Best NY style pizza in FL. It was recommended to us by another New Yorker. Closest taste you will find to pizza straight outta New York. We come here at least once a week. Denise and April are usually our servers. They are the sweetest, love them. Great good, prices and atmosphere.

Best deep dish pizza around. Great staff and atmosphere.

Ordered Cappy’s Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and some bread. Bread was disappointing but the pizza was excellent!! Calzones are really small and over all they are more expensive than I expected for pizza. I can’t say I’ll be a regular here, but I’ll most likely order another deep dish sometime.

Great spot for deep dish pizza! They offer NY style pizza, but I wouldn’t say it was typical NY style but still overall good and delicious!

The exterior of the building was a clean, modern brick facade with decking on the upper levels giving it a bit of a European / New Orleans feel. The interior was full of classic agricultural and automotive signs from yesteryear and was well-lit. To start our meal, we ordered a large Greek Salad (see picture) to share and we were not disappointed - it was delicious! We ordered 3 pizzas to share (see pictures) - 2 NY Customs and a NY Cappy. We enjoy thinner crusts and found all of these options to be very good - wood-fired edges with plenty of sauce and toppings. Excellent service, excellent pizza.

I rate everything with all 5s cuz yes food and service great. I gave a three as being in the restaurant business and the guy that was making pizzas wearing no gloves preparing food. This should be addressed hard to tell who is a manager here

Been coming here on and off for about 12 years since we opened Impulse Pole Dance Studio in Winthrop plaza. Great pizza and service. Kids love it, too!

Our family loves the food and the atmosphere. It is a small restaurant so sometimes we have to wait for a table. (They do have take out.)

Outstanding pizza!! The best thin crispy pizza in 40 mile!! Definitely a must have for pizza lovers. One bite...everyone knows the rules!! 8.7 all day long.

Not sure if they were having a bad day, but our order was horrible. We order pizza once a week and rey different places. Our Chicago style pizza, was dry and flavorless, we paid extra for jalapeños and probably got 10 little pieces, we also ordered cheese breads and those where burnt, we also ordered a supreme and it was hard, just too hard to chew. Won't be.back.

This is legit the best place to get Chicago style pizza in the entire city. It's arguably better than Uno's over in Orlando which has gone way downhill. The small chicken salad and small Chicago style together is enough to feed 2 adults with just the right amount of food. Whenever we're feeling Chicago style, this is where we go now. We don't bother with Old Towne, we don't bother with any other place. This is the best deep dish in all of Tampa. Anyone who disagrees doesn't have taste buds.

Deep dish pizza was saturated in juices from tomatoes making for a soggy crust, would have made a better pizza bowl instead. Had to almost walk over a homeless man entering the establishment. Service was good

Great food, decent price for a huge pizza.

Summary: Went on mothers day. This is where she wanted to go. Ordered two pies and a salad, totaling around 58 or so. Then someone in the family got sick with some stomach trouble about an hour or two later. Called the restaurant and then the owner, kindly informed him on the situation. Service Experience: The guy was decent, though offered nothing but lipservice for a solid 5-10 minutes. No apology nor understanding of what the problem was, no comp/discount on the next purchase, just talking and talking, without doing. He was a jolly guy and enjoyable talker, but kind of set on doing not much to resolve it, knowingly or unknowingly. Ingredients: Found out this place uses jarred/canned ingredients and low quality ingredients on some items across all five locations. Be aware of low quality, high margin ingredients when ordering. We go/order pick up all the time, and the pizza is usually 4/5, but when they ruin a standard holiday for no reason it requires a substantive note. Understandably the place was busy, though when you serve your customers getting them ill and then do nothing, its odd to say the least. Next time: I’m one step away from alerting the food service inspector people, regarding their practices, among other things. This occurred despite the fact that the ownership / mgmt was present, ie. Jeff that day according to another mgr Bryan. Request: Keep reasonable etiquette and standards! Fabrica downtown and New York, new york of tampa are better options for pizza from time to time. Lets see if things improve in the future. Pizza lovers in tampa bay and riverview, stay vigilant! Suggestion tp mgmt: improve ingredients and delight customers every step of the way. Brought home the best pizza in the area, Cappy's Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, baked to perfection. Just the way my wife and I like it, well done. If you want a fantastic pizza you will enjoy Cappy's Pizza. The Best pizza shop in the area!

Great NYC style pizza , fresh ingredients with good crust.

My favorite go to pizzeria nestled in serene Winthrop Town Centre. Yummy Food! Friendly service I prefer the Chicago style. The sauce is packed full of flavor and seasoned with just the right amount of spices and The crust is perfecto!

Everything is made with care and is super tasty! 😋 Togo is good, but I prefer to stay and enjoy the atmosphere of the outside seating area with a great view of the Winthrop area, especially during the golden hour. 🌅

Our pizza order never made it into their ordering system but, since the pizza was going to be late, the waitress comped us the pizza

First time in last night and the deep dish pizza, cheese bread, beer options, and service will definitely have me returning. This place is reasonably priced, service is friendly, and food is great!

Cappy's was a treat! As we walked up to the restaurant, we loved how the building looked and how it had a good amount of outdoor seating. As we entered, the restaurant we got hit with that delicious old school pizzeria smell. It felt like we stepped back in time to an old school pizzeria up in New England. It was dark with lots of dark wood and people just everywhere. You could tell this place was going to be good. Ok, let's get to it! There will be a wait but that should be expected for a good restaurant with good food. We ended up ordering a Chicago style deep dish Veggie pizza and a New York style pepperoni with extra cheese. Both came out hot and looked amazing. My first few bites of the New York style Pepperoni pizza was ok. It tasted good, but then, as I kept taking more bites, I noticed something magical was happening. It got better with each bite. I started to get a wonderful flavor dance party going on in my mouth. Yes! This pizza ended up being very good. Same with the deep dish, it seemed to get better with each bite as well. The crust of this deep dish was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point. Now, to make our amazing pizza experience better, we stumbled on some unique beverages. I got a delicious white stout called Fluffanutter, and yes, it was everything I thought I might be. My girlfriend got the IPA called Super Freak, which she thought was very food. The service was very good and they kept the bustling crowd satisfied. Can't wait to try again. If you like a comfy, friendly location that is perfect for a date or for a family dinner this place works!

Came here after a special event in my life for a little treat. I haven’t been in years. I don’t remember the food being as good as it once was. My taste could have just changed. I would recommend stopping in. If you can, sit outside. The inside is great too. Good vibes, good pizza, good staff.

I have been coming here for 7 yrs. The NY pizza is the best around. It reminds me of the type of pizza I had growing up in PA. When my sister and I go, we always have a small pepperoni pizza with the large toss salad. We end up taking some pizza home each time. The staff is friendly and quick. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They do serve bottle beers here. During the Christmas season, the centers' Christmas tree is just outside their doors.

My husband swears he’s the next Dave Portnoy and he rated this place a 9.4. He is a huge pizza lover and this pizza did not disappoint. If you’re from Tampa, you know how popular Eddie and Sam’s pizza is….. well, this pizza is SOOO much better, in my opinion! The outdoor seating is also super cute and the service was great. Highly recommend this place!!!

Food was absolutely something else. Have thought about going here for a few months but never got around to it till today. Orders cheese sticks and a New York style pizza and my lord that was not what I expected at all. The flavor was all there, that melty cheese you’ve always wanted on pizza is there the crunch to the crust is there I mean when I tell you I was shook by it I really was. Prices are super reasonable and better off than a place like Pizza Hut or pieology for much better taste. Honestly going to be bringing family and friends to this place because it’s definitely worth it. Don’t let the small menu fool you, these people know what they are doing.

New staff has bad attitude. Rude, difficult, unfriendly. Been coming for years. I won’t going back. Too many other good options to deal with entire difficult staff. Not like it used to be.

Great NY Pizza great crust, I personally get meatball and mushroom and a side of Chicago sause- great for a little extra on top and to dip your crust in. Try it! I'm not a Chicago Pizza guy but those who are say it's great. Their Greek Salad is awesome too and their homemade dressing I would buy. A good selection of beer too. If you have a dog 🐕 the outside dinning is available also.

First time trying chicago's "pizza" and didn't like it, sorry, it seems I'm very wrong based on the reviews and the popularity of this place. We just ordered Chicago's pizza but let me tell you ( who said that it is a Pizza?), that's NOT a pizza, it's more like a pie crust, it was good but very heavy. Also, I recommend to seat outside because inside it is very small, crowded and smoky. I went with another expectation that's why no good experience for me so if you like pizza just go there and judge it by yourself... enjoy!!

1st visit. Came because we saw an article online saying they were the best pizzeria in Tampa. The article did not lie. The Greek salad was delicious and the pizza was fresh, made to order, served hot and delicious. Everyone was super friendly and professional. Even the sweet tea was delicious. We will definitely return soon.

This is speciality pizza joint in that they serve both Chicago-style pizza and New York-style pizza. The staff are not only friendly, but are also very knowledgeable in the differences between the two types of pizzas. Concerning the staff - they are very friendly and always stay on top of the customer to make sure they are happy with that they have. I give this place a fantastic recommendation!

