This was my first experience. The food was pretty good. I'd definitely go again.

The baja shrimp tacos were bomb!!! It was the Saturday special. $15. The chicken nachos were good as well. The pork nachos were good as well. The steak tacos were good, but dry.

We used to enjoy this restaurant. However it has gone downhill. Very poor service, food is low quality, not clean, and overpriced. We will not be going back .

I’ve been to many Cafe Rios in Utah and this one blows them away!

Ugh I hate leaving bad reviews, and rarely do, but our experience with their carry out was awful. They forgot four sides for our two orders, and they charge $2.50 for about a tablespoon of guacamole.

They truly go the extra mile for their customers. I ordered their half steak, half chicken bowl, which is already a great portion. When I got to the topping bar, I realized I'd forgotten to ask for extra sauce. Anywhere else the server would get upset. The server Abdul saw my predicament and not only grabbed me some sauce but also brought over more chicken, ‘ just cause to brighten my day' as he put it. To my surprise, when I reached the cashier, he only charged me the regular price, even though I had both premium meats in my bowl. This kind of friendly and thoughtful service is why I’ll always choose Cafe Rio over Chipotle right across the street.

We had a great experience with my husband this evening Food was great and also Doris and Marixa were extremely friendly all the time kudos to them.

Food is great. Problem is the line doesn’t move because they prioritize online orders. So, if you want to dine-in, it’s an awkward process of standing in front of people and being ignored while they make other people’s food as you wait. Today was too much and I walked out after waiting several minutes in line and watching online orders come in and the line not moving.

This restaurant serves amazingly delicious Mexican food and has a great atmosphere to sit and mingle with friends and family.

Tasty staple, decent service, loud atmosphere

This place is so weird. Everything is very fresh and high quality, but the flavors are all over the place. The queso tastes like beer cheese with tomatoes?? I did appreciate the amount of cilantro in my bowl. Everything was pretty good but just kinda tasted a little odd. Not bad, just odd. That being said the building is nice and clean. The service was mid.

Love the staff and the food is great! Our only slight complaint is the queso consistency. It's different week to week and sometimes so liquidy. Otherwise everything is great!

Very good food and good service

The food is tasty. I order online and go to pick it up. It tells me when my order will be ready. Sometimes I get there and they haven't started my order yet. They almost always get something wrong, usually by leaving things out. If they could fix that problem I would go more often

Fast fresh Mexican. Live their food!

Great restaurant, never disappoints. The bowls are the best. Even though you go through a line and order your food quickly, they still make most entrees fresh right when you order it. Tortillas are very good too. Horchata is always great for drinks

Not sure if we came at an off-hour (shortly after opening), but to say we were disappointed was an understatement. No issues with the staff or the facility itself, the food was just quite bad. Essentially all topping choices were soupy/saucey, and none of the flavors complimented the sweet pork burrito (also, what a strange choice to be this chain's signature protein option). Perhaps worth resisting at some point in the future given the otherwise positive reviews, but we won't be back anytime soon mostly due to personal preference and odd flavor choices.

Great place, preferable to the chains!

The food is good, place is clean, but service is TERRIBLE. I came here today to order one fajita and one veggie taco. The lady couldn't understand me so she told another lady. The second lady intentionally ignored my request and made what she wanted. The first employee tried to correct her but she continued to do what she wanted. This is just poor service. I wanted to walk out but I was too hungry and didn't have the energy for it.

Poorest customer service experience that I have had at this location, so much so that I simply left without accepting my order as the cashier would not apply the full rewards credit amount of $10 to my order once their registers did not apply it automatically via scan of the QR code on my phone, despite them seeing that I had a $10 credit. They offered a $5 discount instead, not acceptable to me. Fortunately, I had not made a special trip to make my purchase, just happened to be in area. Food is usually decent but generally overpriced for the value (as most restaurants are), so I may possibly visit in future & order in the APP if able to apply my reward credit that way, otherwise not interested in making any further purchases from this Cafe Rio.

