This place is so good, came here on our way out of Philmont after a 100 mile hike and it was great. Good prices and delicious food. Plenty of fun things to do awhile eating.

We happened to be in Cimarron at lunch time and stumbled on to this place. It is great!! The owner, Kathleen, is very friendly. They had a fenced-in area for our dogs and tables in the fenced area with water for the dogs so our dogs could run around and do their business, while we ate. And just as important, the food was great. You have to try her lemonade and her spicy lemonade. It is spicy. The food was flavorful, not bland like some Mexican food can be in restaurants.

I'd give 20x more stars if I could!!! I'm usually not one to stop at an outside-only eatery, but I heard such great reviews from other Scouters that I had to try it!! Kathleen is super friendly, so speedy, and serves the most amazing food (and quite possibly the best lemonade I've ever had!) And it was absolutely affordable! [I only wish the fresh tortillas were sold on their own because they were so delicious.]

It was corn dog day at Philmont Scout Ranch, and we needed a hearty meal. Kathleen was exceptional! Her personality is amazing!! Now let's talk food... the burritos were probably the best we've ever had! If you like heat, go for the green. If not, go for red! I was excited to see sweet tea - being from North GA, I miss it!! Do yourself and try this place- YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

When my troop visited we had one of the best times at any restaurant we’ve ever been to, Kathleen was quick witted and incredibly funny, kind, and welcoming. The food was immaculate, the green chili lemonade especially was addictive(she makes them into popsicles be sure to ask for them), and she even has handmade Philmont arrowhead chocolates. I will be back here some day no matter what, deserves more than 5 stars.

The food was absolutely incredible. The service was unmatched for Cimarron and I will definitely recommend it for anyone looking for some really good Mexican food.

Amazing food and great atmosphere with lots of things to do

I have never seen a business owner so excited to share her food with the world in my life. Kathleen is personable with every customer that comes through her line, and that line has been incredibly long every time we've driven by. The food was hot and fresh, made daily. Our orders were made immediately right in front of us, and the service was quick. I got the bean burrito along with the cheezie (basically a cheese only quesadilla). The burritos were a little messy but tasted excellent, as was the cheezie. The red salsa that comes with the meal was good, although she warned us it may be spicy. (It was relatively mild). My only critique is that I think the burrito would be elevated quite a bit by a good chicken or beef option to go into it. I'll also never understand the New Mexican obsession with green chili, but that's a regional thing. Overall, we will absolutely be back. Outside of the food review, I have never seen a business support scouting the way this one does. Kathleen's passion for supporting the scouts coming and going from Philmont nearby is infectious, and you can tell the scouts love her right back.

This is the best place we've stopped at so far in New Mexico. Definitely a must stop into and out of the parks. Burritos are delicious and home made. The atmosphere is awesome and definitely a good place to rest after a long drive.

Fast friendly service with outdoor seating and several games to play. Kathleen is friendly, fast and very welcoming! The smile on her face comes easily and shows her pride for her food and atmosphere. I look forward to stopping in again when return this way.

Absolute best place to eat after coming off trail

Woke up and craved some breakfast burritos, so got a coffee at Hiker's and walked down to Burrito Banquet that advertised breakfast around 10AM. Kathleen, the owner, was setting up and informed us that she only does lunch these days and would be open at 11. So we went to the Aztec Mill Museum to kill some time and came back right at 11 to get our craving fulfilled. My daughter said that Kathleen was beautiful with a wonderful smile that shone past the packed canon on her hip. Got 2 steak with X-mas sauce and a bean and cheese. These all came with chips and some great homemade salsa. The lemonade washed it all down before we went to the Canyon to hike Clear Creek Trail.

This place was incredible. If I could give it six stars I would. The lady running it is incredibly friendly and encouraging. I forgot her name already but I won't forget her smile. Perfect place for going after a few days of backpacking.

We stopped by on our way through and it was a pleasant surprise. The lady in charge was real friendly and the customer service was top notch. The dining area out back was nice and clean, the Philmont and Scouting memorabilia were a nice touch as well. All in all would recommend for anyone who finds themselves looking for a bite to eat in the Cimarron area.

Took our Grounds Crew of 11 people here and had a great time as always. The food and lemonade were excellent, the games and outdoor dining are always entertaining and Kathleen made sure that we had plenty of fruit and cookies. Couldn't ask for a better host.

Got here early and she gave us free drinks and a place to chill. Never been to such a homely place. Not to mention the food, incredible.

