Gorgeous brunch with very friendly staff. The food is great and the service is very good. The younger waitress was very family friendly and talked through options and spoke to our son about what he’d like. She also brought out games for the family to play. Excellent!

I would say the seafoods are not very fresh. The food is overpriced for the quality. The service is good, and we enjoyed the nice weather and lake view.

We came back for dinner tonight the Trout Amandine and Beef Bourguignon were excellent great food and service. We love your place see you again soon. We've been regular for many years love this place. Wonderful atmosphere very relaxing. The food is excellent I had Scallops with Champagne sauce my wife had filet Mignon with Béarnaise sauce both were delicious we clean the plate. For dessert we share cream brulee. We had a great evening with good food and great service from the friendly staff now It's time to walk around the Lake. We'll see you again next time Café Montmartre. Merci for the wonderful meal.

It's really overpriced for what you get. A huge stretch to call this a French restaurant - just because you add 'Les' in front of ''soup or 'salad', it doesn't make the dish French. We won't be back.

I really wanted to like this place but service was confusing and hard to get. I had to ask for each step and even if they were open. Felt like I was inside someone's home interrupting their work to ask for food and directions.

Excellent brunch. The crab quiche and salmon Benedict were delicious. And Alison was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

This is a lovely place for lunch or dinner, especially on a nice day when you can sit out on the plaza overlooking the lake. Very good quiches, salads, desserts and other entrees. Reasonable prices. I definitely recommend, particularly as a luncheon/brunch get together with friends.

A little run-down decor and place, but the food was outstanding, and the service was very attentive and excellent table service manners. We will be back. This is a hidden gem. The escargot are to die fir. The artichoke is delicious, and their espresso martinis are so delicious

I been going to Cafe Montmartre for 10yrs I love their food, the services, and the entertainment. I'm also part of the entertainment I'm the house drummer for them whenever a musicians or a band needs a Drummer, the owner calls me.

Cute place, but the food was not great. Bever brought my soda despite asking twice.

Food quality to price was a little blow the curve. The faux French cuisine was more faux than french. Service was great though

The quiche Lorraine was well prepared but the slice was 1” at its widest point. The French onion soup could have easily come out of a can. The customer who asked for the Omelet Paysanne and asked for cheese added for a slice of American cheese on top of it (the waiter did not offer specific cheeses but one would expect Gruyère at a French restaurant, or even Brie, but never a slice of American cheese!). The smoked salmon appetizer barely had 1oz of smoked salmon. Also, the most watered dow iced tea we’ve ever had. With all this, the restaurant is utterly overpriced. The reason for the 2-star restaurant vs 1 is because of the location.

The crab quiche is excellent! I’ve been going here for years and the food is consistently delicious.

Worst service, 30 minutes in and no drinks yet ...nice veiw ...can't enjoy food if I have to sit five times longer to for food then the time to eat it.

When looking for a place to have brunch, we stumbled across Cafe Montmartre and I’m so pleased that we did. It was a beautiful Sunday to visit Lake Anne, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Salmon. The eggs were poached great, the hollandaise held together perfectly, the potatoes were delicious. My partner had French Toast which he said tasted really good. We ordered dessert, the Chocolate Mousse and Creme Caramel, and both were the best way to end the morning. The service was great and I can’t wait to go back.

Half of the foods were good and other half were ok. I recommend their french toast and house made red wines.

We've eaten at Cafe Montmartre a number of times over the years. Their menu of French and Vietnamese food is consistently good. The service is excellent. Evening entertainment is offered as well.

The food is yummy, and the service is very attentive & friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Good lunch and wine on the patio

Food was delicious but the service was slow. To be fair it was a busy night as they had a fantastic band playing the night we were there. (Mary Ann Redmond Band)

Had a great meal, hard to choose from the nightly specials - orange roughy and chicken cordon bleu. Snails prepared with thinly sliced mushrooms and a few drops of chili oil are a nice update to this dish. Coffee and creme brulee for dessert, all with a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Friendly service throughout and you can stroll around the lake after your meal. We plan to frequent Cafe Montmarte for dinner, for the brunch that other diners recommended as well as music in March. Bonuses - There are many outdoor tables when warm weather returns for people watching. It's next door to the used book store. It's away from the crowded town center. Compared with other local spots this is a gem.

