Just overall fantastic spot. The venison is great and my go to. I'd also recommend the special entrée as the creativity and execution on these has been superb when my wife has gotten this. Venison is always perfect. Good location too with avaliable underground parking if you're not staying near by. 2024 edit: The service at this place is on par with 3 Michelin star restaurants I've been fortunate enough to visit. The poke sauce on the tuna carpaccio was ridiculously good. I'm not sure how they even executed the sauce as it seems like a reduction interms of the umami blast and thickness and somehow they pull off a slight saltiness that's perfectly balanced. Hummus' flavor reminded me of a beet salad at a Moroccan restaurant my family went to often when I was a child (and was my absolute favorite of the 8-10 salads that were served as a part of the meal) and perfectly integrated the flavors of the Levant across North Africa to Atlas Mountains. The steak was really creative, would definitely do again, and my wife's scallops were sublime.

2nd bad experience in a row. We've been patrons (as locals) for over 20 years. Tonight's 1st attempt at a pork chop was completely well done. Like well, well done. 2nd attempt, less well done. Problem? They brine them then season again while cooking. Result? So salty as to be inedible. Abby the bartender went way over and above to be accommodating, but after 2 terrible attempts at something as simple as a pork chop....didn't want to try anything else.

Cozy romantic atmosphere. Impeccable service. We visited on fondue night during mud season and enjoyed a meal for 2 with dessert for a great discounted price.

Wonderful dinner for our anniversary! The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was a little noisy and sometimes difficult to carry on a conversation, but overall, we really enjoyed our evening.

This is a must try for anyone visiting Steamboat Springs! I came specifically for the venison while I was on a ski trip and it didn't disappoint. It was plated beautifully and tasted top notch. This is a high end type restaurant in terms of the menu and food quality, but without the pretentious atmosphere. It's very small and cozy and fits it well in the ski village. Well done!

Loved their 25 Year Anniversary menu! Highlights were the Crab and Tomato Bisque c. 1998, Smoked Beet Salad c. 2022 and the Pork Chop and Apple Sauce c. 2017. Super romantic ski town restaurant and ambiance, with a beautiful wine program.

We went to this lovely restaurant for Valentine’s Day. They have two seatings. Menu was preset for Valentines. Food and wine were fantastic. Amazing place to spend a romantic holiday.

Wow. This place is amazing. It was recommended to me and it was all that and then some. The service was incredible. Casey did a great job from start to finish. The atmosphere was perfect for a nice dinner with my wife. Now, let’s get to the good. Damn, it was good. We started with the bacon and peanut butter sandwich which was out of this world. Then we had the smoked beet salad…..incredible flavors. I had the venison for my main and my wife had the bass fish dish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We topped it off with the crème brûlée which was excellent. I gave our apps and desert a 10. Our main courses I gave a 9. It was pricey, but so worth it.

What a great experience! Everything was delicious, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is super cozy. We had the beef carpaccio, smoked beet salad, venison loin, and proscuitto wrapped scallops. Yum! Thank you Marissa and Chef Kate for a wonderful meal!

This was the best restaurant at steamboat. We are deeply saddened by the news of the loss of the greatest wait person probably ever, Darryl. We teared up finding out about the loss. The place has changed and our experience was so bad that we canceled our subsequent reservation. This place was our favorite. Now it is just an expensive restaurant with good food and weirdly poor, passive aggressive service. Our waitress stood behind me so I had to turn 180 degrees to look at her. We were told that we couldn't order appetizers ahead of our main course. I have eaten out many times and have never had anything like this.

Absolutely fantastic. Staff is friendly and wonderful, restaurant is cozy and fun, really nice ambience. The wine list is varied and reasonable and the staff know it well. Then there’s the food… everything is incredible. Starters to dessert, it is all superb. We had two incredible meals here this past week, so good we couldn’t go just once. Highly recommend Cafe Diva when you stop into Steamboat!

After eating at this restaurant I feel I need to reconsider my criteria for 5 star reviews. This was quite possibly the best fine dining experience of my life. Every item on this menu was exquisite and cooked to perfection. I absolutely loved the duck confit and peanut butter bacon sandwiches. They were followed by the most amazing sweet potato soup; quite possibly the best soup I’ve ever had. The venison and potatoes were superb. The apple bread pudding and pistachio gelato were absolute heaven. I did not want to put my fork down. If you’re in town, you must try this restaurant.

Food was good but not excellent as you would expect for the price you pay. Service was just ok. Beef carpaccio was too salty, however the benison and scallops were great. With so many different options in town I don't see myself coming back.

