there will be people seeking a place to sit down with family and friends, gets a warm fulfilling meal, perhaps a few drinks- maybe their team is playing on the tv.. and they will be totally satisfied with this lovely establishment. but- there will be people- who went on google maps.. specifically searched for a british pub- and took their chances with british open. this message is for those people! congratulations! you found your SWFL family owned public house. just what you expect from those words- proper british cuisine- a fair selection of english (and irish) beers and liquor- and possibly the most impressively home-tasting gravy you can have outside of your nan’s kitchen. it was lovely to see ownership around interacting with their guests and welcoming them in a warm manner. service is top notch- no detail is overlooked. and those offering the services are truly polite, kind, and hospitable. they take pride in their role and their environment.

Have eaten there in the past and found it better. Service was very slow. I found the food not nearly as good as my previous visits. My fish sandwich, which I have had before was not good, almost tasteless. My wife had the pub sandwich and it too was disappointing. I realize it's a British Pub but the "pub food" was definitely not up to par. Probably won't go again.

You have to try the chicken and mushroom pie - delicious!

The Pot Roast was incredible, but even better was the amazing bartender, Jen, who made you feel like you were the most important person in the pub!

This was our first time visiting the British Open Pub and it was like being back in London with all of its pictures of the Queen and Diana! This trip my wife and I had the liver and onions with mashed potatoes and gravy along with the fried mushrooms! But the highlight was the deserts! My wife had the rhubarb pie with ice cream on top and my daughter and I had the peach cobbler. It was awesome!

This is a great local Pub. The food is really good. The portions are worth the price. The service is good. Just an all around great bar and dining experience.

Old reliable standby for the last 20 years. Serves British standards (why I don't know, but we have a lot of Brit tourists here).

The British Open Pub is a little gem in Bonita! The menu is a great mix of American fare and poplar British dishes. The desserts are amazing! The bread pudding and strawberry rhubarb pie are my favorites. I've tried the peach cobbler as well and it's decadent! The restaurant has a small bar area in the back and also outdoor seating. Jennifer, the bartender, is great and always greets us like we're old friends. The decor in the restaurant is out of this world British. They have artwork, family crests, steins, portraits of royals and famous British leaders, and tons more. This British Open Pub is definitely a fun place to go for a good meal and great service. I highly recommend it! When you go, say hi to Jennifer!

Have eaten here several times. We like it. Pot roast pasty and veges is yummy. I mainly go here for thr BREAD PUDDING! Yum!. Most places make bread pudding too sweet! Everyone from over there knows that real bread pudding is NOT overly sweet, and comes in heavy cream. SOO GOOD! Had the chichen pie once and it was just ok. But everhtung else was very good! Nice ambiance, service usually good. Drinks are re reasonable, not $18 for a little tiny drink with too much ice. I'm trying the liver and onion today, just to be different! Fish and chips everyone raves about. We are picky, and we like it!

The food was okay atmosphere not so much due that they let people smoke and the smell could not avoid.

We went on St Patrick Day today to enjoy corn beef platter but was disappointed as the corn beef appeared to be a process meat like board’s head. It was extremely salty. Not Good.

Best fish & chips around. Great staff fun place to go, even solo. Love the Pot roast pasti delicious with peas & mashed potatoes. I've never had a bad meal or drink here. Always welcoming and happy to see the regular patrons. That's priceless.

So glad we returned to this very special and unique restaurant. It had been a few years but was still just as good as ever. We had a group of 8 and all were delighted with their various choices. I had the Chicken And Mushroom Pie with its regular side dish of "chips" which are thick French fries. It was huge, and absolutely delicious. Our server Jennifer was on the spot and made sure we had everything we needed. They are indeed a busy place with a great reputation. No reservations are available so get there by 5:00pm to avoid waiting. Don't miss it!

Six of us had dinner and drinks on the patio. We had such a wonderful time at a round table and delicious drinks and food. Our favorite part of the whole evening was our wonderful server, Lee. He was so fun and made our night memorable. Thank you Lee!

