All your favorite American breakfasts are cooked to Perfection here at Brenda's in a very homey little cafe setting right on the Dunedin Causeway. The my two favorite things that I go there for is the sticky cinnamon buns and I also when I have a sweet tooth like to get a blueberry pancake or two with a regular breakfast her blueberry pancakes are the best in town I don't know why they just make them better here. NEW: I am issuing a cross~the~area notice that there are so many really innovative and what I like to call gourmet grunge Recipes like the ones you see on the gourmet cooking shows and things don’t seem to change very often at many of our local restaurants so I am asking that chefs do specials quite often with really innovative or gourmet grunge items. I’m gonna have my own rating system from now on we’re at the beginning of every review I’m going to say whether I’m bored with this place and they’ll be three degrees of this. Bored, relatively excited, and exciting and innovative.

We didn’t end up going because it was closed which was not stated on Google Maps. I guess we’ll try again one day.

Small quaint diner with fresh delicious food and friendly staff. Go hungry as the portions will fill you up! I’ve been many times and it’s always tasty!! Today I got corn beef hash, eggs, potatoes & sliced tomatoes- YUM!!!!! By the way, I had to get a piece of pie (lemon meringue) to go, it’s to die for!!! 😋

We are locals so we went to go try this awhile ago. My parents have accents which might have made us seem foreign, because of this every other local that came in got served before us and we ended up waiting for an hour for bacon. Keep in mind we ordered way before these people and they still got served first. Never coming back.

On our way to honeymoon island state park. Came in for breakfast. Yes…It’s a dive. It seems to be a family owned and run business. Ms. Brenda is at the helm. Everything is made fresh so yes there is a wait. Home cooked food. Delicious 😋 coffee is awesome. Hot and not too strong ( I don’t like strong coffee). Come by and give it a try…

This is a second review I'm providing for Brenda's - the first was 11 months ago. If anything, the diner is better today than ever before. Brenda is a classic 'short order' cook and prepares everything to order. I've eaten here for breakfast, for lunch ... and there's nothing I haven't liked. Dunedin is one of those quiet little towns (40,000 pop.) situated along Florida's Gulf of Mexico. Beach-goers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, folks coming from the marina or on their way to Honeymoon Island State Park or just Grandma ... they're all here eating together. Crispy corned been hash with two 'sunny side up' eggs on top, sliced tomatoes (instead of home fries) and rye toast all washed down with an unsweetened iced tea was my breakfast. Cost: +/- $15 plus tip. My neighbor / friend with whom I visited had the same thing, only with coffee and potatoes.

The food is always good, but the service is always slow. Don't go if you're in a rush. We like going and don't mind the service because it's always with a smile.

First time here and definitely not disappointed. The chip beef and gravy was wonderful. The staff was friendly and definitely had me laughing. Think I found my new breakfast spot

Nice spot, decent food, good service, but got all kinds of excuses from the owner about her outdated online menu. Prices are almost double now!!! Small breakfast sandwich nearly &15!!! Cordial feedback, but won't be back.

Well I'm practically neighbors and this is only and probably last time ill visit here. First thing I noticed was an open kitchen and the owner I believe cooking bacon, without using any type of cloves. Wide open as if it's normal. Another option was the decor, and coloring and I get it trying to keep it original but this place is hideous. Remind me of a diner on the side on an interstate in West Virginia. Wouldn't be so bad if employees maybe were a little more friendly. Stop taking advantage of us local, always remember who helped in making your restaurant successful. Please paint those hideous boths.

Great food, very friendly staff. You have to go when they have sticky buns. They are outstanding.

Wow we had bacon,eggs, toast and fried potatoes. It was the BEST. Hot and perfectly done. So good we came back the next day.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, I just talk with my money and don't return. I just have to... First, it's a small, quaint place that we decided to try out. It reminded me of other small diners I've been. We figured it's breakfast, how long could it take? The positive, the food was great when we finally received it. The negative, we sat for a while before finally being waited on...that was our first mistake (waiting). We ordered coffees and should have left as ordering took another 20 more mins. Then even getting a refill took a while. As we waited for our food, we watched as some people that arrived after us received food, ate, and left. Only 1 table was still there that I recognized when we were finished. I felt like I was held hostage for over 2 hours of my life. Getting our bill also took a while as our waitress never came back after dropping the food off. I had to get up to ask another one of the staff for it. Wait staff seemed very disorganized... I don't know if it's usually like this or was just a bad day, but I don't know if I'd give them a second chance to find out. 😢

I had the basic breakfast with a coffee and paid more than it was worth, for a greesy spoon resteraunt on the end of a bar with barely any parking I won't be back.

Food was ok, service was polite, however it took FOREVER to get our food on a Friday morning with a restaurant that wasn't very full making the experience lackluster. Won't be returning

My daughter and I had a delicious waffle and eggs bene. First time. Not sure how my wife and I have missed this great little restaurant over past couple years. Brenda was very nice.

Food was good but very expensive. There is a surcharge for ordering breakfast after ? 11 AM, or something like that. Whoulda thunk it? 2 eggs, bacon, home fries, toast and coffee came to just over $15 + add the tip. A bit shocking, and will not be repeated by me.

Small diner, but full of TLC. We ordered their Bacon & Swiss Omelettes with Home fries. It was fantastic. Tasted like it was home cooked ❤️. This will be a regular stop for us for sure.

