Probably has the best pizza around the area and definitely has the best calzones I've eaten. I've lived out east and this is probably as close as to New York pizza that you're going to get in the area. I went there quite a bit when I was in college over a decade ago, especially when going to the MSC basketball tournaments before the city tore the convention center down. It was a staple every time. Friday nights were Buddy's pizza when we went. Any other time, it was something new to try, but I generally got a pepperoni-sausage calzone. I moved down not too long ago, so I go once in a while, and it's generally the calzone with an Ale-8. 8/19 I don't know what happened, but it was just God-awful. I'm not sure how you manage to burn/blacken a calzone, but it sure happened. Not entirely sure what happened between this and when I was here a few months ago. Severely understaffed for a weeknight. Seemed the staff was more interested in the party in the other room. It is what it is. Sure hope that this was an anomaly.

Best pizza in Frankfort! Love the option for vegan cheese & vegan cheese bread! I could eat here 7 days a week. We have dined in and ordered take out and both times we were impressed! The jerk chicken wings are also FANTASTIC. Would recommend to anyone looking for a delish bite to eat in Frankfort.

Why do you serve terrible pizza? Do guys not have access to decent recipes? It’s a Frankfort mystery.

A wonderful little hole in the wall for a quick lunch. They have pizza, sub sandwiches, and salads. My wife and I shared a Caesar salad and they served the best Caesar dressing in my memory. I had an Italian sub, my wife a vegetarian sub. Both were delicious.

Food was HOT!! I do not like cold food! I’m so impressed! My food was steaming! Got baked spaghetti! Needed no seasoning! No bland boring spaghetti here! Flavorful real meat & tomatoes! Lady at counter had A++ personality! Everything was clean! If I lived closer I would visit regularly!!

It is a great pizza, if you are in Frankfort don’t miss it.

I got the 16$ 12 inch BBQ pizza and it was covered in the worst excuse of canned chicken, cilantro, and pineapple. The only good part was the crust. Also waited an hour for my order. Never going there again.

Small place pizza spot with a New York style flat crust pizza. Sells by the slice or whole pies. Sauce is tasty and the jerk style wings I had with my slice was great. Also have various sandwiches and other wet and dry rub wing styles.

We are at Buddy's Pizza and it was delicious! Their bourbon glaze wings were delicious! They were hot and crispy. Some of the best wings I've ever had! They had a two topping pizza special for $15.99 that we took advantage of. The pizza came out hot and the crust was baked perfect. They are very large slices of pizza too. It was absolutely delicious! We will be back one day!

I met a lady from Long Island and she asked me if I had found the only New York Italian pizza slice here in kentucky yet... I sadly said no! She said go to Buddy's. I did...and I did!

They make the pizza as crispy, salty and affordable as I love it. One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten.

We were visiting on vacation and looking for a local pizza restaurant. Our family loved the pizza and the staff was very friendly. I will absolutely recommend!

Have been here before and it was very good, but apparently now they don't open until 4:30 pm on Saturdays?? I guess they don't want any lunch business.

Definitely worth making a visit. Came at lunch and girl behind the counter was swapped, but definitely got everyone through quickly. Pizza was a little greasy mainly do to old world pepperoni, but was good.

Budget friendly pizza if you're in Frankfort. -- We ordered a large Big Bear for two and it was the perfect amount. Roasted garlic & olive oil, bacon, sausage, and tomato. It was a tasty combination of toppings!

Food is excellent would recommend the meatball sandwich.

Staff is sweet and friendly. Pizza is good. I also ordered Calzone it was huge! I will return hopefully i can order a whole pizza next time.

We visited for the second time on 11/4/23 at 4pm. This place is a must we visit Frankfort now. Everything has been amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful.

Nothing like an XL🍕(largest pizza I've ever seen) from Buddy's Pizza in downtown Frankfort to end our family's fun night of Halloween festivities, Trunk or Treating and watching a Parade.

Such a sweet place, could have talked for hours with them. Visiting from South Carolina, asked why all the pet pics? Buddy was their yellow lab 17yrs ago, how the name started. Now people mail their fur babes in and they hang them 😍 Food was amazing, staff super sweet, just overall charming experience.

We just happened to be in town for a place to break up the long drive between Illinois and Myrtle Beach. So, we looked for a local place, not a chain, to get a sense of the town. We definitely found that here.Seemed to be a family run restaurant, not fancy ( just what we wanted)) with excellent pizza and a cold beer. Lots of local families around and a chance to see the historic downtown. Truly the pizza was outstanding and just what weary travelers were after.😉 Would highly recommend.

Have you ever seen a 22" pizza. And, it was fantastic and cooked perfectly as ordered. We fed a whole group with it!

Excellent pizza but they take the phone off the hook if they are busy so it’s impossible to order for take out, hence the three stars. Plan to eat in if you want their pizza. :)

Delightful place. We went for the Cauliflower Pizza Crust and fabulous toppings... My honey had the regular Crust. Said it was thin and perfectly cooked. Service was quick and friendly.

the service was horrible. first the lady who took our order was rude. we should have left then. they then lost our pizza order and when questioned about it they were defensive...never apologized. then they made the pizza wrong and didn't apologized. sat there watched my whole family eat, while waiting for the pizza for an hour. will not go here again and would not recommend anyone else going there either.

First time I went to Buddy's Pizza per a friend's request I was impressed they have the old style sized pizzas and they absolutely give you your money's worth on the pizzas delicious and I recommend it to everyone

Such a cute little pizza place, though I think they need to upgrade to a bit of a bigger building. They get enough customers lol.

