Not really good but service staff were nice

Been going to Cactus for several years. Always good and getting better. We love their salads me especially the Cali salad. I have has burritos and enchiladas there as well. All good. Quick cheerful service with plenty of refills and just the right amount of attention. Go back? Darn tooting!

This place is awesome! It feels small but the food makes up for it. They start you with chips and salsa (if you like cilantro salsa then you will love it like we did). Also, the chips taste like store bought chips but we love those. I had the Cali Burrito. It was sooooo good! The steak was so tender and everything was seasoned very well. My wife had the chicken quesadilla and it was huge (about the size of a medium pizza) and it was delicious. Our picky kid had the kids burrito (big size for kid) and loved it. The waiter took care of us with refills and always checked on us. If you are near this place, then stop by for dinner. (You won’t regret it!) PS: they put brown paper over the table to clean it up faster. My wife hates the crinkle noise of the paper, but if you’re weird like her, then that should be your only complaint. lol

We love Cactus Flower and usually just do take out. The mango shrimp is always good. I was a little disappointed today. I pre-ordered my meal to be picked up at 530. When I got there it was not ready which was fine I get it but when I received my food the tostada was mushy the shell wasn't even crisp like it had been sitting a while and the mango shrimp didn't have mango on two of them. They didn't look swamped so not sure what was going on this time.

The food was loaded with decent ideas and poor execution. Too bad, because it sounded delicious. The cactus flower bowl was swimming with bean juice (maybe a little bit of an exaggeration), though the line dressing and chicken were very tasty. The Santa Fe enchiladas had very little shredded beef, and weirdly little flavor despite despite the delicious sounding description. Our server was great, btw. Fairly limited options for dietary restrictions, which is unusual for Mexican restaurants.

I came here for old times sake like we always have. We've been visiting Navarre for over 20 years. This is the place for good Mexican style food with a chef's twist. It's creative and good but found a little lacking for lunch as far as carnivore options or diabetic friendly. This resulted in me trying out the Cali Salad with Asada. I ordered extra meat as well for the upcharge It was good but did not feel very full. The salad was really good but next time I'd order it without rice. I'd recommend both dressings on the side to try... That caught me off guard. Burrito bowls are an exception but you'd have to remove several things. Just solid meat options were a bit lacking. Tortilla Soup is a large bowl and don't think of anything like McAlister's tortilla soup. This is very much a homemade style straight out of Mexico. I thought it was good but others prefer it creamy. This was very soupy but tasty I thought. Burrito bowls look beautiful and I know my wife loved hers. All in all I'd still come back just because of the service and everything is pretty fresh. Their Avocados were pretty good.

I genuinely want to know how this restaurant has such a high rating. I’m not convinced anyone who likes this place has actually eaten Mexican food once in their lives. The chips and salsa are store bought. The rice was instant Spanish rice. Everything was bland. I really wanted to like this place but it was such a let down. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Absolutely delicious mahi mahi tacos, steak quesadillas, carne asada street tacos, and pina colada margaritas!

Simply the best. I've had most of the menu, and it's all excellent. Come hungry, the portions are large. Two adults could share one meal. For you regulars, they've kept the most popular plates, and added some really great new ones. The bowls are fresh and very tasty, especially with some salsa that is constantly being refilled.

The wait staff was nice. The food was average. There was no music playing which makes for an awkward dining experience. A man came in before 8:30 pm to be seated. The host told him they were not seating anyone else at that time. The man mentioned that their sign says they are open until nine. The host told him that, "they make us put that, but it isn't always the case." He asked if they still had soup available. The host told him that the kitchen was closed. So it sounds like they close early if there's not enough people, so heads up. Unless the food improves, I don't think I'll go back.

Worst Mexican restaurant I have ever went to in my life. Came to get a quick bite to eat with my wife while we are on vacation and needless to say the food here needs some serious help. The only pleasant thing about this experience was our waiter, very attentive person.

Ordered pickup tonight. Street tacos, Cactus Flower Combo, Children’s Burrito. Seriously the best takeout food we have had in a long time. Most times takeout isn’t as good as dine-in in our experience, but this was really great. Shrimp tacos were fantastic. Tortilla soup was awesome. Salsa was fresh and tasty too. Well deserved 5 stars!