Moran 10/7/18... good coffee, waited on by Norma & Rose, with Brenda cooking our food...good family n friends supporting this local Dunedin Causeway treasure, gateway to Honeymoon and Caladesi Island State Parks. Flash forward to November 2nd, 2023 - Ms Brenda's is still serving Delicious food. Today was Chip beef and crispy home fries. Mrs Luana Bunting-Moran enjoyed eggs over, a big slice of grilled ham, homefries & rye toast. A local Dunedin Causeway favorite with good Ole home cooking. Thank you Ms. Brenda R.i.p. The food is great! Highly recommend the biscuits & gravy! Feels authentic Florida with friendly service and down home cooking! I had the spinach, feta and onion omelet add green pepper and mushrooms. The veggies and spinach were fresh and cooked to order. It was excellent!

This diner is PERFECT! The food was delicious. We both had egg sandwiches, mine on sourdough. It was really the best egg sandwich I've ever had. (Now, you might be saying, come on, it's an egg sandwich how hard can it be? To which I respond: I know, right? But somehow it was extra super delicious!) The service was outstanding, especially since they were short staffed and one girl worked the whole restaurant virtually alone, and every still appeared in a timely fashion. As for the atmosphere? It's a diner. Exactly what you imagine. Random eclectic art, a great family attempt to be snazzy... just right. You'll enjoy your trip here.

I recently bought a condo one block from Brenda's. Love this place! Great food and great service. A good family owned restaurant to enjoy good American food for breakfast and lunch every day except Monday.

We loved going here for our last meal in a great vacation spot. It's hard to cook in apartments when you are packing to leave so we like to go find a local spot for our last breakfast in town. This did not disappoint. The mom is lovely! :) Good prices, and great food. The French Toast was particularly tasty. Fast service too.

New on favorite list..always liked Covered Bridge nearby. This place is spotless, only locals (we are no longer), just a simple beast joint.

I've been here twice in six months despite living 2 1/2 hours away. I told them, I may not come often, but I will come back! Those ladies are so stinking cute and the food is nearly perfect!

We had breakfast before leaving Dunedin at Brenda's. Great decision! Our sweet waitress was the owner's mom. Super nice lady! The food was wonderful (scrambled eggs, chocolate chip pancake, bacon, grits, homefries, and homemade bread for toast). All menu items were sizable portions and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend!

Brenda's is one of the vanishing diners in America, certainly in Florida. A relatively small place where you can also sit at the counter ... in front of which Brenda works her magic cooking at a small grill. Food is a typical diner fare - open for breakfast and lunch only. Brenda's elderly (spry) Mother works as a waitress, together with another woman. Sitting there is like being in a televised sitcom. A great group of regulars, in season and off. Good value for your money - home cooking daily. I almost always order the corned beef hash (out of a can) crispy, topped with a couple of Sunny-side eggs on top, accompanied by some toast, hash browns or sliced tomato's. Parking in front. A few outdoor seats.

Amazing food. I got the steak and cheese and coleslaw. It was delicious 3 friends got the French toast and said it was the best they ever had. Wonderfully nice people. French toast was phenomenal.

Breakfast was good but the biscuits and gravy were not so good but not awful

The people here are super friendly and super nice The problem I have is the place needs updated. I would paint the whole inside... New floors, updated ceiling, new silverware new plates... I know that would cost a lot of money but... It's such a great location and it would be worth it.

The food here is good but the restaurant is small and cramped. The turn around time to get your order is VERY slow and getting a drink refill takes forever. On a positive the staff are friendly. A favorite location with the locals.

Being across from Marker 1 Marina is handy IF you come i0n by boat and have no transportation, but I found the food mediocre, and service lacking. My biscuits and gravy could have used some sausage in the gravy, and I all but had to refill my own coffee.

What a hidden gem! This lovely place was just what we needed for a great breakfast after arriving on an early flight! Affordable, fresh, quick, and super yummy!!

Wow the food was amazing it does take a little bit to get food but it’s hot and fresh the French toast is by far the best I’ve had in a long time 💕👌🏼

We were staying in Dunedin for a week and unfortunately didn't find Brenda's until our next-to-the-last-day. That said, we were there when she opened at 6am on our last two days and it (and she) is a gem. The food was fantastic and we loved EVERYTHING about it. She's a very nice lady who (after 28 years) is obviously doing things the right way. You really can't go wrong. Just go!

As a dunedin resident this was my 1st time... the ladies that run it were super sweet and all customers were so frieny when walking in.. food was amazing ... eggs were cooked perfect.. french toast were soooo good and sausage links are amazing

Simple breakfast/lunch joint, but good. I usually get an omelette when I go, and notice that they dice/chop their onions and peppers smaller then most places, which is a plus (as it's how I prepare them personally). It helps the food retain more flavor, as well as the ability to make sure every bite has what you want in it.

Found this place thru coupon in local coupon book and are pleased we did. Had 2 burger and a breakfast 1st x + milkshake and nxt time ordered 2 breakfasts...both checks hovered in under $20 so w/ tip comprised filling meals for not much $. This makes the minimal atmosphere quite acceptable for us to knw we've found a quite decent nearby breakfst place...

Brenda's is a local eatery tucked in just before the bridge on the causeway. Small place but great service and food. I had the 2 piece French toast prepared perfectly and home potatoes both flavorful and crispy, just how I like them. My fellow diners had eggs, bacon and toast, again, all prepared as ordered and delicious. Prices were great!!!
