After a bad experience at Caet a few months ago we decided to try it again. The food was ok, but we waited approximately 1 hour between appetizer and main course. The restaurant was not full. Once again Caet disappoints.

Had reservations for our anniversary in August, and have been to this restaurant before. Service was okay till....we were done and the other waiter grabbed a plate our waiter was holding and then proceeded to reached through her arms to grab our silverware. I was quite surprised at the actions of this other waiter. We felt like our time was up and we better get going. Very disappointing.

Excellent food and service. Great menu with the best app around of Jackson Hot Catfish! Good wine selection and drinks. Fresh oysters and creative specials.

I love that CAET is a restaurant for special events as well as you and your hubby just stopping by for a great bite. The service and food are consistently above par. Keep it up!

I came in with my wife tonight. I was wearing my cowboy hat and jeans and she was wearing a shirt that showed her tattoos. We asked for a table for 2. The hostess ignored us for a moment and then the manager walked up and told them table 23 was ready for 2. The hostess then looked at us and said it would be just one moment and took my number down. While we waited, 6 different tables (couples) got sat before us. They did not have a reservation. After multiple people were sat the manager came back to the host stand looked at us and then we were able to sit. Because we were not dressed in "fancy" clothes that we were not priority. Atleast that is how it felt. We will not be back.

The only reason this is a 5 star review is because they don't have a 10 star option.

Cannot wait to eat here again! The fresh oysters and steaks are out of this world!

We booked the Chef's Dining Room for a private party of twelve this past Saturday and couldn't be happier with our experience. The room itself has a round table and that made it nice to be able to talk to everyone in the group. The room does have a door, so we were not disturbed/ did not disturb others in the dining room. The food was excellent. We ordered several appetizers and everyone raved about the Pimento Cheese Toast. Most folks got a half wedge salad and were pleased with it. Members of the group ordered steaks, seafood, and burgers and everyone enjoyed their meal. Food was served in a timely fashion and everything was delicious. Most of the group got desert and we enjoyed the Strawberries & Cream Blondie, Carmel Tart, and the chocolate cake. Our server, Alex, and the other staff that assisted him did a wonderful job in making sure we were taken care of and provided excellent service. They were there when we needed them, but did not intrude on our celebration. This was our first dinner at CAET and it will not be our last. The food and service is excellent and I highly recommend CAET for dinner and also if you need a place for a private dinner/function.

Went for Valentine's Day and the food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. This was my first time visiting and I was not disappointed. I recommend reserving a table in advance. It was a busy night on the day we went so we did have a little wait but I was glad to have a table. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the crab claws. Chef's kiss. Will definitely be back soon.

Bad service and sub par food for the price

We visit a couple times a year. Food is always delicious and dessert is soo good! Service is always on point! Got take out this time sooo delicious!

We love to get the Jackson Hot Catfish appetizer and the wedge salad. They are a great combo and deliciously different than most catfish and salad. The staff and management are great and always pleasant.

Good atmosphere. My reservation was ready right on time.

I love how they went from course to the next. The bread putting was to die for. Also love the Salmon.

The food here is very fresh and well cooked, and the oysters were awesome.

On my Birthday ....The service was great our waiter David was super nice the sword fish and red snapper was not good at all only ate two bites each !!!!!!! The house and the half wedge salad were great. The sautéed crab claws were good, and the variety of oysters were great ! Over all 3 and a half stars and that's pushing it! The bread was better than the fish!!!! Dessert options were not good went to Fresh market for that!

Great keto friendly salad. Added scallop and shrimp to it. The shrimp were a disappointment very tiny for the price, and the scallop was overpriced for its size. If you're on a diet and money to burn, it's all good. Otherwise, a nice atmosphere and food tasted great. Service okay but was pretty slow because of the crowd. The outside chairs could be better some cheap metal ones no butt cushion a little uncomfortable if your waiting for food or service.