Great little restaurant at Lake Anne village center. The Báhn Mì with ham and pâté was excellent, full of complex flavors; the sandwich pâté maison was also excellent. Both were served on crusty fresh bread. The onion soup was rich and delicious and the roasted quails were delicate and flavorful. The trout almondine was fresh and well-prepared, and the boeuf bourguignon special looked amazing. Highly recommend!

I'm not from the area, but I love French and Vietnamese cuisine. I've lived in France. I speak fluent French. So when I discovered Cafe Montmartre online and read several reviews, what I had in my mind was the polar opposite of what we experienced. To start, we waited at the entrance for a while. No one was up front. It was 7pm and there were other diners, so it seemed odd. Finally someone came over. One would think, since the decor was super French, that we might be greeted in French. As it turned out, no one was speaking French. But oh well, we came there for the food, after all. The menu is not half French and half Vietnamese. It is about 80% French and 20% Vietnamese. My friend ordered the grilled Vietnamese platter and I ordered steak au poivre, which is one of my favorite French dishes. My friend's meal consisted of noodles over which was placed grilled pork (which she said was good), noodles, spring mix salad, with two grilled shrimp on top, covered with ranch-style dressing. When she asked if they had hot sauce, the server brought over a bottle of siracha. There were no identifying Vietnamese accents, like green onions or sprouts - it was mesclun mix. Very bland and not at all authentic. I'd ordered the duck pate for an appetizer. However, there were no toast points included - only stale bread that had been brought out with butter at the beginning of the meal. The pate itself was delicious, but it would have been much more enjoyable with French bread or toast. I had ordered the steak au poivre medium rare. It came with vegetables and boiled potatoes. The poivre sauce was okay, but the steak was well-done. Honestly, I cannot think of a restaurant experience where I have been more disappointed. My only expectations was that it would be French and Vietnamese!

Service was great - met the owner and they have been in business over 20 years- they are Vietnamese French cuisine - we tried from both "sides" of the menu- I think we enjoyed the French side more, but the Spring rolls were also good. Service was a little slow but friendly. Really more of a laid back vibe- good for kids if you want outside.

Came on a Saturday noon and had a scrumptious brunch. The omelette is pretty bland if you don’t order cheese but I think that’s intended so you can season to your liking. The fries they make are absolutely delicious and some of the best I’ve ever had. A bit expensive but it’s pretty worth. Happened to be a jazz festival going on today so the setting was immaculate.

Cafe Montmartre is one of my favorites, for family get togethers, meetups with friends and dates. The food and service are outstanding!

Everything on the menu is wonderful, and the setting is fantastic. Additionally friendly personnel, good bar.

The place is getting worse and worse. We liked coming there for the Lake Anne itself and its surrounding. We always enjoyed there a tea with the Napoleon pastry. We recently visited the place for my wife's bday. We waited for 20 minutes without being served, though the place was half empty. We had to ask to be served. We ordered three different entries. The meal was not good at all, all three entries were so tasteless! As for the dessert, they discontinued the Napoleon pastry, so we ordered the chocolate mousse, which was terrible, as it was swimming in cognac or some sort of alcohol that was not listed on the menu! Total disappointment and waste of money.

I did not eat here as planned , so the 5 stars are only for the manager/ owner who, even though they had closed tables because of understaffing, was so kind and helpful when I had a question about a reservation. They were very busy with the diners already seated, so his patience was especially noteworthy. I have eaten here before, and the food was always delicious, so I will try again soon.

The experience was far from the price point of this restaurant. The service was lacking. It was difficult communicating with the waitress and she could not explain the menu. The food was not prepared well. It was a very disappointing mothers day dinner. I would recommend the Lake Ann Wine Bar as an alternative.

Cafe Montmartre has been a family favorite for years. We always have great service and amazing food.

Awesome Eggs Benedict and food. The service has been subpar last several visits. Either not enough staff to cover tables with my waiter disappearing or being ignored by other when trying to get more water.

One of the worst Pho I've had in the NOVA area. They give you very little noodles and chicken and no basil or any other vegetables. They only give you like a spoon full of chopped scallion. Very poor value!

A nice little Vietnamese French Cafe, with a wonderful outdoor dining experience. We had the steak sandwich and Vietnamese chicken, and both were delicious. The wait staff was kind and attentive, we will be back.

