Fatima was a superb server. The lamb was perfect, the shrimp was amazing, and the ravioli di zucchha was impeccable.

I love the food and the ambience of this local restaurant. This place would easily merit four stars rather than three if it would up its game on service. The management needs to train the wait staff to do a much better job and stop being so amateurish. For example: stop interrupting people while they are eating; pronounce things on the menu correctly; check in on diners inconspicuously and politely; stop taking away one person's plate while others are still eating; know in advance which customer is to get which item; and finally see if diners want another glass of wine or some desert before unceremoniously dropping off their check. These are all just basic aspects of service that would complement everything else about this lovely restaurant.

Hidden Gem in downtown Decatur. Staff and service were phenomenal, our waiter was very attentive and to top it all off, Food was delicious. I will continue to bring all my dates there and pretend it’s my first time.

We didn't have reservations but they set us anyway and the food was absolutely delightful!

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere

We did Sunday brunch on Father’s Day. The menu has a lot of variety, the service was fine and food excellent. Highly recommend.

We had early dinner reservations for Father’s Day. They should have told us when we arrived about the broken AC so we could have made an informed decision whether to stay. Our server told us about the AC after we had gotten our drinks when we complained about the heat. We were going to order the $5 sangria special but our server said the special price did not apply on holidays, including Father’s Day. Extending this offer would have been the least they could have done considering how hot it was in our back corner. No fans, no visit from the manager, just bite the bullet! We have been long time customers and felt very unhappy about the way we were treated.

The food is exceptional- its like being with family

Beautiful blue bar with neatly set white cloth tables, the restaurant can lull you into thinking it's a quaint Cafe. It's so much more than that!! Lily's is a world-class restaurant nestled in downtown Decatur like a prized gem in a golden crown. It stands out with class, charm, and excellent service. The menu choices are as varied as the ingredients and will delight the eyes as well as the palette. There are no bad choices- only difficult choices. What to choose? So much to delight the senses! The drink menu is plentiful & $5 drinks are available. I highly recommend the lemon cello. Our group was served immediately & graciously (we had reservations). We had our choice of outdoor seating or indoor. We elected indoor seating. Our group took quite a while deciding what we'd indulge in, and the waitstaff was attentive and patient. The glazed salmon with lemon garlic potatoes and cherry chutney was DIVINE. The Gamberi Alla Rosa was perfectly balanced and the shrimp cooked perfectly. Seafood Pasta Ala Crema- a delicate sauce with a robust punch encompasses the pasta but doesn't overpower the Seafood. Definitely go for the Bread Pudding with caramel bourbon sauce. There's the delicious & unexpected twist with soaked cherries that must be experienced to believed. Cafe Lily has been in business for quite some time, and there's a reason for that: Balancing the classic with the modern is an art & Cafe Lily does it WELL.

Exceptional food for all courses.

I ordered the only vegan selection on the brunch menu. The waitress did not tell me that she brought real scrambled eggs. When I questioned, she took the dish back to the kitchen and returned saying they no longer offer the vegan eggs, even though they are on the menu. This could have been dangerous for someone allergic to eggs. At the end of the meal I was denied a discount by the waitress and the manager for the missing vegan eggs. I was offered no other compensation. My granddaughter’s French toast was so burned she couldn’t cut it with a knife. Water for hot tea and biscuits arrived barely warm while the butter was hard and cold. The fruit was unripe. We won’t be returning.

Nice location. Kinda rushed us to order, which made me uncomfortable. The falafel was not good. The rest of our party seemed to enjoy their food, tho.

We sat in the patio and it was very nice. The good was well prepared and presentation was great. Tasty and nutritious. Service friendly and efficient.

Visiting from Houston...Food was really tasty and fresh. Service was inconsistent. Some of the staff were nice, others were not friendly. Needs updating but overall would return to try other dishes.