Atmosphere, food, service is amazing here! Having lived in England, the food is spot on and the tea was a proper cuppa! If you are local and haven’t tried this place yet, do it now!!! Can’t believe I haven’t tried it sooner. Will definitely be back!

Lee gets a 10+++ on his Service, with a smile!!! The Mushroom Soup is out of this World! And, the Strawberry/Rhubarb Pie is bar none!!! Will definitely be back.

Used to be regulars but service definitely gone downhill. What’s up with the hostess that can’t even speak English and has a snotty attitude? Hard time trying to get seated, was not allowed to sit where we wanted to, and no familiar faces even when we finally did. Why all the problems now?? Did resturant get new owners? The’re not going to last for long. Food was still good, love their liver and onions, but not worth all the hassle. Too many other choices.

We absolutely love this place and is reliably good all the time. The food is always fresh, with good flavor, and unique menu items that are authentically British cuisine. They always have open seating and pretty quick service. Most of the staff seem like they've been there for a long time and they're straight to the point. Definitely try the apple and brie appetizer, the burger is a good go to as well.

Try the chicken and mushroom pie with some chips and peas and a bitter shandy - delicious. Great staff. Nice and clean but a bit dark inside which is packed with British memorabilia. Good selection of British beers and food.

I’m a total snob and fussy when it comes to restaurant. Visiting from NYC/WISCONSIN, and Chef and former restaurant owner here who are the hardest people to please. I walked in and the place just has a good vibe. The bar was full of regular patrons, the bartender and customers smiled at me when we entered. The hostess and our waitress were incredible. She offered us happy hour drinks- and the kind of waitress (Wendy?) that you can just trust. That’s how the whole place felt. The food was delicious, the service was the kind you’d expect at grandmas house. Showered with love. Anyway- great place for fish and chips- and my dad had the pasty which was broccoli chicken served with creamy mashed potatoes. The wedge salad- extra creamy blue cheese dressing! What a great meal made even better by customer service. I watched the restaurant operate like a well oiled machine. Thank you!

This place was so cute and the food was incredible. I had the baked fish and chips with the Caribbean veg (an up-charge but worth it) my British husband had a pot roast pie. We are pretty good about portions but plates were nearly clean. Yum! Service was friendly and quick considering how busy they were.

We stopped by on a whim to meet up with family and we all loved it! Everyone cleaned their plates and had dessert!!

You have changed your menu.. it is mediocre..food was hot but it all tasted old. We both decided after tasting the meal we won't come back. It was delicious before so don't understand why everything is now wrapped in pastry. Pot pies should be the name. You lost a customer from across the street. Waited 20 minutes to get the check then had to hear how your beer truck came and how much work that was going to be. Were over it.

The place ooozes character! The food is close but a step above the usual sports bar but excellent with some unique Irish dishes. The staff is super! Prices are in line which makes it a find! If I had a complaint, why for an Irish Bar do you not serve the Reuben Sandwich for dinner???

Sunday Roast, not like England. Mashed potatoes lumpy if you like that and the worst Yorkshire I have ever had. Yorkshire should be light not a muffin. My wife will be happy to show you how to make proper Yorkshire. Pot roast was tender.

Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. There is a bar inside and outside. The decor is warm and welcoming. Been several times for dinner with friends. Service is always pleasant and attentive. The food is tasty and the portions are plentiful. The fish is fresh. Prices are very fair.

My daughter doesn't even like fish and she loved the fish and chips!

Located on Tamiami Trail in Bonita FL, this place has been a mainstay for many years, even through the pandemic. It offers a great deal more that the usual Fish& Chips expected in an English Pub. I have tried several several dishes and have never been disappointed.

Love this Pub, the food is fantastic. Especially the Cottage Pie, Roast Beef Pasties, and the Sausage Rolls. And you can never go wrong with Chips & Gravy while having a Pint! It can all be enjoyed in a nice setting, lots of things to look at while waiting for your food/drinks. Bravo, Chaps.

