This place is the most unassuming gem! The atmosphere is very cozy, the place is clean and the service is great! I ordered the vegan caprese and it was exactly what I was craving. I’ll definitely be back to try their drinks!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I was so happy to be able to get a cuban sandwich on gluten free bread and it was delicious! Street parking nearby.

This coffee shop is tucked away from the main roads and is easy to miss, but I highly recommend visiting! They have a lot of vegan options including a cafe con leche made using coconut milk that was made in-house. I can hardly wait to return and try more items!

I love all the local art being sold from this cafe and we tried great vegan and not vegan food. The person that helped us was amazing and friendly when accommodating our big group. We will definitely come back when we are in town again!

This is a fabulous coffee shop/plus where I love to have lunch or snacks. The people who work there are extremly friendly and welcoming. Great service and food.

Brought our 2 toddlers here from out of town and they gave us the best breakfast ever and were super kind. We loved the kid friendly vibe and welcoming atmosphere. The art is amazing and it was just a really cool place. ❤️

Cute and cozy cafe well located in the downtown area. High quality beverages and the A to Z breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. Looking forward to coming back for some of their events as well!

My first time in, won't be my last. The Cuban Coffee was on point as was the service.

Went for breakfast after my flight, and it's a bit of a shame how good the food is when the atmosphere feels unwelcoming. Staff looks like they don't want to be there, the cashier didn't properly communicate with us where to get our lemonade or how long it would've taken to get our coffee. We got the vegan caprese and it was delicious! The egg and cheese on cuban bread was ok, the egg was very bland with barely any flavor. We ended up leaving because it was taking incredibly long to get an iced latte. We were already done with our breakfast at this point. If the staff communicated it was going to take a while when we purchased, we would have been patient. When I got up to ask, they said it would take three more minutes. 10 minutes passed and my boyfriend got up to see if anyone was there, but didn't see any of the staff. We ended up leaving without the $6 coffee. I managed a coffee shop for 2 years so I understand the timing/science behind coffee. All you need to do is communicate better. I'd go back for the food, but I'd rather take it to go to save myself a headache.

I walked in to use the bathroom and I really liked the atmosphere. They even had free contraceptives, condoms and feminine products in the bathroom. I thought that was really nice. I also like all the art on display. As far as the service goes, I didn’t feel very welcome. It seemed like nobody wanted to deal with me and I was getting weird looks from the employees. I had the vegan quiche and it wasn’t appetizing at all. I paid $6 and it was kind of small. The quiche had too much salt, the crust wasn’t crispy as if it was made yesterday or the day before, and the last bite was cold. I’m surprised the quiche was on the special board.

Found this place needing coffee and a quick breakfast with my kiddo. I didn’t realize it had vegan options but finding that not only do they but that their vegan options are equally extensive and delicious was a bonus. It means it gets added to the list for when my sister and BIL come visit. Their menu is a Cuban Asian fusion that is simply genius! They also have a large selection of Kaleisia teas, beers, bottled colas and more. The staff was friendly and made great recommendations. Cafe Hey is definitely on my go-to Tampa list.

I was a vegan for 8 years and at the time they were the only ones doing vegan brunch . I enjoyed their selections but i cant comment on the regular food or drinks. This place is more of a gran and go as there is very limited seating and it is a rather small space that can feel packed very quickly so plan accordingly if you are looking to hangout. i went a couple times in the morning and there was just one person getting everything going , cooking and taking orders, i am not sure as of recent if this is still the case but if it is plan to wait a bit, was not ideal for a quick stop on the way to work.

Great coffee. Smooth and delicious. Cafe Cubano and Cappuccino- five star. Vibe of the place was ok. Probably wouldn’t hang out there much but great place to get good coffee. And we easily parked in the lot right beside the coffee shop. No need to pay for parking or parallel park.

My favorite vegan breakfast spot. Every item on the menu is delicious and I think I've had them all by now. All of their coffee it's fresh, delicious, and well roasted. Get the black hole if you need a jump like a drag queen leaping off a stage

This place is one those unique hole in the wall places where you can enjoy great coffee and good food. Vegan friendly menu options are abound. My favorite include the vegan breakfast sandwich and vegan iced latte.

First time here & the vibes are quite nice. A mini shop but has outlets & free wifi. Cuban coffee was super rich tasting. Parking is probably the only downside cause it's street parking with limitation. Staff was super friendly. Environment is very cozy. Reminds me of those small coffee shops in Berkeley, CA. The hidden gems 👌 Great place to play catch up with friends too. Will be back for a longer visit.

