I have been coming to Cafe Lynn about once a year since they were in the old Burger King. By far the best restaurant in St Tammany Parish and the Northshore in general, a very good contender for top ten in the GNO area. Like a fool, of the half dozen times I've been here over the years I have never taken a photo until today and I have taken it of the unceremonious part of my meal. I wasn't particularly floored by the creme brulee or cobbler on this visit but as you can see it was not that big of a deal. I can stomach a 8/10 dessert on a 10/10 experience The crab cake Lynn is a must. The side salad with the fried goat cheese is a must. Try whatever entree and order something different next time. I like the fish almondine and the steak but if they are running something new and unique for special, full send, but it.

The food and service are excellent every time we go.

What an absolutely lovely cafe! It was our first visit, but will definitely not be our last. The menu has all the divine regional seafood selections with French flair. We thoroughly enjoyed the seafood gumbo, sautéed crab claws and soft-shell crab entree (all outstanding)! Our server, Ellie, was so friendly and very attentive~ it was an all-round perfect dining experience.

Delicious duck and attentive server, even among Mother's Day weekend crowds. It is a bit cramped in there and very loud when it is full, but it's worth it!

Quiet little hidden gem in old mandeville. Outstanding food , only real French food on the Northshore. Atmosphere is amazing and elegant. Service is outstanding

Food was phenomenal. For the price I expected a much nicer atmosphere. If I wanted to have to talk over the people next me I could have gone to Chili's. Add to it the fact that I felt like our server didn't really want to serve us it made for a less than perfect date night.

Food and service were Outstanding. Will definitely return. Nick our waiter was Excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. He was Personable and very helpful. I had the duck which was scrumptious. There were several of us in the private room and everyone raved about the service and food.

This is what I got when I ordered my pasta.. the chicken looks under cooked and the whole thing looks as if they just threw everything in the box this is very is so acceptable! Then the bread pudding I got also had under cooked eggs at the bottom. Very disappointing and will no longer be going back.

Cafe Lynn is accessible, one story level, spacious, classic, warm, romantically charming even for lunch. It host a small bar area with a few tables and a dining room. Would suggest reservations if you plan on eating formally. The food is southern Louisiana style dressed up. As for myself, I met my husband here for lunch. I have no complaints. The facility is clean. It’s not over crowded. It warm and charming with 10 star service. 🥈

Our family of eight had dinner and everything we ordered was phenomenal. From the appetizers to desserts. All hot and as ordered. Service was spot on. I’ve dined here many times over the years and can tell you that it’s always very good. Trey bien Cafe Lynn!

My wife and I love this place. Try the crab claws both ways! Everything i have had here has been phenomenal. The service is absolutely wonderful. My drink was never empty, and the table was cleared continuously. This place offers a great range of similar yet unique dishes. You can have a simple lunch with a friend for $50. After appetizers and drinks, it can get pricey, but it's worth it.

Love this restaurant. Very disappointed in last nights reservation. Took a new friend to eat and we were rushed through the whole night. We were told to hurry up and order because they had some one coming in and they needed to bus our table. There were empty tables for people to sit at and there were other tables that were there before us. They weren’t asked to hurry up. My friend was not impressed. The food was delicious but we did not like being rushed.

Always a fine meal and experience. Thanks to the chef and to Mackenzie for taking care of us.

Hidden gem on the northshore. Everything is quite good. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

This restaurant never fails to create top-notch food !

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal - fried calamari, crabmeat Nathan, Chicken Alfredo, and Crispy Duck Confit. The calamari was a very generous serving with a nice house dip. Crabmeat Nathan was amazing, I knew I would love it and my wife said she liked it so much she would get her own next time. Chicken Alfredo has to be the largest portion I've ever seen. The Duck Confit was perfect. We split a Creme Brulee at the end, it was delicious but was still cold in the middle - they needed to heat it up a little bit more. We went on Friday night, and without a reservation only got a high top in the bar area, right on front of the door. We felt like the unofficial greeters, but I didn't mind so much. If you want a table away from the flow of traffic be sure to call ahead!

