Until we found Paula at Cake Fiction, the process of finding a cake for our wedding in Glen Gardner was ridiculous. Either they had no imagination or they were absurd in terms of pricing for the cake and delivery. Then we found our way to Paula who completely changed the game. I think I even gave her a deposit before we settled on what cake we wanted from her, but the sheer idea that we could pick ANY flavor combinations we wanted was enough to convince us she was the right person for the job. We settled on one tier lemoncello flavored cake and frosting, and the other tier was chocolate with peanut butter cream. Incredibly moist and fluffy, I was super excited. I had even tasked Paula with finding a way to make lemon fondant toppers dressed as a bride and groom. The cake came out flawless! And Paula was a dream to work with! Would recommend her any day of the week, month or year!

Paula baked a stunning custom ocean-themed cake for our 4 year old. Not only was it beautifully crafted, but the flavors and textures were out of this world! It was definitely a highlight among many others from our toddler’s birthday party and it got us a lot of compliments! We will definitely commission Cake Fiction again for many other occasions.

This past October my partner and I worked with Paula at Cake Fiction for our wedding at Jack’s Barn in Oxford, NJ, and were so impressed! We initially set up a tasting at their kitchen/shop, which was so much fun. Paula and her husband were so lovely and their shop space is too cute! We booked them on the spot, and worked with them to design a two-tier wedding cake and a dozen cupcakes. So delicious! They were a hit at our wedding and we still receive compliments on the cake/cupcakes. We’d recommend Cake Fiction to anyone who’s looking for a tasty and unique cake/dessert for their event!

For 2 years in a row, Paula has been making delicious cakes that are works of art for our little one for his birthday. She has made his dreams come true by putting in so much detail into the design of the cake, adding fine little details that has not failed to put a smile on his face. All our guests rave about how delicious her cakes are and the portions are very very generous that there is plenty of left overs for our guests to take home happily. I am so lucky to have found Paula and Cake Fiction and I am never buying special occasion cakes anywhere else!

I highly recommend Cake Fiction. Paula does incredible work! She made a beautiful and delicious cake for my wife's 30th birthday party. Not only did it look great but it also tasted great too! Even the fondant was tasty. The price was also reasonable and she is easy to work with. If you need a custom cake make sure you call her, she is one of the best!

Our Wedding Cake turned out perfect! It was exactly as we envisioned - a 3 tier naked cake decorated with live florals, along with so many cupcakes! Everything was delivered on time, in such a seamless fashion that I didn't even know they were there. Paula took my vision and make it a reality!

I love this place and could not say enough wonderful things about them. Our first experience with them was a traditional carrot cake for my 40th birthday ordered through a local restaurant which was just like a cake my grandmother used to make and amazing. Yesterday, we enjoyed this custom anime themed cake for my daughter’s sweet 16. While anime may not be anything, the team at Cake Fiction took the challenge and even hand painted an amazing titan. The price was fair and they were so easy to work with.

Cake Fiction made the most beautiful birthday cake for our sons 1st birthday. Paula was very responsive and was very thorough in listening to all of the details I wanted. I came out absolutely perfect! Thank you Paula!!

Cake Fiction was the one vendor we used from a recommendations list our venue gave to us. I am SO glad we did. Their barn itself is also super cute, just going up for the cake tasting session was magical in itself. Picking just 3 flavors to sample from their list of cake combinations was so hard, which was a good thing! You are allowed to have a different flavor for each layer of cake at no additional cost, so we had fun with those. We picked the olive oil cake with passion fruit cream, the walnut almond pound cake with raspberry mousse, and the lemon cake with orange flower blossom cream. Well, my husband talks about that passion fruit cream more than any other part of our wedding (I try not to be too upset about that), it was that amazing! My favorite flavor was the raspberry mousse, and I keep hearing a ton of compliments on that flavor in particular from our guests. The only critique I would give to Cake Fiction is that they didn't give the venue a list of the flavors so nobody knew what each layer was and my husband and I had picked the flavors months before and couldn't remember either. I also appreciate how up-front Cake Fiction was with their pricing, which is listed online on their website to give you an idea of an estimate for your cake. We ended up going with a naked cake with just buttercream frosting on the outside which saved us a bit of money, and it looked so beautiful after our florist put a couple of flowers on it for us and it really fit in well with the theme of our barn venue. I made my own cake toppers out of clay and they were a little heavy so I was worried about them on top possibly sinking into the cake, but the cake was sturdy and the topper sat up there proudly! And finally, Paula is also the sweetest lady ever and you can tell she really has a passion for her work. It's lovely that we have such a great wedding cake baker in New Jersey. Now if only they would open a tiny bakery so that we can get two cupcakes with our flavors next year for our anniversary. :)

I am so happy with choosing Cake Fiction for my wedding day! Paula did an amazing job and made the cake of my DREAMS for my Alice in Wonderland theme wedding. Our wedding cake was great, followed by some Eat Me cupcakes for our guests and best of all the Mad Hatter Tea Party Clock display cake we get to keep and cherish for years to come. They made my husbands birthday cake so beautifully and detailed. It not only looked amazing it also tasted delicious, which sometimes specialty cakes do not. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing place where that is no longer an issue! Everyone was blown away with the appearance of the cake ( they made a Rolex watch ) and everyone raved about the flavor! They are such artists and I cannot wait to use again!