Great food, great coffee they allow dogs that behave that’s a big plus, was not really happy that at first one of the employees were not friendly when I was asking about one of the items on the menu as if I can’t read.. it’s still a 5 out of 5 due to the food and coffee with my pup 🐶

I ordered the vegan pesto panini with extra sauce today and it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had and my best friend thought so also!! The staff here is so nice and they do open mics as well. Edit: I moved away, but whenever I come back I visit to get a caprese panini and it is just as good and now they have even more vegan options 😊

Best vegan breakfast sandwich/burrito in Tampa. Better quality and bigger portions that other vegan breakfast food places in town. I’ve tried other places. This is the best. Never busy. Fast service. Chill and calm atmosphere. Coffee also tastes great.

I love this place and visit every single time I come to Tampa. Their coffee is phenomenal, this time, I had the snickersoodle latte with oat milk and it was a latte above the rest. They also have a number of vegan options, including an absolutely delicious vegan breakfast sandwich. Whether you're vegan or not, the vegan breakfast sandwich is the thing to get. I love the pressed bread. Servers are friendly and helpful, service is quick. The only way this place could improve is to get plates, silverware, and cups that are reusable. Whether you dine in or take it to go, they serve the food/coffee in a single use plastic container. If they didn't do that, I'd rate them 6 out of 5 stars.

Few times have I had such pleasant service and good food in one sitting, this is the case at Cafe Hey, nouveau Cafe style atmosphere yet unassuming and casual for sure. Authentic Cuban sandwiches are always a delight, and the ones my wife and I had were delish. Definitely recommend, thank you. Will definitely be there again to try something else from the great menu.

My friend and I went for lunch, and had a caprese salad that was vegan and delish! Cafe con leche was the best I have ever tasted! I have always enjoyed the food at Cafe Hey, and once again, they failed to disappoint.

Literally went here almost every day when we were in town. The food is so good and people are super nice.

We stayed at a hotel down the street and were looking for some affordable, yet unique food. We ended up at Cafe Hey and could not have been more happy. The environment was very quaint and the food was top-notch. My wife and I enjoyed our sandwiches (A-Z and the Rebel Rebel) with some ranch dill potato salad, which was great! The Vietnamese coffee was delicious as well. We will be back next time we are in the area!

This place is one of the best vegan friendly breakfast and coffee spots in downtown Tampa. If you’re looking for a coffee spot that has a ton of flavor options - this is the spot. And they have GOOD coffee - it’s rich and creamy coffee that you can pair with a variety of flavors. They once had an ube latte that was so good. Their breakfast is pretty good too. My boyfriend is vegan, and we typically like to get breakfast together in the weekends, but I struggle to find places that have both good coffee and good breakfast with options for my boyfriend. Cafe Hey, however delivers on both. Although they don’t have much variety on their daily breakfast menu, the do offer Sunday brunch specials occasionally to shake things up. And their daily breakfast menu has just enough variety to keep you coming back because you have enough options to try something different each time.

Really wanted to like this restaurant as the food is good (love the VLT) and the prices are fair. However, there are a couple of issues that cannot be ignored, one is that the online orders are rarely ready when stated and second, that the staff members here ceaselessly rub and touch their faces, ears, noses, hair, and whatever, while handling the food. This is DISGUSTING, and likely against some regulations. It was so bad by the woman working the register for my last visit (a pickup order) that I could not bring myself to eat the food and ended up giving it to some feral cats. I don't plan to return any time soon.

They have a lot of delicious vegan options. We had the hot ham sandwich and the breakfast burrito. Both were very flavorful, and had some kick!

Haven't had the food in a while so I cannot speak to that. I know they cater to the vegetarian/vegan crowd also. Light sandwiches for the most part. Bakery items if you're lucky. But that coffee, OMG.... So good. Every time. Sunday I stopped in and tried something a little different and it was delicious. Banana/toasted almond Iced latte with oat milk. 🔥 Sometimes they feature different artists work on their walls with options to buy. Not quite sure how it works though. I wanted to buy a piece last time and they said to reach out to the artist on Instagram and the dude never got back to me so it stayed on the wall. But go check em out for yourself.

Stopped by to check out the vegan options. Their coffees and stuff are great! I had an iced vegan coffee drink with oat milk and it was really good. I liked the pressed breakfast sandwich. The tofu scramble is ok. I would definitely go back if I was in the area. I bought a cookie too and it crumbled to pieces and powder and it was ok.

We did a quick visit to Tampa with family members who aren’t vegan like we are. We chose Cafe Hey for breakfast because they have both vegan and non vegan options. Everyone absolutely enjoyed their food. The coffee was amazing and the staff was super nice and accommodating. We would absolutely be back when in the area.

The worst Vietnamese coffee ever. Taste like very bad water. If you had Vietnamese coffee here, please know that it does not and should not taste like this. I also ordered a warm cappuccino. It was awful too. Tasted like warm whole milk, with no coffee. Idk how this place has good reviews. Edu disappointed because I went there because of the reviews.

