got there, but as tables left it got better.

The soup was delicious and I could have eaten more of it. The local greens salad was beautiful with varied ingredients, was crunchy and tasty. I had chosen shrimp risotto from the curbside menu but was told it was not being served so they offered rigatoni with shrimp and crab. I got that. I was concerned when the bag of food was put into my car and a 'bad fish' smell came with it. My nose was correct. The smell of past-prime, not-fresh seafood did not go away. I also note the shrimp was overcooked. That entree went right into the trash.