My wife and I, along with another couple, had dinner on Thursday night, March 7th. Our reservations were early, 6:00, so the restaurant wasn't very busy. Our waitperson was inexperienced, but did their best, and the service was quite good. The ladies in our group ordered scallops and squash ravioli, both good. My friend and I both ordered the mussels, which were very small and over cooked, very average at best. The spicy red sauce which they were cooked and served in was very good. One thing which caused my rating to be average was we asked for bread (with caesar salads and our mussels) we were told they were out of bread. At 6:00, with a grocery one block away. That is absolutely unacceptable. If this restaurant is to be considered even an average restaurant, that type of service isn't going to work.

The customer service we received from the assistant manager was so unprofessional and rude. The way she spoke to us made us feel very uncomfortable. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Food was good and the waitress was really good. She even tried to get me some pita bread to dip in the olive oil and sauce from the dish since they were out of their usual. However, the chef said in a nasty and aggressive manner (i was seating close to the kitchen area) that they weren't going to take anymore orders and could not spare any pita pieces. The waitress came to my table and said she couldn't bring me any because the kitchen was closed. The biggest disappointment came from the fact that it was 8:45 and the restaurant closes at 9pm. I just don't think that chef cares about the patrons. I recommend retraining or replacing.

Delicious food with lots of brunch options, additionally good gyros. Parking can be tricky at peak times.

This is a terrific restaurant. My wife and I have been dining there for 20 years. The menu is not expansive, but that’s the heart of the great appeal of the place. There are always chef’s specials, but you know that when you go there, the entrees they regularly offer will be so predictably, consistently excellent, that frequent change is not needed. The tastefully appointed interior is quiet - so you can actually hear each other - the servers are friendly and efficient and one of the co owners is on hand to see that things go well. I recommend Cafe Lily without reservation. Try it. You won’t regret it.

Everything on the menu is amazing! Needless to say, it was my first time eating there, and with the dishes my girlfriend and I ordered, I'm sure everything else is spectacular. They don't miss and everything is made with love. Chef's kiss! Why are you reading the reviews? Go to Café Lily NOW!

Right when I walked in the door the host Luke was very nice to me and my grandparents. The food was very good and the chef was so nice!

I am giving 5 stars for service only because of Deshawn, my actual waitress disappeared but he was always there taking dishes away that were done asking if anything further was need. His personality is like fireworks on the forth of July. I will visit again but he needs to be made a server so he can be paid his worth. 10 star for Deshawn!!!!!! By the way the food was excellent the Greek omelet was amazing!!

Where do I begin?! What kind of 'fine dining' restaurant serves burnt bread? This is not a fine dining restaurant. Our server, he would not stop trying to converse to where we were all uncomfortable. The crab cakes were not fresh, they were horrible-tasted like canned crab. I do not even want to waste anymore of my time where this cafe is concerned. Regret wasting my friends and my time coming here. It blows my mind that it has been around since the 1990s. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Many kudos over many years. Disappointed now. A manager with flat attitude? No bread served with entrees. Time to go shopping.

We have been going here since we moved to Decatur in 2000. Owner was known to make sure their EXTENSIVE zin wine list was well received. We used to tease him and ask what was good (knowing full well) and he would bring out a three wine tasting. ( Bring that back - we were often than not surprised with a wine we’d never tasted.) Unfortunately he passed and it was left to his wife and son who carried the tradition. Son is also (or was) exec chief. Food quality and service are still excellent. Highly recommended. This is one of our “go-to” places for out of town guests. The mussels and the calamari dishes are superb. (They have the most delectable grilled bread to accompany them. Can’t make this at home.) Used to have an absolutely to-die for pair and endive salad which they should bring back. (You listening?)