Calamari was awful. From a bag of frozen all the exact same circles and it was under fried and chewy. Spring rolls were OK but not great, Saigon Dumpling Soup was few dumplings in watery broth. Mussels were fine but no toasted bread for dripping. The bread to start with looked nice but not fresh. We may try again but .....

The always gracious staff was super kind to my grandmother (she’s 98) and the kitchen served excellent trout almandine and flounder. The atmosphere is lovely and the service excellent. A wonderful gem.

This place truly is a hidden gem. I work in Reston, but have a long commute, so I haven't had the pleasure of having dinner there, only lunch. Every meal I've had there has been wonderful. The bread alone is always worth a stop, and the quiches are a favorite of mine. I'm surprised every time I visit that it isn't more busy. I've always sat outside, but I have peeped inside and the place looks very modern with lots of interesting art on the wall that that I'll explore some rainy afternoon, but as long as the sun's out I'd rather be outside enjoying the view of Lake Ann and the lively community. Another nice plus is the used bookstore next door where you can find something fun to read and keep you occupied if you're dinning alone. The only thing that might add to the experience might be some lite, french cafe like music to sweeten the atmosphere.

Anh Le (the owner) is beyond professional. We had our rehearsal dinner at Cafe Montmartre last month, we had 40 people there, Anh Le and her team had the most beautiful set up outdoor. The food was delicious, we set up a three course menu with her ahead of time and people had plenty of options to choose from. Everyone was raving about their meals and wine, everything was very decently priced and the event couldn’t have gone smoother. Thank you Anh and we look forward to coming back!

Google search found this gem for us! Had a wonderful, relaxing, fabulous lunch. The difficult part was deciding what to select as the menu offers so many terrific options. Tried the spring rolls (light,crispy perfection) and the calamari with a fresh marinara. Mains were the ham sandwich, salmon, scallops in champagne sauce and pork loin in brandy sauce...all flavorful and delicious. Shared a bottle of bubbly and finished with fruit tart and creme brulee...which was the best I have ever had. The only hard part was knowing we will miss trying the rest of the menu as we live on the west coast....so for all you locals we HIGHLY recommend this establishment and envy your being able to enjoy their board of fare over and over again.

Great food and beautiful location...

What a gem this place is! On the water front with cute little tables outside, and the absolute nicest customer service. Our server was sweet to our toddler, the owner Kevin chatted with us, and everyone coming and going smiled. That's not even to talk about the food which was excellent - our daughter loved the crab quiche, my husband said even the burger was delicious, and the dumpling pho is the stuff of dreams... Honestly I think the best I've ever had. French Vietnamese sounds like an odd combo, but man does it work.

Don't you feel sophisticated when you can enjoy the late morning sun in March, perhaps ordering "Oeufs Benedict" at the Cafe Montmartre, pause and hope for the appearance of Catherine Deneuve in the doorway of the nearby Reston's Used Book Shop? Well, no, you fool, Catherine Deneuve is roaming about St-Germain-des-Prés in Paris. She does not have time in her schedule for you and your casual acquaintances or your romantic tryst with the modiste. Nevertheless, I would suggest you go to this cafe at Lake Anne if you can. The scene will give you some respite from all that is most terrifying in northern Virginia- the jamming, the pushing, the shoving, the manipulating, the insisting, the demanding, controlling and aggressive "raison d'être" that we have come to associate with life in northern Virginia after so many years. Lake Anne's cafes and shops (or must I say shoppes?) continue to provide a peaceful alternative to life "in the fast lane." So, yes, have a cappuccino and eggs Benedict or perhaps "Pain Perdu" for brunch. Come back for dinner if you want, I don't care. You will enjoy it. The french bread, well, it could use some improvement of course, but, this, after all, is not the 6th Arrondissement of Paris, so you will make some sacrifice.

Food is amazing and the staff are better and very caring. Every single item on the menu taste great. They will remember you and your preference and make you feel home everytime you go back. Bathrooms do not have kids changing table but trust me when I say nowhere else is more kids friendly than them. I am sure you know about the location and fun it is to be at lake Ann... Enjoy...

This is our neighborhood place. We go a couple of times a month, because the servers remember us and make us feel special, the food is always good, it’s quiet, and they have a nice wine list. The menu has some nice variations, with French and Viet preparations, so there’s always something interesting to try. (Fried spring roll is our fave appetizer.)

