11/10/23- I am disgusted with Charles Withers, the chef/owner of restaurant, C Salt, , classless owner ! My relative gave a me a gift card last year /2022 to C-Salt for a special birthday. I went to use it this November 2023 only to find out the restaurant has closed and stealing my gift card dollars ! That should be illegal , stealing customer un-used dollars ! Massachusetts laws should not allow this monetary theft to happen! I will never go to any new restaurants that former owner of C-Salt /Charles Withers opens up on Cape Cod or in Massachusetts in 2023 or beyond Charles Withers does not deserve any patronage for his deceit to paid in advance customers! I will never by another gift card to a Cape Cod restaurant due to C-Salt screwing us!

My daughter gave us a gift card and we booked our table for August 2. The reservation was confirmed by Open Table. We were really Looking forward to the dinner but we arrived there and it was closed. I don’t know why we weren’t notified. I had provided my contact information. Since we were on vacation to Falmouth, there will be no opportunity to visit this restaurant again. My daughter gave me a generous gift card for my birthday. It was very unfortunate and costly for her and for us.

Just drove by and it is closed. No explanation on website (which says it is open). No info from calling. Thankfully I read similar reviews and did not bank on it. Sad. It used to be so good before the new owners.

Made reservations 10 days ago…showed up along with many others whom had a reservation just to see a sign on the door that they are closed. Never again. Stay away!

Update on my previous review. Used to be our fav restaurant in Falmouth. I have no update on the food as we did not have a chance to dine even thou had a reservation. A person called confirming our reservation for Monday 7/24 for 5pm outside. We drove an hour to have what could of be great meal on a cape to find out restaurant was closed! no one called us back to notify that they had issues and will not be opening up. Unacceptable customer service. Wont ever be back to a place that used to bring such great summer memories!! Horrible management.

Definitely not fine dining. Overpriced for what was served. However, fried oysters were tasty. Sadly will not be returning.

Just had one of the best dinners! Tried the tuna tartar, lobster pasta and the half duck with bad buns. Everything was amazing and fresh. Thank you! Will come again!

The new owners of C Salt do not deserve the 5 star rating of the old. Disappointed to say just not the same. My former favorite restaurant is now my least favorite.

Used to be noticeably better a couple years ago

We are 4 senior citizens who arrived on time for a 5:30 outside table reservation. There were no other inside reservations All the outside tables were available. The manager insisted that we had to sit at the table for four which was the only table in the sun, despite. there being four other tables for four in the shade. He would not budge, despite our being 75 years old with health issues. We therefore left. The manager then reported us to Open Table as No Shows. This is how this restaurant treats its customers.

Good, but not amazing. Food quality (taste, cook, and texture) we’re all top notch. Presentation left a lot to be desired. Wait staff was uncertain about some menu items (unable to describe dish) and the younger bus people were gruff and untrained. The day was suffocatingly hot and the indoor temperature matched (a/c didn’t keep up, plus having an exposed kitchen didn’t help). So while the food was very good, the extras didn’t match the menu prices.

Terrible terrible terrible! The $52 fisherman's catch had no taste. All the seafood was dumped altogether in a bowl. Absolutely unappealing. My husband hated it. I ordered the $28 cheese burger that the waiter described as something special- NOT! Just a regular cheeseburger tasted like I cooked it myself. That came with overcooked greasy potato chips which I couldn't eat. They would do better by giving a bag of Cape Cod chips. That was all for my dinner. My sister-in-law's said her duck was good but two of the sides were weird. The rice & greens which she couldn't eat. Also, her dinner was served on a metal baking pan so unattractive. Cost $62? This was alot of money for very disappointing food. Owner/cchef Charles Withers hhappened to ask us how was everything and I told him exactly how bad it was. He offered his apologies, gave me his card & said next meal was on him. Don't think so. We'll never go back. He should of returned our money for this disappointing expensive dinners. Out $150.