Wow! New dish... Bowl, now I can say your grill chicken it real chicken and fresh + extraordinary flavor. I'm a frequently client and I have to say something about the amazing staff, how you find it??? -Asia,-Addu, Maxwell, Selena lucymar ... they have a great team work. Great place... I love the promos. The staff are wonderful... the kids meal shred chicken quesadilla 💯x💯. The app have to by fix, try it to order a Kid's meal shred chicken quesadilla + bean, rice (they just charge extra). + the survey in the app it missing things compared to web site.

What can I say love the food their sweet pork is to die for and try the Key Lime desert and the staff was friendly and inviting.

I used the website at the Olney location to order Nachos. On my receipt listed what I wanted on my nachos. So my opinion is if it isn’t listed then you shouldn’t put it on the nachos. Why would you have to go in and check you don’t want tomatoes on your nachos when it isn’t listed? That is so dumb! This app needs to be fixed or your staff needs to make nachos only what is listed, (shown below) 1st picture is my receipt 2nd is what the kitchen got. No tomatoes listed anywhere! I can’t eat tomatoes. In the end the staff made my nachos the way I wanted them but the attitude could have gone without from your staff.

Place is disgusting, food horrible not fresh and no standards, sloppy! Service is rushed and they don’t care. The prices are astronomical for what it is. Move out and make room for a real Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood!

Horrible experience. I was waiting for my food for OVER 30 MINUTES!!! They just kept telling me "it'll be coming soon" every 5 minutes, I saw so many employees on the floor and still my food took 30-40 minutes to be ready! This is ridiculous! Never coming back to this restaurant. Had a horrible experience waiting for my order to be ready.

Fresh ingredients the staff always seems to smile, food is reasonably priced. I put it above every other fast food chain and don’t really consider it fast food. That’s how good it is.

Clean place , helpful staff and tasty food.

My wife and I were very disappointed with our overall experience. Food was low quality. My quesadilla didn’t have enough cheese at all. People were very unprofessional in serving. Place was very dirty. Not a good place to eat at all based on our experience. Employees didn’t seem to be aware of customer service and good hygiene. Tacos were terrible. It appears that better management needs to step in.

Great, fresh food…. One of my favorite places in Olney! However, it’s very frustrating that after all these years of this happening, it doesn’t seem to improve: most times the long line I wait in is because of the individual cash register, and not people waiting in line to order. I think if there were two registers, service would be much faster, and I wouldn’t be waiting so far up the line with my food already prepared, waiting to pay. Just a thought, still love this place!

We were so happy to dine here the atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic , they give you what you pay for. The best part is that Especially Mirna and her team were a great people and very friendly and very welcoming. What wonderful people that work here and they care about their customers . Would recommend anyone . 10/10 . A must visit restaurant in this town.

Tostadas are one of my favorite foods they made the worst one I've ever tasted

My quesadilla was so greasy it had oil dripping off of it. I couldn’t eat it. Their food is subpar.

I drove 10 hours 16 minutes (659 miles) to get me some Cafe Rio. I absolutely love this place it is no longer in my location. So I decided to make a vacation out of it. Fresh food great service atmosphere is great. They even gave me extra Pico for no charge!!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Holy Meat! They put a lot of meat on the burritos and quesadilla. The staff is super friendly but a little slow. There is an app you can you to rewards such as $5 off etc. This weekend had $2 queso and chips. The horchata is always good as usual. Would go to this location again.

I've only had their food through catering, not at the restaurant. Food is decent for a local chain, although it always gives me indigestion, which suggests to me they use inferior quality fats in their food. Would not go to the restaurant, their are other locally owned restaurants with authentic, great food in the area that I'd prefer to patronize.

It wasn't bad I really liked that sweet pork tacos with fresh cilantro. The fountain drinks were a great refreshing delight I had the mango drink it was to die for. So, I recommend this place the taco Tuesday sale is really good.

Is used to be a pretty good restaurant. It is gone down. Remarkably. Service wasn't very good. Very slow The people behind the counter. All they did was talk among themselves. Very very slow service and they got the order wrong which I had to pay. Double price Will not not come back here. The food was not very good. It was dry. Stale really has gone down and it's really really disappointing. Will not recommend this to anyone go across the street to California tortilla

It was good at the beginning when the restaurant opened. Now, even my daughter says they’re not doing well anymore! We’ve been there since she was 4yrs. Old to celebrate her birthdays. It was one of those good small chain restaurants, she loved. Too sad it’s not one of the best🙏

Where's the Meat! I've eaten at Café Rio multiple times. Usually love the tacos. However, tonight they were very stingy adding meat to my taco's. The steak was like three strips and there wasn't much in the Pork taco or the Carne Asada taco. Something seems to have changed. Will be a while before I return.