This place is amazing! The food is great and reasonably priced, but that's just the beginning. Kathleen, the owner, is super friendly, encouraging the patrons to sing and dance to classic music from the 70s. Once you receive your food, you can go behind the food truck and relax at a table, benches, chairs or a futon to eat. There are a variety of free games that you can play for rewards such as refills on your drink or a chocolate. Free cookies and fruit are provided. My group of scouts intended to grab a quick bite and then go on. We ended up spending almost two hours relaxing and playing. This place is a must when visiting Cimarron!

Great place to stop to eat before or after a Philmont trek or training. The owner is very lively and the atmosphere amazing.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE! We were picking your daughter up from a trek and had our dogs with us getting ready to head back to Iowa. It was so nice that she also offers a dog area with water and hey, a bath tub if you wanted to give your dog a bath! If you’re in the area, you cannot pass up this place!

We got there at right after closing and even though she was supposed to close she stayed open and served our party of 17. Great service and awesome food. Definite must visit when in the area.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. after long hours of work, seeing Kathleen's smiling face and incredible sociability and personality, it makes everything better. she never fails to make me laugh and i hope she continues doing so amazing!! the green chili lemonade is phenomenal, perfect blend of spicy and sweet. the food is delicious and hot, well made and overall amazing!!! it's incredible how she makes stupendous food, moisturizing goats milk soap, AND her own decorated chocolate. she is superhuman and if im ever in the area again, ill know where to go!!!

Great place! The owner (Kathleen) was super energetic and nice. The food was very good, and came with a very tasty homemade salsa. The restaurant was also full of fun activities, and there were free drinks and food to anyone who set a high score or did well on those games. To top it off, there were free cookies to all patrons. Very good restaraunt.

We stopped here for lunch with the family. The owner Kathleen is amazing!! Her friendly attitude is the appetizer here for a great tasting lunch. I ordered the totale burrito with green Chile. It has very tasty seasoned beef and smooth refried beans inside a griddled tortilla with lettuce, onions and tomatoes. It really hit the spot. I washed it down with a refreshing home made lemonade. Lots of fun games and eclectic art and decor around made us want to spend all afternoon hanging around.

Burrito Banquet not only has the BEST burritos anywhere, but it has green chili lemonade…oh my! The food here is so good we go through withdrawal in winter until it opens in spring. Service is fabulous and always with a smile. My husband loves her hot sauce, and she gave me the recipe!!! Who does that?!? Kathleen. The atmosphere has almost a carnival atmosphere. The boy scouts love it! Philmont Boy Scout Camp is just a few miles away.

DO NOT MISS THIS!!! Owner is a pure joy and very uplifting! The food is A-mazing!!! Homemade tortillas, pintos & salsa. If you have never tried a green chili burrito, you have not lived!! When I rolled into Cimarron yesterday this was the first place I stopped. I was hungry and craving a burrito. I was not disappointed. The venue was fun and mystical! The owner, Kathleen, was a real kick. I enjoyed her immensely. She took time to talk to this tourist, took my picture with Scout squash, and visited with me when she did not have customers. The seating in the patio is covered and shaded, and people were set at long tables where everybody seemed to visit and socialize. It was really awesome! A come-together experience. Oh and the burritos were awesome too. The music was really good and it's very dog friendly. In fact the dogs even have their own gated play yard with a pool, wash station, and plenty of toys. I can't offer enough praise for this great and fun food truck experience.

I was pretty disappointed when I got there and to my surprise this place was out of food and what I did get was a torta It's was a version of a burrito from the Taco Bell meat without the taco mix. The plus was the lady was super friendly super nice. And very energetic

I go out of my way to get to Burrito Banquet. This is truly the best burrito I’ve ever had! And Kathleen is a sweetheart badass woman - you will LOVE her. And did I mention the BEST lemonade? It is so easy to get to in Cimarron with its turquoise food truck just off the main Santa Fe Trail route! Don’t let the line scare you off - it goes fast and is well worth it. I promise you will be talking about this place and craving this amazing food forever!

This is a great place to stop, grab a bite to eat, and have a cold glass of homemade lemonade. I have been eating here since 1992 each and every time I visit Cimarron. The food is tasty and the salsa is homemade each day. What sets this place apart is the enthusiasm of the owner. It's not every day you get served lunch by a gun toting, Kenny Rogers singing spirit whose soul exudes joy!! A must to visit place on anyone's bucket list.

We don't usually stop for breakfast when we're passing through but we couldn't resist and I'm so glad we stopped! Food was excellent and the owner is a gem. The breakfast burritos, lemonade and tea were excellent.

Come for the delicious and affordable burritos and stay for good vibes. Kathleen is a delightful energy and makes waiting in her line feel like a big hug. It’s immediately apparent the young Philmont staffers come to get their hearts and bellies filled before going back to their often grueling summer job. Kindness matters and it’s wrapped in a burrito by a firey blonde.