My wife, daughter and another couple came for a pre-show dinner last night and it was excellent ( so was the 30X90 show - The Producers). Veronica did a great job helping us never let my iced tea be empty for more than a minute. I started with an oysters Logan with bleu cheese that was delicious (picture attached); Then we all shared fried calamari that was also very good ( picture also attached); We shared a French onion soup, very cheesy and delicious (picture below); My wife and daughter each had the crab cake entree ( my one bite was very good) one picture inserted; I had the quail special that was excellent ( picture below) I also had a brownie a la mode for dessert, it was very tasty but I didn’t get a picture. Perfect pre-show dinner spot!!

Wonderful food and service! I had the Crab Nathan - creamy, cheesy and packed with crab. Also some wonderful French Onion soup. Our server (Emily?) was prompt, courteous and made our visit even better! It was my first visit and she was great at offering suggestions on the menu. I live in AZ so it will be a while until I return but Cafe Lynne will be a must when I return! Wonderful Southern hospitality and world class food.

We hadn’t been since before the COVID but the food was still excellent. And we were glad they survived where so many did not. I’ve always felt if the foot is great give a 5. The pasta my wife had was a little dry but other than just asking for some more sauce it was great. Service was good and not over baring. We’ll put them right back at the top of our list again.

Decent food. Expensive. Could use some spice. My crab cake entree was too much breading. My husband got shrimp and fries. Very expensive for 6 fried shrimp and fries. Waitress was great. Atmosphere was average. Place was pretty empty . Probably won’t be back because expensive for average food and atmosphere .

They know how to cook fish as well as any restaurant in New Orleans. In general, you have to go to NOLA to get skilled chefs that can pan sear trout with an almondine sauce. Cafe Lynn is the exception.

We visit Cafe Lynn for occasions and, once or twice a month. The foods, ranging from locally caught fish, to steaks, duck and quail, are always expertly prepared. The service is always impeccable. We have never been disappointed.

Even though they were out of duck, our meal was amazing and Martha is the best!

This was a big disappointment. We have been here many times before, but this time the wait staff seemed to be only high school or college age. A request for a table move was rejected. A request for additional butter (given one large pat for a table of 4) never came. Finally had to get some off of another larger table. The waitress only took the order, others brought out the food. Other requests for a steak sauce were "no, we do not have that". Good luck getting water refilled. We have tried their desserts in the past and already knew not to order them. The lamb and filet are good, but not good enough when you can only get the mushy potato with some gravy and green beans...those are on every plate. Not expecting to go to this restaurant again.

Delicious French restaurant in Mandeville. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had a large party and all of our food came out hot and at the same time. I had the duck and it was fabulous. We all tried the desserts. I think the blueberry cobbler was the winner.

Bought our catered Thanksgiving turkey, dressing, and cranberry. Was met with a smiling face, young man carried it out to our vehicle, and the food was delicious!

Very nice staff! The serving size was huge and the food was fantastic. The waitress we had was amazing. I do not remember her name but she was Burnette. The atmosphere was very fancy. The name kinda threw my wife and I off as we came in shorts, swimwear, and a cutoff shirt but none the less they greeted us with very a kind and nice welcome. Highly recommended!

My wife and I came for an early dinner 09/24 before a show at the 30 by 90 theatre. They were already fairly busy at 5:45, but not quite full yet. Good thing we made reservations. As tables filled up, the noise level made having a conversation awfully difficult. For the two of us we started with the crab claw special that was excellent and must have had more than 30 little claws (picture attached); For entrees: - I had the lamb chops that were excellent ( picture attached) and a side salad with fried goat cheese added - also very good; - my wife had the Shrimp Persillade (picture attached) that was also excellent. For dessert we had: - brownie a la mode (picture below) that was delicious; - bread pudding that was almost like french toast (picture below) mouth watering. My couple glasses of Pinot Noir added to the delicious experience.