This is one of the only places I trust for raw oysters. The staff were great. The restaurant is dimly lit, which is great for the atmosphere but does make it challenging to read the menu at times. This results in people using their cell phone flashlights to see, which I found distracting. However, overall, it was a great experience.

Favorite spot for GNO, a date,drinks, desserts... Get the tuna or steak!

I was there with a group. We were placed in a rather large secluded room. The atmosphere was nice, but the room was a little too dark for me. The appetizers and the meal were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the pimento cheese toasts but the charcuterie board had a nice variety of sauces, nuts, meats and cheeses. For my meal, I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly but unfortunately the seasoning was a touch too salty. The cut was thick enough that I just cut the salty bit away, but it was slightly disappointing since I do enjoy the seared portion of meat in my bite for texture Friends who ordered the shrimp and grits had such a generous serving that they took a meal home for the next day. They were equally impressed with the taste of their meal. Both the key lime pie and the bread pudding were very large servings and tasted so good, we ate every bite!

Caet is probably my favorite of the nicer restaurants in the Jackson area. The quality is impeccable, and their food is consistently excellent. I highly recommend the “Day Boat” entree.

Always great experience at CAET!

Food tasted fine. Nothing special. I had a hair in my food and showed my waiter he just grabbed my plate and said okay and brought me a new one. Food was fine but no one even mentioned it or apologized for the hair and as much as we paid for it the common courtesy would’ve been nice.

My friends took me there last night for my birthday. Our service was perfect , I order the red fish it was totally outstanding and the temperature of the food was perfect. This was my first visit to Caet and I am looking forward to visiting this establishment again.

They have some of the best appetizers in the area. We order several and share them. You definitely need to try the Cauliflower Saganaki. The appetizers are a meal in themselves. We've only made it to the entrees once. Usually we skip to the deserts which are great too!

Delicious food, friendly service, clean seating area with beautiful decorations. I have been thinking about visiting this restaurant for a long time. My husband and I often take a walk at Renaissance. Everytime we walked by Caet, we ALWAYS saw lots of people walking in and out the restaurant and people seemed so happy chatting at the outdoor seating area. I was wondering if this restaurant has a good service. Until today my friend and I came to Caet to celebrate our husbands' birthday, and I got to experience Caet's outstanding service!! Our waiter, Zack, was so professional, he always checked on us at a good time, we never needed to look for him, he knew when we were ready to order or before our water was below half glass, he just came and helped us fill up, he offered his insights when we had any questions and he never disrupted us when my friends and I were in the middle of the conversation. From this perspective, I can tell Caet's employee has a good quality of training! Now let's talk about food. We ordered three appetizers (broil oysters, truffle fries and some kind of cheese/bread with sweet and savory sauce on top), and each dish has their signature plates and display. Everything was very delicious! When my main course was delivered in front of me, I can tell the chef was very professional and careful when he/she put each ingredients in the plate. The display was very beautiful and clean. The most important of all was that the fish was well cooked!! Crispy outside and juicy with tender texture inside. And the mashed potatoes are my favorite!! Last but not least, the dessert selection was hard for me because they have various choices and I just wanna try each of them lol anyway, we ordered the banana pudding with candied pecans 😋😋 yummy!!! If you are looking for a place for date night or low key birthday celebration, I totally recommend here!! I knew they are very popular so I made a reservation a week ago. I can't wait to go back to try different appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverage!!

First time ordering...simply delicious! The Jackson Hot Catfish appetizer, crab cake and crab dip were amazing! We also had the Redfish, fried lobster tails and a side of Brussel sprouts and it was thee Best food we've had in a very long time! The hostess Alex was awesome our food was packaged well and was hot and fresh when we made it home...unfortunately no pictures!