Taking off a star because like previous reviewers, they have recently gotten stingy with the cheese. I would love for a quesadilla to be filled with cheese and not just the protein and even if it meant paying more.

awful experience. food upset my stomach for two weeks after eating and it took 45 minutes for it to get to my table. when trying to pay, my card declined and they laughed in my face when telling me loudly in front of the whole restaurant. apparently i was clearly mortified because then they started to make fun of me even further. 0/10 do not go here.

I eat here often and there's one employee who when interacting with other employees seems happy and pleasant and helpful, but when interacting with customers seems generally annoyed and indifferent. They're my spirit animal.

Normally this is my favorite restaurant ever! However, tonight they did not put enough cheese on the quesadillas or nachos and the burritos were not stuffed very well either. I mean, there was very little cheese in the quesadillas and nachos. And those need to be quite cheesy. I don’t know if supply chain is down or what. My family was disappointed tonight. We, of course, will come back, as the flavors are very very delicious. Tonight the servers were very stingy with portions.

This is a convenient place to grab something to eat. They run specials throughout the week. Taco Tuesday is the best. Who can beat tacos for $2.50 a piece. The staff is friendly and the food is made to order. Yum!

We go here once a month. Always a solid experience. Make sure you do the survey on the receipts-- free chips or a desert on your next visit. Also the cafe rio rewards program is worth the effort.

Won't be back here. I hadn't been to a Cafe Rio in years and it wasn't the same. Came on a Tuesday night. Line was super long so they were rushing you. The food got mixed up and we put toppings on someone else's food. They were cleaning the dining room with Fabuloso. I hate that stuff. Drives my sinuses crazy! So, we headed outside to eat. Food was very bland and barely any meat.

*THE* BEST TACOS, PERIOD! My favorite is the shredded beef, what a depth of flavor!

Pretty much same as Chipotle and California Tortilla.

Definitely more interesting carryout Mexican food choices than their major competitor, ***potle. Plus, you can add rice and beans and all the toppings to your order. Only complaint is that prices are creeping up due to inflation. 2 tacos with rice and beans are almost $13. Tortillas are fresh, however, which is an added bonus.

The absolute best tortillas I have had anywhere. The spicy ranch sauce is awesome. A little bit pricey.

I like this place and would like to give 4.4.

You can taste the freshness, and watch them bake the tortilla in front of you. The huge portion sizes really reflect Latin hospitality. Also some unique iced teas, like hibiscus.

The food was very poor. It was soggy, the quesadillas were half cooked, the cheese was dried up and they did not include the sauce we requested.

Lazy management can’t wake up before 11:30am to open the kitchen.

All 3 meals were under par. Rice was not cooked enough and did was too salty.

Food is good. Service is bad. We scheduled an order and it was 20 minutes after the schedule time. Staff could care less. Make it right when customers are waiting. The restaurant was not very busy otherwise.

Food and service was great. Love that they have daily specials. The limeade is Ahhhhmazing. Will have to venture out and try some other items which I am sure will also be wonderful.

My new Favorite spot for Tacos and Burritos! Love, Love, love the fire grilled chicken and Steak. Love the fresh made tortillas,, and the best was the Barbacoa Pork Tamale. All cooked in front of you, even the tortillas. The Burrito was the best I've ever had but the Tamales are,,,, indescribable, Perfection! The Roasted Beef (similar to Chipotle Barbacoa) is awesome! Forget about California Tortillas (across the street) lol. How they are still in business with this place near by is a mystery to me. Do yourself a favor eat here whenever you want a burrito, taco, quesadilla, enchiladas or Tamales. Got to try the Barbacoa (pork) it too is amazing,, and the fire grilled steak or chicken are better than Any other burrito joint I've ever been to! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆
