I tried my hardest not to leave a negative review but this was such a bad experience... I ordered 2 burgers and fries. I was told it would be 10 mins. I waited 30 mins on the dot. The restaurant wasn't busy. It was 9pm on a cold Friday, and it wasn't a difficult order. I asked for condiments on the side. There was nothing in the bag and the fries were cold. I went to the company's website to send an email, and the "guest relations" page says "unfortunately the page has timed out". I attempted to open the page multiple times, on wifi and without, but it wouldn't load. The only thing about this visit that was good, was the counter customer service..

Love that they have gluten free buns! My go to is the Black and Bleu burger....so delicious 😋.

Our first time here. Fantastic service. The girls behind the counter helped us to order at the kiosk. They hand make the chocolate milk. The burgers are great. Cannot wait to come back and try another style of burger. Very clean shop.

This is by far the best burger in Tampa. It’s so tasty and juicy … French fries are outstanding too…

UPDATE on 11/1/23 This Westchase location of Burger21 consistently is less then it should be. Service is fine... most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Tonight they were busy... had about 20 people in line. I skipped the line and went to the electronic ordering kiosk that no one was using. That went well... no issues. I ordered a Cheesy burger (WELL DONE) as you can see from the receipt I took a picture of. The burger came out basically RARE. Which is better than some past visits... where the burger was basically RAW. Look at some of my past photos. So RARE was an improvement! I never order well done at other burger places... I hate well done. But here... their version of well done is RARE. But yes.. better than RAW. I remember when I first started going to Burger21.. they had a serve yourself condiment bar. I am sure there were people abusing that, and probably even taking stuff home. So they shut it down to save a few bucks. Now you have to ask for everything, and they bring you out one or two little tiny condiment containers... like 1" across the top. Not even enough to dip an order of fries in. They also have removed the serve yourself drink dispenser apparently, as a girl brought the coke I ordered. I was not offered a refill, and you would think for a $3.19 beverage, they could refill it and still make money right? I love the burgers at Burger21... if they could just cook them to medium rare consistently. If they were a little more generous with the Chipotle Mayo! If they would offer a refill on your drink. The obvious PENNY PINCHING, and the lack of a decent cook.. are what keep me from coming here often. Old Review from 5 years ago ------------------------------------------ I ordered a Cinco burger, Medium ( I usually prefer burgers medium rare, but they everytime I come here, they are undercooked... and I hate MUSHY hamburger patties!) So medium is usually a good option... to get a medium rare burger, or close it. Also ordered a "shareable" onion strings. After I ordered, I went over the sauce section, and they were out of Chipotle Mayo (my favorite!)... so I let the girl at the counter know. 10 minutes later, went to the restroom... came back, stopped by to check the Chipotle mayo... nothing. Let the girl (different girl) know ... Burgers arrived.. I went to check the Chipotle mayo.. nothing. Let the girl know. Went back to the table...started eating. Onion strings tasted a little off, like the oil they were fried in was old and nasty. Girlfriend went to check the Chipotle Mayo... nothing. By burger was more like very rare.. mush pattie. I could not finish it... it was gross. The Dale Mabry location puts the Sour Cream sauce and Guacamole on the side... this location puts in on the burger before bringing it out... mushy bun too! Like I said gross... when I can't finish a burger, it has to be pretty bad. Girlfriend did not finish her burger either... again, pattie was basically raw in the middle... not pink.... raw, and mushy. Did not finish hardly any of the onion strings either.. and I love those things! Of course I like them even better with some Chipotle Mayo to dip them in... and we never did get any of that! I guess I could have complained right then and there... but I did not want to make a scene (that and I shouldn't have to complain!) First time I went, food was gross (ahi tuna burger was yuck)... and the owner comped a free meal to see if I had a better experience. It was better... and I gave 5 stars (was actually about a 3 star experience) because I appreciated the attempt to make things right. I like Burger 21... it is my fav burger place at the moment. I usually eat there at least once a week (Dale Mabry location!)... but this location is a lot closer to both work and the house. In the future... I will stick to the known good location! So 1 star!

One of the nicest & cleanest Burger21’s I’ve seen! Food was great and above all the service was exceptional! I love burgers but I am still yet to eat a burger better than their OMG in combination with their Ragin’Cajun sauce. If you are in the Westchase area, check this place out!

The food is delicious,!!!! ive been there couple times and I think the place needs a good cleaning,tables are often durty and sticky, the floor is very sticky, glass door very dirty, napkins case and lamps very dusty

Well I went with my son and nephew, and it was first is wayyyy too expensive, then the French fries I think they dump the salt container on top , the patties were burnt . So , no I won't go back there.