Grateful that they offer vegan cheese on a great crust with tasty tomato sauce. Their service is absolutely incredible, and both times we’ve picked up a pizza from here, everyone in the restaurant has been so so friendly! We’re not from the area but we definitely appreciate stopping here when we drive between Bradenton and Orlando!

Love this place, quaint with delicious Chicago style, Caesar salad and cheese bread. Definitely will revisit but be warned it can get crowded as there isn't tons of seating.

Normally it has to be Mellow Mushroom…but Cappy’s New York style is right there! Will be back.

I decided to review after getting pizza elsewhere I have been here multiple times and their pizza is the best in the area. I wish the place was a bit bigger and it’s always really hot inside but food and service is outstanding will definitely be back .

Best pizza in the area that still had some seating lol. Reminds me of Lenny and Vinnys when I was growing up. Flavor of their cheese is phenomenal and they're not stingy with it. See y'all again soon, can't believe I'm just not reviewing after years of coming by 🤷‍♂️

The prices on the menu have gone up considerably the food was great the only reason for the two-star is the price they refused to change it because they said it's out of their hands very deceiving in my opinion The food is 5☆

Great pizza experience that has a fantastic atmosphere. Beverages were ice cold, pizza crust was crunchy and the toppings were high quality and flavorful. Garlic bread sticks were served with marinara in a tear away fashion that was enjoyable. More than enough for two people with left overs for the next day. Just as good cold, and reheated as it was fresh!

We stumbled into this place by accident after doing groceries. We came around 5 on a Friday and it was so busy! Our pizza was still completed in under 25 mins. We got the large ny style cappy pizza. It was delicious! Our family loved it and even the next day, reheating in the toaster oven, it was amazing!!

Cappy’s was the first restaurant we found that had really great pizza! It was a long time settling for “cardboard “ tasting pizza but Cappy’s restored my faith in finding really great pizza in this vast wilderness. The salads easily serve two people. Prices are very reasonable and there’s plenty of parking. It’s kind of cramped in the eating area.

Definitely coming back...come see and experience for yourself. 10 out of 5 stars.

I went today and although my food was fresh when I got my Chicago style deep dish the dough was RAW. And they didnt even cut my other pizzas. Food was gross and I'm never doing back to this terrible place again.

I’ve been a regular for many years, cappys is by far our favorite pizza place. With that said, PLEASE CLEAN YOUR OVEN. I spend half my time wiping the black carbon off the underside of the pizza and cheese bread. The waitress says it’s just burnt flour and it’s normal. 🤨it’s not and it tastes bad.

Cappy's salad, pizza and calzones we're outstanding! We dined in and everyone enjoyed their food. We even had leftovers, which was no surprise. Even after reheating my calzone at home it still tasted delicious! I definitely want to go back and try their other menu items.

Cappy’s Pizzeria is a local chain pizzeria located in the Winthrop Town Center. They’re known for the Deep Dish Pizza. The decor of the restaurant looks slightly nostalgic, with old plates and antiques around. The service was attentive and good. They even bought a credit card machine over so our check out experience is much quicker. The pizza here is good. The Greek Salad was offered to us at the beginning, and everyone liked the dressing on it. The New York style pizza was good, but the real specialty is the Deep Dish Pizza. Everything about the deep dish was very good: is soft on the inside and hard on the outside. Overall, would recommend this place for Chicago Style Pizza.

This is a Chicago style pizzeria. The calzones are amazing and the deep dish is everything. The pizza’s are delicious and the service is awesome. The menu is limited, but they make up for it in the portions and quality of ingredients.

Cappy’s is my favorite local spot for fresh made pizza. Sauce and cheese have a delicious taste! They also have a good Greek salad. Haven’t tried anything else on the menu, but everything I see pass me by at the table looks just as good.

Stopped in to get a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine. It's little, but a cool place! The pizza I ordered came out and it was wonderful! They called it a New York style, don't really know if it was traditional, but really good. I will be back.

What a great pizza!!!!! If you are looking for a good pizza, a good salad or good drinks in a pleasant and familiar atmosphere... you have to come to this pizzeria. They have multiple options of pizzas and different styles. The restaurant is somewhat small inside, but has outdoor seating, good music, and excellent service. I recommend it 100% Español: Que pizza tan buena!!!!! Si estas buscando una buena pizza, buena ensalada o buenas bebidas en un ambiente agradable y familiar… tienes que venir a esta pizzeria. Tienen multiples opciones de pizzas y diferentes estilos. El restaurante es algo pequeño por dentro, pero cuenta con mesas al aire libre, buena música y un excelente servicio. Te lo recomiendo 100%