My family and I would stay at Falmouth every year for a week around the 4th of July, and we've been coming to C Salt ever since it opened in 2012. Many of the years, we would come multiple times during the week because their food was amazing - hoisin wings, roasted Brussel sprouts, calamari, pork belly bites, steak frites, their drinks. All amazing and cooked to perfection. 0 complaints. Easy 5/5 stars. First off, I will give them credit for being able to fit us as a party of 10 on such a short notice. But because of how inconsistent their food is compared to their prices, last night unfortunately may be the last time we'll be coming. When we came last year, we noticed that the food quality is not what we remembered, but we chocked it off as just being a fluke. This year, we had the same issue of inconsistent quality. The wonton soup was very salty. The butter spread for the focaccia was very salty. The cacio e pepe was good and the pasta was nicely al dente. The heritage sausage pasta dish was very underwhelming since we thought there would be chunks of sausage rather than the miniscule bits that were hard to recognize. The chocolate olive oil mousse was nice and rich. Their drinks were ok. Overall, I guess it's a nice place to go for your first time, but if you've been coming here before July 2021, which was when they changed owners, you'll notice that this place has gone down in quality and made the portions much smaller, which does not justify their extremely high prices ($25 for half a cup of pasta is not worth it; $9 for 4 salty wontons also not worth it). We miss the old C Salt and will be eating instead at the Flying Bridge, where their portions are huge and their quality is great and consistent, all for a reasonable price.

Holy moly ravioli!!! This place is a 10/10 all around. From food to service you will not be disappointed.

My fish was tasteless, it had zero flavor or even salt. Its also very over priced. It gets two stars because my family enjoyed their meals and the waiting staff were polite and friendly.

There is no way to call this place. Must use open table. Wanted to report that I got violently I’ll after my last meal, but can’t get a hold of anyone so here it is for all to read. I believe the salad made me sick. Please check your lettuce and handlers.

Food could be a bit better with a bit more thought. Focaccia bread could be warm, hangar steak not cooked to correct temperature, and a little too gamey. I'm being a bit nitpicky, but otherwise I'm pretty happy.

Loved the atmosphere and decor. The drinks had awesome presentation and were yummy but a little weak. Had the focaccia bread as an appetizer. It was delicious. Got the hanger steak and chicken parmigiana. Both were very, very good. Dessert was chocolate mousse and it was also delicious. The waiter was awesome and we felt relaxed and never rushed. It was a little expensive but worth putting in our rotation. We both enjoyed this restaurant very much and will be back.

This used to be my favorite restaurant. Best burger I ever had, and homemade fries to die for! Expensive, but worth it! Now they have gotten rid of the French fries. Your $26 burger comes with nothing. I can’t tell you how disappointing this is. I brought a friend from out of town here and I was totally embarrassed to bring her for such an expensive burger that comes with nothing. And we ordered the focaccia, which I usually love. This night it was sourdough bread instead. 3 teeny tiny pieces for 2 people (you couldn’t have given 4 slices so each person could have 2?), and at a cost of $8. I was hoping this was a one time fluke, but stopped in tonight and found the $26 burger doesn’t come with fries. You can get tater tots for an additional charge. No thanks. We went elsewhere and won’t be back. I am truly disappointed by this because although I’m not an adventurous eater, I lloved every burger creation that the chef came up with. I will now go to Tap City Grille for a burger, that’s almost as good, and comes with homemade fries, for $18.

Visited on 5-6-23. Phoebie is the best! Ask for her if she's still there. Amazing service. Really felt welcomed. Fast and friendly with great recommendations. Great options on the menu. Order a couple small plates and a large plate or two and you'll be feeling good. Fun cocktail options and big wine selection.

Still thinking about the focaccia

Great place to eat when in Falmouth, MA. We did some Glamping and got a recommendation for dinning at this place. Both the food and the staff are amazing! It is a bit pricey, but worth it. Definitely a must next time we visit.

This was the most delicious, flavorful meal my husband and I have had in a long time. Every bite was amazing! The quality of ingredients, how the flavors were arranged made every taste something to truly enjoy! We started with an appetizer, continued with dinner then topped it off with dessert. Typically we wouldn’t have the three courses, but couldn’t resist since each dish was unbelievable! Highly recommend trying it for yourself. One talented chef!