Ended up having a 5 hour delay for my Greyhound bus and spent it there, having both an iced coffee and a Cuban banh mi. Overall, it was a great place to hang and the food and coffee was really nice. The staff were also very nice and commiserated with me about the delay...

Cafe Hey was in my list from a long time to have coffee from. On Sunday morning, we were looking for a place to have coffee and quick bite so we decided to visit Cafe Hey. Cafe Hey is about 20 minutes from our place and there is ample of parking spaces available near Cafe Hey. When we entered the cafe we saw that cafe was decorated with paintings from local artists, they also have a section of books and one can also read tampa bay times newspaper in the cafe while waiting for order. We directly went to order our coffee and quick bite. After browsing through the menu we decided to order Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Hot Latte with OatMilk, and for quick bite with coffee we ordered T'ank and Avocado Toast. After ordering we took our seats in the cafe. We soon got our coffee which was Vietnamese Coffee and Hot Latte with Oat Milk. The coffee was delicious and it was freshly brewed. We loved our coffees. We had to wait for few minutes before we got our food. T'ank and avocado toast was delicious made with cuban bread. The food was hot and bread was crispy and freshly made. We loved our food too. Amazing cafe with delicious coffee and food.

Great food, I enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches and the coffee was good. Reason for the one less star is because the coffee didn’t have strong flavor like I wanted. I asked for the added flavors and i think they should be a bit more generous with them. Otherwise I highly recommend!

Was in Tampa for a weekend and went back here twice because their vegan options were so good! Highly recommend getting the Cafe con leche. Delicious. They don't have anything like that where i live and it was amazing

Food was decent but it was the bad customer service that put a bad taste in my Mouth. I went twice. Both times I was polite and super courteous to the person that helped me but I didnt get the same in return. No good morning, no thank you or anything. I ordered in advance for pick up…the person helping me had my food in their hand and was holding it front of me. I went to reach for the food and the person gave me the total but then withdrew their hands with the food in it lol like I was going to grab the food and run without paying. The person maintained a tight grip on the food until my card was approved. The food was handed to me, I said thank you and got no response. Maybe they didnt hear me? So I said HAVE A GOOD ONE! and still didnt get a response…someone from the kitchen had to yell it back “thank you!” Idk. Person at the register was just off putting BOTH times and nobody wants food with a side of bad vibes 👎🏾

I love Cafe Hey! I go once a week with a group of coworkers right when they open and usually recommend it for quick lunch. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I love the Vietnamese iced coffee, festival turkey sandwich, and cuban toast.

I went in for lunch and the sandwich was delicious. The bread rolls they use are scrummy as well. Chai latte is not the best there though.

Eggs potatoes were bland nothing special really. Toast was good. I also order a sandwich egg bacon mayo 🍅. That was good me and my wife enjoyed it. I'll be going back to see what else they got.

Regular coffee was no good. Their Vietnamese coffee bland and not sweet. My gf is Viet and agreed. Sorry to leave a review like this but no good 🤷🏻‍♂️. $10 two coffees. The espresso shot on the side was good!

This place is becoming my new place to escape for a delicious, inexpensive Cuban coffee. I have to try some of the other options on the menu too. Lots of local art and books create a cozy feel at this place. They also have signs for community events and upcoming comedy nights. This is clearly a local favorite.

We had the vegan Cafe con Leche with oat milk and condensed coconut milk OMG! Serena is very friendly and so hospitable, made us feel right at home the minute we walked in. LOVED it here and will definitely be back soon!

Imagine being a visitor and the “locals” share w/ you & your friends to visit here. Expected to be disregarded. While the food was bland at best, it’s best to come grab a coffee/tea here and keep it moving.

Best vegan brunch in Tampa. Staff is extremely kind, welcoming, and phenomenal at their jobs! From brunch on sundays to Out! Shows and their involvement in Bloom Cafe Hey has become a community hub in the neighborhood. Sirena, Doll, and Marin create the perfect atmosphere you want to keep coming back to.

Lots of options for vegans and a great selection of custom coffee drinks. We stopped in early on a weekday and the barista was very welcoming and willing to customize our drinks. The vegan BLT was perfectly made. We look forward to trying the other vegan menu options!

Hours posted opening at 0900, got there at 0920 and were turned away saying that they don't open till 0930.

Cool little spot with good coffee. We tried their regular breakfast burrito and the vegan one; the vegan one was actually way more flavorful! The regular one has some tasty fresh veggies in it, but it’s surprising it doesn’t come with a salsa or something to give it flavor, it was kind of bland. They do have packets of hot sauce though.

Great coffee.... I Enjoyed my cafe con Leche and my husband enjoyed his caramel latte with banana syrup. My hubby ordered the Cuban sandwhich and found it tasty. I had the non traditional avocado toast.....it was more of a sandwhich with cream cheese tomato and avocado spread. I found it ok. But the bread made for both sandwiches was delicious.....we both raved about it.