Paula and Simon did an amazing job for my daughter's 1st year old birthday cake which was a jungle/animal theme! They literally re-created the picture of the cake that I provided to them as inspiration down to the animals and color scheme. It was perfection! Never mind the taste of the cake itself which consisted of belgium chocolate filling, it was delicious and was a hit with my party guests! Paula prepared a beautiful cake for my daughter's wedding. The bride and room decided on a pound cake with dulce de leche filling and butter cream frosting. Paula had some really interesting choices. Her cooking studio is in an old barn, you have to go see it for the cake tasting. Thank you Paula!!!

Paula designed my husband and I's wedding cake and it was AMAZING. We got engaged after a long hike in the Grand Canyon and asked her to create a grand canyon themed cake. She did a WONDERFUL job!!!! It looked just like the Grand Canyon, the colors were perfect and it really showed the layers of the Canyon. She created 2 people sitting on top as my husband and i. It was perfect. The cake itself tasted great. The guests raved about it all day long. We recommend Paula all the way. She was also great to work with and included all the details we wanted in the cake. It was better than we could have imagined!!

Paula is amazing. I need a minion themed birthday cake for my daughter’s first birthday and Paula did an outstanding job. We always visualize something for our precious little one’s birthday and we anticipate that at least 50% of our expectation is met in most cases however to my surprise Paula delivered a cake that was more than my expectation. She cared for every small detail in the cake that everyone in the party were in such aww of the cake. Thank you Paula for amazing work. You are fantastic and cake is absolutely delicious. Paula is a true artist. She has created both of my children's 1st birthday cakes, one was a Peter Rabbit theme and the other a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. They were both stunning! Our guests couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful they were. I love that Paula is willing to not just copy design references I share with her but to bring her artistic POV to the design. On top of the beauty, the cakes taste amazing! I believe her husband is also a big contributor to making the cakes so they make one great team. Both times, she provided beautiful cookies that matched out theme. She is a true pleasure to work with, I only wish I could do it much more often, but she will be my go to for all our milestone cakes!

What a wonderful experience working with Cake Fiction was!! Paula did an amazong job on my dad's retirement cake! She custom made a river scene with a kayak and him sitting in it. OMG - What can I say - From the time we walked in for the cake tasting I knew this was where we were getting our Wedding cake. Paula and her husband were so nice and could not do enough for us. My husband and I had the best experience at Cake Friction. We used Cake Friction for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The cake tasting was awesome. Paula was so friendly and professional. Every cake we tasted was absolutely delicious, we ended up picking 3 flavors for our cake. When the cake arrived at the venue it was so beautiful, all my guest are still raving about how great the cake looked and tasted. My husband & I got our wedding cupcakes from Cake Fiction. We had taste tested a few others, but found that Cake Fiction's were the most fluffy & best tasting. During our tasting, Paula was very knowledgeable in talking with us about the design of the cupcakes. We did not want to go a fondant route & Paula worked with us while deciding on which icing would be best for the decorations we wanted. The few weeks leading up to our wedding, Paula was super easy to get a hold of to answer my questions. Also, we were able to easily adjust the quantity we wanted up to a week before our event date. All in all, I highly recommend Cake Fiction to anyone in search of great quality from a taste as well as visual perspective.

She gave me ideas on design and flavor combinations for my son's baptism cake. I wanted it to mirror certain aspects of the invitation, and she did a great job without just copying the same design. The cake was beautiful AND delicious - in fact the chef at the venue where we had the lunch specifically asked us where we got the cake. I would highly recommend her for any special event.

Paula is so talented! There are few places that can make a cake taste just as beautiful as it looks. Our cake was PERFECT! We did a "Naked" cake with apples made of sugar (It was stunning). We chose two flavors... Apple Spice Cake and Carrot Cake (WOW!!) The cake went so fast and everyone asked where we got it. I couldn't be happier with our experience w/ Cake Fiction. I ordered 3 cakes from Paula. The first one was a 3-tiered cake with a pharmacy theme for my graduation party. The second cake was a replica of a Louis Vuitton handbag with accessories coming out of it (even a U.S. Passport!) for my mom's 50th birthday. And the third cake was a 3-tiered cake with a couple holding hands on top for my brother and sister-in-law's engagement party. All 3 fondant cakes were well-crafted and beautifully made with a unique flavored filling for each tier. The Louis Vuitton cake was a huge favorite amongst our family and friends! I was looking for a Thomas The Tank Engine themed cake for my nephew's 2nd birthday party and found Cake Fiction in the next town. Paula was fantastic and created a cake that my nephew went crazy about and everyone at the party loved. Not only was the cake great looking, but it tasted wonderful!