I went on a first date last Saturday to C-Salt, and neither one of us had been there before. We were extremely charmed when we walked in the front door, as it is a very small quaint restaurant. The lighting and the mood was great for a first date dinner. The service was incredible, and the food was outstanding. This will be a spot that him and I will frequent often. Thank you!

My wife and I wanted to try a new place. C-salt was exactly what the doctor ordered. It was an icy/slick ride in, but we had the place to ourselves. Food was phenomenal. I traveled to Seattle once and was on a mission to find a fish delicious as the branzino special was tonight. The app was delicious and so was my wife’s shrimp scampi. The staff was exceptional, especially our waitress….she was on top of every detail and new exactly when to update/check in on our dining experience.

Good vibes, good food, great service! We will be back soon!

As usual impeccable service and food! Chef is never disappointing and always puts forth exceptionally tasty food! However I look forward to the service from an A+ server named Dion! He’s sure to give you the impeccable service that he has given are family ( however you must request for him) and you will enjoy this classy welcoming 5 star cuisine in a warming but elegant ambience

We went in between Christmas and NYE, for a special "nice restaurant" outing. We made sure to reserve in advance and got a good table. It's not the first time we're going there, so not surprised about the decor or the cozy setting, the open kitchen on one side, all good, kind of cool. The food was very good, as always, though the menu was less board than in the Summer... So, all good for food. Service OK. Then the bill arrived, and luckily we looked it over. Because 20% Tip was already on it, although the line "Tip" was still included. We don't think it's OK to automatically add the Tip for a party of 3. Large party, it makes sense. And then have the extra line "Tip" under. So, what should that be, Tip over (Total + Tax + Tip)? I'm sure quite a few people don't see that included tip. Well, we didn't appreciate the trick. At this point, we don't really want to go back because of this detail specifically. The food is good, but not worth this kind of back-stabbing.

The gnocchi was transcendent. The poke bowl was almost too intensely flavorful, but flavorful nonetheless (could benefit from being less saucy). My fiancée is still rhapsodizing about the the sole meuniere. And Dion was a lovely server! Would love to see more plant-based menu items.

Love the small atmosphere, clean and best of all, the food was phenomenal! Only downside was the server. Took a bit to come to the table, studied each one of our IDs for a minute each, seemed very awkward. When it came to ordering food, she was very pushy about the steak specials ($70, $100) we ended up with two steak frites and one sole and she had the nerve to say “so not the steak special?” Again food was awesome. At the end, she asked us about desserts and we all declined. Her attitude really changed like she was BS at us. For a $300 tab for 3 people, I think we did okay! But I guess not.

New years dinner and our 20th anniversary made reservations a month in advance we were seated at the smallest back corner table looking at a wall😡. Had a delicious shrimp appetizer, ordered the rib eye $100.00 for 2 was delicious, disappointed in sides(French fries😡) and a small Caesar to split, should have been plated separately they gave a shallow bowl for our dinner to serve our selves no separate bowl for the salad weird eating steak out of a bowl. We both ordered the dark chocolate moose was delicious but no whip cream and served in a mason jar😡 they also server water in jars which I did not like. Overall food good I would not order the rib eye again, nicer side dishes should have been served, nicer dishes & glass wear bill was over $200. expected it to be nicer

Everything about the dinner was perfect. We sat at the bar and were well taken care of by Mark. The wings - Asian flavor with perfect spice - were delicious (and a larger portion than you would expect). The smash burger was the best burger I have ever had and the fries were thin and crispy just as we like.

Auf unserem New England Roadtrip war das mein Lieblingsrestaurant! Klein aber fein! Wer ein ruhiges Restaurant sucht, sollte in ein anderes gehen. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung und sehr sehr gutes Essen.

