Fantastic Coffee! I really enjoyed the Lil Pump Coffee it was like pumpkin pie in a cup! Expertly crafted highly recommend! I bought some beans to bring home with me because we were visiting the area. If I lived in California I would be a regular here! Decor is artful mod totally hip!

Pros: great pricing for coffee and they have flavors that are atypical, such as banana and coconut Cons: I don’t like how they put a cone on your car, I understand it fits their theme but it seems to lack courtesy. The barista also made it awkward to tip by having us pay and then blatantly saying “would you like to leave a tip for the baristas” while giving us the payment screen. We tipped and then she just walked away without conversing or telling us where to go.

Went through the drive thru this morning and was highly disappointed by the customer service. I was told to move up in an unkind manner while still looking at the menu (and with a whole car in front of me). While asking for a suggestion, her answers were super short and given unnecessary sarcasm.

I loved the super v12 custom sweetie, and it was a good price!

Excellent coffee at this cool hangout in Barrio Logan. Service wasn't overly-friendly though - they seemed in a rush and not happy to answer questions about the menu... But the coffees we received were delicious and I would go back again - I'd just make sure I studied the menu in advance. :)

Drive thru that's actually a drive up. It's not speedy but I never mind waiting. Coffee is always tasty and tastes like coffee and not just flavoring, even when sweetened. They give pup cups too!

I got so disappointed we order a ice mexican mocha and an ice vanilla latte it taste like water it didn't taste like coffee at all. Service was not the best either. But the place is nice. I give it a 3 out of 10.

Personal is one of the best rich coffees I've ever been too. The coffee is actual coffee. They don't put heavy milk or sugar. You can actually taste the coffee, and the bakery selection is pretty yummy, some vegan and hmo free.

Today was my third time getting coffee here and it’s been really good every time. However, service hasn’t been good. They don’t even say hi when getting my order. Today they gave me the incorrect coffee and I had already drank from it and when she was giving me the right order she requested the other one. I said I had already drank from the cup so I thought she was going to say “you can keep it” but instead she said “yes, I will have to redoit, but it’s not yours” This is not about me wanting a free coffee, it’s just how she handled it. It wasn’t my fault she handed me the incorrect coffee. Anyways I has the iced mexican mocha and it qas really good I just wish their staff was more friendly.

Really love this place. The coffee ALWAYS tastes so good. Don’t really mind the wait cause it’s that good. Only reason I’m giving it 3stars is because the last few times I’ve gone and ordered an iced latte, I’ve been getting way more ice than coffee. I’m pretty much just paying for a cup of ice at this point. Kind of a bummer. I know, first world problems lol

One of my go-to coffee shops that I visit monthly to get freshly roasted beans. They have a long list of coffee beans, along with roasting dates and a little backstory on the production of the coffee beans itself. They even sell 5lb bottles of coffee beans. Their prices are reasonable compared to other roasters in SD.

It was my first time at cafe moto today, the coffee and pastry were exquisite however, the person that took my order made the experience so dissatisfying. I told her it was my first time there in hopes she’d recommend something, but with a rude tone she said “well what do you like?” I opted for a regular brewed coffee since she did not recommend anything I then asked what pastries they had since they’re not listed in the menu and I got attitude from her again. I live in Imperial Beach and drove down there excited to find a new coffee spot but café moto wont be it.

Best coffe on san diego, service and the last week was raining a lot, and that don't stop the team, I was there getting coffe and the give the same great service, I just can give you guys all my stars and live this experience whit everyone. Thanks for all your service in all the areas.

You’ll never wait longer for coffee! Seriously never seen such apathy for service. The food is your run of the mill baked goods. But seriously why do people wait 45 minutes in a drive through for this?

My favorite coffee shop! The cold brew is my go to, but their seasonal drinks hit the mark. We get out coffee beans here, and it is nice to have a local spot to grab coffee from. The drive thru is a bit tricky, but that is something that COVID gave us. If you get there early, the pastries are delicious.

Many people including me have had their coffee since it’s featured at many coffee shops and restaurants. But many probably have never gone to Cafe Moto’s actual location in Barrio Logan. I was one of such people until my most recent visit. I met a buddy here since I was close by, and this IS his favorite local roasted coffee beans in San Diego. It’s pretty much a walk-up, drive-up to-go spot, with a few tables & chairs for 2 on the sidewalk. My buddy ordered their hot Dutch Mocha espresso and I had their hot decaf Americano. There was a short walk-up line and an even longer drive-up line at the time of our visit. After ordering, we waited an additional 5-10 minutes for our orders to be called, then consumed them at one of their tables attached to their building on the sidewalk. My Americano was delicious. No complaints, and my friend’s Dutch espresso is one of his usual orders so I can only assume he loves that as well. They do have a restroom inside for patrons. Just enter the door around the corner from the walk-up counter to access it. They take AMEX here, a positive these days since many merchants don’t. If Cafe Moto was closer to our home, I could see coming here more frequently, but my local coffee shop in Bonita (Donny’s Cafe) uses Cafe Moto’s coffee beans so I get to drink it without coming all the way to Barrio Logan. It’s a pretty cool spot, and I highly recommend trying it out if you’re a lover of good coffee!

