This place is absolutely amazing. If you can get in when it's not got too long a line, I wouldn't hesitate. The food is amazing. Some better than others. I love the sausage sandwich. I like sitting inside or on the patio, both are great. Some of the staff are Brazilian and I love that.

We finally decided to take a chance with this eatery, it’s impossible to find parking in a teeny weeny parking lot and had to park across the street! The wait line was long so come prepared with some reading material, etc, only a couple of benches available, first come first serve! The interior is colorful and depicts the culture of Brazil! The food is good and plenty, and the service is excellent! Sitting is limited inside but there is sitting outdoors! I have to rave about the coffee as well, bold and robustly delicious! Would love to come back at an earlier time and try something different from their extensive menu!

The ranchero eggs had way too much cheese on them making it a big cheese ball. Wish I had ordered something else.

Lazy service. We came as a group of two parties and they refused to create separate checks. It takes you literally two seconds but instead you pawn this off to the customer to calculate the costs, split tip and taxes, Venmo / cash app each other, etc.

Dog friendly, friendly staff, giant portions, and good food 😋 I got the polenta with tofu. Tofu was perfectly cooked. It came with fruit and bread. Didn’t need the bread, fruit was nice. My husband got the cod with olives and potatoes. The cod was over cooked but overall flavor was tasty. We also got plantains. It was too much food but tasty. A bit of a wait usually, make sure to sign in to the yelp wait-list! Food is really good with a large selection. I have made the mistake of ordering to go in the past, and had bad experiences. Service can be a bit hit or miss. Smoothies are also really good!

Please get rid of your Yelp waitlist system. It is inaccurate and frustrating. Can’t stand Yelp and no one is at the entrance to greet you or let you know what’s going on.

Cozy, quaint, and personal. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was attentive. I was not super hungry the day we went, but I enjoyed a fresh, warm, delicious muffin and some wonderful juice. My friend had what appeared to be a personalized breakfast they make him as a regular. It was a huge portion and looked amazing. Next time, I will be sure to be hungry and try more stuff. Update: When I returned again, I brought my appetite, and I am so glad I did! I will absolutely crave the Eggs Benedict and potatoes! It is some of the best I've ever had! The ham was perfect thin slices, and good quality, and the sauce was such a gift of flavor I had to savor every bite. I hint on the salty side, but delightful. The potatoes had an amazing seasoning that made more taste buds water for more. I will absolutely return again for that dish.

They didn’t let me eat outside with my dog e even though there were so many people in the restaurant yet. I don’t like the atmosphere of the environment. They train the host to deliver a terrible customer experience not aligned with American culture.

Price is steep if you think in reais, but more than fair in the local context. I highly recommend it to Brazilians who miss home, or would like to experience the mix between Brazil and the USA

Delicious and affordable Brazilian food in a great atmosphere. Note, this is not a dinner restaurant, they closed at 3pm. But it is the best breakfast & lunch place for Brazilian food. I do love their Moqueca de Camarao – Brazilian Shrimp Stew. It is the best. I even drive sometimes from San Francisco to Santa Cruz just for their Moqueca. The atmosphere is fresh and colorful, the service is friendly and professional, and besides the amazing food, the juices and smoothies are outstanding. A really good time for you and your stomach.

Amazing food! We ordered the banana pancakes and the fish polenta, both very tasty! Very noisy environment so I would be careful if visiting with someone who might get auditory overstimulation. Other then that I couldn’t recommend this spot more!

Came here on a Sunday around 11 AM for brunch as a party of 4. There was a little bit of a wait, but it wasn't too long. They have indoor and outdoor seating options available. I’d probably recommend sitting outside if you want to be able to hear the person you’re talking to, we had a difficult time hearing each other with all of the people inside. I had ordered the Mixed Seafood Muquecas. At first it was alright, but it was much better with the house made hot sauce. It kind of reminds me of a seafood curry. ~~Parking: They have a very small parking lot in the back of the cafe. There weren't any spots when we arrived but we were able to find street parking and walk over. ~~Tips: Ask for their housemade hot sauce!! It's pretty good! Actually spicy with an after taste of tabasco. ~~Return: Probably.

Hubby had been here before, but I had not. He raved about their excellent, smooth coffee, which is served by the small mugful, then refilled upon request. I toned it down with almond milk and sugar because it's strong! Hubby had the Omelette Mexicano with a side of sausage links. I had the Omelette Santa Cruz with cheddar cheese. Both came with house potatoes and were quite generous portions. The food was good, the service excellent and the Saturday morning vibe was perfect, with Brazilian music in the background. Arrive early, because this place is popular and gets crowded FAST.

Wanted to try Brazilian food. Fun and colorful restaurant, music a little loud but I am old. Tried steak, stroganoff and seafood. The rice is addicting as well as black beans. Coffee is good. The fish was nice, the sauce tasty. The stroganoff was different with a tomato sauce, great potato sticks. The steak was a little tough but the texture of the meal was nice. Salad was refreshing.

Just a disgusting place. We arrived for lunch. There are girls of about 16 years old and there are 4 of them working on receiving orders. It took about 15 minutes to print the order. No one came up, we had to go order it ourselves, so as not to disturb the people in the building and sat down on the street. Very disappointing. Got the fish muquecas and beef stroganoff and both just didn't taste as expected. One was bland (fish) and the other was unexpectedly sour (beef). Wait time was wrong and place has very limited parking. Not worth the visit though everyone else seems to rave about the brunch menu. The ambiance was relax. Chill crowd. Good coffee.

Love this place ever since university. And now every time I’m in town from out of the country I come here. And try to introduce as many friends to it. Food is great. Especially all the Brazilian sauces. And the vinaigrette dressing is to die for, I put it on everything. Their mimosas are super unique and a generous size.

Excellent Brazilian food with a Cali vibe

I graduated UCSC 23 years ago, and the quality of eats at Cafe Brasil has NEVER DROPPED. My regular to this day is the Brasiliero omelette with creamed chicken and creamed corn plus added green chiles. Always delicious! My husband went for the crab benedict. And of course, they were accompanied by strong cups of Pilão coffee! I always think I'll refrain from eating the baguette too...but I can never resist.

Love this place. 3.9 on service because I have expectations. Someday they will be met again by the staff of ANY restaurant. But I digress. I get up early, pick up my girlfriend and head to one of the state parks to enjoy the ocean early on a weekend morning. Like 730 or 8am. Once we've had our fill of sand and fog, we head to Cafe Brasil for breakfast. We eat the breakfast. It is good. The coffee is good. The vibe is good. It smells good. So try it out and expect good service!

Worth getting a juice while you're there, made fresh on site and super tasty So good we went back twice in one week on our trip! This is just about the best thing. I started eating here in 2007 and have been coming regularly ever since despite moving to Texas. Regular recommends include their shakes, açai bowls, muquecas, and salad with palm hearts. If you're a meat eater you may like their steaks as I remember liking their thin texture in the past.