A small, informable place with a surprising number of asian dishes. We enjoyed the slightly hot sesame wings as an app with a reasonably priced bottle of Calif. white wine. My husband praised his steak and fries but I thought my pho soup was a little dull. I was thirsty for the rest of the night. My companions liked their varied asian dishes, as well. The mousse for desert was thick and rich.

The service was great. A d the food was awesome.

We had such a nice dinner with friends here tonight. We had the flat iron steaks, the baked chicken, upon the recommendation of our GREAT server, and the chicken parm! All was excellent. The cocktails were amazing! The manager was great! The three chefs working were doing so as well as I’ve ever seen! Everything came out very fresh and very hot. For a small place this was a great experience!!!! We will go back for sure.

So we arrived early for a 7:30 reservation. Sat immediately. Instant food vibe going on with the open kitchen & bar area spilling out into the dining room. Gotta say we were not sure of the decor but we were not here to talk about fabrics and color pallets. The menu is tight in my favorite king of way. Like I wanted more than half of everything and was forced to settle. Now I’m super luck because my wife likes to share finally, took like 16 years but it happened. Oysters Rochafeller delicious, salad was super fresh and delicious, focaccia and dipping evoo was deep in flavor. The wife had a lobster pasta dish that surprised us both with the unique flavor of tomato and cheese and the fresh pasta. Now comes the kicker. My Chicken Parma should not have been served. Period. The cutlet was burned and inedible. Our server who was fantastic quickly took it away. And we spilt the yummy lobster plate and ended with the 66% cacao mousse. Unbelievable. Will return maybe if we are ever back the neighborhood. Visiting from the far yonder side of Connecticut. Cheers!

I really loved the food here. Wonderful bread and delicious sashimi. All the rest of my party were very happy with their meals and there was a nice busy atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

Pre Covid this was one of the best restaurants on the upper cape and one of our favorites..After our visit tonight, we will not return. Upon arrival, we noticed the current menu was very different from what was posted in their website and very disappointing. The transition to Asian flavors was not good- sorry they have lost their seafood, Italian fare focus. The pad Thai is inedible with the salt. The chicken was a big fried cutlet with ranch salad on top not fine dining fare. Service was fine, but food pretty bad.

We had a terrible experience, made worse because we were celebrating my in-laws’ 50th anniversary. We’d been there before and the food and service were fine. So we were stunned at how bad this night was. Meals and drinks came out late, burger was under-cooked, and coffee came out tepid and undrinkable. And the service was awful. It was as if no one had any experience with a large party, or they were under-staffed, or there wasn’t a manager working. We won’t be returning.

DO NOT GO HERE. My partner and I are Black and were staying in Falmouth for holiday at his family home. He loved C Salt Wine Bar & Grille, having eaten there several times in the past while on holiday, so we booked a reservation for a date night. The entire experience was memorable due the extreme racism and unpleasantness of the host. When we arrived, the host did not greet us with the warmth he greeted other patrons: he told us we could sit outside and order from the bar while we waited for our table to be ready. We waited for 20 minutes past our reservation, despite arriving early to the restaurant, ordered drinks (which arrived late despite us hearing that they were ready at the bar and several waiters not going to check on them), and watched white patrons get seated before us. A white couple was seated next to us and got their drinks from the bar first, were asked whether they wanted to sit indoors or outdoors, then were shown inside to a table. We were still waiting outside at that point. Finally, the host said our table was ready and showed us to a table outside near what looked like a bussing station. I asked if we could sit inside and the host said he would check. He finally returned, and showed us inside to a stool top table near the door. It was fairly uncomfortable and we had waited about 30 minutes at this point, so I moved to a nearby, open regular table so I could also put my bag down. The host came back, told us we couldn't sit there, that we had "booked an outside reservation" (we did not), that the table was only for parties of 4 and continued to berate us so much that other patrons looked on the situation. I said that the other white couple was seated at the exact same type of table despite being a party of 2, and he said that it was because they made a reservation. I reminded him that we also had a reservation. He insisted we move, so I finally stood and calmly said we would leave. On the way out, the host called after us saying we needed to pay for the drinks we had not even had the chance to enjoy. I informed him that we would not pay and we walked out without further conversation. If you are a person of color, someone who is an ally to people of color, or simply someone who does not enjoy the potential for abuse during a date night, I suggested skipping this restaurant. We ended up going to Bluefins and the entire meal was excellent -- I recommend the carrot cake and chicken bao.