Food is decent, menu is limited and portions are small. I'm a bigger guy, so I left kind of hungry. I think this place is more suited to women and smaller people who want a semi-fancy lunch. It would be a good place for a work lunch if you have people from out of town etc. Not necessarily financially feesible to eat here on a regular basis, it's a bit more pricey than I'd spend everyday. It tries to be a bit more fancy than I expect a Mexican (type) establishment to be. It's kind of a mix of Mexican and local favories. Mahi Mahi tacos are good - go on Taco Tuesday and order them al a carte. Store bought (bag) tortilal chips - not my fav. Overall not bad but it's a tiny restaurant that doesn't really know what it wants to be and comes off a bit too fancy for me

I stumbled upon this hidden jewel. I gave it a shot and I'm extremely glad I did. The carne asada tacos were out of this world. Y'all have definitely got to try this place. Fantastic food, atmosphere and the employees were extremely nice. Give this local, small business a try, y'all won't regret it.

Husband and I were visiting Navarre for vacation. Found this place and it was amazing. The portions will not leave you hungry. The food is fresh and delectable. Love their take on the Mexican dishes. Mahi Mahi tacos are our favorite!!

We used Cactus Flower Cafe for our beach wedding and i could not recommend them enough! Picking food for your wedding day, out of town, is hard, but they were so responsive to all my questions. The food was delicious and every single person raved about it. Will def visit when we are in town again!!

I'm not even sure how to start off this review. If I could give no stars I would. We came here for dinner on a Monday night based off the Google reviews of others which now I'm wondering how in the world anyone would give this place a 4.5 out of 5. Upon waiting to be seated we noticed how the restaurant looked. Tables are covered in brown paper and things did not seem very welcoming. The salsa is scooped out of a bowl behind the host stand and chips are served out of bag that is kept in a cardboard box under the host stand. Our server was very kind and upbeat. We wanted to order queso to go with our chips but they claimed they were out of queso. How does a Mexican restaurant not have a staple on hand? She brought our drinks, chips and salsa and we noticed the chips resembled tostitos that you can buy from your local grocery store. The salsa was very bland and the guacamole had no flavor as well and very so chunky it was hard to scoop. My husband even asked for salt and pepper to try to save the salsa and gauc. We ordered queso bites as an app. We thought the concept was great but again lacked flavor and no jalapenos were present inside them as explained on the menu. The saving grace was the spicy ranch that was served with with them. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos because everyone else that left previous reviews thought they were great. My mahi mahi was way over fried and oil temps had to be to high since the fish was so dry. The "corn tortillas" are mission yellow corn shells from a restaurant supplier. They are not homemade and texture was off for what I expected out of good tacos. The rice was mushy and over cooked and tasted like instant Spanish rice. Where is the love here? Flavor? Passion? This restaurant was a huge letdown. This does not resemble any food mexican I've ever had. Save yourself the $100 dining bill and go to taco bell. At least there they actually throw their pre-made chips in a fryer to warm them up. I would not recommend dining here.

My Dad came into town and we decided to try this place. Chips were just from a bag, food wasn't that good. More then half was trashed and it was super expensive, especially for Mexican food. We will not be returning.

Food was out in minutes. Staff was neat and friendly. Cool vibes environment as well as very clean. Had the enchiladas and they were on point!

Basic Mexican cuisine. Tortillas are store bought, basic. Chips are store bought. Red chili is terrible, there’s no taste of chili in it, no flavor just salty food. Very very basic food that you can get from Walmart and put together. (Not Authentic Mexican Cuisine) if you’re craving authentic Mexican food I do not recommend this place.

We have been here twice now. We tried different meals each trip. All of the food has had a clean/fresh taste to it. The queso is some of the best that I've ever had.

I love this restaurant! Food is always great and they make modifications for gluten sensitivities. It’s tough to find a place where my family can all eat and we always end up going here around the holidays. I always get the huevos rancheros without cheese and with their lime sauce as the substitutions. It’s so good! I also really enjoy their salsa!