The food and service has been good in the past, but today, me and a coworker had to wait for our order longer than normal because of what an employee told us was "confusion in the kitchen". We both ordered the same order, but with two (2) different names obviously, and when we got to the restaurant to pick up our food, only one (1) of our orders were made. This also happened the last time we ordered a few months ago - because we ordered the same thing, one of our orders was not done when we arrived because they assumed it was just one (1) order. It's a restaurant so it's not uncommon for people to have the same orders, so there seems to be an organization issue here. Also, our Gyros were decent today, but both of our fries were cold, hard and crunchy like chips. It seems the food is only good and fresh when dining in which is disappointing. Not worth the $18 spent.

Not a pleasurable experience . Lots of yelling and profanity coming constantly from the kitchen. All the employees seemed on edge and a manager asking if we need our check while we were still drinking our bottle of wine and it was not closing time.. Our server was great but seemed unnerved when the manager was trying to speed us out on a Wednesday night when the restaurant was not even full. Not an enjoyable experience and the food was subpar. Would not reccomend.

Best restaurant we have in Decautur. Service is impeccable, and lots of great items to choose from. My typical and favorite order- Nicoise salad, and dinner bread service (amazing), and dessert- tiramisu with decaf cappuccino. love this place, manay happy memories..

While visiting friends in the area, we have been going to Lily's since 2012. It has always been a good place. During 2021, resulting from the Pandemic, we did have a challenging lunch that was due to staff shortages but they tried to do as well as they could. Our most recent visit October 22nd, showed them at their peak! The food was great, service to die for and good oversite by management. Our dishes included Calamari, Seafood Pasta, a not so simple hamburger and Pinchitos. A nice bottle of Chardonnay added a fine touch. While parking can be a challenge as would be anywhere in Decatur, it is worth the challenge to dine there. We have had several lunches and dinners there over the years and plan on coming back whenever we are in the area. We highly recommend Cafe Lily for any occasion.

WED night... Not the most favorable dining experience with family and friends. I had an appetizer , a salad, and an entrée, and we all ordered at the same time, but on my entrée, i waited, and waited... While the 4 others in my party, went ahead and ate, I nervously kept looking for our server. After explaining that no, it didnt arrive... (Do you see any dishes, in front of me? I guess she had another one made up on the fly, but I decided to take it to go, as everyone else had finished eating. I feel like i should have vehemently and loudly refused to have the group gratuity of 25% added to my bill.

This was my first visit. I went today for lunch. KB made my experience amazing. My sister and I mentioned being lactose intolerant, and he made sure everything was served dairy free. We didn't even ask. It's weirdly rare to visit a restaurant and actually receive genuine, attentive service. Our meal was delicious (jerk chicken). I'll be back for lunch to try the falafel.

Edit: I cannot recall the name of our waitress, but she was working the early brunch shift, had wonderful energy and colorful attire/art and absolutely earned her tip. She had served us before and was part of what made us want to return.

Cafe Lily has been my favorite restaurant haunt for over twenty years. I can only think of one dish out of so many I've had that I didn't care for. Since I allow a mulligan, I'll give them an A + for a very long track record of extraordinary food. The wine is very good too. Their pan-Mediterranean style went from Spain to Greece and all parts between. But now they've included a Moroccan-style dish as well. (I need to try that some day!) I can't say enough about them. I've taken family and friends there with equally positive results.

Get the pinchitos when you come here! We first came to Cafe Lily on a whim years and years ago and it’s still the best meal we have ever eaten, at any restaurant. We drive from central FL over and over again just to come here! The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. We recommend this place to everyone.

I love Cafe lily. The food here is unique and absolutely fantastic. You cannot have a bad meal here. I live in Sandy Springs and drive over whenever I can to enjoy a great meal. My favorite item on the menu is the goat cheese filled ravioli but so many other things are delicious and they have a great wine list to top it off. This is a must go whether you are in the area or looking for somewhere new to try

I have been a visitor alone, with friends and family and on special occasions to Cafe Lily for over 20 years and have always been very happy with the service and ambience. In the early days Anjelo was very welcoming followed by Anthony, Betty and Miguel. It seems like Katie was always graciously there as a server and now as a Co-owner.