On our family vacation we decided to try out this place and we were not dissapointed. The venison and scallops were fantastic. I cannot reccomend the Frosted Garden Cocktail enough! Our service was great, she was very knowledgeable and accommodating to the allergies in the family. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area

Overall sensational. I didn’t quite understand the inspiration behind the green beans (winter vegetable) within the context of the seasonal surf & turf dish, which was otherwise utterly sublime. They were extremely cooperative with our parties’ allergies, and the service was polite and attentive.

It’s not easy to have a restaurant that can thrive for 25 years and it really shows with Cafe Diva. Absolutely delicious, creative cuisine in a cozy environment with friendly and helpful service. Very expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Excited to return.

I had the best birthday dinner here. The ambiance is cozy and inviting with dim lighting. The service was impeccable and the food....top notch! We ordered the Diva Duo and each course was amazing. I was even surprised with a lovely birthday dessert. Thank you for a perfect evening!

Amazing dining experience with excellent food. We had their date night special for 90 $ delicious clams and chorizo appetizer. You just wanted to drink the broth it was so good. Scallops were perfect and chicken was moist with lots of flavor. Apple cake with Carmel and candied pecans was almost better than mine. Service was excellent Everyone was very attentive. Would highly recommend getting a reservation here

Menu online does not reflect the actual menu. Food was WAY too salty. Piccata is not Marsala which is what the Mushroom Piccata tasted like. Prices are WAY overpriced for how the food tastes. The online reservation process was extremely inconvenient and not like other online reservation experiences. It asked if we were celebrating a special occasion which we indicated but it was never referenced while we were there. WHY ask? With so many other better restaurants in Steamboat, I think this one should get over itself.

What a quaint restaurant. The service was exquisite, and the staff was so attentive and professional . The food was prepared and served to perfection. I would have liked a bit of a larger menu, but there will always be something. Great meal, would return and / or recommend.

Love the food, atmosphere and service. Did not like a statement on the bottom of the menu placing the need for me to contribute to the living wage of the kitchen staff. If the ownership cannot make a go of it to cover expenses ( a living wage for the kitchen staff) they should either bring in a new management team , look at their pricing and cost structure or sell.

I will start by saying that I have eaten at Cafe Diva several times throughout the years. I brought my husband and in laws here for our wedding anniversary dinner, because of how outstanding the food has always been, and the meal was very underwhelming. The quality of the food was lacking and the portions of the main protein were incredibly small. I found that the main protein was sitting on a huge bed of side dishes that came with the meal. I was so excited to share this experience with my family and it was a complete let down. I always felt that the prices were justified in the quality of the meal, but this time i felt like i overpaid for a mediocre meal. Overall, a subpar experience.

Had dinner here on 6/21/23 and it could not have been more delightful. Every meal was perfectly prepared. The waiter and the chef went out of their way to accommodate a food intolerance. The halibut was superb!

This past Sunday me and my sister went out to Cafe Diva for my birthday it was fantastic. I've been there couple of times before and never had a bad experience, the staff is attentive and pleasant, and the food I would argue is the best in Steamboat.

As far as fine dining experiences at ski resorts go, Diva holds its own to be sure. Not too big, not too small creates a nice joint where a proper conversation can be had and not overheard. Where the waitstaff, from the moment you arrive is as attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable as could be imagined. Almost made me think they were programmed robots as perfectly executed it all was... LOL Kidding of course, staff crushed it. House cocktails thoughtfully designed... the paper moon was subtle and yummy. The mushroom and Brussel sprout spring rolls flavorful and surprisingly lite. The pork belly peanut but bites are inspired, but a word to the chef…too many flavors confuses a palate. Going easier on the sauces and having more confidence in the flavor of your primary ingredients is something for you to ponder. The special Seabass lite and flakey. The lamb shank was fall Off the bone. But again while tasty this chef is trying a little too hard! The abundance of sauces over power things and fillers like the Gruyère Cauliflower purée can be tone down. Chef..less is more, let the love you put into the main ingredients shive thru, resist the need to overcompensate and you’ll truly find ‘it’. Lastly the Mexican Chocolate Mousse, yum. Still despite my nuanced feedback, Cafe Diva is a Steamboat standout. We will return.