This place used to be fantastic and worth the price. Seems like they cutback on quality ingredients and kept the same price. Don’t say you didn’t, as even your buns have changed. For 80+ dollars, I’ll pass. Get your quality back in your product.

I ordered a takeout and arrived there in about 13 minutes. Then waited in line for 10 minutes just to pickup my order. There was only one cashier. My fries were cold and tough, and the hamburger was slightly warm. I was very disappointed, and will not go to this location again.

They don’t allow kids under 18 into the restaurant past 5pm. i look well over age and they wanted to ID me. is that even legal. what is this a bar ???? No

I stopped by before closing to order food to go. Giselle, who was quite helpful, recommended the Buffalo chicken sandwich. So many menu options. The sandwich was tender and delicious. Convenient burger restaurant in Westchase. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. Will definitely keep coming back to try the black bean burger.

I was leaning towards not getting anything after ordering for our dance team and Bri said “you should get the tenders, they are delicious”. So she did her job upsold a customer and the tenders WERE delicious. Too many times good service goes unrewarded and/or left without mention. Bri made this particular visit a great one :)

Dom and our server darbie were very patient with us considering it was our first time here. Very good customer service, the place is kept clean. The food was 10/10

We go every Friday to treat ourselves to the start of the weekend! Love it here- and their hazelnut milkshake is AMAZING! *** I am disappointed to have to edit my review after many months of attending this establishment. But the teenagers have gotten WILD! Ever since it has been summertime, there are tons of teens that come in and push tables together, and don't buy anything, and get crazy and loud. It is uncomfortable and we have stopped going to this location. There is even a sign on the door that says anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, but it doesn't do anything, they still come in and no one working there seems to care about the chaos they bring with them... It is a shame since the food is so good....

Great burger that hits just right. I got bacon, avocado and American cheese. The sauce they put on the burger is solid and adds a mild tang. No need for ketchup, mustard or mayo. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned.

Black + Bleu burger is my favorite! They have an awesome staff...they're the friendliest people, the restaurant is clean and the food is always hot and delicious!!! I miss the apple cider dipping sauce but they have an excellent honey mustard sauce. My sister is crazy for the Shroom burger and my daughter, the Black Bean burger. The food is so good, we HAVE to come back for more.

Service is absolutely terrible. It wasn’t busy at all only one customer and it’s took me over 15 minutes just to get a shake. There’s just no point.

I love this place. Edit: This was my family’s favorite place to eat together. The service is phenomenal and the food is great. We eat here at least 1-2x a week. However, I am really disappointed in the menu changes, especially the removing the grilled cheese and super burger salad. The grilled cheese was literally the only thing my toddler would eat on the menu, and the burger salad was by far the best one. Please bring back the grilled cheese, even if you have to raise prices. I’m begging you.

To begin I would like to say that the hospitality has been growing with the staff these past few months. I placed my order by phone and I believe the order taker was " ISHMAEL" and he couldn't have done a better job. He was happy on the phone, efficient and even repeated my order back 2x !! Order was ready and everything was correct with the order. HOWEVER all 3 orders of fries were not edible, the fries were old, definitely dropped in the fryer multiple times. With such a great burger try not to ruin that and serve fresh hot fries...

Quoted 15 minutes took 50, ordered online and all 3 burgers where made wrong which I paid extra from bacon on them, also ordered onion rings and didn’t get them. The kid who looked for my order was visibly stressed and when I asked for sauces that was in my order he just said they didn’t have them. Terrible experience and the two people who were in front of me also had messed up orders.

They made me the Triple Espresso Milkshake, even though it was past it being the featured shake flavor. Made my day!!

Raw burger and cold fries. I ordered a cheese burger on a Wednesday, their special, which one would think they would get right. I asked for well done but got a rare burger. The fries were very cold and leathery. I simply walked out and even ask for refund as this has happened before in the past. I am not sure why it is so hard for them to cook a burger. The service was good; however, before brining my order, they brought me a milkshake that I didn’t order.

Amazing food and amazing service. Food was brought out to my family and I, manager always checking in on our table. This place has had a lot of improvement from the previous times i was here. 10/10 recommend

Food and shakes were very good. However, yet again, the service is painfully slow. Online order indicated, ready at 5:48pm. 6:10pm now and still waiting and there's only 4 groups of people in the place. Oh and yeah, the food was sitting on the counter for the last 10 minutes!!!

Man in the front was very cool and helpful with service and information. Dom the chef made some fantastic Burgers. We had the Tex-Mex and CEO burger. Best burger Ive had in a while. Had the crispy onion rings and fries with some 3 cheese sauce.. Couldn't even finish, we were so full! Will be back soon. Thanks guys!