Great ambiance, location, service and food here! Came here yesterday for Father’s Day dinner with my family. The restaurant is located in Lake Anne Plaza so its right by the water. The plaza was very lively! We got a table outside. I really liked their escargot appetizer. For entrees, the New York Strip, Pan seared trout, and scallops were all delicious! The service here is awesome. The owners are really friendly, caring, and attentive.

It was my second time at Café Montmartre. This time I was invited by a close friend. I loved the staff, the service and the food. It is a great place for a moment with friends. I would recommend the place and I will likely go back there.

Tonight is my second time here, and I absolutely MUST share how incredibly wonderful this establishment truly is. Ambiance first - this is a two sided establishment - while entering the main dining room is to the left, and lounge/bar to the right. Throughout the lighting is soft, dramatic, and softly touched with deep blue, golden glow, and soft white. I’ve enjoyed dinner during a previous time in the dining room and once at the bar (my personal preference when eating alone or with one companion). Service in both areas I would describe as outstanding, attentive, and patient. In particular, at the bar! Francisco is perfectly on time and allows for space, culinary enjoyment, and relaxation. Yet, he is always available at a mere glance. The perfect bar tender, waiter, and concierge. In fact, I have no word to describe the role that Francisco has served in since this incredible and wonderful establishment opened 22 years ago... In German/Yiddish, it would be “Mensch” - all around wonderful human being. On to food and libations, tonight I started with the Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager and escargots Les hors d’Oeuvres. I was pleasantly surprised about the pairing, along with the piping hot baguette... Considering the broth and mushrooms the escargots were served with...WOW! You gotta have the bread! I had to stop myself due to the entre arriving. Tonight, I was lucky enough to step in for a once-every-two weeks special known as the “Mix Grill”. And I quote from the “Speciaux Du Jour” menu, “Rack of Lamb [I ordered medium rare as any red meet SHOULD be ordered] & Quail (not pieces, an entire quail the size of my fist!). Stuffed with Spinach and Mushrooms, Peppercorn, Brandy Sauce. Served with Potatoes [pom fritz] and Vegetable.” This is paired with the Cabernet Sauvignon, 19 Crimes. GREAT choice. So, I let the dish cool to a nice Western European “cold cut” temperature while talking with a wonderful new friend about living in the Pacific Northwest. Then, I dug in. First, I devoured a lamb chop down to the bone. Absolutely perfect! The paired wine exploded with coffee and pepper. Then, hey I’ll grab a leg off this quail, get the few nibbles, and move on. That’s when I knew I was in trouble. After a sip of wine, and again with the PEPPER and a solid spicy chocolate after the one leg and thigh consumed, I’m looking at another lamb chop, another 3/4 of quailcompanion and a second bottle of this incredible red wine.

A great locally owned restaurant. They even have the most authentic spring rolls outside of Vietnam!

Quaint little with very friendly staff. We were there after lunch hours and it was great. The staff took time to chat it up with us. The escagot, mussels and seafood linguine were good. We would return during the summer to sit on the patio.

Charming. Went there for a late lunch with my sister on a weekday when it was empty. We split a bowl of beef pho and the waiter even split it into bowls for us. Reallyna fantastic place - would love to go back.

Not only is Lake Anne Plaza a hidden Reston gem, so is Cafe Montmarte! Beautiful location, delicious food and great service. Love the brunch - best French toast ever and delicious Eggs Benedict. Warm fresh bread and butter before the meal. And try the Vietnamese specialties too.

Fun place relaxing atmosphere great food!

My husband and I ate brunch here and it was the highlight of our trip. The cappuccinos were AMAZING and so was the bread (French loaf and crissont) and the carrot cake was the best I’ve had since my trip to Paris! If you are looking for good food reasonably priced with a romantic vibe, check this place out!

An unheralded, underrated restaurant tucked away in Lake Anne Village Center. Been here often and I’ve never had a bad meal. Service is outstanding, and they have a wide variety of wines to choose from, to go with your meal. Highly recommended!

Very nice little Cafe serving French and Vietnamese food. Great location near the lake with outside seating. Inside on a Saturday night is very busy with a band and lots of people. I just ordered takeout, but would love to come back again with friends now that I know how nice it is inside. Great atmosphere and good food.

This is one of my favorite places to have a relaxed dinner. The food is great, and the sauces and bread are fabulous. The price is also very reasonable.