The food and service is always on spot. This is the only Mexican resturant I find myself going out of the way to go to.

Mango shrimp salad - so yummy. I'm planning on going back next week!

To start off when we first walked in the vibe was weird. I think I'm just not a fan of how their dining room is set up. We started off with the guacamole bc they advertise it as freshly made. It is indeed freshly made but it has no taste. There’s no hint of lime, onion or anything really. It’s also extremely chunky. I felt like they didn’t even mix it up. It tasted bland and it was very disappointing. I ordered the steak street tacos and my husband got the pork carnita ones. The steak was very good quality but they put guacamole on the bottom of the taco which isn’t what I wanted. I think the menu was a little misleading about them having that on the bottom of the tortilla. Overall the steak tacos were just okay, but the carnitas were terrible. They tasted like burnt charcoal and were absolutely disgusting. I took two bites of one of my husbands and said absolutely not. He said his first taco didn’t taste like that but then the other two did. I wish he would’ve told me because I would’ve said something (he doesn’t like me saying anything bc it makes him feel bad lol) aka why I’m writing this review instead. Pinto smash beans and rice were overall just alright. The service was okay. Hostess was nice and even ran my husband’s card back out to him when he left it in the restaurant. Jake was nice and did a good job. Nothing above and beyond but it’s not like we expect that either. He could’ve paid more attention to us because we sat for a few minutes waiting on the check while he talked with the hostess, but not a big issue at all. Probably won’t be back.

I have Celiac decease. Everything is made from scratch. The staff was extremely helpful and made me comfortable in knowing that what I was eating was safe for me.

We recently found a great little place in Navarre, Florida - the Cactus Flower Cafe. We've eaten at their other location in Pace before and really liked it. This one in Navarre was a surprise find. It's a small place like the one in Pace, but it has really tasty food. I had a green enchilada and my wife had a tostada. Both were really good. The best part was watching our one-year-old grandson happily eat his chicken quesadilla. The only problem was that the food took a long time to come out, about 30 minutes, even though there weren't many people there. But, the food was good and the place was nice, so it was worth the wait. In short, the Cactus Flower Cafe in Navarre, Florida is a great spot for yummy Mexican food. It's a small place, but the food is big on taste. It took a bit long for the food to come, but I'd still say it's worth a visit.

The Enchilada verde with chicken and black beans was delish. My husband was disappointed in his chile relleno. The chicken Quesadilla was very good. Guacamole is still great! Our waiter was super friendly and very good with refills and in general.

We are from Utah, and every time we visit our daughter here in Navarre we have to go to the Cactus Flower. The Corn chowder is sooooo good, and so is the Pork Medallions. Josh our server is fantastic, he thinks ahead, we always get great service here, but Josh is awesome!!

Upon paying for our meal and leaving the restaurant, the server took it upon himself to accost me in the parking lot about the size of the tip I had left. I have been a regular customer for years, and have never been so disrespected at this establishment. Regardless of your feelings on a “fair tip”, arguing with customers on matters of gratuity does not create an environment that entices people to return.

Delicious food and great service. This is not your typical Mexican place, the food is inventive and fresh. I had the shrimp tacos, and they were excellent. Husband had the chicken quesadilla, and it was huge and tasty. They only have beer and wine, but they have margaritas made with wine instead of tequila - I know, sounds weird, but I tried it and it was really good! Had two, in fact :) Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely go again if back in Navarre.

Used to come here quite often for the food, but just not the same service/friendliness as to the previous owners, especially with the kids they have working in there now! They lost a faithful customer and will unfortunately never go back...

We came last month on vacation, food is soooo good! We will be back in May for some more good food.

I have eaten at Cactus Flower since the beginning. Each time they expanded the food got worse. Finally we found the Navarre Cactus Flower and became reacquainted with the delicious food of those early days. Tonight I must report this place has declined to the level of the rest The food was cold, hard soft shells, worst flan. Just awful. Guess I will go Japanese foods. BEK

Our go to place when we 1st hit Navarre! Been going for 10 years...never a bad meal! Generous with chips and salsa when u 1st sit down! They use FRESH guacamole not jar or can product ans lots of it! They started serving chicken pazoli soup...outstanding a cup will satisfy your desire for soup a bowl will more then make you very happy! I had the steak quasadia very spicy in spots...but definitely delicious! Rice and beans always top notch! Service is always top notch! In the last year I believe under new owner...Johny Houstons restaurant bought them out! New menu items have been added! This is my wife's favorite eatery in Navarre and always the 1st we go to the next day after driving 1,500 miles from Northern New Hampshire!