What's there with my wife yesterday. Took very long for the burgers to arrive at our table. Asked the waitress for fork and knife and she brought one(1) for 2 people. The fries were cold, the burger was salty, the onion rings were terrible and the burger bun on the bottom was soaking wet. NEVER EVER go back there

Ordered a salad and it was terrible. The avocado was basically black. Place is pretty dirty. Even the employees uniforms are filthy. The employee that dropped off our food didn't have gloves on and I watched her fingers with very long nails go right into my salad as she put the bowl down. Overall disgusting. All this was going on while the two "owners/managers" were in the place and it seemed like their top concern was to put a sign up to keep unaccompanied kids out.

Had an amazing time at this local hamburger joint in Westchase! They've got a killer Wednesday deal with burgers and fries for just $7.99! Good food but way understaffed. Waited 20 minutes for 4 hamburgers..asked for our drinks multiple time. Received drinks after we ate. Really poor experience and felt bad for the girls working.

5 of us with two kids visited burger 21 for a late lunch. One kid enjoyed the chicken strips. The rest of us had the burgers. One of the group had gluten free bun and burger. Burgers were very large and well appointed with extras. We had half sweet potato/half regular fries. Both were good. Not you regular fast food place. Certainly would eat here again.

Overpriced, mediocre burgers and salads in a freezing dining room lacking any character. The employees seem to be in a trance. I walked in tonight and immediately the cashier walked into the kitchen, leaving the dining room completely empty - no customers or employees. I had to poke my head into the kitchen to ask if they were still open. It was about 8:40 and they didn’t close until 9. Finally, an employee emerges to take my order. The employees seem like robots - courteous but their faces indicate that they would rather be anywhere else. Apparently, customers feel the same way. The restaurant is empty or nearly empty every time I go, regardless of time of day or night.

Burger 21 never disappoints you, I am a vegeterian. And there aren’t places where you can get Vegeterian options for burgers especially! Totally recommend this place!

I’m honestly surprised by all of the low reviews for this location. Burger 21 has consistently been the best burger I’ve had in the Westchase area. The burgers are perfectly made every time and so full of flavor. Our favorites are the cheesy and the black + bleu

Do not recommend - Tonight was our 1st ever visit to Burger 21 and we were highly disappointed. The service was terrible and the food did not even taste good. They have all teenagers running the place. I ordered onions on my burger and didn’t realize that I was charged $4.99 for an entire container of onion straws that I did not order. They do not give you ketchup or mustard and you have to ask for it. The guy brought 2 small containers out for 3 people. When I ordered the kids meal I asked the girl taking the order how many chicken strips it came with, and she said 3. We only received 2. When we asked we were told that it’s only 2 and I could buy an extra one for $2. The strips were tiny - only slightly bigger than an individual McDonalds chicken nugget. My burger was supposed to be medium well but it was over cooked beyond well and not even juicy. The sweet potato fries were covered in excessive salt. The party we cave with ordered a kids meal cheeseburger and it was missing the cheese. They sent it back to get cheese added and the 5 year old did not get his food for an additional 15min because they forgot about it. They also ordered chocolate milk and a milkshake. The milk was not even mixed and took over 20 min to make. The milkshake never came out in the 45 min we were there and we were told they had to add ice cream to the machine. They ended up asking for a refund but they had to wait another 10min for a manager. There was only 1 other group dining in so this all should not have been a problem. Every single employee working needs to be retrained or fired. We will never be back.

I went and got a kids cheese burger. Everyone was pretty disappointed. There was barely any meet in it.

Went for Sunday lunch after church with my wife. She wanted her burger medium rare and was told medium or well done were the options. Burger 1 was beyond well done. Sent back and the second one was almost raw. Its now been 15 minutes and hefe is number 3......well done. Cant get it right even if by accident.

Quality has taken a hit, and they still act like it's covid. No drink or sauce fountains. Prices are through the roof.

I like they have options for gluten free bread and fries and they have a dedicated fryer. They also have many options for sauces, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. Milkshakes look outstanding they have beer and cider and wine available.Eush they would add a Gluten Free Beer. You can sit outside, really nice area and also nice inside.

Honestly not much reason to go here. I came because they sent me an email for a cheeseburger for $5. I'd never been before, so figured I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, you must order through their app, which I had to install on my phone to get the $5 deal. Ordered the burger, and it was a long wait to get the sandwich. It really wasn't anything great. I ordered it well done, but it came out medium, which isn't even an option to choose. The burger was too small for the bun. It tasted ok, but definitely not anything special, and not worth the $5 "deal." The highlight of the visit was the 21 sauce, which was quite tasty, but it's basically Chipotle mayo. There are so many better burger options than this...even Checkers and dare I say it Wendy's have better burgers than here, and much cheaper too. I likely won't be back to this place, as like I said there are way better options for your $$. The employees were nice/friendly, and it's quite a big restaurant fyi, there is also some outdoor seating.