Don’t know if 5 stars are enough for this gem! Starting with amazing cocktails, followed by the best ricotta gnocchi we have ever eaten. Light little pillows of deliciousness. Very inventive menu-flavorful and nicely plated. Will definitely make the trip back.

Food is great. Apps, entrees, drinks and dessert were delicious. Server Allison was terrific. Prices are a little high but the quality is there too. You get what you pay for. It's a nice special occasion place. Menu has something for everyone. We will be back.

Delicious interesting classic and fusion dishes. Service was wonderful. Couldn’t have been happier with this meal. I’m from California and I love how much fresh produce was incorporated and how elevando welcoming the dishes were.

Everything was fantastic. This restaurant is slightly off the main drag and beach scene in Falmouth… but well worth it! Food was fresh and delicious with options for everyone. They were super accommodating for a vegan & vegetarian request which is hard (REALLY HARD) to find in the cape. Watermelon salad was my favorite. Also - while many restaurants do that weird waitlist seating where even though you put your name in, you end up waiting 45+ mins… c-salt was able to get our group of 4 in on a Wednesday at 7:45 outside immediately! Service was excellent. Go here if you like good food & high end cocktails/wine. Worth the money. All the restaurants on the main drag may as well be beachside McDonald’s and unless you want to watch your sushi sit for 15 minutes on the counter or a lady force feed their son a hamburger… (I mean.. you do you?) c-salt is the place to be!

Good restaurant but never take the papardella with lobster as there will be only pork fat instead of lobster. Cost of 36$ for pasta with pork fat. Big mistake. The chef agreed but there was no compensation at all.

Excellent Food and Service, Camila's performance deserves 10 stars. Her attention to detail is superv. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to return!

We made reservations weeks in advance for a table of 9, we end up in the parking lot in a tent next to the road, the chairs were uncomfortable. I had the chicken parm, it was good, this place is on the expensive side, so know that before you go. I personally do not think that it was worth all that money to sit outside in a covered tent with the wind blowing, and watching cars speed by, not my idea of dining atmosphere, especially for the money we spent for 9 people eating dinner. If we were dining outdoors with an ocean view, than I would have said it was worth the money! Everybody liked the meal they ordered, so no complaints there. Food gets 4 stars, atmosphere get 2 stars, so it averages out to 3 stars for me. BTW, our waitress was great.

Unfortunately, we had a mediocre meal. We should’ve known by the dying plants by the hostess stand outside that they are not paying attention to the details at this place.

My family and I are vacationing in Cape Cod for a week. So glad we made a reservation here for early in the week because we knew to go back before the end. Everything was amazing- the wedge salad, wings, burrata with peaches and prosciutto, fries, and entrees. Fantastic!

This is hands down our favorite spot in the area. The food is always so insanely good, we have been many times and have always been blown away by the menu, the drinks and the service!

My favorite spot in Falmouth. The food is esquisset. This was my second visit for our anniversary. Henry, our host, took great care of us and really made our evening special. Thank you C Salt and thank you Henry.

We enjoyed our meal and would recommend C Salt. We hadn't dined here in several years and wanted to try it again. The lobster and shrimp Szechuan was the highlight entree. Fresh seafood, great pasta and a nice spicy kick. The Cacio E Pepe was good, but we couldn't taste any truffle flavor. The beef carpaccio appetizer was nice, but the thick slices were somewhat overwhelmed by the mustard and horseradish. The cornflake sundae dessert was more 'ice' than creamy. Nice wine list.