Restaurant was extrememly hot, we sweat the whole time. Found hair in food. Took FOREVER to receive food as well as the check. Will NEVER go back!!

Food was excellent, especially the crabmeat dip but the restaurant was extremely loud. Excellent service but we couldn’t wait to leave because of the noise level.

Part of the problem with Cafe Lynn is the noise and I don't know what they can do about it. Just as my friend and I were leaving today, a group of young people came in and were seated rather close to us. Boisterous doesn't begin to cover it. If they had been there the whole time, my friend and I wouldn't have been able to converse and it was already noisy before they entered. The food was delicious. I'm particularly impressed with the escargot - a big boat full of them, not a measly six in an "official" escargot dish. My friend's salad dressing was much too vinegary but his crab cake was marvelous. Food - 4; ambiance - 1.

My husband and I would like to give this restaurant 10 stars if possible! Service was great, the food was fantastic! Definitely one of our favorite in town!

Cafe Lynn has by far ,hands down, the best tasting food on the Northshore, is a hidden fact, the chef/owner has trained under the most talented chef from the original laprovence ,the staff and service are very experienced and knowledgeable, I would recommend this establishment before any other restaurant around.

Cafe Lynn consistently sets the bar on how to properly prepare and serve their guests. Our entire experience from appetizers through dessert was exceptional. Thank you Chef Joey for sharing your masterpieces.

For years now, I have visited Cafe Lynn. Its crab claws are delicious. However, we ordered Eggplant Gabriella for an appetizer: a large slice of eggplant topped with shrimp and sauce. Yummy. Recently we had the fried soft shell crab: it was the best I’ve had in years. All the desserts are delicious, too. We’ve always had an exceptional meal here.

Great food and great atmosphere.

Food was delicious. Unfortunately we waited 20 min before anyone even came to our table... Which we had to call one of the waiters over. We waited 35 min to receive our first drink which were terrible (worst old fashion my husband ever had). There is No excuse for how late someone came to our table to acknowledged us. The establishment is not big and there were atleast 4-5 empty tables. Like I said food was delicious and maybe we will come back at another time.

Had reservations for 6:30, got there a few minutes early and was immediately seated. Payton was our waitress and she said that she was new but she gave prompt and efficient service. Danny had the red fish almondine and I had the crab cakes, we also had fried crab claws as an appetizer. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. We will definitely dine there again if we are back this way!

This was my first time at this restaurant. The food was excellent. The service was excellent, as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

We came for an early dinner last night, ahead of another show at the 30X90 theatre a couple of blocks away. It is located conveniently along Florida at the end of a strip center. There was plenty of room between tables (picture inside the main dining room is attached). It did fill up by the time we left at about 7:15. For my wife and I, we had: -shared a Bleu Oyster Logan, fried oysters with blue cheese on top, that was excellent ( picture attached); - we each had a side salad that came with our entrees; - she had the Fish du jour, black drum almondine ( picture attached), that she said was very good - but didn't even share a bite; - I had the softshell crab special over beans & potatoes, which was also excellent (picture attached with mostly eaten salad behind it); - We still had plenty of time, so we ordered a Blueberry cobbler dessert to share (picture, after it was partly eaten, is attached), it was ok, but hardly any blueberries, mostly cake under the large scoop of ice cream. - My two glasses of Chardonnay finished it all off nicely. Jeanne V, Kennedy, & Grace all did a very nice job helping us. We most likely will come back before another show in the future.

I surprised my wife for a quick overnight stay for Valentines weekend. After doing my research of places to eat, I came across Cafe Lynn. When I say everything about this place was perfect, I mean it. From the second we walked through the door, we were met immediately with prompt, friendly service. It was obvious the staff work as a team as service was very attentive. The menu offered more than enough options. The food was superb. We will definitely be back very soon and will bring friends. We appreciate the hard work from the staff to the owners for making this a very memorable night!!! BRAVO!!

Cafe Lynn has a wonderful menu. Went with six friends and they all enjoyed the meal. I had the Pan Seared Quail, with vegetables, do delicious.