Cafe Diva is consistently the best meal we have in Steamboat. Chef Kate is a magician who takes high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. We have been to almost all of the fine dining restaurants in town and Cafe Diva wins on taste, hands down. Menus rotate every season but there are a few staples that are always there. Staples we enjoyed were the crab and tomato bisque and the venison loin. The venison was cooked between a rare and medium rare (chef's recommendation) and it was so, so tender. This meat had a veal Demi-glacé and was paired with mashed potatoes, green beans, and fried leeks; seemingly simple but done extremely well. In addition, we also had the smoked beet and pepita salad and I had the onion soup braised lamb shank. Apparently Chef Kate starts cooking this lamb at 6am (and then go skis a couple laps if conditions are good) and it's a creative mash up of French onion soup and braised lamb shank. The met was fall of the bone tender and so flavorful. My only compliant was it was too much food and I couldn't finish. Dessert was the classic creme brûlée with fresh berries, this rendition is a lighter texture than the usual crème brûlée and the perfect finish to the meal. I will come here every time I'm in Steamboat. Highly recommend. Tips: Reservations are an absolute must. Do this on Opentable in advance. Ambiance is fairly loud, but service was top notch.

I cannot recommend Cafe Diva enough. We had the steak tartare and duck confit to start- both were truly outstanding. The surf and turf (scallops and venison) was absolutely perfect. Apple bread pudding for dessert was delightful. Top 5 meal of all time. Excellent service as well.

Easily the best restaurant in Steamboat. Food is always impeccable. Cocktails are also among the best in town and they have an incredible wine menu. Trust the servers here. Food is fresh and changes frequently. The service staff is allowed to taste almost everything on the menu unlike other restaurants in town, and that really allows them to guide a unique experience that is customized for the table. The chef owner is fantastic and is always open to feedback to continue to make minor menu changes. It keeps you on your toes and their variety is constantly surprising locals who are generally tired of the same happy hour menus at every other restaurant in town. I feel like every time we eat here, there's always something new to try and new that surprises us. Café Diva is certainly our favorite dining destination in Steamboat.

Amazing! Cafe diva is on par with NYC and Chicago dining right here in steamboat! We tried almost everything on the menu and were pleasantly surprised with each. Cocktails and wine selection were fantastic as well. Impeccable service rarely found anywhere in Colorado. The menu rotates seasonally so we’ll be back in the spring!

Stopped in to sit at the bar and have dessert. The pecan Gelato and candied nuts were fantastic 5 of 5! The bread pudding was good...3.5 out of 5. Very kind staff and would go back. The couple next to us had a sea bass fish and chips.. looked phenomenal!

One of the best meals we've had in a long time! Wonderful food and staff. Both our waitress and the sommelier were great. The food was excellent, had the gnudi and the tenderloin for our meals and the tuna carpaccio was a delicious starter. The cocktails were also amazing, one of the best espresso martinis I've had!

They have a few vegan options but they are absolutely delicious! Highly recommend if you're looking for elevated vegan options!

What a gem of a restaurant! We came upon the restaurant while strolling through the area. We didn't have a reservation so we were happy to sit at the bar where we were served by the most lovely Stephanie. She took such great care of us and provided us with thoughtful recommendations on all things regarding appetizers, entrees, wines, beer and food. A few years ago, Cafe Diva was absolutely the best dining experience in Steamboat. We dined here in early June and agreed that the food quality was not the same as we experienced in prior visits. We did have good service and a friendly server. We decided to try this restaurant again to see if we were there on an “off night.” After dining there this evening, both the food quality AND the service was sub-standard, particularly for the prices they charge. Our server seemed to be having a bad night and acted annoyed when I asked for the vegan menu. She was unfriendly and a little hostile. A person at the table next to ours had a shellfish allergy and some other issues. I think it stressed out our server, but she took it out on our table. Our server initially said if I saw something on the regular menu that I liked, to let her know in case it could be modified. After I mentioned one item to her, she sent the manager to our table to sternly tell me it couldn’t be modified. We sat there for over 30 minutes before our order was taken. The food was mediocre. We have been loyal customers, but we won’t be back.

My all time favorite restaurant. We’ve been coming here every time we’re in Steamboat for years. Seasonal dishes are consistently delicious & excellent wine list. We’re gluten free & many of her dishes are already GF. We took friends last night & they were blown away too. Scallops are excellent.

All of the food is beautiful and tasty but the duck confiet eggrolls as a starter and the venison are the best! Chocolate baked alaska for dessert. 👍 staff, great food, great atmosphere. What more could you ask for?

Food was great. I had the short loin venison, cooked perfectly. My wife had the fettuccini, it was a bit too peppery for her taste. After we gave the Sommelier our ideas of which wines we were thinking of she suggested a Torbreck "The Struie". Excellent choice.

