Hummus was great a big portion for small. Had something called a shawarma with lamb, medium spice. Very taste! Unfortunately they were out of baclava but I'm sure that would have been awesome as well. Small dining was neat and very clean.

I might not live near Cafe Rakka but I definitely will be make the drive to have this meal again. Such friendly staff along with an amazing meal. Bold flavors in every bite. Ordered: Lamb Shawarma on the Sajj Rice bowl $19.99, Pomegranate tea $2.99 Socials: The Hungry Wonderland

Very disappointed. We arrived at 6 PM on a Saturday but quite a few options, everything our party was interested to order, was unavailable/out of stock. Due to this we decided to leave but also we were very turned off by the extremely poor condition of the seats.

Long time favorite.. proud to be a customer since before Guy came to town. Recent addition of Lamb Burgers is superb! Rakka flavor and freshness crossed with a burger.. you get a hand patted ground lamb patty spiced to order (medium was plenty for me), topped with cheese and fresh cucumber, lettuce, homemade pickles and onions in a split pita bun. It was awesome! Juicy with intense flavor and freshness you just can't get anywhere else. It's a unique item you gotta try. It's really a tie with my top 3 favorites here, along side the filet mignon medallions and the salmon. Not to mention the hummus and the baklava! The owner has a passion for food you can taste, and Rakka continues to be one of my absolute favorite places to get great food! Edit: I do love this place, but the owner has made some calculated decisions on pricing that have pushed it out of the realm of reasonable. I think I spent $75 on 2 people last visit.. this is on no way "cafe" prices. $15-$18 for a plate of hummus and bread is outrageous. That same plate with more on it use to be like $9. Basic entrees are in the $25 zone.. drinks were always a little high, but there were refills. Now it's the same bottles they sell it at retail in.. so no refill. Frustrating if you have spicy food. Overall I'm happy for the owners success.. sad that the prices have made the food inaccessible and the experience much less appealing.

I crave this place more than I’d like to admit. I grew up eating falafel wraps with our Arabic family friends.. and this restaurant brings up all of the nostalgia I’m looking for. So authentic and fresh! I drive from Nashville to eat here, and any day working in Hendersonville means lunch is Cafe Rakka!

Wow, haven't been treated so rudely in a long time. Don't ask any questions about the menu, because you will probably get laughed at by the two ladies running the cash register. Not only were they rude, but I paid cash $61.67 and they didn't want to give me a receipt. The food is not worth the rudeness. I hope you have a better experience than I did.

They're falafels are fantastic and I love the tabouli. It is a very informal atmosphere and yet the food quality is at a high level. We enjoyed the outside eating area and the attendance were very helpful. I sure hope to be back.

This is the best restaurant in Hendersonville hands down. The diversity and execution is phenomenal. I love sitting on the patio to enjoy my food and have been pleased with takeout as well. It stays warm and tastes so fresh every time. I recommend anyone passing through to try this place out!

I have been eating at Cafe Rakka since it very first opened. The food has always been amazing. I have tried several things on the menu but the chicken tikka Marsala with a pomegranate tea is one of my favorite meals ever. The staff, service, and Chef Rakka are the nicest people. I have never had anything other than a great experience at Cafe Rakka.

Excellent service, excellent food and willing to work on the fly. I asked for a large order at 10:45 am and they had it ready one hour later. Quality of the food is always superb. As a middle easterner myself growing up with this type of cuisine, it has always surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend

Regrettably, our order took 45 minutes to come out, while two tables that arrived after us received their orders before us. When my friend inquired about our order, the cashier/server rudely responded, 'We can't make it come out any faster.' We had specifically requested the Chicken Shawarma without spice, but to our dismay, the hummus we received had spice in it, making it inedible for my friend. After only two bites, my friend requested a spice-free version. The employee's response was once again rude, stating that since she had eaten half of it, she would need to purchase another one. I have attached a picture showing the two bites taken. Feeling disheartened by the situation, we made the decision to leave. As I made my way to the restroom, I overheard the waitress discussing our situation with another staff member and a customer. This unprofessional and rude behavior has left us with no intention of returning. While the food was okay, the overall experience was not worth the trouble. Oh, I have come across many other reviews similar to mine. I would recommend not wasting your time driving to this place and instead exploring the much better Mediterranean restaurants in Nashville!

Excellent Mediterranean cuisine!! Food was absolutely top notch! Atmosphere is simple but could use a bit more updating. But back to the good food!! It’s with the drive to have the Shawermah!! The size of the plates were definitely large enough to share or just walk out with a full stomach!! Don’t be fooled by the surrounding buildings this is for sure a diamond in the rough!! You definitely need to try the food at Cafe Rakka!!

We were in the area and decided to stop by Cafe Rakka for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. My son and I shared the lamb shawarma entree with a side of hummus, the Pom bom drink, and a ma’moul cookie for dessert. The regular had just the right amount of spice, and we loved everything. The guys working were really friendly. 10/10 We’ll definitely be back again.

First time trying, it was an amazing experience. Food was phenomenal 🤤 i was full and needed to stop eating but I couldn't. Little pricier than other Greek restaurants but it was delicious.

One of our favorite places to eat in the greater Nashville area! Chef Rakka owns and operates this restaurant for many years now. He serves the best Baba ghanoush we have ever had anywhere! It’s roasted eggplant that has a subtle smoky flavor, it’s very creamy and delicious. He serves it cold as an appetizer with fresh pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top. It’s served with warm pita bread. We also enjoy the fresh hummus which is mashed chickpeas served with a drizzle of olive oil as a cold appetizer with warm pita bread. He also has a tabouli salad which is fresh diced parsley and bulgar wheat. This healthy delicious salad is my favorite thing on the entire menu and is also the best tabouli I’ve ever had. We love coming here to eat. Don’t forget to try the complimentary cucumber water it’s very refreshing!

I had the chicken&cream rice bowl(med spice level). Highly recommend. Just enough heat so as not to overpower the other flavors. Portion sizes are nice.

Funky little joint with something for everyone including vegetarians. The food was delicious, fresh, and unique. The service was prompt, polite & done with a smile. Atmosphere is pleasant and upbeat. There's a dining area outside if you choose to enjoy the breeze. Highly recommend!

This was our first time at cafe rakka. We had high expectations after local reviews and knowledge of a triple D episode back in 2010. I ordered the chicken tandoori hummus bowl and my husband got the lamb biryani. The chicken was really dry and lukewarm (probably being held on the line) but the hummus was really good. Loved the pickled turnips and onions to accompany the hummus. My husband’s lamb biriyani was good, but he ordered it spicy and the spice wasn’t as elevated as he expected. Definitely try it for yourself, even if it’s just for the hummus!

I placed order from a screen, and entered a name and phone number. I went out to my car to talk on the phone. After 15 minutes I went in and asked if my order was ready. The girl behind the counter said yes and handed me my order. I asked why I wasn't called when it was ready. She said they don't get that information from the order😖. The chicken in the shawarma was dry, and lacked that wonderful Mideast flavor I was expecting. The raw onions were harsh. Order off a screen, no call when ready, food not up to par...that's how you lose business.

This is one of my local go to restaurants. They are so nice and friendly. The food is amazing. My favorite is the lamb burger. The entire menu is amazing.

We always do takeout and order a few things to share family style so I've had 15-20 different things on the menu and I think the food is all fantastic. Lamb korma has been our favorite. Great vegan options as well.

Everything here is amazing and I recommended it. However, they have no policy against wild children throwing paper airplanes and hitting other customers. I understand bad parenting, but this business needs to fix this.

We visited early in the day just after opening. The young man behind the register seemed to be struggling to be ready to open. We were told that today was the first time that they had opened since the tornado came through a week before. We placed our order and sat to wait. The food came out in a timely fashion and was quite good. We had order a "house water" as a drink when we placed our order. We were told by the young man that he would bring it out. Each time he came to our table (first to clean it, them the silverware, then the two entrees) he would yell us that he was getting the water. Finally I walked up to the counter to tell him I would just buy a bottle of water instead. He then poured up the water and gave it to me. We had also ordered Baba Ghanoush but when I went to get the water, I asked about it and was told that I didn't order it. No apology given for his mistake of not hearing it when both my wife and I said it. In light of the recent storm damage to the area, and the fact that it may ha e just been a rough start to the day, we will give them another chance in the future.

Chicken always dry. My wife asked for extra cucumber and tomato for her salad and was just blatantly told, no. We can't add that to your salad. We asked it they were out of those items, and we were told they had the items but we're not allowed to add extra to the salad. This used to be a great place to eat. Over the last 6 months it has gone down hill terribly. Definitely would not recommend. It's also way overpriced for the quality of food they serve.

