I love this place, the food, the service and the relaxing vibe. I just want them to be open later in the evening one night during the week and on Sunday mornings. They close at 3 and are not open at all on Sundays. They would probably have a lot of locals and their guests coming for a Sunday cappuccino and breakfast or just Sunday goodies. A hot chocolate after an evening walk in would be wonderful.😁 I haven't had their salads or sandwiches but they look so fresh. I bet they're delicious too.

Wonderful food - sweet and savory. Nice selection. Can even get real baguettes. It’s a nice walk for me but parking is as easy as parking is in the area. ( can be tough). Definitely worth a visit though! If you come once, you’ll definitely be back! Food is good. Hot and cold drinks are excellent. Nice atmosphere if they play music. Great place to meet and enjoy!!

I love this place but it’s unfortunate that it seems as if all the employees buy the too good to go bags from what I can see. I wait on the website, as soon as it’s updated they’re gone instantly which is conveniently the same time the store closes every day. You should just take the too good to go postings down & give the food to employees for free.

Cafe Poupon has always been my favorite choice for in-person coffee meetings downtown. Their coffee and baked goods are so yummy, and I've always enjoyed their lunch menu. Of course, with the changes brought about by Covid, things have shifted a bit; their menu is now a bit smaller, and they've stopped using those charming glassware. However, it's nice to see things gradually returning to normal.

I absolutely LOVE the pastries here! I pick up several to share with friends and neighbors frequently– everyone is so excited when they see Cafe Poupon's familiar label on the bag/boxes. The croissants and their pasty dough are perfectly buttery, not too sweet, and flaky/crispy (I think it's my favorite in the city so far). The staff is always very sweet and works hard. The interior of the shop is cozy. The store might be easy to accidentally walk past, as it's a narrow storefront at 225 N Charles St, but it's worth peeking inside! there is limited indoor and outdoor seating in the cafe and patio, respectively, but if you want to bring a book you're able to order and relax for a little you should be able to find space.

Pretty disappointed. I order a Frazier cake every year for my birthday for the past 10 or so years. I always pick it up directly from east Baltimore street but since I moved closer to this location I selected this location as pickup. I called ahead and was told the cake has arrived to this location and was ready for pickup. I show up, and there is no cake. They offered me another cake… and since my birthday is tomorrow… i accepted it. But I was then told by east Baltimore street to come back to the cafe poupon Charles street location because she called them and they told her they do, in fact, have my cake. So I went back.. again… and they told me that they don’t know why I was told that because they still don’t have it and they will check again. No cake… still. So this time I call east Baltimore back and ask them what’s going on because I don’t want them to waste a cake and wonder why it was never picked up. She calls cafe poupon again.. and they tell her AGAIN that they have my cake. She tells me they told her they have it. So what happened to my cake? Either it was never made or sold to someone else with my birthday engravement on it. The cafe poupon store marked it as arrived so at one point it was there. I appreciate the plain replacement cake but if they didn’t have that I would have been out a cake. My advice - order and pickup from east Baltimore street. Thank you to the workers who helped out but calling me directly would have been nice since I drove back twice…

Did not have a good experience at this cafe. The server was nice but the lady at the cash registeryvwas very rude. She was having difficulty understanding alteration in our sandwich and couldnt help but say it out so loudly "your alteration makes it difficult for me to charge it precisely" . I mean who says that to customers? All we had requested to alter was remove tomatoes from their sandwich. The food is mediocre and charges are high for the quality of food. Coffee is good.

Cute cafe. Coffee connoisseurs work the counters and craft the brews and make the pastries...it all tastes good. The menu is in French, so if you're like me and don't know diddly squat about the language, ask someone what is what. They don't exactly smile at you when you walk in, but they're friendly enough. The place has dining inside (masks preferred at time of writing) or a small area outside the side entrance with a few cute tables for people to sit. The bathroom has been "out of order" for the past few weeks (I've been to Cafe Poupon twice recently), so maybe go elsewhere if you need to, you know. Also, a little thing to note: the outdoor area doesn't have a trash can nearby (that I noticed) so you have to go back inside to throw away garbage. Not a big deal obviously, but if you're outside eating/drinking and then want to leave, you have to go back inside the side entrance and walk all the way to the far end of said entrance to find the trash, then walk back out the side entrance. Like I said, a little thing, but kind of inconvenient. The coffee and pastries are decent. Macarons, madeleines, cookies, etc. I've had a cappuccino and a macchiato so far. Not bad. The pastries I've had have all been on the slightly cooled side, as opposed to freshly baked. Overall, I like the place, but personally prefer other nearby cafes. 4/5 stars

Little hole in the wall compared to it's cohorts on the street. A bit scruffy- looks like they are remodeling but we're here for the coffee right? At this point then it's all about the coffee and the barista and they are both pretty decent. Cappuccino has a nice mouth feel. Thick. Not marshmallowy. Not thin and dry. Sometimes you can tell if the brew was over ext'd but this was good. Nice quiet place to chill at eight am after a night Lindy hopping. Steely Dan playing in the background.

I've been to 30 countries outside of the US, and this is hands down the most legit French bakery in Baltimore. Quiche with flaky crust and perfect semi-custard consistency. Baguette that's actually fresh on the inside. Croissant so buttery and flaky that you'll have a Pixar-esque flashback to Marguerite, the pretty socialite in Cannes, who showed you what it means to submit to your passions, however briefly, and truly enjoy life for a singular moment in the long chain of moments that have made up your life.... The Parisian drinking chocolate is not sweet, just like it shouldn't be, and it's incredibly good.

Great food and drink. However the attitude of the employees leaves a lot to be desired. Simply put, they are pretentious as hell. First, why are you giving me attitude for an item I want? Simply say "that isn't available today" instead of acting like I'm a freak for ordering it. Second, if someone says "croissant" like an American, don't correct them. You are a French cafe, but you are not French people. Who cares? Third, after correcting us on item pronounciation, they didn't even give us the right thing. Wow, looks like your French lessons aren't helping you at all. Try being less self-important. You work at a coffee shop. No need to be so unpleasant. The staff also seem unpleasant to each other. Nice Parisian cafe in downtown Baltimore. Charming atmosphere, incredibly delicious pastries, and good coffee. Yes, you can get Orangina here too! I definitely recommend the almond croissant. Lots of little seating areas, including some nice outdoor seating. Note, you're supposed to leave your dirty plate, cups, etc. on the table when you're done; they'll bus the table after you're gone (this wasn't obvious to me when I was there). Prices are a little on the high side. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I generally find the wait staff to be a little too much on the quiet/unfriendly side for me. Nonetheless, I really like this spot and come here at least once a month. Would recommend for a cup of coffee when travelling solo and for a small, intimate meeting alike (2-3 people). Beyond that the tables aren't big enough to accommodate.

Nice place to eat, great food. They need to train the staff to be at least more friendly and smiling.

Such a beautiful place to have afternoon tea with girlfriends, date nights with your partner, and even a mom daughter quality time kind of day. Amazing pastries, tasteful design, and friendly staff. Definitely recommended as a favorite and real “café”!!

Ordered this cake which was pretty good. It was about $50. Occasionally I've gotten coffee and pastries from here also with no issues.