It was as we ordered. The only issue was the temperature. There should be more than two choices for temperature.

From the beginning, everything went wrong, the order was incomplete, the food was terrible, the potatoes are old and cold, the chicken tenders are the smallest I have ever seen, and in addition, the grapes on the children's menu that come were really bad, I would not go back to This place is never expensive and bad, I do not recommend it in the least….

This is my favorite restaurant for sweet potato fries. When I’ve visited this location lately they keep coming out cold. I didn’t have time to go back and ask for warm ones. It’s just not super convenient to take the kids out of the car for all that. I want to continue visiting but it’s pretty challenging when you pay $5 for cold fries. Tried to mention it but didn’t get any response.

It's a 5* review which meant to be 1* and no, I will not be dining here again but since the majority of personal is young, maybe they will take this 5* as a future aim and really deserve it one day. Here is what I think. People who hate their jobs serve food to people they despise. No, you won't hear a "hello" here or get a smile. Conversation is very "efficient" and starts with a "name for your order". Ordered a simple hot dog and burger plate, could not believe how many times classier pressed something on her screen. I felt like she's typing a message to the kitchen "o n e hoooot dog, and....". After that a simple hot dog for which you asked "everything" on it, comes with ketchup only. Even no mustard. And to get it - no, you won't have access to some area where it all stored. You got to wait either for the girl who brings the food out of the kitchen or classier. Food was pretty terrible by the way. Guys at the table next to me looked unhappy too and requested to replace a burger which was overcooked when they asked for rare.

i love burger 21, it is a great place to get a quick lunch. the atmosphere is very nice and the shakes are great. i’ve noticed a decline in the quality of the burger buns but it is something you can over look

Service and quality of food has gone downhill at this location over the last couple years. The last 3 visits it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive to our table. 2/5 meals were incorrect but we dealt with it to not prolong our visit. Also, putting the drink machines and sauce pumps back to self service as they were pre-Covid would be helpful to prevent backup at the register.

Caution . Manager is useless here. Store overrun with local school aged trash. Doors and sidewalk blocked. This place needs help.

Tonight we had an AWFUL dinning experience at the Burger 21 Westchase location! The entire restaurant and the outdoor seating was overrun with almost 50 middle school kids who were trashing the restaurant, using excessive profanity, hitting each other, blasting music with profanity AND throwing food at each other. The staff was embarrassed and said “this happens every Friday” The group of kids then took it to the roundabout where they shot their pellet guns at each other and acted like juvenile delinquents. The local sheriff showed up and the kids left, but they didn’t treat the officer with respect either. Sad. I blame the management of this establishment-you need to take ownership of your store and not allow entry of these children without an adult. The middle school children have taken over and ruined the dining experience for your paying customers. This evening was embarrassing and it scared my two children who thought they were going to be SHOT today. In addition, closing your bathrooms for customers and locking 3 of your 4 entry/exit doors is probably also a fire hazard- I get what you’re trying to accomplish with eliminating the chaos from multiple entries but it’s probably not safe in case of an emergency.

I will not be returning to this location. Not because of the food, but the terrible customer service. The first time I went there, I ordered online. I should have checked the order before I left, but didn’t. I got home to see they had forgotten the fries. I called them. They would not bring them to me, but promised a refund which I never got. I decided to give them a second chance. I shouldn’t have. I ordered online and pulled into the to go space. I followed the instructions to text them that I was there and that someone would be “right out” with my order. Ten minutes later, I finally went in to see where the heck my food was. It was not busy. Took another 5 minutes for someone to wait on me and hand me my to go bag that had been sitting on the counter for god knows how long. All I got was an “Oh sorry.” from the person who waited on me. The food would have probably been good if it hadn’t been cold by the time I got it. This place won’t be getting a third chance from me.

Decent burgers, but not fort the price. Low quality bun, similar to any cheap pack that you can buy at a WinnDixie. Three mini cheese slides for $9 with no fries…. Fries come at an extra $3.5…. Do not recommend.

I went to another location in Tampa a few weeks ago and ordered the farm salad and it was beautiful. The girl at the ordering station was quiet and I had to ask her to repeat a few times but I am sure she asked if I wanted everything that came on the salad. I said yes please and received a salad with chewy old tasting chicken, hardly any goat cheese crumbles at all, if any, and no toasted nuts. The strawberries weren’t even cut into bite size pieces. This was disappointing. The tenders I ordered on the side look very yummy. I’m sure you guys can do better. *** Edit - I don’t complain out loud about food to my daughter who I’m sharing this meal with and she and I had the same reaction to the chicken tenders. The batter was so greasy it fell off the tender and the chicken was chewy underneath. The oil tastes bad. 😞