If I could rate our server (Zach) separately, it would be an easy five-star review. He’s really attentive and has a warm personality. Now, onto the food… Meh. We had the charcuterie board, the blondie (for dessert), and the burger, wedge salad, and sides as a meal. The charcuterie board was fine. No issues there. The wedge salad had to be one of the least amusing I’ve ever seen. Quite frankly, I’ve had better wedge salads at BJ’s Brewhouse. I’m not sure if my salad was plain because I requested no blue cheese crumbles or what, but it was really basic in appearance and taste. The burger was the most disappointing. It was exceptionally salty—as were the loaded mashed potatoes I ordered with it. It’s unfortunate because it has great potential. The brioche bun was perfect, the toppings were perfect, and the appearance was nice. But the saltiness of the burger completely turned me off. I barely consumed 50 percent of it (and that was out of pure hunger). The loaded mashed potatoes were extremely salty and had a weird color as if they were over-cooked. Maybe I should’ve had fries instead. The blondie was dry, dry, dry. And the nuts-to-cake ratio was completely off as there were far too many nuts in it. You know a dessert is bad when two adults leave more than half of it untouched. We also had drinks which were actually pretty good, but I don’t remember their names. The ambiance was great as well. It’s a beautiful establishment. If I were to patronize this business again, I’d only come for drinks and the charcuterie board. Otherwise, the food is terribly underwhelming.

Good food but pretty bad customer service. If you arrive later in the evening be prepared for the bar to not only close early (i.e., 10 pm), but kick out a full room of customers to do so…text book management problem in giving way too much authority to bartenders.

Food was delicious. Prices are steep. Not a place to go regularly unless you have disposable income.

We visited the bar for snacks and cocktails and had a blast. The service was excellent, the drinks were tasty, and the food was delicious.

What amazing food!! The place was packed so I sat at the oyster bar. Cheese was shucking oysters and was a lot of fun to chat with while he shucked. There was a few ladies sitting next to me (out together) that joined in the conversation and they were great! This is a must eat/hang out place, I can’t wait to return!!!

Menu changed on the day my children and I visited. The variety of raw oysters were full of flavor. Great wine list. I took one star way because the sauce served on the grilled swordfish was too salty. The swordfish was flavorful and grilled to perfection. I will return to try the other items on the menu.

So I spoke with two different managers prior to our arrival about my plans for having my birthday dinner at this location. I verified specific accommodations and was told everything was good to go. On arrival things went left very quickly. The service received was terrible. Then to make matters worse - the waiter added a random service fee to our bill but could not explain what it was for. My family and I are military so we don’t get to see our loved ones often. I was really hoping for a nice memorable dinner. Instead I spent the majority of the evening apologizing for the poor service, rude attitudes, and weird glances we kept getting. I’m so glad that I took a picture of the receipt. This is our first and last time coming to this overpriced place. It appears as though the servers we had could benefit from some cultural competence training and if they’d rather not service all types of people they should consider remote work.

Amazing seafood. Oysters were exquisite and the salmon I ordered is out of this world. Plates took a while to get to me but it was very crowded so I understand. Staff is also very friendly.

One of our favorite seafood restaurants in the jackson area!! Beef carpaccio is the highlight on the appetizer menu and the redfish is delicious! Nice selection of raw oysters as well.