Me and my wife both got calzones for lunch. One a the few places you can get one around here. Absolutely the most delicious menu item in my opinion. Baked perfect, ricotta is ridiculously creamy and jam packed with meat. The marinara for dipping should be bottled. I could just eat spoonfuls of that chunky goodness all day. Everything is top notch, not greasy just clean and delightfully soothing to your soul. Not a bit of reflux for this happy customer. Did I mention you should go get one? You'll be hooked! Thanks for a great meal guys. Whoops, I forgot to take a picture just dove right in. Should've bought one to go. Now I want another one.

Very nice pizza place in downtown Frankfort. Our hosts were super friendly which makes a huge difference when you’re sitting down to eat in a hometown restaurant. The cuisine was actually pretty roomy for a small town pizza place. It hasphotos of the local’s fury companions on the wall and the place was very clean. You can tell it’s a local favorite. The pizza was quite excellent too. Real mozzarella cheese and real pepperoni! The crust was crunchy on the ends just like we all enjoy it. Also a toasty undercarriage like DP likes it lol. Very brick oven. Highly recommended

Stopped in with my wife for a small cheese pizza before a concert downtown. We arrived an hour before the concert doors opened, thinking we had plenty of time. We ordered and watched numerous people walk in, order, and leave with their to-go orders for over 50 minutes and never received our own. When I asked for a refund, I was laughed at. Although she was rude,I still received my refund and then left.

Always a favorite. Only thing missing was Sesame working behind the counter.

Mike was kind enough to cater our wedding after we fell in love with Buddy’s after visiting our venue months before. Absolutely amazing pizza, wings, and cheese sticks! Our guests loved every bit of it. Buddy’s quickly became the star of the show on our big day and rightfully so!

Great place to visit in frankfort with good food. The people were really nice and there was cool things to do around there as well.

Good until the last bite. They have great pizza and the people are very nice and helpful 10/10 would recommend. I will be a returning customer for life. I recommend the white garlic sauce, but all are delicious.

This is cute quaint and delicious pizza place with a good micro brew selection. My kids said it was one of the best pizzas they ever had, and they love pizza, so that is saying something. I agree it was excellent and the caesar salad was one of the best I have had. The Big Bear pizza was superb, so much flavor. They loved it so much they wanted to go back the next day after our BT tour, but we did not because of time.

I moved to Kentucky in may of 2013 finally after 9 long years I found the best pizza since I moved down to Kentucky from Pennsylvania! The crust has a nice crisp to it the sauce is not too sweet or too bitter it’s just right you can taste the freshness in the veggies and the pepperoni is cooked just right with a nice crunch! The best part about it though is that it still tastes amazing reheated! My only complaint is there is no delivery! I’m just happy I found a pizza place in Kentucky that is not a chain that is really good I’ve been looking for 9 years! You have found a new customer for life!

Ordered their pizza and wings special. They have several wing flavors to choose from and you can order pizza by the slice - honestly one slice is probably enough... I enjoyed the flavor of the dough, sauce, and pepperoni and the wings were very plump. They have lots of space and a rather convenient location.

Great pizza for your buck. If you are in town for the lunch special pricing its even more worth it. The slices are huge and had to be served on two plates 😮 should have took a pic 🤦‍♂️

Buddy's Pizza always puts a smile on my face! The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the pizza and toppings are great quality... but the chicken wings, PHENOMENAL!

The pizza is amazing but I have to say that the phone system is lacking. Last night made the third time we have tried to phone in an order and we’ll get an answer just to hear “hold please” I’m ok with holding but we waited 10 minutes on hold listening to conversations in the background we finally hung up and tried to call back about 5 minutes later and the phone line was busy because they forgot about us and left the phone on. This particular call was a major bummer because my husband was just released from the hospital and wanted pizza. So we weren’t able to go into the store this time.

Great pizza. Only downside for me is they always seem to have pepperoni for slice of the day. Would love a little more variety.

Excellent pizza! We had a lg. BBQ Chicken , and a small Veggie pizza. The crust is made like my mom used to make crust, with cornmeal. Crispy yet soft, delish. The toppings were very generous and the cheese was nice and stringy. Totally satisfied!!! The environment was very casual and comfortable. I would absolutely 💯 recommend this place for everyone.

By far the top of the pizza chains in Frankfort. Forget the others who I won’t mention, this is the kind of homey spot that serves up delicious food for any craving. Wings come here, pizza come here, subs come here…. Need I say more. A wonderful spot for the whole family. Awesome food, prices, and great service. Will definitely be returning!!!!

Food was great and a lot. Calzone was so large I ate half there and ate the other half later at home. No long wait for the order.

First time as we had to do some stuff in Frankfort Kentucky, definitely not a New York City hero, but where where we are tasty cook properly sauce is pretty good, staff was pretty friendly, we both enjoyed it. Yes I would recommend if you're in the area and need a quick lunch. The part of Frankfort we were in did not really have any fast food, and I figured by the time we got to a fast food restaurant it would be cold. After doing a search we found this location in and out of the door in less than 15 minutes, so again yes I would recommend this if you're in historic part of Frankfort Kentucky

My wife and I shared a 12 inch little Bill and it was plenty for the two of us. The topping tasted great and the crust was wonderful. More medium crust with a little chewiness. With a great toasted bread taste. Service was fast and professional. I hope to go back soon.

Pros: *Extremely nice staff *Conveniently located downtown amongst many shops and historic buildings. *Plenty of seating and it has a small bar on one side and the pizza part on the other. *One free soda refill and lots of stacked pizza boxes you grab yourself to take the leftovers. *They offer a garlic butter or ranch to dip your crust in. *My friend liked her salad and said it was very good. Cons: *We ordered the extra large. Given the size the outside was dry and the middle was a little underdone. *The building is very old with original wood floors, but the walls were in need of some serious repair. It has a very old historic building smell as well. Probably difficult to clean. *Closes for part of the day between lunch and dinner; can be hit or miss if it is open. *No wifi