This was definitely a hidden gem! The chips and salsa had such a unique taste but still tasted amazing. My husband tried the chili soup and it was delicious. The street tacos were great but I was not a fan of the dry rice. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food we received.

Great place for a quick dinner. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Nice decor, great food and service all at a reasonable price. There will be leftovers! The chips and salsa are really good. So are the entrees. My wife got the street tacos with Carne asada. I got the Cali burrito with steak. Both were ample servings, had excellent seasoning with a little kick from cerano peppers 🌶. No room for dessert. Service was excellent and attentive without being troublesome.

Love love love this place! I highly recommend the chimichanga dinner w/shredded chicken, add peppers & onions, with black beans, and get an extra side of queso for it. Get a large spicy queso, medium spicy, for the chips. Their queso is so unique and flavorful! It's not like what you get anywhere else around here. My food arrived hot with a nice plated presentation. The staff are friendly, the service was courteous, and everything was prompt.

A little spot in a shopping strip with some FANTASTIC flavored Mexican food! The Pork street tacos were AHMAZING with great sides, a lot of tasty extras that made them hard to put down!! YUM!!! The Homemade Margarita with Wine was surprisingly DELICIOUS! CAN'T wait to return for more choices to try!! Must stop in or order to go!!

it is not what I am used to as far as normal, Mexican fare, but the food is always delicious, the help is cheerful and accurate, and the tab is reasonable. I have only been twice once having chicken burritos and another time having the corn chowder. I love them both, and I am looking forward to trying everything on their menu :-) Tamales are a specialty item and they only have them once in a while - hope I get to try them.

Spent 5 days in Florida is this was by far the best place I ate. I tried a lot of the local spots in Navarre but this one was the cleanest, had the best service and food.

To start off the atmosphere snd service is good. Friendly staff and relatively clean place for a Friday night. Interesting how they put brown paper over the tables, it gets changed between between diners. The food was okay nothing crazy. I got the Cali Burrito, Steak Quesadilla, and Queso Dip. Along with a side of free chips and salsa.

Great food, friendly staff, fun time.

Small chain with four locations. The food was the star of this experience with the bowl and nachos being above average for the price point. Loud diners and overall noise level. Slow service and 22 minutes from placing order to receiving our meal. And strange setup as tables have white tablecloths but those are then covered by brown paper which is changed out between seatings.

Best Flautas ever! Queso cheeze sauce wasn't too good, and I wasn't a fan of beans or rice 😕. I'd go back for those flautas with that amazing avocado dip tho! 😋

I usually have low expectations for Mexican style restaurants because the food is not flavorful or just not good but this restaurant was really good! I ordered the burrito bowl and the flavors were so well mixed and balanced throughout the dish! The interior of the restaurant is well maintained and clean! Prefect for lunch or a nice dinner date! 10/10 recommended and would love to comeback next time we visit!

The Food was great, good sized portions and family friendly restaurant. Only downside was that it took two hours to complete eating from time we were seated. We didn't eat slow and didn't drink any alcohol. Biggest part of wait was for the food. However, they kept us stocked with salsa and chips while we waited.

This restaurant used to be amazing! Went tonight and was very disappointed. I used to get the tortilla soup because it was my favorite. Tonight I got the soup and it tasted so salty!

Half of the experience of vacations is trying restaurants we don't have at home. I love all Mexican food and tex Mex. I can't believe how misleading these other reviews are. The service and atmosphere are fine, the queso is..... I'm not sure what the heck out is but it's not queso, I'm not even sure there was cheese in it. It looked like gravy and had an odd texture like it was broken. Then the chips, they are literally bagged tostitos. Over $9 for a kids corn dog with some fritos and then you still get to pay $3 for a kids drink.