Excellent espresso and preparation is on par with Blue Bottle. The only issue, which is major to me, is they do not make a real cortado. Its a very specific Spanish drink with a 1/1 ratio thats been around for hundreds of years. Jist because clueless Americans want more milk in it does jot mean the recipe should be changed. It’s an espresso drink that should be in a 4 oz cup. What I received was a wet capp, or the espresso was overly watered down which would be another issue. It tasted like a combination of the two. I actually airbnb in Tijuana mainly for the cortados which just about every cafe there gets perfect. Unfortunately only a handful in San Diego understand what it is and do not serve what clueless people want it to be.

Great coffee not so great service

It is one of the best coffee shops in the downtown area. Pops up to the number one spot if you want a drive-through. The only downside is the wait, which can be lengthy due to its popularity.

I was 2nd in line in drive thru I ordered hot chocolate and two muffins I paid for tthe items got the muffins but was still waiting for hot chocolate 10 to 15 in the mean time two people that drove up behind me were served first and I was still waiting food and drinks great but customer service very slow

The coffee is great! Hidden in the cut of San Diego but worth the drive. Off the 5 freeway. Downtown/ Logan area.They have a drive thru or walk up! Go support this business- especially if you wanna try something new!

Just always reliably high quality beans and roast options. We've been on a Bloom kick of late and also love the Indo Noir and Filip Rally for our french press mornings. Fair trade and organic, ftw.

Coffee is great but took forever to get my coffee again. I remember a time when moto was on it with getting you in and out quick. I recommend setting time aside for your trip to pick your coffee up because the line can be brutal and workers are on Hawaiian time. I wish someone else would offer 5 pound bags in this city!!!

Drive through service was fast even there were so many customers. The dry cappuccinos were perfect. Coffee was really strong (love it) the milk foam was like a cloud, thick and fluffy! Definitely come back again next time.

Best place for a coffee in San Diego. Fresh and directly from the roaster. What a coffee ! I warmly recommend. Nice place, cosy atmosphere, high quality service. Ask for a cake (lemon or banana), one of the best in my life. Drive in with your car available.

Cafe Moto like much of the road leading down towards Chicano Park isn't "old" Logan. It's definitely moreso appealing to newer crowds, mostly folks not native to the neighborhood. I think on that front it could appeal more to the locals. But on that note, the coffee is generally very good ad flavorful with many options. Altho regular coffee is at a fair price. And quality of taste in general is worth what you pay. As far as employees go, never have had a bad experience & every one is generally informative on what they sell & what you might like. They never try to get you to buy what you don't want or pay more than you need but want you to enjoy a simple cup of coffee. Pastries are divine. They go fast because they are delicious. Admitedly I tend to come here for the pastries which are always scrumptious.

honestly, just not my preference in coffee- if you’re a fan of darker roasts (ie. cafe bustelo) you’ll probably moreso appreciate the intensity of the coffee. it doesn’t read as specialty coffee to my tastebuds- i’ve tried the cubano cortado, v12 cold brew, mexican mocha, and iced caramel dulce latte. i appreciate the drive thru option, free chaff bin, and intentional relationship w the farmers

The last time I was here was five years ago and it was a great experience. Cafe Moto had a beautiful sitting area for coffee hangout. Now this area is gone and it is a drive-thru. Last week, I went for an Americano... it took a little over ten minutes?!?! I asked if it could be poured on my Yeti, but was denied. Won't be coming back.

Has to be my favorite local coffee roaster, they have excellent blends for nearly any taste and knowledgeable staff who know what you would like. For businesses they offer excellent options as well and service that is hard to get from some of the larger establishments. Definitely worth a visit especially to buy some whole bean coffee.

First time here must say the oat dutch mocha warm... is Incredible... every sip was just spectacular...I also purchased a bag of Nicaragua....My boyfriend had the oat White mocha which was Sensational as well.. Cant wait to try my grounds in my espresso machine...as well as try They're cold Brews And pastries..We will definitely going back... Great place. Thanks!!

This place has the strongest best tasting cold brew. Simple great drinks, Starbucks people año like all that crazy nasty as sugary drinks, don't come here unless you like "real coffee drinks".

Drive-thru works seamlessly. The team is really friendly and of course, the coffee is delicious! My pup got her first pup-acino today! We all had a great afternoon coffee experience!

Once a month I pick up freshly roasted espresso beans. Always let them pick them, and they never disappoint.

Disappointed. After several of my co-workers kept bragging about this place, I decided to give it a try (twice in the past 2 weeks). Both times were the same; Long wait (20min each time) and horrible coffee. I am not sure if it’s the beans, the milk, or something else…but it’s possibly the worst coffee I’ve ever had! Don’t recommend!

The tea is great Blood Orange and 26.00 per bag and Dragon Pheonix Pearl's at 95.00 a bag are my favorite.... They where out for months but I got 3 bags finally. the only thing is the S/H was 13 and up.

It must be one of the best coffee places in San Diego. I like their dark roast espresso which I find to have a great balance between boldness and acidity. Prices are very reasonable. My only complaint is that the actual store is still closed, apparently for lack of employees.

Cafe Moto is a staple local coffee shop in Barrio Logan. With a variety of specialty coffees made from their house-roasted beans, you won’t be disappointed by the flavor. My favorite thing on the menu here is the Mexican mocha which has a delicious Abuelita flavor to it. Also note, that while there is a drive thru and outdoor seating, indoor seating is not available currently.