I always enjoy going to Caet! It's a great place for happy hour with friends, a celebration, or date night. Service is exceptional, the food is consistent and delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are clean too! There was only one weird thing that happened the last time we went. My family was dining in for an early birthday celebration, and we ordered an appetizer. I wanted to wait to order until we received the app and/or finished it to decide how hungry I would be for my main plate. (If you haven't eaten at Caet, they have an exceptional amount of delicious small plates if you want a smorgasbord). The waiter would not bring our appetizer to the table until we orders all our entrees and the menus were off the table.... Even after explaining, we had to do it... just thought this was odd. As far as the food is concerned, it's always top notch. As I mentioned earlier, Caet has a multitude of small plates and snacks that are shareable among the table or are also big enough for a meal. This specific visit, we tried the cauliflower saganaki as our appetizer, which was a steak of cauliflower topped with seared feta, herbs and tomato confit. While we did our best to finish it, I was able to take the rest of this dish home to eat for lunch the following day. We also tried the fried crab claws, which are just a great staple! WATCH OUT FOR PRICES ON THESE THOUGH. Right now, the prices for a small app to share are in the $30-40 range, and many of the servers in town will NOT address these high prices before letting you order it. For our meals, I had the scallop dish and mom went simple with a plate of zucchini fries. Her fries were extra crispy and the zucchini was in ribbons on the inside. They're served with a delicious spicy comeback! I would suggest asking for a second ramekin of the sauce! The scallops were buttery and cooked to perfection. They sat on a bed of white truffle risotto and were topped with green tomato pico and tomato parm broth. The green tomato pico gave this decadent, buttery dish the perfect burst of freshness. I would highly recommend. Caet stays pretty busy, so I would suggest making a reservation. They have several private rooms along with a large dining space, bar seating (tables and the bar itself) along with a spacious outdoor patio. The location is in Renaissance, so it is easy to get in and out of.

I love CAET’s , been there many times. So when my niece came in from Denver, i recommended CAET’s. It was nice as usual, but right away noticed the menu prices were much higher than the last time that I was there. Thx to inflation I’m sure. The meal got there and was very good as usual but the portions were much smaller. We had a good time and enjoyed the meal. Waiter was good, so i left a nice tip. Nxt day, i looked over my receipt (should have looked it over) Got charged for a half bottle of Alexander Valley Merlot and got charged extra for subbing a half salad for the 2 sides, waiter said no extra charge. I won’t get into the other things but figured, i was charged an extra $60 on my tab. Still a great place, but look over ur tab!!

The food, atmosphere, and service ranks in the best of the best for me. I'm obsessed with this place and wish they were in my home town of Mobile! What an incredible experience!

My family and I had an excellent time at Caet's the food was amazing, they have great options on oysters, the Salads were perfectly dressed and a nice proportion, the wood grill salmon was great and the Ribeye was so juicy and delicious, to finish off the chocolate cake and blondie were truly amazing, that night it seems very busy and the service by Saul was fantastic his the best and the food didnt take long at all to arrive to our table.. we had a great time Thank you guys.

We stopped by for cocktails and a caramel tart The service by Adell was excellent. Just the right amount of attention. Our cocktails Were excellent. I recommend the Diablo and their Old Fashioned was great, too

My husband chose Caet to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time here. The atmosphere was casual, which I liked. Some people were dressed up while others dressy casual and even casual. The vibe from the waitstaff working there did not seem real personable, except for a couple of them. Fortunately for us, we got one of them. He was super nice, came to check on us often, and was a great server. (I asked about the oyster shell tree, and he told us about it. I also asked about the private rooms and he informed me of what he knew and referred me who to contact for more info.) We had the Caet half house salads (huge!), glasses of rosé, flounder, redfish, and side of garlic mash potatoes. The potatoes were too salty for us, but the fish and green beans (came with redfish) were delicious! Wish we had room for dessert. Overall, a pleasant experience and pleasant service.

Very nice location, great staff! The only complaint is that I did not think my entree lived up to the menu description. The Redfish Anna was very good, but if my plate had "jumbo lump crab" on it, it was in such small quantities that it was effectively an insignificant amount. I love shellfish, so missing out on this flavor was a disappointment. Otherwise, the shrimp cocktail and fried zucchini were delicious. The wood grilled salmon and its arugula pesto polenta was reportedly very good.