Everything is delicious. I recommend the chicken parm and bread pudding.

The food was delicious. Hot. Fresh. Excellent portions. Great price. Our server was wonderful. We called last minute for a party of 8. We are in town to see our Grandchildren. They made us feel so welcome. The kids meals were huge and the price was phenomenal.

Chef Joey is one of the best Chefs in St. Tammany. Cafe Lynn is a must if you really love flavor. It can be very busy, every great place is, so call ahead and make a reservation. It isn't required, but it sure can't hurt to take advantage of calling ahead.

Very romantic and the food is very good.

You can always tell about a restaurant, the staff, and the character the kitchen and ownership when you have to send back a steak that was overcooked. Mine was, and the entire staff was very receptive and accommodating. We loved it and intend to go back.

Nice little cafe. Good food and more moderately priced. Went for Sunday brunch. Veal Benedict was good and Duck was as well. Escargot was decent. They have a small bar and establishment was very clean. Friendly staff.

Ordered what I had the last visit - chicken breast with capers. Very good but a tad dry. Others had the same and they enjoyed it. The rest had the blue cheese salad with a side crab cake and loved it. Orange cosmos were scrumptious! Not cheap.

We have been here twice. The first time was a week night. Only a couple of other tables were occupied and the service was very good and the food was fine though the wine list was lacking. The second time we went, they had a completely full restaurant. We had reservations and were seated on time, but it went downhill from there. We are hoping for a special night out, but it was so crowded and noisy we could barely talk to each other. The wait staff was doing their best but were literally running through the cramped dining room trying to keep up which was distracting and unsettling.The chaos was barely behind the scenes. Our order was taken within a reasonable amount of time. It took a little longer than in should have to get our appetizers. Mine arrived 5 minutes before my husband's, which was awkward. Then the salads arrived quickly, before we had finished our appetizers. Then the main courses lagged 30 minutes after the salads were cleared. We observed the table next to us having similar problems. It appeared that food was coming out of the kitchen in no particular order and the staff was just trying frantically to get it to the tables. We tried to order a bottle of wine with dinner. The first bottle they brought was the wrong one. Then we were told the bottle we ordered was sold out. So was our second choice. And our third. Of the entire wine list, more wines were sold out than available. So we gave up on the wine. The food was okay, not great. Generally lacking in imagination and creativity. Overall, too salty. Next time we want a fine dining experience, we will go across the lake to New Orleans.

We had a wonderful supper. French onion soup, salad with fried shrimp, and fried fish fresh hot bread. Christmas music was playing and they had a beautiful Christmas tree.

My wife and I had dinner here not long ago, we have been to Mandeville many times over the years but this was our first experience at Cafe Lynn and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and our server Monica was outstanding!

Food and service always excellent

We had lunch here based on good reviews and recommendations from friends. We were here during the week, and it was not crowded. Staff was very personable and friendly. We were immediately seated and as other reviewers have pointed out, the outside is nothing like the inside. Very relaxing place to eat. I am surprised they haven't done more to make the outside a little more welcoming, although the tables out front are nice. Good choices on the menu, we had the trout and chicken piccata. Both were very good, nice presentation; I would definitely get the trout again. Prices are good for the very tasty meal. We would recommend and will be back!

It took long to be served my salad was mostly greens (I sent it back for more goat cheese and prosciutto. The seared fish was dry)) and it was freezing cold.. bring a jacket!

French onion soup is a great start! The seared duck in creole honey mustard sauce... just melts in your mouth. Great creme brulee. Beautiful meal, definitely reccomend.

Went for Taste of Tammany lunch special of crab and shrimp risotto. Absolutely delicious. Great service. Will be back to order from regular menu which looked wonderful.

Everything tastes amazing. From the cocktails, to the the appetizers, to the soup and salad, to the main entree. I recommend the wedding cake martini, the crab claws, seafood gumbo, and the risotto that's on the summer special menu.