Our visit with a friend of ours during the summer was our second time at the restaurant. The entire menu is excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. The lamb dishes are some of the best I've ever had at any restaurant. I recommend it highly to anyone!

There's a reason this place has been around for more than 20 years. I've been coming here as often as I can for around 7 of those years now because of their consistently world class service, amazing food, and now killer drinks as well. They've always had one of the best wine programs in metro Atlanta, but within the last several years, they've really found their footing in the cocktail program––offering on-theme interpretations of classics, like their Cardamom Old Fashioned. Other "must tries" include the Calamari al la Plancha, the Gigande Bean Salad, and the Pinchitos (their signature dish). Their made-to-order Chicken Parm is a personal favorite. I've honestly never had anything that didn't exceed expectations, so whatever catches your eye, you can't go wrong. Don't miss out on this neighborhood classic.

We enjoyed our food and environment immensely!! So cute, intimate, and classy French bistro for downtown Decatur. Our server Chad (glasses/beard), was super courteous, professional, and attentive!! I chose signature chargrilled Spanish-spiced lamb tenderloin. Super tasty!!! My companion chose the special-- Grilled Tuscan chicken with alfredo pasta. Delicious as well!! White wine selection and Basque Burnt Cheesecake completed our experience. ABSOLUTELY returning!!

This has been one of the best restaurant experience I've had in a while. It was our first time there and the service was amazing, extremely kind and it felt like they were actually talking to us instead of repeating a monotonous dialogue that they have said 100 times a day. The environment feels classy and elegant and the food, oh gosh the food was incredible 😋 😍 I ate the salmon with a tomato soup and salad, and as the entrance we got the calamari which looks super fun. Totally recommended and I will for sure be there soon again.

Had lunch with a friend today, Brielle our server was soo pleasant, knowledgeable and wonderful. The food was excellent. I got the salmon, bread pudding and Malibu Barbie cocktail. He got the Caesar salad, chicken parm & the cardamom Moscow drink 10/10. We’ll be back!

I went to Cafe Lily for my birthday brunch. It was my first time there. KB, our server, was pleasant and professional. The Chef, Darren Johnson, even came out and chatted with us. Chef Johnson was very kind. The food was delicious especially the French toast! The shrimp and grits was amazing, and the bottomless mimosas were light and refreshing. My family and I will be back. Invited a friend here for lunch; never been here before. Upon entering, I really wasn't greeted, but eventually seated. While waiting for my lunch companion, I noticed a worker (who turned out to be the manager) who energetically engaged with the next group of customers that came in. I overheard them being asked how they were doing, if they had ever been there before, given the specials, etc. I was taken a back because I had never been here, and I definitely did not receive a greeting like those customers and felt basically ignored and unimportant. We both ordered the lamb burger which was nothing impressive. It was dry/overcooked, the simple toppings, e.g., lettuce, were scarcely visible (as if they cost a small fortune), and the dill sauce was bland and did not help much, definitely was not worth $20! After our uneventful lunch, I asked for a manager to express my disdain with the display of excellent customer service extended to the customers seated right AFTER me. I was told that since the server was behind with that particular table.....yadayada, basically fluff and nothing that I or my dining companion cared to hear, entertain, or believe. As a restaurant, if you want to succeed in excellent service, you give the same service to everyone regardless of what is going on. Giving excuses as to why some customers received the royal treatment and others do not is beyond gross and unacceptable. Unfortunately, the complimentary bread pudding (which was actually the best part of the lunch, nice try but no cigar), did NOT cover the mishap of providing excellent service or bland food at all! Won't be back or recommend.

I love this place! Perfect for lunch or brunch! I tried the raspberry mimosas and my friend had the best lunch, their daily special with poached eggs and smoked salmon with arugula. So good! Then we tried the tiramisu and the cheesecake- absolutely amazing! Steph was the BEST! Ask for him, he’s so thoughtful and sweet and knows the menu extremely well! Highly recommend!