Caet has always been one of our date night favorites and we go regularly, but we were made to feel so uncomfortable at our dinner last weekend, that it ruined our whole experience. Our waitress almost refused to allow us to keep our menus even though we had not ordered yet and were drinking all through the meal (we wanted to give her the menu when we ordered so that we could look it over before we ordered). She said that they have to take menus off the table if a customer is getting raw oysters because management does not want the menu to get wet. She said that we were going to get her in trouble if we kept the menu. We told her that she could let management know that WE (as customers) were specifically requesting to keep the menus, and she could tell them that WE (again, the paying customers) were to blame. She said something along the lines of "oh I will". We told her we were not ready to order (we had JUST placed our app order), and that we would like to keep them until we ordered since we did not know what we wanted. I eventually ended up offering to take a photo of the menu so she could take the hard copies, but she declined. She ended up only leaving us with one menu for two of us, and she made us leave it on a shelf behind our table, so we had to turn around every time we wanted to look at a menu (food and drinks). She came back to the table several times asking if she could take the menus. Our son went through a near death experience and has been in and out of the hospital, so this was the first night we had time alone out of the house in a few months. Being interrupted multiple times for menus that we really needed was a total disruption to our meal.

Fresh oysters from oysters from multiple places made for an amazing appetizer. The selection was very impressive and you're sure to find something to fit your palette. Finished the evening with the shrimp and grits entrée which was very well presented and flavor combinations were great.

The service was excellent. My waiter recommended the old fashioned cocktail and it was very good. I had the pimento cheese toast with the bacon jam. Very interesting and complex flavors that I absolutely loved. The special was the skin on red snapper and it was very good also. The skin was crisp and made a very good contrast to the texture of the snapper filet.

Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because many of the items are way overpriced. BUT the food is great and wow at the service! Waitress was great and we’ve never seen a bartender serve up drinks so fast. It was like he knew what we were ordering before we did. Lol! Typically takes 10-15 minutes to get a cocktail at any other restaurant. Literally had our drinks within 2 minutes or less of ordering them. We had the crab fondue and the hot catfish appetizers which were both delicious. Then we shared the CAET burger. It was all really good.

This is not about food, but I would like to say how much I appreciate your kindness. The lady at the front desk was quick to assist me when I was having a physical issue that I had never experienced before. I want to say how much I appreciate what you did. The restaurant looks amazing. We’ll be sure to come in for a visit later…under different circumstances. Again, thank you!

Still One Of My Favorite Spots In Town

Great food, service and atmosphere.

The food was wonderful. I can’t say so much about the hostess or the server. The hostess was on the rude side and the server seemed to have issues. She would refill one persons beverage but not another persons beverage. Very strange.

The salmon was beautifully cooked and tender. I was not a huge fan of the sides that were paired with it. Fantastic oysters. Excellent wine selection by the glass or bottle. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I had the crab fondue, the 6oz filet, and the caramel tart. All were delicious! The steak was so tender. I ate almost every bite of all 3. Also the shaved brussels and bacon were amazing. Mary Addelyn is the best server they have!

Consistently is key! You will find it here! Love the oyster selections and beef carpaccio...the reason I come! Wine and cocktails are spot on as well!

Food and service were as expected from an Emerson restaurant….on point! The pimento cheese toast….AMAZING! However ….and I’ll preface by saying the dessert prep may have been having an off night, but the bread pudding….one of the worst I’ve ever had. Surprising . It was cold, dense, not really a bread pudding at all. I would recommend this restaurant, absolutely….just not the bread pudding. BUT…. If you want the best bread pudding you’ve ever tasted… Go to Koestler prime, it’s got to be the best bread pudding in the country. Bar none… better than their steaks, and the steaks are really good!

The service was amazing, water never empty. The wine list was really quite nicely put together from around the world, even nice half bottle selection. Great oyster selection, from up and down the east coast. The hot catfish easily stole the show, made to perfection. The scallops cooked with a nice sear and really well put together sauce! Go out of your way to eat here!

Most excellent restaurant. Must visit when in Jackson MS! 6 Stars. Not 5!!!

We had takeout from Caet. I had the shrimp and grits. It was a spicy surprise with much less heaviness than most versions I’ve had. My wife had the gumbo and also enjoyed it. While it was takeout, I am certain the atmosphere and presentation would be memorable.

