Since when is a group of 3 a large party? I’ve been coming here for 10+ years with my family and unfortunately we won’t be coming here any more. I came to Cafe Liz on Sunday with my mother and grandmother. We waited for 30-45 minutes to get our appetizer and around an hour for the waitress to take our order. It took us 1h 30min to get our main plates and they were lackluster. The steak was unseasoned and half of the bacalao was inedible due to the cut of the “fillet”. To top it all off our bill came with a “large party fee” for our table of three with a 18% tip. Since when is a party of 3 a large party? They could’ve easily gotten a larger tip (which we’ve given for years) if they didn’t try to pull a sleazy move like that. Cafe Liz is a shell of what it used to be.

Cool spot with great service. I got their steak lunch special for 15$ and was happy. It’s a lot of food. I had French fries black beans and their chicken soup. I’ll eat a well done steak but if that’s not for you definitely ask them to cook it for less time. I saw some other pictures and want to try something else in the future. Seems like it would be fun at night.

Excellent place, it has a very familiar restaurant area with an extraordinary quality of food and we also cannot leave behind its bar, which in addition to having good prices, the atmosphere is great for dancing and has Five Star service.

It was so gratifying to visit Café Liz after so many years. I think around 2003 was the last time I was there and since I had the opportunity to be in the city for a couple of days this place was at the top of my places to have food and drinks. As always it was a great experience like back in the day.

I just went to Cafe Liz last night with some family and it is delicious. The food, service, and the restaurant looks very nice. If you live in Philadelphia, or are in the area, this is defenitely a hidden gem.

Não é restaurante português. É um restaurante que serve comida portuguesa. Fala-se espanhol até. Para nunca mais voltar. O pub por baixo do restaurante é muito manhoso. A comida não posso dizer que foi má, chouriça assada e bacalhau frito, estilo à Braga. Mas para um verdadeiro português, não é para voltar não.

This is my favorite spot to eat Brazilian Food at a decent price, there Sangria is so delicious always go for the one with Liquor, you will thank me.

My wife and I have been going here for more than 20 years, and we had our daughter's Rehearsal dinner prior to her wedding, there. Always a very enjoyable experience with excellent shrimp and paella dishes, and the service is extremely welcoming and spirited. It would be very difficult to find any significant complaint about this restaurant. We always enjoy the Vino Verde there also. RBC

Cafe Liz was great. Great flavorful food and great service. We had the clams in garlic sauce, shrimp in garlic sauce, chicken wings and the Bass. Will be back soon.

Excellent food. The kind of place I'm kind of wondering if I should even review because someone will try to gentrify it. The music was on full blast at 6pm, so if you are expecting a quiet dinner go elsewhere. This is where you go to get down.

The food is not bad but a bit expensive for the place , also the server was very dislike, and all the time with a bad actitud , and the bill was not good ,we have to check two times and of course, around 60$ more so absolutely we never back to this place ...

Since they made me eat French fries, instead of portuguese " carne de porco à alentejana" I never went back to that noisy place.

We had dinner tonight and the food was exceptional! We were the only people in the restaurant tonight which was a little sad because the food and Lambrusco (wine) were amazing. We had the fried calamari, polvo (octopus with onions), Bife a Portuguesa, and Paehlha de Velenciana. So much delicious food and at amazing prices for the great quality of steak and seafood. Will definately come back the next time I'm in Philly.

This place is fabulous, The customer service is great. I love it because I can come with my family and have a nice dinner and I can also go downstairs to the bar and have fun. The owner of this place is extremely nice, costumer service oriented and the people are beyond pleasant bar and restaurant. I can recommend this place 100 times.

Went there under a sad circumstance. However, the people I was with was all the LIVE!! Just got a little crowded for me and it was a lot of family! Will go there again when I get back to Philly.

My nephew and his wife always make reservations @ Cafe Liz, whenever they're in town. We all get excited about all the delicious food on the menu. My T-bone steak was well cooked and still tender. I added the shrimp in garlic and wine sauce. They're my favorite! My two sides of choice were white rice and tostones, and of course a glass of red sangria. FOOD IS YUMMY!!!!

We live in Philadelphia but had never gone to a Portuguese restaurant here. Cafe Liz is what we were looking for. It's not fancy or upscale, but it is the real thing -- authentic Portuguese food and families out for dinner. We had the paelha (one with and one without meats) and it was delicious. The portions were huge, so we took home enough for another dinner. The staff were polite and considerate. We loved it.

The customer service is excellent, the prices a bit high but it is worth it because the food is delicious and fresh, the seafood and meat of very good quality

I didn’t eat in but ordered take out for Father’s Day. My husband loves Bife à portuguesa ( Portuguese steak ) I drove 45min. just for him. whenever we go to a Portuguese restaurant that’s what he orders. He said this was the best one he has ever ever had. Great job café Liz! ❤️🇵🇹

I was one of the security there ,that spot always been the safest bar /club I know. I was working there for 4 years.anf I still have a warm welcome from the owner filemto and his beautiful wife.it becomes a social club.modt ppl who go there are the regular. Cause they feel at home and safe.even though we are not around much.

The best Portuguese restaurant in Philly, hands down!! Have been customers for over 10 years and the quality and consistency of the food does not change. More importantly they have always treated us like family. In fact, their family atmosphere is infectious as customers we don’t even know have casual conversations and eventually become family as well.

I been going to this Cafe for over 10 yrs I don’t have a single complaint about it the food is mouth watering and the service is second to none I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Looking forward to that lobster with garlic shrimp. Thank you for that wonderful food y’all cook.

Nice little restaurant upstairs from a bar. I shared a wonderful octopus salad as an appetizer and had a very nice quail platter as a main course. My wife had a good paella, more than enough to take half home. The flan was delicious. Service was excellent.

Kept it simple! Got some homemade chicken fingers and fried green plantains. The chicken was great-- crispy, juicy and flavorful. The tostones were okay but could've used a sprinkle of salt and garlic.