This is an exceptional restaurant in Steamboat. Great menu, complex sauces, knowledgeable staff and a top of the line wine list. As you would expect, it is not inexpensive. On our visit the service was excellent and the Sommelier paired the wine perfectly. Make reservation months in advance and check for seasonal closing.

Over priced for quality, service was good and atmosphere. But for the price point the food was bland, undersalted/ seasoned, and steak should be juicy when served. It was obviously over seared.

We absolutely loved everything we tried here. Prices were reasonable for being on resort. Food was simultaneously unique and delicious: offering original combinations of flavors and interesting ingredients. This paradigm also applies to their signature cocktails, of which I tried 4. I can honestly say that everything was delicious. Presentation of the food was also excellent. Service was prompt, but friendly. Atmosphere was casual and not overwhelming. Extensive wine list. Will be returning! YUM!

Spectacular evening surrounded by family, great service, and food. The tomato bisque was delicious leading us to our next round. Scallops, Red Snapper, Salomon, and Lamb Shank. Leaving us full but ready for delicate and decadent desserts. Thank you for having us!

Had dinner last night. Cozy atmosphere. Very very salty gravy on the beef entree and the soup was very salty. Loved the peanut butter sandwich appetizer. Very creative and a nice surprise.

We stopped here for a romantic Steamboat getaway and couldn’t have been more pleased. The food, atmosphere, & service were exceptional. My husband ordered the surf and turf and I got the lamb shank. The peanut butter and bacon sandwiches were unbelievable and our favorite of our entire meal. We also got the duck confit starter which was fresh, light and delicious. Would highly recommend.

We had a most amazing meal here, incredibly delicious at all points, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Alot of thought and creativity is obvious in creating the menu. Such an awesome restaurant. Had the Beef Tenderloin and it was great! Such bold flavors of the accompanying sauces, I would definitely order again. Great ambience and service as well. It's a bit on the expensive side, but considering it's in Steamboat (at a prime location), and the high quality of the food, I can largely overlook the cost. I would definitely come back to Cafe Diva without hesitation.

The best fine dining restaurant in the area! Loved the burrata panzanella salad.the surf @ turf is to die for; tried to savour the sauces to see if I can make them( in my dreams)! Pom Pom cocktail was perfect! Service was excellent! Colleen made this experience so relaxing and wonderful .I was able to taste the difference of what this chef is made of compared to others. You are magnificent

Amazing wine and food. Started with the peanut butter and bacon sandwiches and the foie gras which were both wonderful. For the entrees, we had the scallops, beef tenderloin, and the sea bass. They were all very good. Our favorite was the sea bass. The creme brulee for dessert was outstanding. Overall, an amazing meal!

This restaurant is taking dining in steamboat to another level. Cafe Diva is the total package. Literally every time I sit down for dinner here I can't remember the last time i had a better meal. I have been lucky enough to eat here multiple times, and each time they seem to raise the bar to a new level. Last night Andy cooked us a mushroom stuffed ravioli, which basically changed my life. It's difficult to find pasta done right anywhere, and this was not only cooked perfectly, but the flavors were complete, well rounded, and tied together seamlessly. The smoked ricotta finished it off perfectly. Wow. Kate, Andy, and the crew in the kitchen never fail to execute, and they are always consistent. Don't leave without trying the venison, hands down one the best steaks I've had anywhere. Our server Emily was genuine, and authentic. She took the time to get to know us, and what we were looking for, before making her reccomendation. Very professional, and most importantly fun!! Paul, Casey, and Emily went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The family atmosphere at Cafe Diva is really what makes the overall customer experience here stand out as being unique. This team was impressive. They executed well, and they did it with class and style. I give this place a 20 out of 10 every time. See you soon Thank you.

The food was great! I popped in on my wife and her niece and they were very easy to accommodate moving us to another table so we could still be compliant with covid guild lines. The menu was great and the food even better!

First time to Steamboat Springs. The food was fantastic and fair priced for mid to upscale restaurant. Our waitress was excellent.

My wife and I were highly impressed. Sophisticated atmosphere, extremely Pleasant staff and management, and the food was outstanding. We had the panzanella salad to start, which was bright and full of flavor. Then we shared the scallops, and beef tenderloin. I could not tell you what was the best, everything was so damn good. For dessert we did the cheesecake mousse. It was nice and Light, delicious. We will be back, highly recommend Cafe Diva.