I really don’t know where to begin but our food was delicious, our waitress was okay until the food came out and then she slightly turnt into Gordon Ramsey on Hells Kitchen...but thank you to the manager Scotta B for understanding, being patient, and professional because the dine-in could have really escalated. I do not recommend kids, there is no kids menu. This is for the grown.

Best meal in metro Jackson in a long time! Our server, Markesha (I think I spelled they right), was superb. The great service added to an amazing meal. The whole table raved about the starters, entrees, and the amazing desserts.

I have been completely satisfied every time I have been here. This evening, however, was even better! The Caet Burger has got to be the best burger in town. I know it may not seem like the kind of place to order a burger, but theirs is amazing. Get the egg on it. The filet was fantastic as well. The thin beans are good, the mashed potatoes with bacon in them, wow! Thick-cut, delicious bacon. The charcuterie was delicious as well. I can't say enough about how good date night at Caet was.

If you love seafood then this is your place! Great food, big servings! The oysters are fresh and yummy. Great location and a wonderful ambiance.

Top 3 places in the greater Jackson-Ridgeland area!

Don’t typically (almost never) leave a review - good or bad. However, the service I received from manager, David and staff, was above and beyond anything I have experienced anywhere. For perspective, I travel throughout the lower US for business and eat all meals, 5 or more days a week, in a restaurant. The restaurant was recommended by a client. I placed a to go lever for the caet burger cooked medium. When I arrived to the restaurant I was promptly greeted, my food was ready. I paid and headed back to my hotel. Once I arrived to my room I opened the packaging to find the most amazing burger I may have ever laid eyes on. Excited, I attempted to take a bite only to find it was a bit too large. I cut the burger in half and that is when things took a turn for the worse. I found the burger I ordered medium was actually cooked blue rare - seared outside, cold and red on the inside. I’m an adventurous eater, but raw ground beef (no matter the quality) presents a real danger of contamination. I couldn’t eat it. Disappointed I called the restaurant. The young man who answered the phone quickly qualified the call and got me with the manage, David. I held for less than 30 second before David came on the line. I ran down the scenario and without any hesitation, i was told the bill would be taken care of. Great! For me, the restaurant had done its job 100% at this point. I did not have to fight, or even ask for that matter, for this to be addressed. This, at this point, was an experience worth a 5 star review. What truly set this experience above every other experience I have had not just in a restaurant, but in any retail space, is what happened next. David asked me if I was still hungry and offered, to have the meal remade and delivered it to my hotel himself. The second burger was perfectly cooked and quite delicious. To the staff at Caet, thank you for the great meal and the amazing service. I will likely never return to Mississippi, but if I do, Caet will serve me my first meal.

This place is alright. Was really expecting much more with the local hype and price point. But that could be just my opinion. Overall, this place is nice.

Loved the appetizers (crab cake and cheese toast). Entrees were also good (redfish and burger). Great atmosphere.

Caet is pronounced Kate. It's an interesting place. It was a short walk from the Renaissance Hyatt where we were staying. Despite covid regulations and an ample crowd, we were seated promptly. The menu was enticing and we ended up ordering gumbo and a seafood platter. The seafood was mildly seasoned and sat upon a huge pile of French fries. The gumbo was New Orleans style - no roux, but rather a tomato base, and thick rather than soupy. There was a generous amount of seafood in it, including large gulf shrimp. I found it spicy and flavorful, but my wife didn't like it. The seafood platter contained huge gulf shrimp, tiny oysters, and small fillets of some kind of fish. The seafood was properly fried and had a nice texture . Seasoning was mild. The hush puppies were surprisingly good and I even enjoyed the coleslaw - not normally a favorite of mine. We would have liked to see a crab patty or stuffed crab as part of this platter. Most of those french fries were still there when we finished our meal - a waste. Service was casual, but okay. The wait staff all had masks, but it appeared that none of the kitchen staff wore masks. Cost of the meal was reasonable.

Their appetizers are the best (beef carpaccio, lobster rolls, gumbo, chargrilled oysters)!

The food is great and a cool place.