First time visiting with a party of 6, everything served was fantastic. Highlights included the Mushroom and Brie Soup, Cottage Pie, and Fish and Chips. Service was quick, recommendations were spot on. Would happily return!

The food wasn’t even remotely like British pub fare, if that what you’re hoping for. “Chips” are tasteless frozen food style steak fries. Fish was about a notch above Gortons, and burger was utterly flavorless.

One of our favorites, all menu items should be tried, they're good. My wife loves the Liver and onions, l go for the bangers and mash.

Good beer and great food they have some of the best liver and onions in the State of Florida and the rest of the entrees or delicious also great bread pudding good service can ask for much better

Weekly date day at British Open Pub. Every Sunday, my wife and I go to a different local restaurant and give our honest opinion of the food and service. We read a lot of good reviews of B.O.P. in the Naples Restaurant Word of Mouth FB group and thought we'd give it a try. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the pot roast. The fish was the best I've had in Naples or Bonita since moving here 2yrs ago. It was flaky and very clean (not fishy) tasting and the Pot Roast was so good, we got one to go. We got a Bread Pudding to go as well and even though it was very good, it doesn't beat mine, Lol. This will definitely be on our list of restaurants to revisit. Still so many tasty dishes to sample. Love this place. The food is awesome. The service is fantastic. The atmosphere is British, and it's throughout this establishment. The bathrooms are even beautiful. I visit whenever I can.

We've met friends here for lunch, almost monthly 'in season'. Our different people order different meals and order again and again. We are very rarely disappointed. I do not recommend the fish, but others might. This is my "go to" place for Liver and Onions.

This may be the most authentic version of a British Pub I've encountered in the United States. Drop the cozy interior to the food. I'll be back

A British pub. They have an excellent menu, trying to stay away from American fare, as much as possible. When we asked about the fried mushrooms, the waitress said, Oh the mushrooms on steroids. They were huge! And extremely well cooked. The coating stuck to the shroom even when cut into smaller pieces. Linda M is a great server. Very friendly and attentive. They have outside and inside seating. The pot roast was delicious.

This used to be one of our favorite places when we were in the area. Stopped in today for a beer and lunch. Several people at bar but no bartender. A customer advised that she was in the kitchen. We waited a bit and a woman came out. She stopped right in front of us and washed several glasses and never said a word. She then walked past us to the end of the bar to wait on someone that sat after we did. She asked if he was eating, handed him a menu and told him the specials. Walked past us again to go get his drink order. We decided to wait another minute or so for her to come back. She again walked past us to deliver the other customers drink and then walked past us again to go talk to maybe another employee. Never once did she acknowledge us, indicate someone would be with us soon or even bother to look at us. Needless to say we walked out. Unfortunate as we love the food there and were really looking forward to eating there. Will not go out of our way again to go there!

This is a great cozy spot with great pub food. The past couple visits, we ended up sitting at the bar and was taken care of by the amazing Jess! She is so accommodating and friendly and despite being busy, she was very prompt and attentive. I have been very pleased with the food for the most part, but this visit the pork chops were overcooked and dry. However, that wouldn't deter me from going back, as it is usually very good. I love the atmosphere here and recommend this venue.

We ate here on a Friday by ourselves and liked it so much that we brought friends back to eat there on Wednesday night. Tried different things each night and everyone’s food was good. Service was good. Prices very reasonable.

First visit tonight. Food was outstanding, fish and chips, pork chop dinner. The cole slaw was the best I've had in a restaurant. The mash, stuffing and peas & carrots were spot on as well. Excellent service, Linda exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was neat, clean and orderly. Fun decor with happy employees. Ended the meal with a warm peach cobbler, yummy!!

Made from scratch entrees (pasties and shepherds pie) and desserts (strawberry/rhubarb pie). Looks like the bar and Happy Hour are popular, too! Excellent service from Linda, and friendly hostess. The decor is fun (English pub) and the music was 60s/70s. All our favorites, and we didn't feel "hurried" to finish and leave.