Cafe Lily is the total package! A wide variety of delicious food options, wine, cocktails and desserts. The staff is always friendly and helpful, very attentive. Plus, we’re usually able to get reservations the day of. And they have a great lunch too!

Celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. Our entire dining experience was nothing short of Amazing. Server Amelia was friendly and quiet accommodating to our needs. Selina’s drink recommendations were perfect. Ty made sure our meal ended with the BEST bread pudding and ice cream in Atlanta. Thank you Amelia, Selina and Ty for such an amazing night!!

They have great Mediterranean food. Excellent service and management. The hummus with olives is the best in Decatur. The food did not take long to come out.

The staff is super friendly. The bar manager even came to our table to ask about our drinks. And the drinks are AMAZING, not to mention the FOOD! Definitely make this a regular date night location!

It's a cute restaurant and the outside seating was lovely. Service was decent. However, the food and drinks were very, very mediocre. We went for brunch and ordered the french toast with thick cut bacon, the Tuscan omelet with polenta, an Irish whiskey drink, and a white sangria. The french toast was very soggy the first time around; the server was very nice and brought out a second plate of French toast that was better, but still not great. The veggies in the omelet were barely cooked, but I did really like the cheesy polenta. Our drinks were just gross. We could only take a couple of sips. To be fair, we did come towards the end of the shift and that may have something to do with the food quality? Maybe. It shouldn't matter though. Also, the manager wanted to charge us $15 for a drink that very clearly said it was $10 on the menu. Our server made sure it didn't happen but it the whole ordeal took an extra 15 minutes to resolve which was annoying.

I went here for brunch on Sunday. The weather was beautiful so we asked to sit outside. Once outside, no one said anything to us for about 20 mins. During this time, several employees walked passed us serving other tables and we weren't even greeted. Finally, I walked inside & asked the hostess if she knew who our server was and she says she will check. Shortly after this, someone brings us water and runs away so fast that we weren't able to ask any of the questions that we had about the menu. Some more time passes and someone else comes over and finally this is our server. She was nice enough, but overall I wasn't impressed. The food was the only highlight, but I wouldn't return to this restaurant.

We were in downtown Decatur scoping out the area for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Cafe Lily. We initially found it on OpenTable. We got the mussels with a mix of red and white sauce. For the main courses we got the salmon dish as well as the chicken parm dish. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Axil took care of us that evening and recommended everything—she did an outstanding job. Even with the drinks—I had the special old fashioned which had an outstanding taste and my partner had a similar version of a cosmo but stronger and with a vodka from New Zealand that Axil allowed him to taste prior to utilizing. She went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. Our experience was truly complete, not just because of the quality of the food, drinks and ambiance, but because of Axil—for that we are grateful. She was personable, available, and knowledgeable. Thank you for everything!

Café Lily has done a wonderful job of balancing its past and moving toward the future. While many see this as a place just for senior citizens, it has freshened its menu items and cocktails! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Give this Decatur institution a try!!

Went here one Sunday after church for brunch and they did not disappoint. It was my first time and the food and service was great. I also had the awesome opportunity of meeting the chef after they closed for brunch. He was super nice. Hats off to this place.

My experiences here have been uneven from the time they first opened, but everyone seems to like the food, so I give it another try from time to time. No more. They shouldn't put eggs Benedict on the menu if they can't poach an egg....

My daughter called and reserved a table for us.Her, myself (mother) and grandmother. The table was near waiters area and dark. My daughter asked for a window table. The host didn't want to give it. Said it was for someone else. But gave it to us. The other person never came. Drew took our order. He was nice but disappeared. My daughter had asked about it earlier. An hour and 15 mins after arrival we get our meal. We thought it should be free. The place is almost empty now. Sunday brunch about 2:30. Other customers got their meal on time. The host didn't want to give us a table, the manager is watching us and never once ask if we were being served, and meal arrives very late. The only person who was okay with me was Drew. He made a big mistake but customer should not have to pay the price.
