Always a great place for food and water ice!

Hot dogs were ok, the chili was great, service and price were excellent

4 stars because, let's face it, it's a hot dog. No hot dog is a five star food. As hot dogs go it is VERY good. One of the best in the state. Imo better than Hot Dog Johnny's and so much closer!

Only one reason to go here, the hot dogs are the best around. With a friendly staff that makes you feel like family you'll find yourself wanting to come back again and again. The hours are specific so make sure to get there before they close & come prepared to fall in love with how a hot dog should be.

Been here before and really enjoy the hot dogs. But tonight got two chili dogs and one dog with just mustard and relish, All three were barely even warm if that I'd say cold and that's the hot dog and the chili was cold as well and the rolls were not that good. Very disappointing 😞

Captain Paul’s Firehouse Dogs is just awesome. Paul and Janice the owners are truly amazing as they make every customer that comes into Captain Paul’s feel like they are part of their family. The food is always at its best and having been in here more than I can count it would be hard for me to say what’s my favorite. I love trying something different every time I go. They are truly a landmark in Lawrence if you haven’t been don’t walk run and try them out, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend Captain Paul’s! Patrick

went there for a quick lunch. had the chili and cheese dogs and onion rings, just a tad expensive for the dogs but I will surely visit again, the onion ring were a 10.

It's great to see a local hotdog spot in general, but one with such dedication to our first responders and armed services is even better. The staff is warm and kind and the food is incredible. If you're looking for quality, this is the spot!

I had my day off from work so i decided to come check this place out, i ordered some cheese fries and a drink for a little snack then when i got my food i saw a ant crawling around the cheese fries, at first i couldn't tell and thought it was apart of the food because I didn't have my glasses on but when i put them on i saw it. Disgusting 0/10

I don't really want to fault a restaurant that supports our military. And our police officers and firefighters. But here it goes. Consider this constructive criticism. First of all, there is a horrifying chemical smell coming out of the restaurant when you are sitting there, waiting for your food. It is almost nauseating. It is some kind of cleaning fluid. I heard others complaining about it as well. It really needs to stop. The hot dog was so, so. If you're going to make good hot dogs at least put quality ingredients on top. I ordered a regular hot dog with ketchup, mustard, onions, and pickles. The pickles are a nasty sweet pickle. And they put whole pickles on top of your hot dog. And when you bite into it, your pickles fall off. It's odd. They do not use Heinz ketchup. They use some kind of mystery brand which has a weird aftertaste. If you're a hot dog place, just get heinz ketchup, and heinz mustard. I mean, you are selling hot dogs. Don't skimp out on the ketchup. It means a lot when you're ordering a hot dog. The onions on top were these finely chopped mushy onions on top. I like nice size onions on my hot dog. That when you bite into them, you can actually taste the onion. Even though mine was deep fried, I asked for it completely well done, it was not and it was still cold and so were a lot of the toppings. To be fair, I am going to give it another shot. The sweet potato fries were delicious and crispy. Maybe it was just a bad day. But I do appreciate them honoring service men and women all in all.

One of my coworkers referred me to thus place after talking about hot dogs. Was very curious about trying this place and was not disappointed at all with their unique selection of hot dogs. Had the Monsoor, fried dog with Mac & Cheese and Buffalo sauce and a Boot Camp, fried dog with Chilli, bacon, and cheese. Very tasty, perfect summertime lunch, and will definitely come back again trying other flavorful hot dogs on their menu

A huge amount of different selections and options to customize plus they have a vegetarian dog which is my go to order. Fries were delicious and perfectly crispy, will be back. I love the small but awesome classic cars patrons stop by to show off as well.

Wow!! Holy wow. Did I say wow? I AM SOOOOO GLAD I DIDNT MISS THIS PLACE!!! Amazing. It's so good I'm going to drive back here from Ocean City for 3 more boot camps. The Cole slaw dog was better than Snoopys in Raleigh and I never ever thought I'd say that. Ooooraahhh.

Got three dogs. Price wasnt bad. The hot dogs unfortunately we're bland, and really had no texture. They were not grilled, griddled, or deep fried. And not a natural casing dog either. The topping choices were abundant. These are very nice people and a great place. I do wish them the best.

Brand of hotdog is really horrible, tastes like a school cafeteria dog i was highly disappointed with the lack of flavor i had both boiled and fried dogs. Chicken tenders seemed from a frozen bag from walmart. Cute place to bring kids

We have been going to Captain Paul's for years! Paul and Janice are such wonderful people and are always so nice to my kids. The food is terrific too! The chili dog and the Rob O'Neil are my favorites. My kids love getting hot dogs and chicken tenders and fries. My wife always gets the Tillman. My Dad loves the pulled pork too, says its his favorite! We love the ice cream and italian ice too! A++ place, definitely check them out!

I’ve been taking my employees here for the past 5 years. captain Paul is a great human and cares about his customers experience. I’m a big ‘spicy’ guy and every time I come in he has something new for me to try. Grab one of their crazy dog creations, a sandwich, and a soda. eat it in the parking lot or picnic table for the ultimate captain Paul’s experience. PS if you’re a first responder or vet- bring a sticker or patch and captain Paul will hang it up!

Neat place. Lots of choices for hot dogs. Had the regular dog. Pretty darn good. Will have to try one fried next time. Lots of outdoor seating or to go. No indoor seating. Owners super nice. Definitely worth a stop for your hot dogfix.

This is a hidden gem in Lawrenceville; great casual place for hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream! I love all the creative and unique combos with hot dog and sandwich toppings. I have not tried the ice cream yet but definitely want to in the future. There's military and firefighter decor and memoriabila and a beautiful outdoor displays of flags and patriotic wooden cutouts, including The Statue of Liberty) near picnic tables. It was great to sit outside and enjoy a delicious hot dog topped with baked beans and potato salad. Theres a beautiful outdoor patio with wooden cutouts of very realistically painted dogs( that each have a name) and lots of people were enjoying the delicious food, beautiful weather and.relaxing atmosphere. What a spectacular find; I will definitely be coming back and I would highly recommend a visit here!

Tried this one day for lunch with a colleague. Unfortunately to order fried food was a 40 minutes wait. The ice cream was good . I'm sure the fried dogs are much more tasty but I was unable to grab one

Was really pleased to find these guys have a veggie hot dog available! Large menu of assorted hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks and ice cream. Shoestring fries were hot, crispy and perfectly done. Owner and staff were friendly and food was served quickly. As the Terminator is famous for saying.. "I'll be back".. 😎😎

Captain Paul's brings hot dogs to a whole new level. If you haven't gone yet, be prepared to take some time to look over the many ways they serve hot dogs. And then be prepared to get hooked on the many ways they serve up hot dogs lol.

Great place and the owners were friendly food was awesome. Every Tuesday night they have a cruise night, it was great seeing some of the old classics.

I was in the area and my partner hyped up Captain Paul's for the longest time and I'm so glad they were open because this is somewhere I am willing to drive HOURS for because of how great the food was and how amazing and genuine the atmosphere felt inside! I ordered the Thin Blue Line hot dog with a side of Sweet Potato Fries and a kiddie cup of their swirl soft serve ice cream and WOW it was amazing! The Thin Blue Line had a good balance of BBQ sauce and ranch with bacon bits that brought a nostalgic taste to my mouth that I never expected! The Sweet Potato Fries were the BEST Sweet Potato Fries I've ever had! They didn't taste like any other fries I've ever had before and that alone made my day! I'm normally not a fan of them but these fries they served were enough to change my stance! The soft serve ice cream was really good as well! We started dipping the fries in them and it made the experience even better because it was a combo that worked so well! Definitely will be coming back here to bring my family because this place hit a warm spot in my heart and I love supporting local businesses that loves to help others with not only food but volunteer work!