Cost way too much for microwave food( rice was clumpy and hard in spots like it is microwave bag rice or they cant cook ,?? Not sure.) and did t get my taboole $25 for 1 persons and the food looked very slopped on the plate like zero presentations. Not worth the price or my time again. I knew I should have just gone to the real gyros ( Heros!!)

I always make a point of visiting Cafe Rakka when I'm in Nashville on a work trip. Yesterday I was in the area and stopped by. I won't be doing that again. Extremely expensive for shopping mall food court quality that would have cost $10. I paid over $30 per meal (!!!) including tip and small side of hummus. The young ladies that served me were very nice. Very disappointing overall. I'll be going to Taziki's instead from now on.

Disappointed! This restuarant was highly recommended and it definitely didn't live up to what we were told. We are huge fans of middle eastern food and were looking forward to trying this place. The falafel was way overcooked and greasy. The "lamb" shawarma was tough and chewy and was most likely cheap mutton being passed off as lamb. The seasoning was ok. The staff was polite and friendly. I've had much better middle eastern food in inexpensive fast food places.

Rakka has - by far - the best salads in Nashville. I’m also a fan of the tandoori chicken sandwich. The cold spiced tea is perfect for diluting into a gallon of water to make an excellent flavored water. Highly recommended.

It was an unusually rainy day in August when my son asks, “Have you ever had a lamb burger?” “Never even heard of one.” I said. “Oh, we gotta spot. You have to try one.” He seems excited. Off we go through the wind and the rain. I’m secretly thinking, “is this going to be worth the trouble?” Turns out, it was. We loved it. It was worth every bit of trouble. My son and my wife had the lamb burger and I had the lamb wrap. There were both outstanding, a distinctive Mediterranean flavor but not overdone with spices. We ate like kings and queens while Herbie Hancock’s “Maiden Voyage” played on the speakers overhead. There’s just something soothing about smooth, classic jazz while you eat. We give Cafe Rakka five stars. Thanks for a great meal.

First time coming to this restaurant. Amazing food! I had the grilled chicken hummus bowl and my husband had the lamb shawarma hummus bowl. You can customize the spice level (mild, medium, hot), so I got mine mild and my husband had medium. He said the medium definitely had a kick to it. Both dishes were incredible, and came with a side of wonderful fresh pita bread. We also had a side of falafel, and it was probably the best we’ve ever had. Huge portions and super fresh! Everything is made with olive oil, so it’s very clean. I’m also dairy-free, and the food was very allergen-friendly for me. Highly, highly recommend!

Been coming here for years. The best tasting Mediterranean in middle TN. Dinners are on the expensive side but the quality and perfection are exceptional. This place is so AMAZING, my most favorite Mediterranean restaurant.. I got the Lamb Biryani and my husband got Lamb hummus, my son Lamb burger.. Ordered the chicken wrap and side of hummus. Chicken was dry, no kind of sauce or hummus in the wrap hence making the wrap a dry experience. Hummus appetizer was put in a very shallow ( to go) container with the illusion of a hefty portion. We arrived at 7:05 with a party of 10. At first the gentleman at the counter stated that they could not seat us because we were a 'large' party and we needed to call them at least 30 minutes in advance for them to prepare. After another 5 minutes of him explaining that this was a cafe and not a full restaurant he finally said we could be served if we agreed to sit at separate tables... So 10 people ordering the same amount of food at 7pm is ok as long as we don't sit together... Apparently how we were seated puts an additional strain on the kitchen (though I suspect it was more the additional service required of the wait staff that really bothered him an hour before closing). So we sat and ate and were just about done when 8pm hit. We were then reminded that they closed at 8 and the door was locked so we would need to get someone to let us out... Then a minute later we were asked if the dishes were ready to be taken, then a minute later we were asked if we needed boxes, then a minute later the chairs for all the tables around us we're placed on the tabletops in a manner that was at this point quite obviously to rush us out. All of this with very serious faces and very little desire to serve a customer (who was there to earn the cafe more business with new customers). During the whole meal we had to ask for plates, water, silverware, sauce... No one ever came to check on us and see how we were doing until 8pm... And that was in an effort to get us to leave. I must say i was very disappointed in the service... I will never understand hiring service personnel who are clearly bothered to serve others... This young man and his young lady friend clearly had places to go and that was more important than my family's dinner. Lesson learned is I will likely not come back with guests... And honestly will only come when I have a strong appetite for amazing Mediterranean food but will likely take it to go... I almost gave the review 2 stars but to be honest the staff in the kitchen deserves 5 and it would be wrong to penalize them for poor customer service when their job was done excellently.