Cacio e Pepe was amazing as was beet salad and pork chop. Lauren at the bar was a delightful server and was so incredibly kind. She was on top of her game and gave excellent suggestions. Hope to be back again over the summer - hope they keep up with the crowds

Came here for father's day. English breakfast was delicious, especially the sausage and tater tots. I had the "brunch burger" which I ate in record time. I will say, if you have a choice, get tater tots instead of the fries, the tots are head and shoulders better (but the fries aren't bad, either). Haven't had the full dinner menu yet but next time in town, I'll give that a shot.

Our last night in Falmouth we were happy to get a table at C Salt based on prior reviews and their online menu, as a change from Main Street Falmouth places. We sat inside, and have to say the tables/chairs seemed a bit beat up, and the staff kept crossing the room to go downstairs for ingredients it seemed. Our waitstaff were fine but we noted that at the next table the waitress offered the specials but ours did not. The menu is interesting but l’d like to think refinements consistent with the prices will materialize eg less heavy with the sauces, less pasta-to-lobster ratio, less olive oil in chocolate mousse. We wish them well and would consider to try them again on a future trip.

Kayla our waitress was extremely attentive and guided us through the menu. My wife and I split the Gem Green Godess Salad and a roasted beet appetizer. I had the bone in pork chop which had a balsamic apple bit glaze. My wife had the bountiful lobster fettuccine. We split an asparagus side and chocolate mousse for desert. Drink menu and wine list was great!

Two very good dinners, last Friday and last night. Great, fresh and tasty cooking. Roasted beets salad, grilled yellowfin tuna with Thai julienne, steak with frites, heritage pork chop…. Good selection of wines by the glass supports pairing with ranging dishes.

Worst dining experience ever. No friendly greeting by hostess on arrival. Seated at very small table in back next to bathroom and entry to a function room, so was constantly jostled as staff and patrons squeezed by. Asked to move, to bar or another table as there were many empty seats at 6 pm. Hostess said there was nothing else available. Watched the empty seats at bar and table for the next hour we were there. Ordered the gem salad with green goddess dressing and salmon. Dressing was white and tasted exactly like Caesar over a plate of romaine lettuce. Waitress insisted it was the gem salad . For final insult, when we got the bill I was charged for swordfish, not a menu option and charge was $6 more than the salmon. Waitress tried to explain that away too, but after some time received a correct bill. So disappointed as I was hopeful for a lovely meal for our anniversary.

This is our favorite restaurant in the Cape. It had been a while but so glad we were able to return to this great place. And WOW, we were greeted with the same positive and welcoming vibe as before. Prepare yourself to be blown away by an incredible meal. The chef/owner is from The French Laundry in CA and has created a wonderful relaxed armory with exquisitely prepared food. We had the oysters and tuna tartare appetizers. Main courses were the tuna and swordfish dishes- both the BEST we’ve ever had. Mark the bartender was personable and attentive. All of the staff was friendly and had a vibe that they enjoyed working there.

Four of us had dinner there last night and it was excellent. The portions were larger than expected, the flavors were robust, and the ingredients were fresh. The only bummer is you’re unable to order appetizers then dinner, “the chef” will only except complete orders. When you’re paying $80-100 per person for appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts it’s awkward that they put this constraint on you. We will definitely visit again.

C Salt was divine!! Everything we ate and drank could not have been better - if you’re looking for a nice dinner out in Falmouth, look no further. Make sure to call and make reservations well in advance and an extra bonus if you can have Emily as your server. She was the best!

My husband and I loved this place! The staff were all so sweet and friendly and the food was amazing! Everything from the salads to dessert were so good!

Excellent restaurant. I have gone three times with my family and have never been disappointed. I have had the tuna steak twice and the steak once. I also have celiac disease and they were always able to accommodate me. They have a great wine list. Clearly they have a Sommelier working for them. I live over 2 hours away and try to make the special trip once a year. Make sure you make a reservation! If you don’t they may be able to squeeze you in when they open or close but don’t count on it!

This place was amazing!!! Every single thing I ate from the appetizer to the entree and dessert was delicious! We got blue fin tuna and I got the tuna for dinner and they were phenomenal!!! I would definitely come here again!
